They can easily block withdrawals of your own assets even after you have passed all their identity verifications. They will then tell you it is to “protect you from losing crypto” and push you toward selling your crypto and withdrawing cash instead.… Read more

In my experience, this is not a reliable platform for holding or moving crypto. Stay away from this company.

Follow-up  · I had to sell my crypto for cash, withdraw the funds to my bank account, buy the crypto again on another CEX, and then send it to the original destination address. In total, I lost more than $150 because of this forced workaround. I already answered the other questions in my first post.

I wish I could give zero stars. The experience I’ve had with Coinbase over the past 24 hours has been the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. I was repeatedly advised that I met all eligibility criteria for a promotional reward, only to later be told that I did not. I was then informed that I had failed to deposit funds, despite… Read more

providing clear documentary evidence and screenshots proving that I had. These shifting and contradictory explanations raise serious concerns under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) regarding misleading or deceptive conduct and a lack of transparency in representations made to consumers. Throughout this process, Coinbase has failed to provide any meaningful procedural fairness. Decisions have been reversed without explanation, evidence has been disregarded, and no clear reasons have been provided for adverse outcomes. This falls well below the standard expected of a financial service provider dealing with customer funds. I have attempted to lodge a formal complaint more than 30 times. Each time, I am redirected to an online complaint form that I cannot complete because Coinbase refuses to close any of my existing support cases. I currently have six open cases, none of which have progressed toward resolution. This appears to be a systemic failure of Coinbase’s internal dispute resolution (IDR) process and is inconsistent with ASIC Regulatory Guide 271, which requires financial firms to provide accessible, fair, and timely complaint handling. Effectively blocking a consumer’s ability to complain is unacceptable and potentially unlawful. After notifying Coinbase that I intended to escalate the matter to AFCA and report the conduct to ASIC, I was suddenly advised that my identity — which had already been fully verified — was no longer verified. This unexplained reversal raises serious concerns about compliance with due process, regulatory standards, and the obligation to treat customers fairly and without retaliatory or discriminatory conduct. At present, I am no closer to accessing my own funds, resolving the issue, or even closing my account. Instead, I remain trapped in a loop of unresolved cases, inconsistent explanations, and unexplained reversals of prior decisions. Coinbase markets itself as a compliant and trustworthy financial services provider. Based on this experience, I seriously question whether its representations, complaint handling practices, verification processes, and treatment of customers align with the Australian Consumer Law, ASIC regulatory requirements, and basic principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability.

Update: the issues outlined above have continued.

I was contacted by Coinbase Support via email and, briefly, it appeared that progress was being made. I advised that after completing identity verification three times and spending more than five hours trying to resolve this matter, I would not undergo further verification without a clear explanation.

The funds in question originated from my verified PayPal account and were deposited into what was, at the time, a verified Coinbase account. I have not been provided with a clear or consistent explanation as to why I am currently unable to withdraw my own funds.

I then spent a further 1.5 hours on live chat support, but was again directed between different support cases without a clear outcome. I remain unable to access my funds.

Despite repeated requests, I have not been provided with a formal complaint reference number or confirmation that a complaint has been properly logged. This experience appears inconsistent with publicly stated complaint-handling expectations, including those set out in ASIC Regulatory Guide 271.

Given the lack of resolution, I will now be escalating this matter to AFCA and notifying ASIC so the matter can be reviewed. I will also be seeking reimbursement for the time and impact caused by the prolonged handling of this issue.

I have advised Coinbase that I recently exited a domestic violence relationship and that access to these funds is important to my personal circumstances. Despite sharing this information, no practical progress has been made.

Overall, this experience has been extremely distressing. The inconsistent information, difficulty in lodging a formal complaint, and ongoing restriction on my funds raise serious concerns for me about transparency, procedural fairness, and how customer issues — particularly in vulnerable situations — are handled.

I will give them 0 stars. They just didn't let me buy crypto and their reason is this: "As part of helping to keep Coinbase safe for everyone, we determined you're no longer eligible to buy crypto on Coinbase. You can still sell, transfer, or withdraw any cryptocurrency you have on Coinbase. For security reasons, we are unable to disclose details… Read more

behind this decision."

Their customer service team is asking me to read an article for possible reasons as why buying crypto is blocked. What the hell. Then why they have the customer service. I am asking them directly and they don't have an answer.

They are just saying sorry, we have to let you go.

I will not recommend this app to anyone. Anyone who wants to buy, trade crypto, go for some other better, genuine and trustworthy app. DO NOT USE COINBASE AT ALL.

