Caframo Sirocco II

Noisy, poorly built fans – Poorly built junk with a huge price tag. Both our fans have a rattle since new. To the point where I won't run it at night because it's too loud. Thus, defeating the purpose of having them! Show details
Very Happy – “Touch wood “ We are very happy with our Seroco Fans! Installed in the bedroom in our New Age Caravan, we love them ! We leave them running 24/7 to assist our onboard fridge, and no sign of problems. I’m thinking of buying another 2 fans to install in the Dining Room.❤️ Show details
No a fan – Highly expensive ornament. If your anymore than 3 feet from the fan you cannot feel it. I have a $50 fan half the size and it is so much better.
Just purchased 2 new ones and either work – I have been wiring 12v for 30 plus years and installed 2 in the van today and only wired one up due to easy access to 12v wiring after wiring up it wouldn't work swapped it over with the same outcome voltage is present at the fan base connectors and yes + & - 100% correct. Have emailed the supplier and waiting for an outcome. The last Caframo Siroccos i wired into our previous van no issues
Thought they were great until they were horrible – Bought one of these fans and loved it. Because of that performance I bought 6 more. Worked great for about six months then they started acting up. 1) wouldn’t turn on 2) when they did turn on the speed buttons stopped working as designed, skipped from level one to level three, would not blow air like when I bought them and sometimes they wouldn’t… Read more
shut off, etc. The original fan I bought still works well, so did they change the quality of parts, did I get a bad batch, I don’t know but after first recommending them I definitely don’t recommend anymore.
We’re so sorry to hear this. We take our quality… Read more
If the latch breaks, you have to bin it – Generally been pretty happy with our 3 Sirocco fans, but if you move it without unlocking it first, 3 small plastic pins shear off and then it's buggered and you have to throw it away. I can see how to fix it, but I can't get the plate with the pins in it out, so I can't replace them with some better metal pins. Doesn't seem like anyone wants to… Read more · 4
fix it (Whitworths Marine) so you just have to buy a new one. All for 3 small/fragile pins. What a waste of resources.
Gutless overpriced – My 240 volt 30 dollar fan blows it away. Just get an inverter . Easy. I don't use this 22 volt fan as is gutless no air flow . It's overpriced .240 volt fans much better.
Great product! Wouldn’t be without our Sirocco II fans – We have Sirocco Il fans fitted to the bedroom area, which are perfect during our off grid summer camping. We've also had the Sirocco Il fans fitted in previous caravans and love the quiet operation and the low battery draw. They are compact, easy to clean, stylish, easy to install and offer 3 speed levels. We would highly recommend Sirocco Il fans for every caravan. Show reply
Uses little power, HAS ISSUES, however CAFRAMO stand behind their products – The Caframo Sirrocco II fan that I am reviewing was made in Canada. Pros: • The best thing about this fan is that it draws little power. • For the power draw, it puts out good output, but obviously not as much as a full size fan, like many people seem to expect from it. • The 360° angled ability is nice. Cons: • Mine arrived and was quiet, sadly… Read more · 6
I accidentally put my fingers in the fan when it was on one day and ever since then the blade rattles on the highest setting - really annoying and my fault, but apparently many other people have issues with this which is slightly disappointing that they design it so one can accidentally put fingers into the blades (they're designed not to hurt which is nice) but expect your fan to be noisy after doing it. • The buttons!!! The on off buttons are utter rubbish - ESPECIALLY for a fan of this expense!!! • The fan sometimes randomly turns itself off, I've never figured out why?
The only reason for buying this was the low power draw, other than that it's a $80 fan at the maximum - So don't expect amazing quality other than low power draw.
I have used mine very often for the last year and it is still going, but one would expect that from such an EXPENSIVE fan that is pretty average quality overall.
From memory I paid $130 for it after shopping around, never pay $180 that's just a ridiculous price for this fan, $130 is bad enough to be honest.
I would recommend it if you're needing a low power draw fan and if you don't I honestly would say look elsewhere because the price does not justify the quality that you get. Clearly you are paying for the low power draw and the ability to spin 360° and that's about it.
