Game changer – This pushchair is a game changer!! Apart from the fact you can adapt it from a single to a double in 4 quick and easy steps, you can have the seats in multiple configurations, both parent facing, one parent one not etc... It perfect for a gentle stroll or off road at the park changing after the other little runners, the suspension works for all… Read more · 1
terrains. My babies both seem to look comfortable and when they are asleep the seats recline independently which is another amazing feature. With extendable hoods you can protect babies from the sun or let thrm sleep in peace. This pram is truly great and highly recommended by us!!
The best pram I have tried – Initially bought this pram for our first child. It is excellent. I can steer this anywhere with ease, this is particularly useful at the park over grass. I didn't realise how great the suspension was until I used a different pram. The bugaboo donkey2 is very smooth and easy to push up hills/roadside curbs. The 5 point harness is a reassuring… Read more · 1
feature of safety. It also makes getting my child in and out a breeze. My son has always been very comfortable in the pram, especially with the accessories that cover all seasons. We find the footmuff extremely helpful in keeping him warm and snug. We add the wool liner on top as well. This keeps him very comfortable. As the weather in Melbourne is ever changing this combination is very useful as I can tuck the cover of the footmuff underneath and the layer of the wool liner keeps him nice and cool if the weather changes while out. The frame is sturdy and hasn't scratched badly. The side carrier in mono is perfect for big days out and simple things like walking to the grocery store or post office. The sun canopy is perfect for blocking out sun and rain (I've never needed to use the rain cover) Now that we are expecting our second child in a few weeks it's such a relief that we can just extend the pram and add another seat. I am very happy to have chosen this pram as I will be able to see both children when out and about. The only downside would be the weight of the pram getting it in and out of the car. This is less of a concern now as my child has grown and become heavier, I am able to lift heaver things with ease!
Pros - versatile over all weather conditions, suiting those conditions perfectly - highly customisable accessories and colour choices - 5 point safety harness - easy to push over different surfaces (grass, uphill and up roadside curbs) - my child finds it very comfortable - its versatility makes it a suitable investment for a growing family
Cons - weight - the width in mono can be a problem when shopping in certain places (e.g. chemist warehouse isles and some apparel stores have narrow isles) but it personally hasn't bothered me that much
Absolutely Worth it – We debated this purchased as it was $2500 for my 2.5 year old and new born and we weren't sure we would get the use but it is fabulous. So easy to use and to convert from single to double. It's a really sturdy walking pram and both my children sit happily in it. Show details · 1
The only double pram you will ever need – I wish I had just got this from the very beginning... But I have it now and that’s all that matters! I love it, I can’t say enough good things about it. It only weighs around 12kg. Easy to fold up and down. Easy to attach and remove seats. Seats recline right back, easy to adjust straps, can face forwards or rear. So so simple to convert… Read more · 1
from single to double and back to single.
Steers perfectly, even with uneven weights of the kids. Super light to push, over any terrain. Much smoother than other doubles.
You can swap out the colour fabrics To whatever you want basically.
I really love the extendable shades.
I haven’t used the bassinet on this but I have on the lynx.
Can’t recommend this enough! Look past the price and just do it from the get go if you intend to have more than one kid.
Beautiful – It's a beautiful product i bought for my twins and proudly can say i choose bugaboo , best products, you can handle this product with your finger tip, pepole often think it's pricy but i would say if you buy it...you are going to fall in love with this...simply wannna lovely, and beautiful... Very handy – Purchased this pram for getting around with 2 children (baby & 2.3 toddler) post C-section & ongoing issues with pelvic instability. Love that it is versatile - you can have 1 or 2 kids, 2 kids or 2 babies, front or rear facing. Easy to assemble & de-assemble (make sure you have practiced a few times before any major outings). It travels well on… Read more · 1
all terrain, is easy to push & maneuver, & height is adjustable for the 'driver.' Negatives are it's heavy (but all double prams are) which is not ideal for PGP, especially notable on any inclines, & the seats are not so tall for taller kids (headcaps can be removed for extra height at the loss of in-built shade protection).
Simple and parent friendly – I’m a mum of twin girls, my bugaboo donkey 2 is so easy to get them in and out of. The pram has no problem on paths or grassed areas, I’ve had no issues with the wheels of the pram. The suspension could be better but I’m happy with it. My girls love the pram as much as I do, they will always fall asleep in it. I also love that the sunshade covers… Read more · 1
them up so well. There could be a bit more storage space there would be plenty if I had the basket with only one child but with 2 seats it takes away that option. Over all really happy with my bugaboo
Amazing – Love it. Seats recline every angle, easy to push, light and easy to set up, lovely looking, fits through a normal doorway. Love this pram! Having 2 children close in age this pram is definately necessary. Show details · 1
If only the accessories were as good as the stroller – I bought this stroller when we had our second child and then we had a third so it's been in everyday use for several years now. Bought in 2016 and it's been mostly a brilliant stroller with a few minor disappointments. Firstly the general quality of the product is excellent, and the versatility is really great. It has been used with a one seat,… Read more · 1
two seat and a one seat on bassinet configuration.
