purchased this fridge less than five years ago, and it has already broken down—well before the warranty has expired. That in itself is unacceptable for what should be a long-term appliance. What makes this worse is the terrible service I’ve received trying to get it repaired. I contacted the repairs team and have been repeatedly put off, with no… Read more

real sense of urgency or accountability. I’ve now been told I have to wait three weeks just for a repair to be organized. Not completed—just organized. I’ve explained multiple times that this is a fridge, a basic household necessity, and that we can’t go without one for weeks. They clearly do not care. Their attitude shows a complete lack of respect for the customer and no understanding of how important timely service is when it comes to appliances like this. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I would strongly caution anyone against buying this product. Poor build quality, and even worse after-sales support. Avoid.

Terrible product, stay away – This is simply a terrible fridge that’s made in Thailand. The flap doesn’t retract properly so you can’t close the door. The ice maker leaks water and when you pull open and close the freezer drawer it feels like a flimsy toy. It looks nice but don’t be fooled as this is not a very good fridge. The motor sounds like a truck. Finally if you need… Read more

'OK' fridge, but infuriatingly frustrating customer 'service' from JB Hi-Fi / Electrolux – I've had this fridge for 2 years and 8 months now and it's been rather good except for the noise. It's always been rather loud in my opinion even though the noises I could hear are described in the manual as 'normal'. But seriously, it occasionally sounded like a plane taking off when I was in the kitchen! Last week however the fridge part… Read more

stopped cooling. It must've stopped cooling somewhere on Friday, but I didn't notice it until mid morning Saturday as lights and freezer were still on, but the juice I grabbed and drank had gone off despite only being opened Thursday night. When I shut the fridge after grabbing the juice it started beeping loudly and flashing the display panel which I turned off without really looking as I figured it was the replace ice/water filter (which it wasn't as that one is more gentle and initially stops when you shut the door again). Shortly after this I started hearing an extreme rattling sound and realised the fridge wasn't cooling. I rang 'The Warranty Group' (Assurant) as directed by the extended warranty folder received at JB Hi-Fi at time of purchase. They only operate 8am-5.30pm Mon-Fri. Great. Rang the store, couldn't help me, I just had to ring the number Monday morning. Awesome. So Monday morning 8am on the dot I rang the number. Explained the situation to her, stressing the fact that I live rural and always have trouble getting tradies etc out here so I just wanted to get things rolling asap to get a timeframe on how long I'd be without a fridge. She said she put a claim through and Electrolux would contact me within 48hrs. Sorry, I ain't waiting 2 days to find out how long this is going to take so after a few hours I rang Electrolux myself and the lady couldn't find the number the warranty people had given me. She could book a repairer for me but then it would be at my expense as it wasn't tied to a warranty claim yet. No thanks. So she told me to ring them and/or the store again, which I did, with no success as they just told me to wait for Electrolux. I spent literally the whole day on the phone between the 3 parties, 'enjoying' hours of on hold music, all pointing fingers and getting me nowhere until I finally got an 'answer' from Electrolux just before 5pm. Because I lived rural they wouldn't deal with it and it was up to the warranty people to source me a repairer! 9 hours to get to that conclusion while it was the first thing I mentioned at 8am!! A bloke from the store actually made some calls on my behalf after that but also got no further than "they will contact you tomorrow morning". By lunchtime I hadn't heard and rang the warranty group again (this time a bloke who's English was near incomprehensible and who misunderstood half of what I said) and they gave me the name/number of a repairer who (again) would contact me in the next 2 days. I rang the number myself and left a message. Didn't hear back by 4pm so rang again and realised the message on the machine didn't really sound like a business message and started googling them. That company doesn't exist anymore! And when the lady who I apparently left a message for rang me back that night she said that's been her number for 15 years and she gets a few calls like mine a year!! Back to the warranty again who said they assigned me a different repairer and that she tried to contact them while putting me on hold but didn't get an answer. I demanded the name, googled them and rang them instantly. He picked up straight away but said he had not been contacted yet and didn't know anything about it (yet?). Also he was busy until at least mid next week. After 2 days wasted on the phone I left it at that figuring it'd be in his emails or that they'd gotten another repairer again who would 'contact me within 2 days' and I better start ringing some mates to see who had a spare bar fridge. It is now day 17 and I still haven't been contacted by anyone, but somewhere on the weekend the damn thing actually started cooling again?! The rattling noise roughly every 20 minutes is still there though so I don't know whether I can trust this fridge with food again (or animal medicine, which was worth more than the $200 compensation they'd supposedly offer) or whether it'll just have a random week off again soon... The warranty booklet states that I'm entitled to a loan fridge if the repairs will take more than 10 days, however, this only starts counting from the day the fridge gets to the repairer. Absolutely appalling 'service' if this is how they handle it!

