Had this for years and it's great! – So simple and easy to use. Great beginner camera with many options to use. Never had an issue with it and the quality is awesome. It was definitely worth the price!

great intermediate level camera – I have owned this and several other cameras of different genres (pocket, dslr, go pro, phone, film, other) and still love this camera. Amazing quality and versatile in lens adaptability. Highly recommend this for the beginner or intermediate photographer ... great ‘bang-for-buck’ also recommend any of the “kit” lenses that come with this camera. Show details

Perfect Upgrade love it – I upgraded from the Eos 450D; I was given as an anniversary present 4 years ago. I purchased my 600D body only, while on hoilday in Perth this year 2014, it's an amazing camera. I use it with a Tamron 18-200mm Macro Lens that I find ideal for my all round photographic subject use from close ups to scenic views. I rate this camera as a very good buy (10/10).

Awesome piece of technology! – Bought this camera a while ago, and have just started using it over my phone camera (as you do, on the go). I only realised its full potential when I took this camera as a backup to Mollymook on family holidays!! The photos I posted on Facebook received so much attention from friends that I recently ended up enrolling myself for formal training… Read more

course. Am surprised how user-friendly this amazing piece of technology is. I recommend this camera to anyone out there looking to refine their photography skills! Thanks Canon!!

Perfect for beginner – As a beginner user, I find it easy to use. Before my photography course I was using the Auto function which I use every now and then when I don't want to fumble and use the Manual settings. Not too heavy. Just perfect! I love how I could flip the view screen over. Definitely worth it to buy this even one or two years later. I don't think the touch screen with 650D would be necessary. Reliable

Just love this camera – I absolutely love my camera. I purchased for $600 which included a 1 year warranty. Service was great, delivery was on time, and the hardware works like a charm. I never have any issues with it snapping pictures and I have had it over 60 days as of a few days ago. Takes excellent close up pictures. Messing with the settings isn't a chore… Read more

either. Plain and simple to use and maneuver. Highly recommend even for beginners! Works great, with easy understanding settings could have been cheaper or come with a strap/bag

Great all round camera – I love the 600D. its a very easy to use camera which still produces excellent photos and hd video. the build quality is good for a camera of this class. My only gripe is that i cant fully customize the white balance(kelvin)but then mot people house this camera wont need it Inexpensive, articulating lcd, excellent video, excellent photos White balance settings

Excellent – This is my first SLR camera and I actually knew very little about SLR cameras before getting this, but it didnt really matter as there are alot of auto functions which manage to take really nice photos. As I got more use to the camera and started to learn how to manually adjust the settings the photos looks even nicer. The display screen is… Read more

crystal clear and the rotating camera makes self portraits excellent, or when you have a group photo and no one to hold the camera. It's perhaps just abit on the heavy side as I carry it around my neck when I bring it out (though its actually really light compared to my friend's cameras). The battery indicator isn't that reliable because as soon as you reach half bar, you're battery actually has only really about 1/10 left. If you're out travelling and without a spare battery you pretty much can't take photos for the rest of the day, so make sure you carry a spare battery for long trips. excellent camera both for beginners and advanced. crystal clear display battery life not good and finishes very quickly after reaching half bar.

Amazingly beautiful photos, for a great price! – I had spoken to some professional photographers who use high-end Canon cameras - but most have a 550 / 600 on hand as well. They said that the quality for the price couldn't be beaten - and they were right! As a disclaimer, this is my first DSLR so some of my "wow" factor is due to the fact that the I had a bridge camera before with a much… Read more

smaller lens. But there is so much to love about the Canon! Picture quality is fantastic, the kit lenses really do the job (until you're ready to upgrade) and the image stabilisation, especially on a telephoto, is superb. I decided on a twin lens kit with an 18-55 and a 55-250. We went to a wedding yesterday and were standing a long way from the bride and groom. My husband used the 55250 lens, held the camera above his head and scored a very professional-looking photo.

Other great things are the ability to take very good quality video, there is virtually no lag - you can snap photos super-fast, screen has great resolution, feels good to hold.

Take the time to read the manual - it's huge, but you'll get so much more out of it if you do. The auto setting works very well in a lot of environments but you'll love your camera more if you learn to use the other settings - start with Av and Tv. As for lenses, don't get too carried away to start with. Try the kit lenses and see how you go. You might also want to consider an external flash, when you're ready. Also look at getting a UV filter to protect your lens from scratches etc.

I bought from Camera Pro (online), service was excellent and much cheaper than local shops.

Wonderful, wonderful camera. You need one!! Image quality, good price, very quick, good features, Very loud if you use at quiet moments (but that is a DSLR for you)

A nice upgrade to my 350D – So this is my 2nd DSLR replacing my older Canon 350D. After the first DSLR I knew I would always have a DSLR as my main camera, size doesn't matter when your photos look so good. Size and weight I'm sure are similar to my old and other camera's in this price bracket. Got the twin lens kit so a 18-55 for general use, and the 55-250mm for zooming… Read more

in and taking those photos that no one expects.

These cameras are fast which is great for photos of kids that never stay in one spot for long. The HD Video recording is great and means you can get away with just one camera, although it doesn't do autofocus and such so its not a complete video camera replacement.

The large screen makes reviewing photos easy, and it also swivels out so you can see it while taking video/pictures of yourself, or you can also swivel it in to protect it when packed in a back.

The battery life is a lot shorter than my old 350D although I think that is due to the large screen, which you can turn off but I guess a trade off of large screen but shorter batter life. Easy to use. Great shots. Nice large screen. More common SD card memory Battery life

Fantastic camera, easy to use – This is my first SLR camera and I absoloutely love it. It is easy to use, I love the fact that the screen is rotatable and protects it. The photos are so so clear, and it is especially good for taking photos of my baby and pets.I have 3 different lenses and havent worked them out, but each provides a different zoom, and are more affordable if they are purchased in a package Reliable, clear photos, lightweight, easy to use

Slightly better than 550D – A good solid all round camera with HD video option. It is really no different (other then the flip screen) to the 550D, so if you don't use the flip screen, there isn't much point paying the extra. Easy to use

Decent Camera – From the 400D to this the 600D, it has been improved no end. Live view is a very usefully feature for taking pictures over the heads off people in a crowd and down to earth level for macro. SD card is also good, over all a great little camera. A very happy customer, so far. Live View Very noisy when the live view turns off, so far this is the only negative point