Although I highly recommend this stroller I cannot recommend all the accessories and would advise potential buyers to consider other brands that do simple things like cup holders much better.
Here is a list of the accessories we've used and why they are (mostly) terrible.
Since I've mentioned the cup holder I'll start there. It's truly a terrible cup holder. It's unique clip design means that it clips on the sides of the stroller very securely but there is no good place to put it. On the outside the stroller is suddenly too wide to fit through doorways and on the inside it's within easy reach of toddlers feet. I know, your thinking why not on the handle at the top, next to your hands, where it should be. Too bad it won't go there either thanks to it's inability to move on two axis. It's hard to explain, but trust me, don't buy one without asking to test it out first.
Next up, the (un)comfort(able) wheeled board. This could easily be excellent for some and I may just have been unlucky here, but I was never really able to use this. My child could never sit on it securely without holding onto either the handle I was using that was either in his face or behind his head depending which way he leaned, or he could hold onto the bottom of one of the baby seats and get kicked by his siblings. The seat is like a bicycle seat made of hard plastic so describing it as comfortable is like telling you kids Santa is coming. You still say it but you know you're lying. The only upshot is you can remove the seat and use the board on it's own. At least then it is useful for that extra grocery bag that won't complain about how there is no where to hang on.
The meal tray. Another accessory that could be fantastic, but seems to be dumb by design. This could easily be made to rotate to fit on both sides, but sadly it's restricted to one side. This is especially annoying on a double stroller when sometimes you'd really like to avoid an argument by putting the food out of reach of one child or the other, but you choices are restricted by some madman attempting to make everything proprietary.
Mobile Phone Holder. Small size, poor grip, poor placement, poor ability to keep it's position.
That's it for gripes about accessories here are the accessories I like.
The suitcase. Made travelling on planes easy and was not too hard to use. Even though the stitching started to come out on the handle I still like this one and recommend it if you are likely to travel by plane with your stroller.
The Stand. Great when travelling I squeezed it into the suitcase and used this as a high chair for my toddler at a wedding. It was brilliant. Also was nice to use with the bassinet in the house.
Breezy canopy. Love the extra big canopy and the ability to protect my children from mozzies when they get too much. Can completely cover them which is especially handy to keep insects off them when they are sleeping. Also the kids love being able to look out.
So overall I love the Pram and highly recommend it, I just think you'll enjoy it a lot more if you buy some of your accessories somewhere else and hope that this review has helped somebody in some small way.
Great twin pram – At first I found this pram difficult to open and close, the clips were very tight and i struggled. after a few uses though i got used to it and found it super easy to use. It's is very easy to manoeuvre and the seats easily come on and off. My only issue is the canopy keeps coming off and i need to clip it back on. Show details · 1
Great but could be better – I had the bugaboo buffalo which I LOVED. It is the perfect pram(IMO). As I got pregnant with my second 5 months after my first, we decided to upgrade to the donkey2. The good- It looks awesome (I got the classic in grey melange with black frame). It handles very very well. It’s very strong and sturdy. Storage options are good (when in mono mode… Read more · 1
the side storage is very useful). The clips on the seat are very easy to use and adjust- even with a squirming baby. The canopy is very large and covers almost the whole seat. The recline options are good as my 11mth old still likes to lie flat and nap in it if we out and about. The adjustable frame handle is brilliant as my husband is 6’2 and I am 5’3 so having the flexibility of the different heights is great.
Needs improvement- The bar that goes over the seat requires two hands to get it off. The buffalo had one side that swung away so you could release this with one hand. So it means I have to put my daughter down while getting this off, and remember where I put it, which sometimes I don’t (baby brain). This needs to change as it’s annoying! And since I know how it can be better as they did it better on the buffalo it really irritates me. Also a lot of donkey2 owners take this off and don’t use it - but my girl likes to hold onto it when she’s fully upright in the seat and I feel better knowing it’s there so I use it every time.
The buffalo had a one handed release on the frame. Meaning I could grab the frame out of the boot and flick the handle up and the whole pram would magically form. It was awesome! I could do it one handed. The donkey2 I have to put the frame on the floor and then squat down to press the release buttons (which are a bit fiddly) on the frame and then lift the handle up. This can only be done with 2 hands. Maybe I just like doing things one handed!!
The canopy can’t be adjusted when the frame handle is collapsed all the way in. So if I want to adjust the canopy I have to pull out the handle so there’s room to adjust the canopy. Again not a deal breaker just an annoyance.
These improvements I only know about as I am comparing it to the buffalo. If I only had this pram I wouldn’t know any better.
I have 2 more months until my second arrives so haven’t used it yet in duo mode. As we are planning on having 3 kids I know this pram will last many years and can grow and shrink as required.
Bugaboo is in my opinion the best pram maker and I wouldn’t get anything else but there’s always room for improvement.
