customers are not valued – Have been with Coles car insurance for several years. The normal renewal letter changed to a cancellation letter for all customers since Sept 2024 due to new underwriter Auto and General taking over. Instead of making a smooth transition, they transfer you to the new agency where you have to start all over again and provide them with all of your… Read more
details and reapply for car insurance. This is a South African call centre. The catch is that after you have gone through this tedious process they tell you the annual premium amount WHICH HAS DOUBLED since the premium I paid with Coles for the same product 12 months ago. Terrible rip off. I told them that they must be losing a lot of customers due to this. I found another company and am now paying similar to my 2024 premium. Be careful though. Auto and general underwrite other popular Australian car insurance agencies, and their premiums are almost exactly the same. Pays to ask at the start who underwrites them so you don't waste time with the greedy corporates. NOTE: they try to tell you that you can save 15% if you do your own application online. So what! That is still 35% more expensive than what it should cost.
Got canceled without any communication – My car was insured with Coles car insurance for a year. I had the premium paid automatically out of my bank account. 2months ago the premium wasn't deducted so I called to ask why. The gentleman I spoke to said my insurance was canceled automatically, reason being they collaborated with a new insurer and all insurances needed to be renewed. So,… Read more
without knowing, (no emails, text, or any communication what so ever) I drove without being insured. The gentleman had the audacity to ask if I wanted to be put through with the new insurance people, without even acknowledging I have been driving uninsured. I firmly declined and went with AAMI. Very poor customer service don't waste your time and money.

Very very bad and poor service – Very very bad and poor services: On 27 October 2023, one lady driver hit my car and ran away so at that time I call coles insurance company and inform them about the incident, after that I call 000 police emergency number and give them all the incident report . When I get the information of the other car party on November 2023 from police then I… Read more
passed that information to the cole insurance company. So from that day till now the coles company are making excuses and want the same information again and again, otherwise I have provided the whole information but still they are making excuses that send me that and that. And till now my car is still damage. As I have to work and study. This was the first and last policy with coles. Very very very bad , terrible and poor services. I have called them 110times in this 5months but still got nothing.

the worst customer service – when you can understand what the indians are talking about, they are rude, and unhelpful, in many ways, even when i was doing my insurance or when I was in an accident and the other part has Coles as well. dont waste your time and money. Show details

Couldn't get worse – An absolute nightmare to deal with. If I could give a negative star rating it would be minus 5 stars. Had to go through Coles Insurance as their insured drove in to our car and damaged. Multiple phone calls (20+) and hours of my time wasted trying to get any sense out of the staff who quite clearly couldn't have been less interested or less… Read more
helpful. It seems that every possible delaying tactic is used to slow down the pay-out. Still waiting for my claim to be settled now in early August for a claim lodged in Mid April. Why does it take a week from the submission of my bank details to you for you to then pass the claim up to someone to authorise payment? You've agreed the cash settlement so just pay it. Now I have to wait at least another week to get my money from you and then only if "everything goes smoothly". If you were the last insurance company on earth I'd go uninsured rather than use you. So now you can get your bot to respond and tell me that you care. Your staff say the same thing but clearly none of you actually give a rat's. I hope that I never ever have to deal with your "Insurance" company again

terrible service – I had an accident which was not my fault and needed to go through Coles Insurance as it as the other party's insurer. Multiple phone interactions were needed due to Coles not sending emails or texts that they had promised to do. I always needed to follow up. It also appeared that they only examined the claim when I was on the phone to them - this… Read more
resulted in long delays and it was almost three moths before the car was actually booked for repair. This was a very simple situation where the other party backed into my parked car. I can only imagine the hassle if it had been more complicated. AVOID

Coles don't want to sell the insurance service for no reason? – I have being used Coles third party car insurance for many years on one of my car. I have never made claim on that. Now I want to buy this for an other car but Coles doesn't want to sell me that. I have no idea why they deny me. If I choose to online renew my first car (currently with Coles third party car insurance) it deny me as well, but they will renew it on the phone. That's absolutely weird and make me feel bad Show details

Coles insurance will shaft you – 1. Claim in since March 2. Claim approved and agreed on 3. Coles make excuse after excuse as to why they cant pay just yet 4. Multiple complaints, multiple phone calls - nothing 5. Look at all the bad reviews, do not sign up, they will shaft you. 6. The employees knowingly work for a shafty company - sad Show details

Hi there, thanks for your review. We've responded to your private message.
Cheap and nasty – Like many insurance companies Coles seems happy to take your money and will make this part of the process easy however try and cancel or change your policy and it's almost impossible. My car was written off due to someone crashing into it. I let the policy lapse as it was almost due anyway. Since then I have received constant emails from a Coles… Read more
NoReply address with a big button to renew. No other options. No links to change or cancel - only renew. I also cannot reply to the email. So I try and logon only to find that the one time password system doesn't work - i.e. you request a one-time-password and wait for ages for it to turn up. I finally receive it after waiting for so long, try and login and get taken for a long loop back to the login page where I'm told I need to request a one-time-password again. Out of frustration I call the contact number only to be told "we're too busy so use the web page to make changes". This insurance system provides a poor customer experience whereby they seem to be effective at taking your money, but extremely poor at everything else. You would think that by now the senior execs of these companies had figured this out.

My fault .lol. Are you serious??? – I was turning left and your client overtaking me for the left side and hit my car on left side. After i call them to claim about the accident . First I was waiting for more than 45 minutes. And I was shocked that I was to be claimed and reliable for the accident. WTH, What a joke. Disgraceful and disgusting. Will see you in court. On Hold - transferred - On Hold again repeat – My car was hit by someone insured by Coles insurance, I represented myself. It took 7 months to complete the claim. I had to constantly contact Coles Insurance, each time I contacted them nothing had progressed. They lost my documentation and evidence, I had to resend it. They told me they couldn’t decide who was liable, even though I had… Read more
sufficient evidence. I requested a review of the claim to by someone higher, (or I would seek legal assistance) eventually liability was decided correctly.
Every time I called I would wait on hold, once for 1 Hour and 45 minutes before someone answered, often told I needed to be transferred to another area then put on hold again! Only to repeat my situation over and over! ( Their call waits mentions how much they realise our time is valuable, what crap! )
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Basic cover at best price – I've just renewed my TPPD (third party property damage) policy. This cover is almost 10 years old, and I've never claimed. Price is very cheap. My car is 15 years old, and not worth a real lot ($5K maybe), and I've never claimed on insurance for over 40 years of driving.....I just want to be covered for the cheapest price, and Coles certainly does it. ($214pa) Show details · 1

RUDE, fraudulent inefficient and discriminatory – Never come across such a bunch of disorganised people in my life. First of all it takes them a month to accept liability for my husbands car damage, then they refuse to offer a hire car by fraudulently claiming my repairer had verified it fit for use. When I insisted that the car was not safe they offered a hire car. I tell them that my husband… Read more
can’t drive one as he is a learner and I get told to hire one for him in my name. So not my not do they make fraudulent claims, they invite clients to break the law and drive without insurance. I then call their underwriters ( INSURANCE AUSTRALIA GROUP LIMITED ) the receptionist calls me sir ( I politely inform them im female ) she apologises with a childish huff and then hangs up. I try to escalate this complaint and get passed around from pillar to post. I would advise anyone wishing to have a claim dealt with efficiently to steer clear of these people and any transgender people also to exercise caution. We have had enough and are filing with the anti discrimination board of NSW and also NCAT in Sydney.