Sorry for the long rant, but this experience will keep me away from Electrolux/JB Hi-Fi in the future. I bought a (supposedly) decent fridge with the extra warranty precisely to avoid any hassles if something went wrong. Rather inclined to buy a cheap & nasty one next time so I can basically just throw it out and buy a new one if it fails.

But back to the fridge itself; + spacious + well lit + I never hooked up the plumbing so can't comment on the function of the water/ice maker, but I like the fact that you don't lose any door space because of it - noisy - doors & handles smudge easily and hard to clean off - bit hard to get drawers out to clean and never got one of them to realign properly again afterwards +/- didn't really miss a beat until now, but I expect more than 3 years from a $2200 fridge...

Edit: I wrote this review last week and allowed to have it sent to Electrolux for mediation first without being published, but again, without response..

Great Fridge – I purchased this fridge to replace a 20 year old Samsung, and I love it. My main reason for purchasing was its size, as it had to fit in a relatively small fridge slot (had to be no wider than 80cms). This fridge had the best reviews for a fridge this size. I didn't really want a plumbed fridge, but now I love the ice and water features...the… Read more

water tastes great and it is great to have ice on hand all the time. I am drinking so much more water as it is so convenient. I personally like that the water is not overly icy, as I don't like my water too cold,

The fridge is spacious and well designed for storing food and this fridge had no trouble coping with the Christmas feast and left overs along side our everyday food, and the fruit and veges stay fresh for over a week.

The freezer design is great, allowing you to see and access food easily...no more lost food at the back of the freezer, which is great for storing pre prepared meals as you can see what you have left and what you need to prepare more of.

This fridge is very quiet and the only times I hear any noise is when the ice maker is depositing more ice in the bucket and refilling the ice tray or if I have placed lots of new items in the freezer after the weekly cookup

I really like the deep door storage which lets you turn those wide sauce and juice bottles sideways so you can fit more in and the deli draw which lets you keep smelly cheeses and meats separate from the other foods.

Highly recommend this fridge

I love how much I can fit in this fridge – We bought this fridge about 18 months ago, I am so happy with it, it's quiet. The only noise you hear is when the ice cubes are dropping into the tray when it needs topping up, I love the deep ice cube container, we sometimes empty it when we need to fill a small esky going out, no need to buy a bag of ice. The shelves on the doors are great… Read more

for fitting bottles, you could fit 6, 2lt bottles of Milk if you needed to in the 3 shelves. The fruit and veg drawers are great, you can adjust the moisture level to keep your fruit and veg longer, also the other slim drawers you can keep meat in them. There is just so much space in this fridge!

Everything stays lovely and cold, we had a black out from 10pm-5pm the following day, though we were out most of that day and didn't open the doors, everything stayed cold, the only thing in the freezer that started to defrost was a loaf of bread. Love the plumbed in water, only downer is the water is very cold after you fill a couple of cups of water.

Best Fridge I have ever used – Love that the ice-maker takes up no room in the freezer door and fills a bin in the freezer. Looks amazing, so stylish. 3 sizes of ice cube available too. Maintains a consistent and reliable temperature in all compartments. So spacious for its size. Show details

Love our new fridge but very noisy! – We love our new Electrolux French Door fridge (above model). We purchased in January 2020, all working well however the motor is very noisy. I have spoken to Electrolux Service Department and was told that I could book it in for a technician visit but would have to pay for a technician to come out unless the fridge was found to be faulty. Just Buy it! – Carnt fault it.....keeps food cold, and very good lay out.Very spacious inside, and love having the freezer on the Bottom. But the best feature is the water and ice! Used to buy bagged ice, and now saving a small fortune! Read some negative comments about being too noisey and uneven freezer draw. It just makes a normal fridge sound and no issues with draw. Doesn't stack up – This is a poorly built fridge. Freezer door needs to be slammed, or the whole freezer ices up and ice blocks solidify, internal drawer mechanisms are flimsy and don't work well, water cooler can't keep up on hot days when it is needed most, and switch is a bit dodgy. Not good at all .frustrating customer 'service' from JB Hi-Fi / Electrolux AGAIN!!!! from a different customer – I Bought This fridge in July 2019, Has been very good. Unfortunately I had the exact same difficulty with JBHi FI Extended warranty As Kate did from NSW. It has been two weeks since the fridge stopped working. away for repair. When I asked when, the reply was, that Electrolux would get back to me, in about ten days. That would make it 4 weeks since I called JB HI FI Warranty.

