expensive. Bunnings conned me like so many others say. I will never make the mistake of not reading the reviews before buying again. This paint is truly a menace to Australian society and should be forcibly removed from the market. It has no right to exist. It is irredeemable. Unconscionable to be selling this when all the reviews say the ridiculous amount of coats it needs. I will be 5 coats deep for this bedroom and still it looks patchy in parts. Biggest paint mistake of my life. Never again. I am ashamed of the human race that this product is even legally sold. Of course I had to buy more because the first 4L can ran out. 8L on one bedroom and still I am disgusted in the outcome. $150 wasted. British Paints are a shyster company for selling this UTTER GARBAGE.

Good product – I’m a professional painter with 30 years experience. I used this paint for the first time to paint a bathroom, and I can honestly say I was very impressed. Great coverage, low odour and cheaper than dulux and taubmans. Not quite sure why there are some very bad reviews. Show reply

Perfect and easy to apply – I used this in a bedroom. Having read the reviews, I was little cautious but this paint is perfect. The viscosity is just right, not too thick and not runny. Show details

Very good paint – I bought 15 litres of the low sheen to do a ceiling. Got a professional painter to do the job. He used a long nap roller. One coat was pretty much sufficient, but he put two on. It had to cover a few marks and grubby looking 35 year old off white paint. it did not take long to dry, and the smell was gone in a day, in cool weather, which is a great relief as I have problems with chemical smells. There’s a reason this paint has 74% negative reviews, as they all say this paint is trash, I applied 2 coats, very poor coverage, left wall patchy. I spent a considerable time prepping the walls, filling minor imperfections with CSR top coat, used dulux 3 in 1 seal, prime, prep, only to find that this British paints has ruined all my good prep… Read more

work that I put hours into work. I used 2 x 4 L tins on a 4x5m room which cost me $140, just a total waste of money and I’ll now have to spend at least another $70 to purchase decent paint. Do not buy this trash product, use a reputable brand such as dulux or Tubman’s.

Not drying – I am a contractor we painted a wall at 9pm next morning 7am centre was busy and got people now claiming of getting messed with paint after 10hrs paint never dry

Garbage – Bought this last week for use in my snake enclosure as recommended in our local store. touched it and it left a finger print. Tried to gently wipe off, only to spread the mark. The paint has begun to chip already. Absolute crap product. Stick to brands like Dulux, even when someone recommends this product in store. Really angry about this.

Terrible paint need at least 4 coats to cover a creaming wall. Same as prime and paint. Never again changing to Dulux – 4 coats of paint over a cream wall. Terrible coverage Show details

Garbage.. will take 4 or 5 coats to cover – This paint should be labelled as see through. Four coats will give you a poor result. Be prepared to do at least five coats for coverage. And thats going over a similar light colour. Show details

Should be discontinued – This must be about the worst paint we've ever bought. We wanted to cover a few little marks and imperfections on a white wall, but this paint left the wall worse than before we started. stocks and take this off the market as I can't see how it could be fit for any purpose. Furthermore, if the few glowing reviews are to be believed then this paint is of an especially inconsistent quality.

Worst paint so far – Painted a garage wall and a bedroom off white with this paint - required up to 5 coats to block the darker colour in the garage and 4 coats in the bedroom which had cream coloured paint previously, can still see old paint. problem. Now I have the added cost of repainting the room with Dulux or Taubmans., and re hiring a painter, the cost blowout is substantial especially when your 60+ and on a pension. Don't waste your money

Horrible,strong smell – My husband wanted to save and bought this paint which he used 10 years ago, he didn’t realise that we have a young daughter and newborn,after the painting, the horrible smell stay in the house for ever, today is the fifth day of its application, I can still smell strong odour. with my toddler touching the walls and the application. I can see there are several bad reviews and I’m noticing maybe they were painting with white paint un-tinted. Perhaps the tint helps with the coverage.

Watery and patchy colour (half hog bristle) – I usually use Dulux for walls, however, I decided to purchase British paints for a rental property due to the slight cost saving. First time user – I’m only 18 and I’ve never painted a wall before, but I like the outcome of my walls after using this paint. Don’t buy – This paint is waste of money! We spent around $200 and this product was so bad. It will dry in roller and roller wouldn’t pick any paint after 10 minutes. We wasted 2 rollers and went back to bunnings and told them , they recommended another more expensive roller and same thing happened. room for almost 3 WEEKS since. Somehow the room still smells like paint! We have tried everything from fans, air purifiers, baking soda, water with lemon, vinegar, chopped onion, to heating the room with heaters for a whole day to bake the paint on. While the smell has weakened it is still noticeable. I am very upset as my son has asthma and has to sleep in a room with this smell. It says it's supposedly "low odour and very low VOC" on the tin. I have used Taubmans Easy Coat for two rooms previously and had no problems with paint smell whatsoever. I actually thought British Paints would be a better product but now I know better! I will NEVER use this product again and would not recommend it to anyone!

Terrible quality – The client bought this paint from Bunnings 15liters of British Paints Clean Protect, applied the first coat straight from the tin and i knew straight away that the quality was poor. I have been in the painting game for many years and this took 4 coats to cover over light cream walls. If I could give less than 1 star I would! Beware!! – We bought all British paints: Ceiling, walls, gloss for doors and frames, 4 in 1 for prepping. We did absolutely everything we could to get a good job.. Although by the tin a 2nd coat wouldn’t be required we did a 2nd coat anyway and again, looks so blotchy and just horrible. I would never ever buy anything made by British paints again. Absolutely horrible, transparent paint!

Worst paint have ever used i will never use British Paints again – Will never use British Paints again. I run a maintenance company. Used British Paints for the first time. With sunshine on the walls of a hallway , kitchen and dining room you can see every roller mark and brush stroke. Color matched the walls and was supposed to be one coat freshen up I have applied 3 coats already and have to sand the whole job back and repaint. used before, but I thought, it's OK I can work with this. Ended up doing 2 coats so far and it still really needs 1 more. After the second coat had dried I noticed a but of fluff on the wall, I went to brush it off lightly, only to leave a line on the paint where my fingers had touched. Mind you I barely touched it. So then I thought what would happen it I touched it firmly. I scraped my knuckle across a small spot, I might as well have been drawing in chalk. Only problem is if I try to wipe it off it only makes more marks. This is ridiculous! I am now left having to repaint the entire wall as this is oue feature wall in the entrance to the gym and you can image what it would end up looking like if some of the teenagers realise they can write on the wall with their fingers. What an absolute waste of time and money this product is. Do not buy it, unless you want to have a chalkboard, even then don't buy it, buy the proper chalkboard paint.

Do not use British Paints – No good, bought 15l tub clean & protect of low sheen from Bunnings Adelaide. Dries clear 4 to 5 coats over a light cream wall. Other brands do it in 1 or 2 coats (British Paints need to take this product off the shelf) Show details

Matt paint was not Matt – I bought 8L of clean and protect in White Beam that was mixed at Bunnings Armadale WA, it was used to paint a large ceiling. When it dried it is semi sheen not Matt? The can is clearly marked as matt. I have left it a few days to cure but it still has a sheen on it? I'm not sure what my next move should be? Really disappointed with the outcome. Show details
