To make matters worse, items were damaged during the process, and my couch was left dirty because nothing was covered for protection. At the time of payment, we were told the damaged items would be compensated. Since then, our emails have gone unanswered and the phone number provided is not working.

Due to the poor workmanship, lack of care, and no follow-up or accountability, I would not recommend this company to others.

Needed to move 2 boxes from Melbourne to Cairns on very short notice. I contacted over 100 companies and no one helped. Cheap Interstate Movers were the only ones who stepped in and got it done. Really grateful for their help

I would hate to write a negative review about a business however I couldn't resist following a shocking and terrible experience with this mover.

The company has no customer service. The images of truck with their own signage is all nonsense as all jobs are subcontracted. The movers he subcontracts to are completely unprofessional. We lost a bed frame drawer in transit and some goods got damaged, scratched and glasses broken. No compensation, apologies, empathy or even response from the guy. The job for 3 bed from Melb to Bris was booked for 16th Jan, I called them and confirmed on 14th Jan all is on track and the guy was confident that the truck is scheduled to pick up our goods on 16th Jan. On the day, no one turned up, no message, no call, no email. Upon my few call attempts, the owner sitting in India informed me the truck will be late by 2 hours. Finally the truck arrived after waiting 30 hours and can you imagine their movers took 8.5 hours to load our 23 square meters!! Height of unprofessionalism. The subcontractors when arrived, confirmed that they were always booked for 17th Jan afternoon by the company for this job and not 16th Jan morning, although the company booked with me for 16th Jan morning. When we received the goods, the glasses were broken, a whole bed frame drawer was (and is still) missing, goods and fridge were damaged, washing machine was damaged and scratched and much, much more. Upon contacting them and requesting for compensation, there's no response from the guy and unfortunately I'll be taking this matter to VCAT through my solicitors.

finally arrived at 8:00 pm the following day, the crew appeared exhausted and explained that the driver had driven from Melbourne that morning and still had three drop-offs to complete before my pickup. Cheap Interstate Movers hires local jockeys in whichever city they are in.

To be clear, on pick up the local jockeys themselves worked extremely hard and deserve credit. While the driver had a rest in cabin. Unfortunately, the same issues continued on delivery. My drop-off was scheduled for Monday according to [Name Removed] after the delayed arrival, yet the truck did not arrive until 5:30 pm on Tuesday.

[Name Removed], your one and only driver for long distance hauls who is still on P Plates is clearly being overworked, and customers are being over-promised unrealistic timelines, followed by inconsistent explanations. This business approach needs serious review. You cost me much more than the mere $100 discount offered. Thus this review.

I would not recommend Cheap Interstate Movers unless you are prepared to wait days beyond agreed schedules, if and when they eventually arrive.

following day. This was great, given I had nowhere to sleep as everything was packed. Fast forward to the next day and again they were late, but at least they showed up albeit 4 hours late. The truck was loaded (couldn't fit everything on despite it actually being less than what I had been quoted for), but not before they put holes in the gyprock walls of my rental (more on that later). Once loaded I set on my merry way to SA and the delivery was arranged for the Friday. On the Friday, I had heard nothing so tried to ring multiple times ... no answer and on checking their website, it had been taken down. I thought I had been scammed of by $200k worth of belongings, only to then get onto someone who said the truck would be a day later (so now the Saturday) as they had had to move my gear to another truck to accommodate a seconds person's property. It was now starting to make sense - they were putting in two loads to halve their costs - I have no issue with this - but they were so cagey about it it was disgusting. Another day passes and I was set for my gear and I started to get messages demanding payment. I wouldn't pay the balance until the truck arrived (fair enough given what had been going on). They couldn't have cared less and the truck still hadn't arrived, now arriving on the Sunday. I convinced them to meet me and I would transfer the funds on their arrival in front of them on the Sunday morning. Truck arrives and unloaded. Absolute shambles, they'd packed it wrong and I was worried about the damage. Finally got my property and off they went. I am left with a $1500 bill out of my bond for the damage they caused - they are still not returning calls. They said they would bring the 8 tubs of gear they couldn't get on the truck on their next trip. I won't hold my breath.

My advice is you get what you pay for. This mob are a disgusting company who, once they have your money, will hold you to ransom. Don't believe me, check Product Review for real reviews of this mob as the ones on here MUST be dodgey as there is no way they would be a 4.7. They are not trustworthy, they are cowboys and they are the reason this industry needs regulation.

Great experience – Team Mani did great job. They packed my stuff with in few hours when other company told me that it will take 14hrs to pack only. Guys finished my move with in 12hrs from South Yarra to Horsham including packing.