So I was sent funds to my Coinbase wallet address supplied to me by Coinbase. everything she informed me that this would be taken care of by their specialist team and that I would have an outcome in no more than 7 days so after patiently waiting 7 days no funds received no correspondence from Coinbase I went back to the chat function spoke to a different agent who informed me that I would receive funds in 24/48 hours I was angry that I was asked to wait longer but what do you do now this has been going on for 2 weeks 14 days of constant reaching out to the chat to explain the whole thing again and to be told a completely scripted reply from every agent and never any real answers. Today I made a review on another platform and got a response from Coinbase saying that this wasn’t allocated to a specialist and that it now had been and I would recieve communication very soon now the next live chat agent tells me that it’s going to be within the next 7 days again I do not believe Coinbase is legit and hold many concerns that this issue will ever be resolved I as a single mum can not afford to loose these funds due to an error made by their platform not my own I feel they have had ample time to rectify this issue but instead just keep dragging it on why should I suffer due to their inability to solve this issue in the first time frame promised to me I don’t feel it’s reasonable to make a customer wait potentially 3 weeks to rectify an issue that Coinbase has created shame on you Coinbase

Dodgy company, don't trust them!! – Dodgy company that sent me an message advising someone had requested a change of phone number under the account that was created when I was scammed. I did the right thing by responding as they advised only to be advised that " my device was not recognized" so was unable to send a message! Scam artists that should be ashamed of themselves and the people working there supporting this dodgy company. Avoid them at all costs!!

I see a lot of recommendations online and it’s already obvious there are bad eggs online who will only add to your mystery. I can only recommend one and you can reach them via mail on (zattechrecovery AT gmailc0 m ) if you need help on recovering what you lost to scammers.

Follow-up  · I was amazed when I got to see all of my partner's text messages, calls, and chats directly from my phone. For a long while now, I've been having trust issues with my wife, so I came on here in search for help on how to spy on her and after going through several reviews about the Zattechhacker @ gmail com, I immediately mailed for help, surprisingly, after few hours, they delivered without any glitch. Simply the best you can come across.

I lost my XRP because Coinbase offered me the wrong network option (Base) during withdrawal — even though the receiving platform (Swyftx) only supports native XRP Ledger (XRPL). They showed multiple network options (XRPL, Base, Ethereum), but… Read more

nowhere did they explain which one was compatible. Yes, they say “use the right network” — but then present wrong ones as valid choices without a clear warning. It’s a trap for users who trust the interface.

When I contacted Coinbase support, they just blamed me and refused to help. Swyftx couldn’t recover it either. The funds were sent successfully — just to the wrong network — and now they’re sitting in a wallet Coinbase or Swyftx controls. Nobody’s willing to retrieve them.

This is a UX design failure disguised as a user mistake. If Coinbase knows Base isn’t supported for XRP withdrawals to most platforms, they should disable that option — or clearly warn users which network to use.

This kind of thing shouldn’t happen in 2025. Crypto is hard enough already without exchanges profiting off people’s mistakes.

Contacting support is extremely difficult.

Follow-up  · Coinbase should never offer a Base option that will wrap your XRP to cbXRP only to be lost! Swyft and Coinbase were both very unhelpful. 1. Why Coinbase gives two “XRP” options When you withdraw XRP from Coinbase, they may show: • XRPL — the native XRP Ledger network (what most people expect when they think “XRP”) • Base — Coinbase’s own… Read more

5 times). This is all after I was completely verified the day before as well. You can't make a compalint untill you submit a support ticket, but they never answer your support ticket so...??????? They basically set up loops so you never get to a real person and the chat will keep you in line for hours before just disconnecting yoiu anyway. DON'T BE SEDUCED by the misinformation on the internet, they DON'T EVEN OFFER LOW FEES! Once you actually get to trade on CB you find out that it's way more expensive than reported rates on finder etc. In fact it cost more than the exchange i was already using and with 10 times the headaches and no customer support, at all. Imagine wanting to send crypto to make a timely trade and receiving the message in the photo I've attached. They pretend they are protecting you from scammers when really I'm convinced they are the scammers and don't want you to withdraw your own funds, to try and force you to trade on their platform for extremely high fees. To try and send crypto to another wallet you paste the wallet address (obviously) but then you click Preview and have to select 'Self-custody wallet' which then has 'Connect to Coinbase Wallet' or 'Small deposit test' as the options. Small deposit test doesn't do anything the screen doesn't fit on my iPhone X and the button looks like it's processing but it's not doing anything and freezes. The other option is to choose an 'Exchange' but loads of exchanges eg Binance, Bybit, Coinspot, Blockchain and loads of other exchanges are not options to select.
