Battery lasted a bit longer then the warranty period recycle sticker 03/22 and started failing 04/2026 so got just over 4 years on the ultra performance range of battery NS60LSX (40 month) Warranty) would give 4.5 if that was an option. I replaced… Read more

Follow-up · It was in a Honda CRV 2013 2.4L. Replace with a cheap model battery as I don’t plan to keep the car for long the cheaper model was also on sale. I believe one of the cells failed as the battery indicator was still green.
I had a very frightening experience today in Queensland Springfield 4300 at around 1pm involving one of your drivers. While driving home from work doing the speed limit, a Century Batteries truck was tailgating me aggressively, there were two lanes with myself in the right lane and another car in left lane both of us doing the speed limit. that… Read more
car then came over into my lane in front of me as the left lane was ending (turn-only), the truck moved into the left lane and then suddenly swerved back into my lane with only putting his blinker on for like 2 seconds, nearly colliding with my vehicle. I was forced to swerve to avoid being hit and almost crashed into the roadside barrier. This was extremely dangerous and could have easily resulted in a serious accident. What was most concerning was the driver showed no awareness or concern for what had just happened. I’m very disappointed by this behaviour and hope the company takes this seriously before someone is seriously injured.
Century Batteries website states 'No matter what you drive, there's an Australian Made Century battery to suit your car". This doesn't seem to be the case. I ordered a Century Battery for a 2017 Ford Ranger. The battery I received is made in Korea. I have been on the Century Batteries web site and there doesn't seem to be an Australian made battery to suit my car. Century Batteries are part of GS Yuasa Corporation, based in Japan.

I’ve gone though many Century batteries over the years. Batteries for staring my vehicles and deep cycle batteries for the caravan. I have been buying them blindly due to them being Australian Made. Well it’s time again to buy a couple of new batteries, one for my MUX and one for my Mahindra. I was after a couple of Century Ultra High… Read more
Performance 4×4 battery NS70LX that comes with 30 month warranty. Not that the warranty has any credibility these days, a quick search on negative reviews shows short service life and rejected warranty claims is one of the biggest complaint reviewers mentioned.
Even at the battery stores it seems like nobody wants to sell me one. When I ask for a Century battery the reply I get is usually - “may I suggest a Amaron? They are superior to the Century and I’ll price match it” or “are you set on a Century or can I recommend something better?
I don’t know what’s going on but it really seems like Century has trashed their brand over recent years. They have lowered their warranty period and left many of their customers disappointed. Century are not what they once were.
Personally I haven’t had a problem with my century batteries failing before their warranty period has ended so I can’t comment on Century’s attitude to warranty claims. But century lowering their warranty period is concerning.
I’m going to try something different this time around, only then I’ll have something the measure the true quality of my new batteries compared to my loyal Australian made purchases. I really hope Century work to get their reputation back to where it once was. It’s a shame to ship something half way around the world when they are already being made locally.
Recommended this battery from a store as "great" for a jet ski. What a joke, the acid it loses even with the overflow vent ends up in the jetski and the battery is dead within12 month's. DO NOT put this battery in any sort of a water craft !! Show details
Good run with the Overlander 4x4 – Surprised I had a good 8+ years run with the Overlander battery in the ute. The only maintenance was topping up water every 2-3 years and giving it a good charge every now and then especially during winter. Only reason i bought this battery was for the extra terminal for 4wd accessories. Buying same model again soon. Hopefully its still the exact same quality.
New century battery – Just purchased a new century battery for my caravan, however it's not a heavy duty RV battery and is useless for a caravan, l now need to spend $375 on a new heavy duty battery Show details
Bad customer service. Warranty joke – Purchased these in January 24 from supercheap Ingham, rang them yesterday morning to speak with them regarding the problems I was having with them, told to return batteries to the store and they would check and follow the procedure for claims. Removed batteries from boat ( they had been on my brand new century charger trickle charged at 2 amps and… Read more
not taking a charge,in fact 1 was showing a fault), drove 60klm to Ingham, had them checked by staff at supercheap and promptly told that no warranty cover was going to be given, in fact yhe store managers exact words were, " your not going to be happy", after that she gave me a Townsville number for century batteries and I spoke to [Name Removed] who also insisted that the product was not to blame and I had no warranty claim . 1 battery showed 9.6v and 2nd showed 10.5v. He was zero help and just kept arguing with me around charging and maintaining batteries. By the way these were a like for like swap with old century batteries that were 4yrs old and still ok. After sitting outside supercheap I rang the Brisbane office and was finally put threw to [Name Removed], went through the same story with him until his phone cut out and lost contact, even though he went to great lengths to tell me that my 8 month old batteries that cost me 600$ would not be able to be claimed under warranty. Went to a different auto parts dealer and bought another 2 batteries ( definitely not century). Disgraceful and disgusted.

