From the person who came to measure, to Scott who installed, the entire process has been seamless. All advice given was spot on. All staff have been wonderful to deal with. We couldn’t be happier with the quality, and the difference the sheers have made to our apartment! We love them! Show details

Really sorry I had not read the reviews before I started. The product is good, the price was reasonable. However, they have no time management skills, therefore I wasted a lot of time waiting, and in one instance waited and had a no show - no explanation. They promised a text message before they arrived, nothing. They could do any better than a… Read more

suggested 2 hour window, and then suggested that was approximate. The 2 hour window was only given on the morning, so you could even make appointments for the part of the day they weren't coming.

When you have a conversation on the phone, they say all the right things, all the people who came to install (3 installers - as they had to come back and fix mistakes) and the show room lady, were lovely. However, the left hand certainly does not know what the right hand is doing. Their record keeping then passing the amendments and notes are appalling, to say the least. A simple 2 double blind job, and one small single blind. We ordered early January, has taken 3 months to install. We were without a front window cover of any sort for at least a month as they took the old blind down and then realized the blind that was made wouldn't fit, because the amended measurements weren't passed on to the manufacturer. Worst of all, full payment, before installation. My blinds are lovely, but my stress levels were that high, and I don@t stress easily I would not recommend them to anyone.

Worst company ever. They mis-measured my shutters, so they did not fit. They said that they will redo them in 1 to 2 weeks. So far, I have been waiting for over 4 weeks, and nothing has happened. Quality of the installation absolutely horrible. Damaged walls, floorboards due to dropping my personal stuff because they neglected to move it to install a blind, installed an outdoor blind and didn’t test it- doesn’t work properly and quality of the blind is not to the standard we were sold on. I decided to have blinds instead of curtains in my house and I saw Burns for Blinds. It was a right decision to see them and they handled from the order to the installation brilliantly. Scott the installer was great and very informative. Will definitely recommend them if anyone needs blinds.

Worst company I have ever had to deal with in the 20 years of being a home owner. 1. Paid for motorised zipscreens, and they installed manual. Offered to give $2000 back to keep manual yet the manual quote was cheaper, therefore said no. 2. Had to wait over a month for them to be converted to motors, and then another 3 days for the electrician.… Read more

Then to be told one was faulty and not working. Had to wait a few weeks for this one to get fixed.

3. They had to measure for flashings as we have slanted verandah, (4 in total). They were measured twice and yet one flashing was measured incorrectly so we had to wait a few weeks for another to be cut to size. They also had to replace the bottoms as they were locked ones (from the manual blinds), these got replaced when the final flashing got installed. BUT - I asked for new bottoms as I didn’t want the handles or holes in them, but the manager said no. Yet they had to be replaced anyway!

4. I had to ring multiple times to follow up after each interaction, as often, no one ever contacted me.

Took 3 months for 4 outdoor motorised blinds to be complete. They do look good but terrible communication from this company. And the whole process was difficult. There has been no accountability on the company’s behalf nor was there an apology.

The manager, [Name Removed], was very condescending when talking with me. I asked him for an updated receipt with what I paid for (original had manual zipscreens) but he said “just use the quote”. My husband asked for it and he sent it the next day. Is this because I am a woman?

Only hope nothing happens in the next few years while they’re still in warranty as we do not want to deal with these people anymore

Pivot Arm Awning - First installation attempt. A team of 3 turn up, 1 person unpacking and literally tossing the parts on the ground directly in front of, with absolutely zero respect for the product I spent my hard earned money on. Second person, team lead, was arrogant, rude and disrespectful. He refused to use the parts that were supplied, he… Read more

knew better and said that they weren't needed and ignored the installation instructions provided to him. He insisted that long screws would fix any installation issues associated with attaching to a Hebel wall, despite the fact he had no idea if there was even a timber stud in the location where the pivot arm was to attach. There was a reason that the installation instructions directed the use of a load spreading plate, that was supplied. But this guy knew better. Well, it was going to be quicker for him, put create a long term problem for me. He refused to listen to my request to use the parts provided and recommended by the sales consultant and which was a primary factor in selecting the B for B quote. I told them to leave if they weren't going to do the job properly and damage my property in the process. A call from the Installation Manager was requested but never received. Really just somebody masquerading as a manager. Not actually managing squat and failed to take any responsibility for his work force. A second installation date was arranged. One person this time, Aaron. He was brilliant. He met our expectations and did the job the way it was supposed to be done. I feel sorry for him, having to compensate for the abysmal attitude and workmanship of the previous team and the so called installation manager. So then on the third day the electrician turns up. Also only interested in doing what was quickest for him and not what had previously been discussed when he had previously visited to inspect the site prior to the installation date. Not interested in running a cable 300mm up the inside of the wall. Every other electric blind we have had installed has the cable running up the inside of the wall. I can only surmise that unfortunately when he was an apprentice, nobody taught him techniques on how to run cables in a wall cavity. He got there the hard way. Feel sorry for him I could have shown him how to do it in a third of the time and with a lot less effort. So he couldn't leave quickly enough after connecting the power and showing me the blind going up and down. No time to see how he had run the cable through the wall. so i get a chance to take a look after he has scurried off as quick as you like. Well, he manage to butcher a hole in the wall. Not sure what he used to drill the hole, but it left chipped edges all the way around. The hole wasn't even sealed. Open to the elements, it was. Never said a word, like Ï didn't have any sealant with me, but you might need to seal that hole up to stop water ingress into you wall". Not a word. Absolutely no respect for anyone's property. It could have been years before I discovered the problem and subsequent damage. He simply had to say that the hole needed sealing and I didn't have the right tool to drill the hole. No, a gutless tradie that didn't want to own up to his lack of skill and knowledge in the hope that you wouldn't notice it, as the blind was 5m up on the second storey wall. A call out to the scaffolding guy for a job well done, no fuss or bother just simply went about doing great job.

