Very dissatisfied with this pricey mixer. I had coveted one for a long time and was expecting it to at least be better than my previous (and much cheaper) mixers. I need to repeatedly scrape down the sides to even get a basic creaming mix to happen. The mixture is always either stuck to the bottom or the sides with the beater just scraping across the top. Regardless of whether I am using the whisk, beater, or beater with rubber scraper the result is the same. Even making simple mixes takes a very long time. I usually have to finish off the mix...
Read moreing by hand to incorporate all that is left on either the bottom or the sides. The mixer throws a lot of mix out of the bowl when trying to cream. The bowl sizes are good, however useless since the mixing blades are a long way away from the sides of the bowl. My advice would be to save your money. I wish I could return my mixer and get something else that is more efficient. The only saving feature is that the mixer looks good on my bench top.Purchased in at Appliances Online for $866.

Custom service above reproach. My mixer was accidentally damaged and kitchenaid replaced it with a brand new machine including my engraved name that I had in the original machine. This was done as an act of good faith and without my asking. I love my machine and kitchenaid service.

Very unsatisfied. Waste of money. Does not mix thoroughly. Lumps all through mix. Continually need to scrape mix from bottom, sides etc. Will not pick up all mix & beat. WIll never compare to a mixer I had for 40yrs & it never failed. I would throw it in bin, if I hadnt paid so much for it.

We’d been looking at these mixers for years wondering if we should spend the money to get a quality Mixer - then we pulled the trigger and have never regretted it - we’ve made cakes, biscuits, Sourdough Bread and its all been a breeze - the Mixer has a good range of speeds and the motor feels strong - the stainless steel bowels are strong and easy to clean - they also lock into the base making them very steady and also have a splash guard - the utensils are also built strong with the Dough Hook being an excellent tool for making Bread without the need to stretch and fold the dough by hand - overall we are completely satisfied with this product :)

Bought this a couple of years ago at a very good price. Great for meringue or other mixes that require plenty of time and muscle. Huge bowl and good attachments. Often need to stop and hand mix as doesn't seem to incorporate all of the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. Not sure if it's worth the current prices though.

I bought the KSM160 in early April so I've had it for about 6 weeks now and so far, I'm delighted with its performance. I'm still getting used to which bowl is best for each attachment but made a delicious orange poppy seed cake for my husband's 60th and the mixer did a great job!
I also bought the scraper mixer attachment to improve mixing the edges of the bowl in, but I'm not sure I really needed it as the one that comes with it is also good. The mixer stays put on the bench with no vibrating or jumping off the counter like my old Breville! It looks beautiful in aqua blue and matches my kitchen. I'll update my review down the track with it's functionality long-term, but so far, I'm very happy!

My husband bought the kitchenaid mixer for my birthday last year November. And I absolutely love it. The quality is amazing, it’s solid and works quietly. I have made cakes, pasta, bread and so much more with it. It is a great assistance in the kitchen with so many options. Making bread and pasta has never been so easy, I put all the ingredients in and the kitchenaid basically does the rest for you. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and has useful attachments. I would 100% recommend to this especially those who enjoy baking.

This mixer does not miss a beat, regardless of task. Dough, batter, meringue, icing… everything is perfectly mixed and with little effort. The machine doesn’t get warm like the last model despite running for long periods of time.
It’s not overly loud, I often use it when the kids are asleep.
Easy to use, easy to understand and a complete workhorse.

We've had this mixer for over ten years BUT it only gets used 3 times a year, Easter, Christmas and the occasional birthday. The design is sooo flawed that the pin/rivet holding the head of the unit on always vibrates loose and literally the heavy head with the motor falls off while in use, there is a grub screw underneath which KitchenAid told me to tighten, still it comes loose when in use from the vibrations. Now the other day just before Easter the motor stopped working, Contacted KitchenAid reporting a faulty product but they wouldn't back...
Read more up the faulty product claim and told me it's too old! Well it is like brand new and only used a few times a year so age has nothing to do with it. My wifes mother has a 30 year old Kenwood and it is still going strong. My advice is to stay away from KitchenAid, OH we have their kettle too and it didn't last as long as our $25 kettle at work from Big W Be warned before spending for an overpriced poorly designed mixer. Better off with more utilitarian brand names we've come to know.Purchased at Myer Retail Stores for $649.

