Bought 4 of these for my wifes Crewman - traveleld approx 30k's and developed a massive vibration throughout the car. Upon inspection - ALL 4 of the tyres were out of round severely affecting the driveability badly. Chaged them out - USING THE SAME… Read more

RIMS AND THE CAR IS PERFECT - shame really that they didnt live up to the specs. So we effectively got approx 30k's out of a set of tyres, thats 30 not 30,000

Follow-up  · Had to change tyres at my expense. New tyres not an issue at all . As soon as the tyres were changed all problems went. Garbage

I had these tyres for 5 years and 70,000k, mostly on country roads. They were okay in the country where there was little traffic. After moving to the city it became apparent how slippery they were in the wet. Trying to stop in short distance on a wet road was not fun so I replaced them before rear ending someone. I didn't have an issue with them… Read more

on dry roads and the wear life was good. 1 star for grip on wet roads as others have pointed out. 2 stars overall because the wear life was good.

Only good thing about this tyre is that it's cheap. It's terrible in wet weather and on a uphill road. It skids so easily and dangerously. Increase your budget a bit and get a better tyre for your safety!! Show details

Supercat tyres are very easy to skid on the road – I purchased 4 new supercat tyres in a Bridgestone shop in Melbourne, it is very easy to skid in wet day and feel a little bit scary. The tyres were purchased less than one year ago. Definitely not recommend this tyre brand.

Awful tyre in the wet; avoid if you like traction – I replaced my front two tyres via Lube Mobile due to irregular wear on the old Pilot Sports, and asked the mechanic to recommend a 'middle ground' tyre - not too expensive due to budget issues, and safe enough to cope with Adelaide Hills' changeable weather and road conditions. the mechanic recommended these and he might as well have recommended… Read more

just chucking on some old, bald tyres from a pushbike.

During the past few months dry and pleasant weather, I hadn't noticed too many issues other than when accelerating uphill on cold tyres (slight handling drag). However, as autumn hits, the roads are slick with fog in the mornings on the rare days it isn't raining. These tyres skid on braking (thank heavens I have decent ABS), cannot take off from a standstill at a roundabout and lose traction on accelerating on the freeway (god bless ESC giving me at least some traction and preventing me from careening into the dividing barrier).

I will be getting these tyres off as soon as I can afford to. I certainly don't feel safe transporting my kids in this car; it's a death trap most mornings.

Fantastic tyre and very affordable – Firstly, this tyre is not discontinued (see link below). I purchase a set of 4 in November 2017. The Bridgestone Tyre shop recommended these over the Ecopoia because I live in the country and a tougher tyre is required. My tyres have done over 5000km in 2 months over summer, covering city and country driving, heavy braking in the city, heavy… Read more

braking at high speeds, extreme rain and flooding (aquaplaning weather), high speed driving and high speed cornering. These tyres are fantastic in all conditions and I find it hard to believe why people have written negative reviews. I have owned many crap tyres in the past, and these are not crap. Grippy tyres are really important for me, and I used to buy Michelin, Pirelli and Continental but at the moment I cannot afford these brands. I strongly believe these Supercat are just as good as the superior brands at a fraction of the price. **Great value for money for a 17" tyre and ever better when you buy they as a 3+1 offer**

Not a bad tyre during Bridgestone promotions – I don’t understand the negative reviews about these tyres. I have fitted some Bridgestone Supercats on my father’s EB Falcon which is still utilizing the 14-inch tyres what Ford has been using for many decades. The size in question is 215 65 14 which was used in allot of older Falcon, Commodores, Kingswoods, Valiants, etc. Today very few… Read more

manufacturers catered for this size anymore which limited the number of tyre choices available.

Despite the negative reviews that many people have listed, I still decided to purchase the Bridgestone Supercats last month for my dad's car when my local Bridgestone dealer had a very good special on these tyres (Buy three tyres and get the fourth tyre for $10).

After the nasty Sava Intersa (apparently that were made by Goodyear) that was previously present on my father car, these Supercar tyres suddenly made the car feel more comfortable on the road. The car doesn’t feel like your driving on train tracks anymore and make the car more enjoyable to drive.

I’ve noticed many people have complained that they have experience poor grip during wet weather. I have driven these tires on wet surfaces several times and have found the wet grip performance to be very good. I was so concerned about what people said about the wet weather grip of these Supercats that I, in fact, decided to put these tyres through its paces during one rainy Sunday afternoon. These include hard braking, hard launches, hard Corning, etc. While I did manage to break traction on a couple of occasions after pushing the car very hard with these tyres (far from what anyone should in dry weather, let alone in the wet); I was still able to keep the car in control despite losing traction. I’m aware that these tests are far from scientific. However, these unofficial test what I have conducted has proven that these tyres provide very good grip in the wet.

While I’m not dismissing any claims that people have experienced poor results in these tyres, my example of the Supercat tyres has been fine. Perhaps Bridgestone has produced a bad batch of these Supercats in the past. Alternatively, maybe Bridgestone have updated the compound and/or the tread pattern recently.

One thing I should mention that you should consider taking into consideration when purchasing these tyres is that the Supercats are not the best value when they’re at full price. So your best bet is to haggle down the price with your local Bridgestone dealer. Alternatively, do what I did and get these tyres during a Bridgestone promotion. Bridgestone constantly has these Supercats on promotions so I’ll wait out till then.