Terrible service and product. Had 4 sets of sheers installed. Room1 was supposed to be wall to wall and was 20cm short on each side (this was eventually fixed after several months and hours worth of complaints and time) Room 2 was installed lopsided to the window. Room was installed crooked; all did not reach the floor as requested when measured… Read more

floor (3cm above). In 3 of the rooms the curtain were too wide resulting in a bunch at the end rather than the even s-fold pattern expected. The installer was rude, left a huge mess and tried to gas light me saying I'd never ordered wall to wall curtains. Management would do nothing about the fact that they were too wide. "Fixed" the ones that were lop sided and crooked leaving holes in the wall that they agreed to fix and the never did. Any alteration they did make took months with 4 different installers coming out but doing nothing. Each time we had to take time off work to wait around. Disgusting company! Give it a miss.

Whilst the quality of their product is pretty good, the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. We have had nothing but issues from end to end. of the roller blinds and a plantation shutter for a bathroom made out of timber which then started peeling and cracking (they did replace these no questions asked which was good), to forgetting to place orders. The latest debacle in a long line of stuff ups is waiting over a year to get some replacement plantation shutter slats that our son accidentally broke. The amount of times they’ve had to come out to fix things or they forgot to do this or forgot to do that! And I know other people who have had a similar experience. I suppose when you have no electronic system in place and everything is done on paper, that’s what happens. It’s a circus. In my experience you’ll get a good product at a good price but just be prepared to get mucked around endlessly. Would have given 1 star if the quality wasn’t ok.

Do not use this company! I have spent thousands on Plantation Shutters and large Roman Blinds from Burns For Blinds for a new home. Initially one of the Roman Blinds would not lock in and stay up. provided. Now the second blind worth approx. $1000 is doing EXACTLY the same thing, not locking and cannot stay up, implying that there is a known fault with these blinds, same fault. I have contacted Burns For Blinds, raised a complaint and they have basically said go to Consumer Affairs and raise your complaint, stating it is not under the warranty period. They want to charge me a $200 attendance fee to take the blind away. I would not have bought their products had I known that the quality of the blinds would be so poor that they would fail within 3-4 years.

$4K blinds I'm not putting up in my home. We have a 1890's Federation home with ageing scolloped spring loaded roller blinds. The home quote assured us the deep dish scollops could be matched, polished brass pull rings, matching stitching, interior colour to our walls and the backing would been a colour that would blend into our cream rendered… Read more

window surrounds. Final measure I again questioned the scollops, this was our main concern and the guy said yep our blinds are almost the same. Well guess what, blinds arrive and nothing like what we were shown as per the images in the booklet, not a scollop but a bit of a wave, chrome pull rings not brass and this horrible blue tone bright white backing. So, here we are, new blinds on the floor in the spare room not going up, old blinds going back up, out of pocket $4,000. Burns for Blinds gave us the silent treatment for two weeks after I stopped the install and lodged my complaint. I lodged a second complaint to get them to even make contact. They would not come out and just called over the phone telling me its too bad as what I got was as best they could do. Im not sure how much install was but they didn't even give me that money back for 17 blinds, no install happened. I would advise everyone to either go somewhere else or at least buy one blind as a trial before you spend thousands like we did and get blinds you can't put up. Their business model requiring full payment up front before you even see your blinds just gives the customer zero bargaining power when a complaint occurs.

the Installer was sick and a new date of 30th June was given. I do work part time so not home every day. Then I was phoned and told the Installer was sick (again!) and the 30th was cancelled. I queried whether they only had one Installer for the whole company but told of course not. The next 2 days they gave me I was working but after complaining about the long wait they offered to come out that day but as I was at work told them I would ring them back during my break time. Then I received a phone call asking me why I couldn't do today if I wanted the shutters that much!! I explained, again ,that I was at work, some 45 kms from home and couldn't just pop home for instillation. Deposit paid in March and now it's July and still no Shutters. And of course I had to pay in full before the 1st proposed Instillation date so what do you do? Not happy !! Very frustrating as they are ready I just need someone to please Install them !!!