In the Meantime the Electrolux Technician told me that I should buy a cheap freezer from Aldi As they were selling them for $200.

Not really a great advert for Electrolux.

I will be going to the Australian Competion and consumer Commission about this.

It really is not good enough for a product which cost a lot of money.

Extremely disappointing – My rating is for Electrolux, more so than the fridge. My fridge was delivered a week ago and the 2 french doors do not align (ie, one was almost half a centimetre higher than the other). The place I bought it from got Electrolux to send a technician out. He spent over 2 hours trying everything to get the doors to level up. He claimed the problem… Read more

was due to the uneven floor (it is a concrete slab, and more level than most floors), so he dragged the fridge out to a totally level spot in the kitchen so he could be sure the fridge was level. He still couldn't get the doors to align without the fridge rocking. He called his supervisor suggesting they send out a new fridge. However, the supervisor clearly didn't not want to do this, so the technician told him he would just get it as close as he could and leave it. When the fridge was put back into place, he pushed a thick wad of cardboard between the side of the fridge and the wall. This aligned the tops of the doors, but misaligned everything else (the actual fridge is now on a lean, the space in the middle between the doors is noticeably bigger at the bottom than at the top, the freezer drawer now sticks out beyond the side of the fridge and the top of the fridge is not horizontal. Because Electrolux's technician reported that there is nothing wrong with the fridge, and it is my that is the problem, they refuse to do anything about it. Their solution was that I should return the fridge to the store and buy a different brand fridge! I am left with a sub-standard product, which fortunately the store will take back, but I will have extra delivery costs and now have to find a different fridge. Into the bargain, the technician dragged the fridge all over the floor and severely scratched the surface. I would give them 0 if I could.

Nice fridge freezer no complaints here – This fridge freezer is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking at buying. The stainless steel front is easy to clean and doesn’t leave lots of annoying marks. The bottom freezer has three decent sized draws and they all pull out easily and smoothly. Amazing fridge. Wish we had bought it sooner! – We’ve had a lot of very expensive whitegoods over the years. This relatively cheap purchase tops them all. refill it and this is of great convenience. The only 2 things I found that needs to be improved is that the handles are with sharp edges and we have been scratched by it when We are too close to it, especially when standing up. The other thing is that the ice water is only Icey for the first glass that comes out as it,s fresh water that gets filtered inside the fridge. So only the first glass of water gets cooled down by the filter. Once the filter is at water temperature, there is no more ice water. But there’s always the ice cubes.

water dispenser's internal plumbing is different to typical fridge-freezers so you don't have one side of the french door that is fatter than the other. The downside is that the ice doesn't 'dispense' as such, cubes are made within the freezer section. The dream was to have a crushed ice dispenser, but you can't have everything i guess.

There is a control panel inside the fridge to select options such as the ice maker and economy mode etc. I don't notice any noise except when the ice is being made and dropping into its container.

My only issue is with the water filter. I don't like the taste of the water. My husband says its okay, but i think it tastes a bit plasticy or even cheesy. My tap water does not taste like this. As the filter gets older, i prefer the taste. Ive even bought a generic non-electrolux filter and had the same issue. Also, i note that some people in other reviews have commented that the water isn't super cold. This is true but it doesn't bother me.

I bought the fridge from Appliances Online. I waited for their sale and also found a discount code. At the time this was the cheapest place to buy it.

Overall i really like the fridge and i expect to have it for many years.

The reviews suggesting this fridge is quiet are either not on the level or the production line is not consistent. Either way, this has been a deeply disappointing purchase.

In so many ways this fridge is perfect. It's beautiful, well designed and constructed very well. But if you have an open plan or semi open plan, or you value your peace and quiet, avoid this fridge at all costs.

Update: While I was unsatisfied with the product, both Electrolux and Appliances Online bent over backwards to resolve my concerns. Absolutely Grade A customer service. The sense I got from both companies was that there haven't been issues with this product and that we may have had some bad luck. That was persuasive, but we weren't really prepared to try again. for this product. Electrolux offered a $300 credit toward another of their products (I was sure they had originally offered a $300 refund, but apparently I heard them wrong). The bigger issue was the the fridge was freezing everything. They sent a service person out and he found a wire that was not connected at the factory. He connected it, and said it might fix the problem, but to be on the safe side, he ordered a new fridge for me. That excellent service was provided by a local company sent by Electrolux, rather than by Electrolux themselves. The replacement has been working great for 6 months now.