My battery died under load so got it checked by an auto electrician and was faulty but on taking it in for warranty claim was told that the battery needs to be at 12.2 volts to claim not the 10 volts it was on. So I can’t claim a faulty battery only a charged one. Will never buy century batteries again. Por customer service on their behalf
Follow-up · Battery world melton. Was sent there by century head office. He was totally told to put me off. The battery seems reasonable for falcon – I'm satisfied with my sca battery, It lasted Two years of being driven every single day of the year, I think the cells must have degraded the cranking amps after 20 months as i knew the starting power wasn't what it should be, kept going for another couple months, nearly got stuck on outback road, so disconnected all accessories started car back… Read more
up went back into town bought a new one with two months extra warranty, for $218, fingers crossed it lasts two years (when the warranty expires).
Just replaced after 4 years in a daily driver so no complaints – Just got 4 years out of a Century Ultra Hi Performance Battery in a 2011 Outlander driven lots of short trips on a daily basis. I agree that in the 'old days' batteries seem to last longer - more like 5 to 7 years, but cars are much more power-hungry these days - and the batteries are definitely more compact.

I have had TWO fail on me in 12 months - Century 68MF - high performance battery for a V8 Monaro. AutoBarn accepted the first one back within about 4 months of purchase, so good result from them; but, I don't have a receipt for the replacement they gave me (I don't think they gave me any paperwork for the replacement), so I have no proof of… Read more
purchase for the second one which has also failed in about 8 months. Battery is marked 25-2 which I assume to mean Feb 2025, which would be about right since I got it second half of 2025. Dead by March 2026. I might take it up with Century, but I'm not interested in a replacement, I'm finished with them. The second one went flat in my driveway because of the security system, but after charging it for 36 hours, it still won't hold enough charge to even budge the starter motor. Prior to this, no problems. My real gripe here is that surely a decent battery can recover from going flat once? Apparently not. I'd read bad reviews on Century before, but thought "it's unlikely to happen to me" so I bought one, but it has happened, twice. JUNK. Sigh... Australia is doomed if this is the best that "Made in AUS" can manage.
Absolute trash, had my AGM H6 for VW GOLF for about 18 months it now has a dead cell and because they're machine won't read it and it just says recharge (it won't take anymore charge it's a dead cell) they have offered to investigate the battery further if I take it out of the vehicle leaving me with no battery for my vehicle which I can't do so… Read more
I'm stuck driving around with the 10.5 volt battery and my alternator is working overtime I have ordered a replacement from lithuMax and will never use these batteries again. Like others have said the warranties non-existent and I do maintain my batteries, I own a century 25 amp charger also and I actually charge the battery every few days I top it up because my car has variable voltage charging alternator and I don't believe it keeps it a state of charge that is sufficient. Im really not looking forward to it breaking down after how trash their warranty is for their batteries. I plan to contact the ACCC because I don't think what these guys are doing is fair.
Battery pole on my aux n70z leaked about 10 months in. Warranty was not interested. Switched to Amaron, chalk and cheese in quality. I will never buy another Century again.

Dual Force 27x AGM failed at 30 months, warranty only 24 months. Used as a starting battery in dual battery system on a Toyota hilux D4-D. Replacement RRP is $550 in June 2025. Optima AGM yellow top in same vehicle lasted 6+ years as the starting battery. Would like to support Australian made, just no longer convinced with over-priced and under performing products.
I purchased 2 x C12-270XDA 270 Amp hr deep cycle AGM Century batteries in April 2022 to use in a small off grid shed. battery maker is pathetic. I would be expecting at least 10 years.
The batteries are charged by a 600 watt solar array and have never gone below 80% capacity. Century have advised they will do nothing or even offer a reduced price on replacement battery. This company is deplorable and I could not recommend there batteries to anyone.

