work well – The refrigerator looks fashionable, the workmanship is exquisite, the freezer space capacity is very big, the compartment inside the refrigerator can put a lot of things, refrigeration effect is very good, and heat dissipation speed is quick, the most important is the refrigerator is noise-free. Freezer work very well.I like it.  Show details

Changhong let me down severely !!!! – Suffered a severe electrical storm on Christmas day, followed by another one on Boxing day - result - blew the backside of our old stalwart fridge that has been functioning for years. Had a houseful of guests, and loaded up with food. End result - bought a Changhong 518 litre fridge in desperation, got it home, and the only thing that worked on… Read more

it was the light. very disappointed, but got a full and total refund and apology from out dealer. Will never touch a Changhong again.

Price wonderful, but constant temperature hard to keep – Purchased because of the great price, and we needed a large sized fridge for the family. It is okay - there's nothing wrong with the fridge - but I think it has issues in maintaining a constant temperature. In some compartments there are problems with some food getting close to freezing. Overall though, easy to clean and quiet, but I wonder about the temp control  Show details

Silly brand name, excellent product – Needed one for my new house and was after something that didn't cost the earth but had to be reasonable. Looked up the Changhong brand and found out they made products for other brands in their own factory and rebadged them. Thought I would try it out as I have filled the house with brand names that definitely did not live up to their… Read more

expectations.

After using it for 3 months I can say I have been happy with the coolings, noise level and overall build quality of this fridge. It does not look fancy like a $2500 one but it keeps everything cool. Looks simple and the only fault is the interior compartment on the door has a lift up lid that's a bit flimsy.

Great 4 door fridge - better than I expected – I was looking to upgrade our old Samsung 2 door fridge to a larger model. I saw this Changhong 4 door fridge in a PoCo brochure. After doing some online research It was a toss-up between the Sharp SJF624STSL 604 lit. At about $1900 and the Changhong 518 lit at $1298. In my research I found that Changhong is the 2nd biggest manufacturer of white… Read more

goods in China.

My wife and I saw the Sharp at Masters, and the Changhong at PoCo. The Changhong, though smaller in width (which fit better next to our chest freezer without blocking the entrance to our lounge-room at all) actually had an extra shelf in the main fridge section. It was also had a Titanium finish, as against the Sharp's Stainless Steel. Both had separate cooling systems for the fridge and cooler and an ice-making section.

We had missed Bing Lee's 20% discount on the Sharp on eBay (which would have dropped the price down to about $1600 including delivery - still a saving of $300 with the Chanhong) but now the saving of about $500 made our choice of the Changhong simpler.

Added to this was that PoCo had free delivery, plus when we joined their customer Club we got an additional $25 off, taking the price down to $1,273.

We received the Changhong exactly two months ago, and have had no problems with it. As long as it is left for a couple of hours after delivery to settle it's refrigerant and then ensuring the doors are closed after opening (the fridge gives warning chimes if a door is left slightly open).

The only thing that would make it more useful would be having another shelf support in both fridge doors if one wanted to make a shelf higher.

The fridge has proved itself to be well-made and roomy, and with the 2 years warranty is a great buy.

ONE YEAR LATER: The fridge is going well, no problems and I still think it rates 5 stars

I see it is back at Poco for about $1300. Still a great buy at this price.

Looks Great. Quiet, Very Practicle – Now been using this fridge for a week, and frankly it's better than I thought. Considering there is very little info on it we took the plunge and bought sight unseen from Stan Cash in Melbourne. If you have a limited opening for a fridge (ours was 800mm) then this is THE only french door fridge on the market that will fit. The Freezer is… Read more

probably the largest in the market for this size (518L). Having had an upside down fridge prior, there was no way we could go conventional, and again this one ticks the right boxes.

Easy to use on screen display on the front lets you control various functions,

Obviously early days, and time will tell if it will last 25 years like our Westinghouse, I doubt it, as I'm told most last 8-10 years now days. If it starts to have problems, or continues to operate brilliantly, I'll update the review in due course.

Changhong French door fridge – This yells engined fridge stopped working after two months. Just completely died and they won't answer their service line sow e can't contact them! We bought the fridge in the picture above on 16/9 and it has broken on the 7/12 just before Christmas! Only two months after we purchased it it just doesn't work. food as we were stocked up for Christmas and now e had to throw meat, ice cream, etc etc out. It must've stopped working over night as we woke up to find everything melted and warm.

We purchased it at the good guys in Canberra and called them on Sunday aNd nothing could be done. We tried calling the 1300 number in the booklet and there was no answer from changhong. After calling them numerous times Monday and leaving 6 messages, still no answer. We also had the manager of the good guys call them on the 1300 number and his direct service line and he also wasn't able to get an answer- and he is a retailer!

This fridge is very well designed though. We love the space and particularly the freezer drawers. It has been great, but is no good now and we can't fe to tot he company so we will see what happens tomorrow and perhaps get I to the ombusdman since they won't answer their phones. Any one else had problems? Any ideas of what we can do as there is no one to call to repair it.... Great freezer storage, French doors, big space, Bad warranty service, no answer from company, fridge stopped after two months
