Another stunning canon product – I have shot with a 5D for the past 6 years and took the plunge to upgrade prior to a safari trip in south africa, I used the mark II with a Canon EF100-400IS EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM. The results are fantastic. The clarity of shot, colour detail and speedy auto focus was perfect for capturing all those moments as they happened. I even managed to shoot a few portraits and was amazed at the depth the full sensor provides. There is one thing I love about canon, its how they think like a photographer when they design the user interface, where i used to find myself fumbling for the correct button on my old Nikon... most functions were within a thumb grab. Well done Canon, I can't wait for the day I can justify upgrading again, but with my 5D mark II, do do struggle to think why I would need to. simple menu options, optional screen view, light weight body, full size sensor

Amazing – This camera is amazing, its perferct. Its got great sharp pixel detail and is easy to use. The menu is easy to navigate and it's quick to change settings, esp if you are familiar with Canons. I love this camera and its great for beginners and experts alike, with the right lens the clarity is amazing. perfect

Pretty good – very good overall, but having no auto focus in movie mode is silly. the manual could be better, but you can work most things out by reading it.The flash sync is out, but then again, it is on most cameras, you just have to test them. it is a heavy camera, but thats good as it helps take shake out. there are lots of accessories to be bought for it, but most are very expensive. E-bay has a good range of cheaper accessories, so head there. Most thing, it takes a very good picture. no movie auto focus

Excellent – Last time I went to the UK to shoot video I was 30KG over. This time my gear fit in my carry-on an the results are SO much better. Purists on both sides are still fighting video produced by a 5D. Broadcast TV says the colour compression is unacceptably high. Photographers (sometimes) say "it's a stills camera!". Fine. As long as these guys keep saying this, I'm going to keep producing the best looking videos! In fact I'd love it if NOBODY else bought a 5D! Takes a bit of skill to use the full-manual focusing while shooting. Needs a fair amount of extra gear to run. But the images. The images. Wow! Excellent – I've used the camera for the last year and it's been fantastic. Compared to the 400d, it's a huge leap. Although, I still keep the 400d because its 1.6x crop factor allows me to get extra zoom when I need it (on the occasion). High iso with low noise. You can capture beautiful images with this machine, especially if you couple if will 'L' lenses. Intuitive user interface and quick access to aperture, focus points, and all the necessities. 21mp allows you to crop at lot of the image whilst still retain a decent number of pixels. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