Cannot Complain – I fitted 4 new 195R 14C 106/104Q 8 Supercats in Feb 2017. Just completed 121,000 Km on my 2002 Dual Cab Toyota 2WD Hilux Ute. Booked in for new tyres next week Feb 2024 as rego is due. 7 years over mostly rough country roads is good. Also steers great at 110 Km/hr on the highway. I have not had a problem in the wet. looking forward to the new ones. Regrettably Bridgestone no longer offer 4 for the price of 3, nor offer discount for NRMA membership. Still $139 ea is not too bad.

Never believed any tyre could be this bad – I have been driving for about 50 years, so please accept that I understand the performance difference between high end and budget tyres. In the 1970s, Michelin made tyres that were ideal for dry roads but were atrocious in the wet. Since then, I have never driven on anything so bad; that was until I put Supercats on the front of my Hyundai i30.… Read more

These days, even budget tyres are a fairly safe option, so I was flabbergasted when I realised that Bridgestone was marketing such a wet weather death trap as the Supercat I have a long, steep, sealed driveway going up to my home. The Hyundai’s worn Yokohama tyres had no trouble getting me home, wet or dry. Different story with these Brigestones in the wet. Halfway up, the car just sits there and spins wheels. I eventually slide back to the bottom and walk home. And at the end of a dry spell, the rain arrives, and the bloody things are even worse going downhill. Went back to Bridgestone at Keperra and the manager claimed they have never had a complaint. Some companies just dont get it; trust is essential in business.

Great tyre for skids in the wet – Bought a car second hand with these tyres fitted and driving in dry conditions not a worry but the wet thats another story. Tiny bit of throttle and this thing spins like no tomorrow. Starting on a tiny hill in the wet and it just loses grip. Fwd car doesn’t help but so unsafe that I’ll be changing tyres very shortly after seeing these reviews. Thought it might of been my lancer having no weight in the front causing it Show details

NOT for wet weather Bloody Dangerous – Bought new tyres to go on my Mazda3 SP25 Gt. In the dry, average tyre. In the wet, Absolutely DANGEROUS, understeer even taking it easy. thought the tyre pressure might be out but checked all the tyres and they were all fine. Under heavy braking you shouldn't even bother as these tyres are pathetic. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY. You have been warned!! Show details

Slippery suckers – I have just purchased a Falcon wagon with a set of brand new supercats 215 60 16 and was happy to have some new tyres with the purchase. minutes driving we had to slow down quickly for a amber turning red nothing drastic at all but as we braked the wheels kept sliding and skidding so much so we ended over the line, now after driving trucks professionally and other heavy vehicles I will safely say I could of made that stop in any of them, just not on these supercats. One more thing was that my traction control light was going crazy flashing on take off and thought it was something wrong with my vehicle but it was my wheels spinning on take off no matter how gentle... lol im a bit hard hearing my son had to tell me dad your wheels are spinning, so they are troubled in the wet and that was with the trailer unladen hmmmmmm be careful.

Worst tyres I've ever purchased – We ran a set of Supercats on our 2007 Ford Focus and they were hands down the most woeful tyres I've ever purchased. I gave them a chance, many chances, but they were changed out for some Bridgestone Turanza tyres well before they were worn out. The Supercats have marginal grip in the dry and are downright dangerous in the wet. Show details

Damm near no grip in the wet – Dry weather handling is fairly average, and thread wear is quite good, considering the distance driven. However, in the wet these tyres really fall through as it starts skidding even at speeds as low as 40 km/H. Already had a read-ending incident due to the skidding. Purchased in Adelaide, so relatively dry driving conditions was acceptable, but… Read more

Bridgestone Superacat Tyres – I had two new Supercats fitted to the front of my 2005 Volvo XC70 about fourteen months ago. I keep records of my MPG after each fuel refill. MPG has increased markedly since fitting. Very happy with these tyres. Over the life of the tyres the dollar savings because of increase in MPG may actually pay for the tyres. Will be putting them on the rears when they need replacing. Very happy with them and a bit quieter than previous tyres. Show details

Should be banned – In 45 years of driving all sorts of vehicles, in all sorts of conditions, I can't remember having a more unsafe set of tyres on a car. Good quality tyres that cost a lot less than many rivals – For all you people who bag these tyres, maybe you didn't realise that you need to be able to drive first. Doubt if any tyre will help you. I bought a set for my Mazda MX5 and had to drive back in heavy rain. I intentially drove quite hard to see what all the criticism was about. I could only slide it once when I took a corner way too fast,… Read more

otherwise the grip is really good and no wheel spin. I know these cars handle well but in heavy rain no issue. A couple of months down the track I still cannot understand why all the complaints. Being a convertible the road noise can be an issue with some tyres, like the set of Dunlops that were on the car before. These are so much quieter and handle so well around tight corners. Let's see how they wear. Mean while, all you critics enroll in a driving course and stop blaming the tyres or the car or the roads.

Great tyre for the money – They seem to handle both the dry and wet days well. I tend to drive relatively carefully so haven't experienced any traction issues like others here! Compared to other tyres such as Goodride RP28 and Kingstar SK70 they seem to handle better and come with a ton of tread. Pretty common tyre in NZ and will see them on a lot of daily run about. Purchased from Tonys Tyre Service for $110 a tyre. Show details