After using a Sunbeam Mixmaster for 50 years my husband decided to surprise me with a new mixer. He had seen the mixer used on TV shows eg MasterChef and thought if they use it it must be good. It is a heavy mixer so does not jump around when beating cold butter but having said that, the butter just sticks to the side of the metal bowl. You have to stop the mixer, unlock it, lift it up and scrape down the sides of the bowl, time and time again. My old mixer I could keep the mixer running and use a spatula to push down the side of the bowl.

Very disappointed.
To expensive to last 2 years. Not worth it. I thought would last a lot longer and be more durable. Egg whites aren't that hard to beat and should not blow it up

I spent over $1000 on this product and extras thinking it would last 20 years. I was comfortable in the brand and warranty. Mistake. It broke and I can’t remove the dough hook to use other attachments. Looking online this is common. I have been dealing with the warranty department for 3 months. They have terrible processes and follow through. I keep having to contact them and they always say they are waiting on me. For three months I have been trying to have this fixed with no luck. Staff are also not helpful bordering on rude. I live on the Go...
Read moreld Coast, can’t bring it to Brisbane for service, it has to go to Lismore for service (lockdowns). I really wish I had just bought a cheap stand mixer and replaced it when it broke. Horrible ongoing experience. Not a fan at all but have spent so much I feel I can’t do much else but wait now. Perhaps choose another brand. UPDATE: I finally got a more competent and experienced kitchenaid representative. They threw in a freebie and managed to expedite my repair. I felt I was happy and over my negativity with the brand. However, I just received my repaired kitchenaid machine and there was no dough hook. I sent it in for repair because the dough hook was stuck and couldn't be removed. So now I have what I think is a repaired machine but I can't make bread because there is no dough hook. I rang but there office hours are 10-3pm. So, 4 months along I finally have the machine back and (I assume working) but I still can't make bread... UPDATE: Six weeks later.... dough hook stuck again.Purchased for $550.

The mixer is everything I thought it would be, and more!
It is SO easy to use, the head of the mixer tilts up and down so you can easily put the mixing bowl in and out. It also has a lock mechanism so it doesn't just fling open or drop shut. It came with different accessories which are all easy to clean and easy to change with the machine. The machine itself is quite heavy so be careful when lifting but, it is easy to clean - there aren't heaps of nooks in it to collect dust.
Also, it isn't quiet but it isn't loud....my hair dryer is much l...
Read moreouder. I got the mini matte black mixer and it is SO SO gorgeous, I leave it out on my benchtop because I love the look of it and it compliments my interior design. If you're sick of using the handheld mixers or stirring until your arm feels like it'll fall off, definitely invest in a mixer - it is so worth the money!Purchased in at KitchenAid for $499.

I have had this mixer for a few years and the head has started to move up and down causing it to become un-usable. I tried a number of hacks which I saw online and it only made it worst. For a machine worth almost a thousand dollars, this is really NOT worth it. Save your hard earned money and buy a Kenwood for half the price and double the power!

When it comes to the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, this iconic household brand doesn’t disappoint. With a powerful motor, 10 speed settings, and planetary mixing action, there’s a lot to love.
While KitchenAid stand mixers aren’t exactly cheap, the fact that they were the Product Review Award Winners from 2017-2019 makes a definitive statement about their quality.
The standard inclusions with these KitchenAid mixers are a flat beater, stainless steel wire whisk, dough hook and pouring shield. It’s also worth noting that the only difference between the KSM150 model and the KSM160 is this: the KSM150 only comes with a 4.8L bowl, while the KSM160 includes both a 4.8L bowl and a smaller 2.8L bowl.
Features:
- 10 variable speeds allow you to create a variety of textures, catering to both a slow stir and a fast whip
- Tilt-head design allows you to easily access ingredients and check on the mixing progress
- Planetary mixing action ensures ingredients don’t get stuck to the sides of the bowl and are mixed evenly and thoroughly
- Full metal construction and stainless steel bowl attest to this stand mixer's durable build quality.
