1 Motrey  · Taste cheap and nasty. Wife spat hers out in disgust. Reduce the cocoa solids and fill it full of palm oil and this is what you get. Cr#p product.
1 Geoff D  · Disgusting. Sweet, cheap ingredients. These were a gift and I couldn’t even give them away for Halloween. The kids rejected them too.
1 Emma W.  · Gifted disappointment this christmas – Yuck as now, NONE of the old flavors and all cremes when they used to be much more nuanced
1 Harry  · Crap America rubbish – Totally tasteless American crap. Totally inedible. Shameless greed by corporate heads.
1 Janyjj  · Horrible – Contents and size of chocolate very small. Also very disappointing to how they used to be
2 MegC  · Roses have really wilted! – Mediocre. Passionfruit cream? What were they thinking?! Tastes absolutely horrid.

I had the misfortune to win a box of Cadburys Roses in a competition. It's been a few years since I had these and boy do they disappoint. Sickly sweet, packed with palm oil I guess. Strike out any real chocolate. Zero effort on packaging (ironic wording on the packaging talking of excellence!). Cheap, shoddy and all you would expect from Mondelez. Show details

Soap tastes better! Palm oil flavour and mouth feel! Honestly! How is this legal? How is Cadbury allowed to deceive their customers like this. They shouldn’t be allowed to keep their previous reputation if the recipe doesn’t resemble the original product. REFUND is Due! This doesn’t even resemble chocolate! Cadbury you have lost me and my family for life. You have lost our trust! They should be shut down for deception Show details

What has Cadbury done..? The dark chocolate on the strawberry and mint is awful. Why have dark chocolate on these favorites because it just ruins the centre . The size of the chocolates are getting smaller every year. So disappointed. I havent had these chocolates for a few years and I will never buy them again Show details

Roses Chocolates Ltd Edition Tin – So happy to see some of the old flavours are back. They are not exactly the same but are so much nicer and easier to eat from when they first changed them. The strawberry and mint especially. I have not liked roses at all since they changed them but now I will definately buy them again. Show details

A worm in it! – 1k Roses received as a gift at work. My colleague and I did not feel well after eating. I tried another one with coffee yesterday… I opened it. I was a worm inside! Awful! We throw all 1k box in the bin! They were not expired. Expiring date was October 2022.

Cheap Taste. Ungiftable. - My opinion – The chocolates are woefully small, lacking in flavour and horribly sweet. There’s enough acid to produce an after burn in my throat. What’s with all the acidity regulators? Do they really think this product is edible or enjoyable? Do they really think this is giftable? The actual product appearance is not as refined as the marketing… Read more

Each individual wrapper eventually enters landfill. Where’s the corporate social responsibility there? The environment shouldn’t suffer for every chocolate someone eats.

Not eating or buying this product again. How’s that working for you?

What happened to Roses chocolates? – After receiving Cadbury Roses as a gift we noticed the wrappers were different upon opening the box. This was a sign of the disappointment to come. The variety has drastically changed. Even the original flavours that are left such as Turkish delight and Peppermint are underwhelming. The Turkish delight was dense and generous. Now it's a drop of… Read more

TD inside a chunk of chocolate. The peppermint pieces make you cringe as you chew on them. The shards of candy get wedged in the crevices of your teeth like log splitters. Sends shivers down my spine and is an odd, cheap flavour. None of the other flavours are notable except for the white chocolate with raspberry. They didn't bother filtering out the raspberry seeds and a piece of seed got stuck in my tooth which was unpleasant. I noticed that the hazelnut chocolate has tiny shards of hazelnut in it. Why tiny shards? I don't know. But biting into it I was wondering whether the factory ran out of shards because there was a couple of shards in the chocolate. Again, the generosity of the flavours is laughable. Product "improvements" such as these are testament to how attempts to maximise profits destroy a mainstay, household brand and send it to the gutter. Many of Cadburys products have dropped the ball in the last 5 years and Roses is a blow to those customers that regularly bought Roses every year as gifts. It's a sad end of an era as we move onto piecemeal, underwhelming mediocrity of things and accept our fate that has been prepared for us by demanding investors.

EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT – We received a large plastic tin as a gift and saved them to enjoy after Christmas. How disappointing to find no Turkish Delight, Peppermint and some of the other favourite flavours we enjoyed. In the past I avoided the caramel chocolates and now the tub is full of Caramel, Hazel in Caramel, Caramel Bite, Golden Barrel, more than 30% of the pack! Caramel, Caramel, Caramel Show details

Finally they are back to being yummy!!!!!!! Thank you, Cadbury Roses!! – Each Christmas in particular I love getting a tin of Roses, as well as randomly throughout the year. After the last few years of the flavours being utterly disgusting and far from their signature delicious chocolates, I had given up. The last couple of years I have looked at the tins to check if they were still a poor assortment and as they had… Read more

been, I had stopped buying them. I checked them again this year, expecting the same poor selection but I was delighted!!!!!! Yay, I have really loved this year's gems, the strawberry cream and orange cream, classic caramel, Turkish delight, peppermint cream, etc. HOORAY!!!! Thank you Cadbury Roses. I really hope you don't drop standards again and maintain this delightful selection. I would have given 5 stars, but found the chocolate to filling ratio a bit too much and I prefer milk cchocolate over dark but both issues that I can overlook. Sooooooooo happy. Thank you!!!

Beyond bad – Ok so this is my second review because my partner just gave me a huge tin of Roses chocolates. He has obviously forgotten my long winded complaints about the changes made some time ago now. So I thought I would give them another try but if anything they are worse than I remember. Did Cadbury's do any consumer research with the new product ?… Read more

Overwhelmingly people dislike them so not sure how a consumer test could have given the thumbs up ?

Regardless, clearly the change is a cost saving measure which is reflected in the quality of the product.

Unpalatable flavours half of them with a "crunch" componant that feels and tastes like sand, and cheap generic packaging rather than the traditional twist wrappers.

The flavours are not only unappealing, some are just bizarre, for example the white chocolate one has a really odd unpleasant flavour in my opinion.

A disgrace that a previously quality iconic Australian product has been reduced to this. They should have changed the name as the new version has no resemblance to the origional.

Warning - Unpopular opinion here! – Growing up in the 80s and 90s, a box of Roses Chocolates were a staple in my household! My sisters and I had our favourite flavours and coloured wrappers that we would call 'dibs' on. The iconic pink wrapper chocolates with their swirl on the inside and the purple wrapper with the swirl also were our favorites. We always left the soft cream… Read more

flavours back in the box - the mint and the strawberry. When I recently bought a box of Roses after a few years of buying Lindt chocolates, I was SO surprised there was a revamp! I agree with others that the old twisty wrappers need to come back but I suppose these new sealed ones might keep the chocolates 'fresher'. The new flavours I have been pleasantly surprised! White raspberry is delicious! And to my surprise, the new peppermint creme crunch flavour taste like a mint slice (and I'm here for it!!) I understand everyone misses the old one too. I miss the caramel fudge. Maybe there can be a compromise in bringing back some old flavours like how Arnott's Shapes brought back their original flavours.

Yay! Some of the old flavours are back! – I wrote a review and also sent some feedback to the company to complain about the Roses which came out a few years ago. I haven't bought any for ages and I received a gift of them yesterday and to my absolute delight, as one of the old flavours are back. Roses are back on the shopping list. Thank you Cadbury. Show details

Thank goodness old is new again – Visited my sister few days ago and she has managed to buy a box of the traditional Roses chocolates. I got to sample the flavours therein. Thank goodness you have reverted to the Roses flavours my family has bought me on special occasions for many years. So good. Can’t find them in store. Birthday soon and hope someone finds me a box. Thank you. Would love a box. Contact me if you can send me a sweet birthday surprise!