Update: Caframo reached out below and offered a replacement. The unit I had was technically under warranty when it failed and I did not pursue (my mistake) but Caframo were nice enough to offer a replacement and that was very appreciated.
Good name bad product – 0ur Sirocco fan lock latch failed. I disassembled it and found it relies on some flimsy bits of plastic which had broken. very disappointed would not recommend to anyone to buy Show details
Disappointed with the amount of air it displaces – Bought one of the series 2 fans and it barely pushes enough air on the highest setting to reach the 7 ft to the bed. Very disappointed considering how stupidly overpriced they are! Show details
unbalanced and will rappel lose through the hinges – I bought 3 of them, found them over priced but had the hope of years of fine performance, as I had the simple version with just the base, motor and flex propeller. Now after 2 years of little use I now find myself adjusting them around to find as little rattling as possible
Great fans, but they can fail unexpectedly – I have 3 of these fans, one had to be exchanged almost immediately as the blades were unbalanced and made a terrible racket. The replacement fan has been great. The second fan in my motorhome had failed after 12 months with less than an hours use. The circuit board was faulty and i ended up bypassing it with a jaycar switch. The third fan has never had a problem despite extensive use. Show details

Disappointing quality – I just received my fan today, after paying 3 or 4 times the price than a Chinese brand imagine my dismay to find it ran in reverse when wired up. Changing the polarity didn’t work as it runs through a circuit board. After dismantling I found the wires to the motor were incorrectly fitted. After swapping around it now works correctly. So much for paying a premium for a supposedly quality product. Show details
fails after a few nights - motor runs uneven, losens joints to vibrating noise – bought 3x 120$ at Withworth, installed one in motorhome, after 10-15 nights it started rattling so you try to find a position that doesn't rattle. Joints losen from motors uneven run and the vibration carries into all attached. I was happy for years with one of their simpler fans, can only recomment to buy one without the frame and just motor and soft blade if you still get them. They can't rattle that much Show details
Three years – This fan has been brilliant. The first one I've had going for over three years, and the last six months it's ran almost 24/7. So good I recently bought another one and I leave it running all day. I'm an auto electrician and they are so far ahead of other fans in current draw. You have to be very careful cleaning dust from it as it is easy to put the fan out of balance. I'm yet to see better. You get what you pay for. Show details
caframo fans – I bought five of them for my motorhome three of them work only when they feel like it one is in the bin already and the only one left still working they just a waist of money as soon as the warranty runs out caframo d'ont want to know you try to email them for some parts so I can fix them all they say to me is we d'ont sell parts you just got to… Read more
buy new ones and they not cheap the advise I give to everyone is to shop around they not the only company making 12 volts fans they look good and that's about it i'll never deal with this company again stay away from them
After 3 wks Developed vibrations and blades rattle – Don’t fall for the hype. Purchased 2 sirocco II fans, 1 vibrates badly from the start and has developed strange rattling sound after first 3 weeks of use caravanning. The other has similar issues albeit It’s a tad quieter. Not worth the purchase price. Show details
fan fails – I have 4 of these fans on my yacht all have failed after 3 years . one after another they have failed . For the price I'd expect them to last longer ! Show details
Best money can buy – I bought 2 of these fans for my caravan, easy installation and extremely great quality, if you buy any other fan you've bought the wrong thing! Highly recommend this product. Show details
Best 12 volt fan – This fan is great, bought 2 for our motorhome we had them going all night there was no power drainage from battery. Also extremely quiet to use and easy to fit . I highly recomend this product. Please note this product is a little expensive but well worth it. Cheers Show details · 1
New Old Stock Fan Cannot Use – Bought two Sirocco fans six years back and fitted one immediately into my caravan, which runs great, however the other unit which is brand new, was still in the carton up until yesterday, and refuses to run. Tried every thing, but it refuses to switch on and no power is getting to it seemingly. Very disappointed especially as a… Read more
replacement is around $150 so a bad mistake apparently in not testing as soon as was purchased. I am advised that the circuit board "capacitors" have probably failed through not being used and have possibly dried out? Any one else have this experience? Unit was made in China, which may explain it, but still unhappy especially as it has never been used.