around 10 year is appalling. These batteries are charged by a 600 watt solar array and have never been below 80% capacity. I could never recommend these batteries to anyone and the Century won't do anything. This company is deplorable.
There are plenty of other brand batteries with much better performance, I also have a Full River battery in another shed and it has been going in excess of 10 years with no problems.
To save yourself a lot of problems never buy a century battery, having had 4 in total I can say there performance is terrible.
I was not too impressed by the Optima yellow top D27F only lasted for 4 years in my Prado with plenty of travel. I had N70ZZLHMF in my 2008 Triton. 1 & 8 days it failed completely. Has an internal short. Recording only 2v. Century took over nearly a week to pick up the battery that I took back to the retailer. Prior to 12 mths ago I had worked for businesses that were Century dealers for over 30years. I have sold & fitted probably 1000s of Century batteries over the years. They used to be a good product offer great service this has now all gone out the window. Do not surport this business they do not deserve your money. It's sad as Australian to slag off at an Australian company, however they they have done every the deserve to go broke. I understand sometimes a product fails that's why warranty is offered. My car has now been of the Rd for 10 days due to no fault on my part. The driver won't answer his phone, the call centre staff in Brisbane don't care. DON'T BUY CENTURY PRODUCTS THEY WILL LET YOU DONE, THEIR SERVICE IS NON EXSITANT.
Pointless warranty – Bought a Century 760cca Overlander battery from Super Cheap Auto. Failed after 9 months. Century process for warranty is the battery has to be sent to Century for testing before a warranty claim will be honoured, so basically you have to buy a new battery anyway in order to drive the car home from the retailer, given the battery has to be removed and sent to Century.

Century battery Ultra High Performance – I bought a ultra high performance battery thinking it would last a lot longer than the warranty period 40 months. 29 days and they tested it and it said replace battery. The assistant manager said it’s lasted the warranty period that’s all the battery needs to last. Sorry mate nothing can be done. I have not been a century battery man but thought I would give a go as I have always used another brand and got 6-8 years from them. I just bought a century marine battery probably just make warranty period and die also. I won’t buy century battery ever again due to poor battery life and bad product support and customer service. It should say expected product life 40 months.
Poor customer service – Bought Century marine pro 780 on 27th July 2024… never use but keep dropping charge and charge indicator stuck on white colour “recharge”. Battery for Life ? – Dear Sir / Madam , We bought the battery a little more than 8 years ago , the green light is dimming and it seems to be lacking cranking power . Is it normal that after only 8 years the cranking power is gone ?
Overpriced junk – On to my second century battery for my FG Falcon, without fail in exactly 3 years the voltage drops from 13.1 volts charged to 12volts overnight. I don't know what it is with century batteries but they don't last or hold full charge even when new Never again
Overpriced, poor reliability and an overpriced boat anchor basically – Used to be good solid batteries, alas no longer. 10 years ago I had a Century Battery that was on 7 years before it gave up the ghost. brands these days, Century and their own branded variety. I was advised not to go near the SCA variety and needed a battery fast, I went with the Century.
Take-aways, unsure what Yuasa the parent company is doing but they have devalued Century name and are now overpriced marine anchors. 2 years for something that used to last 7, I suspect they need to get back to a solid lead-zinc acid battery and forget about all these gimmicks like adding calcium or other fads like carbon foot prints.
Disappointing in many aspects – Second claim both within first year, Battery constantly requires charging after only short usage, check for charging rate, shows 13.2 volts, only parasitic drain being internal clock and nothing else indicated after full circuit voltage leak test, multimeter shows 12.8 volts, battery visy gauge shows green indicating fully charged however, my… Read more
battery charger initially indicates otherwise and is an automatically set charger with illuminated bars showing state of charge from one bar to 6 then another indicating fully charged, prior to recharging and unable even to sound the horn let alone engage the selenoid or crank the starter, it only shows one bar, after out of car charging for over 30 hours the bars now indicate fully charged however still the selenoid clicks but wont engage, hence not crank, I am in my 70's with many years in the Automotive battery industry beginning with George L Thompson hard rubber batteries, at Canterbury NSW which later became Marshall Batteries and have been involved with the industry in various areas for many years. I wont mention the seller and have yet to lodge a replacement claim, however it should be noted that it seems only the blue and yellow Century batteries are still manufactured in Australia whereas the black cased units are clearly labelled 'Made In Korea', not that the quality and manufacturing location should be an indication of the the workmanship but it is important that if Made in Australia is still considered as a selling benefit it should state the fact clearly otherwise it could be portraying its reputation on falls claims. My battery is clearly labelled made in Korea. Century Batteries excellent reputation as one of the last battery makers in Australia is to be proud of however if there is as high a level of poorly rectified claims and still riding on the Australian Made aspect it 'in my opinion' displays very poor marketing practices.
Century Battery 67 MF – Century Battery 67 MF - for my BA MK2 XR6T Falcon. Another battery going in. Again the same 640cca (Repco brand) Century Battery. warrantee) with the previous 4 in this and other Falcons proving to be very reliable and strong and all performing well and lasting 4 to 5 years. Battery not overly expensive if you shop around. Quoted $275 from Supercheap but being a member they made no offer of a discount so luckily purchased from Repco on sale for $220. Highly recommended - a good strong battery but I will be investigating the installation of a battery Isolation Switch and Trickle Charger. Keeping the battery charged I am told does make it last longer.