Much better than I remember – I was given a box of these at Christmas and was expecting them to be the oversweet flavours they’ve always been. But no! The chocolate is nicer and there seems to be more variety than before. Not just all those squishy, sugary centres. I was pleased to buy more in the post Christmas sale! Obviously everyone’s tastes are different but I’d recommend giving these a go if you haven’t in a while. Nom nom nom. Show details

This has been a Christmas staple in our house for fifty years, but this Christmas is the last time I will buy them. So underwhelming and disappointing. From a tin that is half full, to smaller chocolates, to the changes in favourite flavours. Hazelnut swirl with small chunks of nuts. Nougat that owes more to a chocolate wafer and don’t mention the… Read more

It's a common story: a company hires a new CEO or senior 'product development' manager who promises to cut costs and increase profits. They change the recipe of a beloved product, to save a few bucks, and convince themselves of a bald faced lie: the product tastes the same. No one will notice the difference. Every time, they are wrong. Loyal… Read more

customers do notice. Immediately. And they rightly feel short-changed and disappointed and they move on. It's a short sighted way of doing business and Cadbury should know better. Shame on them for ruining what was once a great, special occasions treat.

Cadbury's has destroyed this product. It was always very special to be given a box of Cadbury's Roses chocolates. Not anymore. Our daughter gave Mum a box for Mother's Day, and what a disappointment they were. They are nothing like they used to be. Sorry, Cadbury, you have lost a devotee for good.

These chocolates are hands down the worst I’ve had. The ratio of filling to chocolate is so far out. They are too chunky. Blobs of chocolate that’s just too much. I used to love the original blue box so I was surprised when these in the purple box fell short of the mark. In fact they don’t even come close to being enjoyable. I’m disappointed that… Read more

I gifted a box of these to each of my sisters for Valentine's Day this year. Just stick to the original please Cadbury.

Gone downhill, but ok – The only offering from cadbury that we eat anymore, however only because it was given to us. They're not how they used to be, but a better offering than other famous brands. I don't give chocolates to anyone anymore, none of the brands are up to scratch for gift giving - I'd be embarrassed. But if I had to, I'd give these.

I dont bother buying them anymore – This was a staple in our house in the 80s and 90s. And of course for Christmas or mothers day etc. The chocolate was nice, the fillings were nice. My grandfather amd I were turned off when they made the new version of the mint one. What were those crunchy bits? Hazelnut twirl went. That was always a fav. Grandma was given some a few years ago amd… Read more

she threw it out. It's like some cheap dollar store chocolates now. I even remember the old TV adverts where they would give the driving instructor a box of Roses chocolates. Now I dont know anyone who buys them. And I miss the old flavours. I miss that Christmas time tradition. I miss my great grandma's skill of twisting the wrappers to look like little dolls. If someone gave me this as a gift now I would think they hate me.

If Roses were weeds – I’m embarrassed I gave these as Christmas presents as I’ve just opened a left over tin and realised how gross they are. I had heard they had reverted to the original flavours…they haven’t. Sickly runny centre, hazelnut whirl is still a few tiny bits of nut and wrapped in a different colour. I didn’t spend the last 50yrs memorising the colours to… Read more

bite into a creme flavoured one instead. Everyone likes different flavours but I’d eventually eat all of them but I can’t even eat my favourites. One of which is the controversial Turkish delight that is now some gooey weird chemical flavour. Will never buy again and I have always loved Cadbury Roses.

Disgusting chocolate from Cadbury, a once great company – I was looking forward to opening my Xmas gift box of Cadbury Roses chocolates, just as I do every year. However, I couldn't have been more disappointed with the revolting chocolate in the box. Where do I start? 1. Firstly, the chocolate was grainy and tasteless. Cadbury chocolate used to be the benchmark in chocolate. Now reduced to… Read more

tasting like a Hershey bar. 2. The size of the chocolates are now so small there is barely a bite. Some of them are more like chocolate buttons in size. 3. The fillings are almost non existent and tasteless to boot. Breaks my heart with what Cadbury has done to the Caramel Deluxe and Turkish Delight. You really can't make out what you're eating.

I didn't finish the box, threw them out. I'll never buy Cadbury chocolate again. What a sad end to a great chocolate.

Cadbury Roses are now completely inedible – The caramel one I just bit into went straight in the bin.. so revolting, for want of a better word, it tasted like poison.. I didn’t buy them by the way, left by someone after Xmas.. all 3 I tried, I couldn’t eat, all went in the bin. And I used to love Cadbury Roses years ago