Absolute lifesaver for twins! – We were very luckily gifted this by a member of family before our twins were born. Couldn't be happier with overall performance and if you can afford is definitely worth the extra money. A tiny bit heavy to lift in and out of the car but if it was lighter it would probably mean it wasn't as sturdy. All of the fabric components are machine washable… Read more · 1
which makes cleaning a breeze, it just takes a couple of days for them to dry. Feels nice and luxurious to push around and it steers extremely well compared to cheaper models. About to convert it to a single with the basket attachment for my new little one which is due in a few months. Purchased a capsule which attaches to the pram for this time round to make life easier too instead of the bassinet. Oh and fits perfectly into the back of our Ford Mondeo station wagon.
Best Double Pram Ever!!! – I mainly use my Donkey for walking pram which is amazing.. the only problem if you do the fast walking.. its shudder alot.. I heard Bugaboo has way to solve this problem but I haven’t have time to contact them. It may take a few steps to fold and unfold.. to put in the car.. and I was like... OMG.. how to do those all steps!! But after tried so… Read more · 3
many pther double, I finally decided to bring the donkey on the car (its not so bad at all after you get use to it!) and I realised with donkey, my shopping times is waaaay much relaxing as both bubs happy and not fighting.. (the little one always grab his big bro when both facing the same way and its annoyed the big one, haha). The push such a breeze, my son is on its limit weight 17kg, my little one is 12 kg and I can push the pram with just one finger with both on the pram and the shopping bags. It’s not cheap but I never regret it. Purchased from David Jones and they also very helpful in term of claiming warranty.

EXCELLENT!! Best decision i ever made purchasing for toddler and newborn!! – Absolutely fantastic product! I have a 9 week old and 18onth old, i face my toddler outwards whilst walking and have bassinet set up on right for newborn! My toddler can see everything and my newborn can sleep peacefully undisturbed! I can also transfer her straight inside when sound asleep! Sturdy, stylish and very comfortable! Very large so… Read more · 1
if you dont like large prams this isnt for you but feel best pram for double as i dont like the ones where babies are underneath or ontop of another child. This way they can both be comfortable.
One newborn is older i switch the bassinet into a seat like the toddler and face her either way to see outwards too!
very expensive but worth it!!!
This is such a great pram – I love my bugaboo donkey 2 it is such a beautiful pram, it is smooth to steer and I love that I can just extend it if I have another baby, love the range of colours and options there on this product, highly recommend to mums who want an extendable pram Show reply
Twin pram – I brought the bugaboo donkey 2 twin pram in February for twins. I do have trouble getting through some doors because of its width. It's not a pram you can take shopping, it is too large to manoeuvre in some stores, cafes. It is easy to steer though. I've developed muscles taking the capsules in and out of the car and clicking them into the pram.… Read more · 1
It takes up a large amount of space in the boot. It can be tough to fold up and unfold.
It was a massive purchase, over $2400. I tried to research the best prams for twins. I don't think there is a perfect pram. I would probably get the baby jogger city mini if I had my time again.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! – I'd consider myself a pram crazy momma, I have had over 20 different prams over the 11 years of having my 6 children. However after buying my bugaboo Donkey, it all stopped, I have not felt the need to replace it. It is exactly what I wanted all these years. Early days I couldn't justify the price of a Bugaboo, however after so many failed prams,… Read more · 1
I wish I had saved all that money and just bought the Donkey to begin with. Its light weight and probably the easiest pram I have ever pushed. I can still hold my younger daughter hand while she walks and push the other 2 babies in the pram. It fits through all registers and isles, and never had it stuck where I couldn't fit. Super stylish pram with everything you need.
Love, Love & Love – I love my bugaboo donkey, it’s so easy to move around and I can take it everywhere. It is a bigger pram so although it’s easy to fold up it does take up quite a large amount of space in the boot. The quality is beyond amazing and I get compliments on it every single time I take it out. Show reply
Excellent sturdy pram – This pram is very sturdy and manoeuvre is great, the seat belt straps are very good quality and easy to push.. even for our 5 year old. Only thing is that we find it is a bit tight to have both seats reclined to the full 180 degree sleeping position with the canopies attached, so we have detached those, the pram still looks really good even without the canopies. We have the all black version. Show reply
Good pram – I purchase this one for my second baby cos it can use for two baby. It is quite good but i still like the icandy peach 3 more than this one. The design look better but the storage is not good than peach 3 . It had small storage so it not good for shopping . But it good that you can carry 2 baby and it not that heavy to push.
Love this pram! – I researched for some time before buying this pram. Very easy to push, despite carrying two kids, or three with my add-on toddler board with seat! Almost went with a cheaper alternative but glad I didn't. Takes up a bit of boot space, but looks great, easy to set up and convert to single mode and surprisingly fits through standard doors in double… Read more · 1
mode! Bugaboo simplicity and quality is difficult to beat. They also have a great range of accessories (extra cost).
Love getting out and about with my donkey – I upgraded from a buffalo to a donkey when our second baby came along. I love being able to use it in mono or duo mode depending if I have one or both of the kids. I also like the flexibility of being able to click on the capsule or use the bassinet for longer trips out. I wanted a side by side but didn’t want my newborn facing out so the donkey… Read more
was the perfect choice. Easy to put together and push but it does take up a lot of boot space. Build quality is fantastic and I love the stylish fabrics (I have grey melange).
The only negative is the seats are quite small and shallow so my toddler will outgrow it before I’m ready.