Terrific customer service from Sirocco Fans – Purchased our two Sirocco fans a couple of years ago, love them. Able to manoeuvre direction where ever needed in our van, great performance and quiet. The adjustment handle broke off one of the fans, contacted Sirocco hoping to receive a new handle. To our surprise a brand new fan was sent to us. Terrific customer service, would recommend to anyone. Show details
Sirocco fan fail – These are a great low energy fan for RV use, we had this one 2 years before it failed like most reviews it still has blue lights come on but fan stops working due to flawed internal connection. This is a manufacturing fail that should be looked at for customer satisfaction. At $200. It is an expensive fan to fail so quickly, I would stil buy… Read more
another one as it is essential in warn climate touring in the middle of Australia but very disappointed in construction to fail on electrical issues.
“Two in the Bus”
Ultimate caravan fan – This is a product that really is a outstanding item it is very hard these days to find such quality. The amazing output for so little battery draw is what got me to purchase fan. We can sleep with the fans running above our bed without any trouble and stay cool on those hot night Show details
Awesome fan... needs repair occassionally – This is an awesome low energy fan with a couple of design flaws. Yesterday I guess it overheated and something melted, resulting in an intermittent fault. It lasted 2 years before failing this way, though I only using in summer. Following StuC's advice I opened it up for repair myself. It just need to be readjusted and cleaned on the… Read more
electrical contact in the right arm of the support bracket (just squeezing it helped too). I was becoming familiar with hitting it. Perhaps if the contact melts completely I'll replace it was StuC did. It's very well built on the inside thankfully and so easy enough to take apart for home repair. So I expect a lot of people would simply repair theirs without comment. I've since worked out that the unit overheated when it went to high revs after the fan blade fell off (so kill the power quickly if yours does too).
I don't know of a better option for low energy fans. The other ones from the RV shop have drained my van batteries in a few hours, whereas this one could go all night, has a timer anyway and a low voltage cutoff. So very happy with these features. I find it really quiet and doesn't vibrate as long as the fan blade is pushed properly into place. That said I only have it loosely mounted so that may be preventing the fan itself from vibrating too much (hard to tell).
It actually runs super quietly and cannot be heard from outside the RV (even on a quiet night). It's quiet enough to sleep under.
Do shop around for best price. I think it's been worth the extra money overall and I would purchase it again if it died completely one day.
Poor construction. Worse customer service – We have now owned four 24 volt Caframo Sirocco fans. The first two failed after about 6-10 months. The fans would not run although the timer lights would come on. We returned them to the vendor personally and they said it was because the wiring terminals were loose. The problem was nothing to do with the terminals. On the "hinge" of the fan… Read more
mounting ring there is a brass foil and sprung lever connector that transmits power to the fan motor when the fan position is changed. The foil wears through and after a few intermittent faults will finally fail all together. I repaired them using a spring loaded brush and brass slip ring. We contacted the vendor and Caframo to identify the fault. The vendor told us we had voided the warranty by repairing the fan ourselves and Caframo did not bother to respond. All in all a great concept, poorly executed.
A great low consumption 12 volt RV fan – I installed my12 volt Caframo Sirocco cabin fan in my caravan before heading to Far North Queensland last year and found that I did not need to use my air conditioner during the trip. It is a quiet, efficient and versatile cooling system. A definite "must have" accessory for summer heat. Show details
Expensive 12 volt fan that has a high chance of vibrating terribly – I was given this fan as a gift for our caravan and it vibrates terribly at anything above low speed which makes it unusable. I mentioned this fact to a sailing friend who has one - same problem. I looked on line and it seems that a very high percentage of people have the same problem. Someone bought 5 and had 3 faulty which is a terrible… Read more
performance for fans costing well over $100. I bought a cheap battery/12 volt/AC fan as a replacement - perfect balance for a fraction the cost.
