Excellant product disclosure statement at a reasonable price
Having sold insurance in the past, I know looking at the PDS and what you are covered and not covered for is the No1 rule. For the price it is one of the best products out there. I like the point that pets are covered up to $3000.00 if they cannot live in the home due to house being unlivable. Other polices cover a lot less than this. They also cover unlimited cost for debris removal as well. I have being told I can get an Air BNB if my house is not livable. I know for a fact all their calls are recorded as well. Yes they can be hard to reach but just make a claim online ((make sure you have plenty of photos of what is inside the house)) and it is a seamless process. Price point is about middle of the pack as well.
Deceptive and unreasonable
Insured with Comminsure for Home only. Paid for the policy for two years however during storms this winter a box gutter broke and water came in to the house. CBA allege that the storm didn't cause the water ingress. I point out that before the storm there wasn't any water ingress. They send an assessor who turns up without a ladder to inspect the box gutter. I lend him my ladder and after inspection he says he expects the claim will be honored. A week later another assessor turns up to over rule the first assessor. I would not trust this company to pay anyone and you may note that most of the good reviews are from years ago
The crappiest insurer
Quite pricey insurance. The product I had with CBA was for $1.1M with very less cover and it has now costed me less than than with Seniors Insurance with insured amount of $1.5M

All excuses in d book used by cba
I have been with cba for over 8 years now, never once did i make any claim (cause it was never required). Last month and the following forthnights due to all those stormy and damaging winds caused damages to my house. So i put in a claim with comminsure to get it repaired, instead of doing the real work which is fixing the customers issue they started looking for all type of excuses not to pass the claim.
Today a comminsure agent called me saying we have rejected your claim as the issue is caused due to improper work carried out during constr...uction of house. when I asked her further to explain it to me,she was like the builder who visited your house has said in his report that the damages are caused because of construction fault. I clearly remember that when I asked the builder that "how soon can you carry out the work". He was like cause the damages are not major i will be sending a report to the bank and they should get the work started soon as there is no reason for them to decline the claim. Never have I ever dealt with such pathetic and ridiculous organisation, and never again will I be dealing with CBA. Save yourself the trouble by NEVER going with coominsure again. Wish there was an option of 0 star.
Could not be happier with the service!
Roof and ceiling leak from a storm December 2019..... Just took me a while to post on product review.
Replaced my ceiling, ceiling vats, painted all ceilings and walls that were affected. Fixed roof and replaced my whirly bird.
Appointed builders were Patterson builders, amazing!
Professional, courteous, timely.
They are only good on increasing the monthly payment, NOTHING else.
Unfortunately, there is no option as zero star, one star just too much for them, my first claim was about my bore water pump broke, I was just bought the house then, they were asking me ridiculous requests, then they rejected my claim because I couldn't prove that the pump was working for more than ten years.
Second claim was that I had water leak because of a storm, they have even denied there was a storm (like if the storm was on house only), then they came up with silly reason, they said my solar system (which is on different side of my hou...se, far away end) what cause the leak not the storm, I've requested the decision to be reviewed again, I sent them a picture of my house roof showing that the solar system on side and the leak on other side, then they said the leak because of some broken tiles, I never had the leak problem before the storm, not even after. totally waste of my money and time, stay as away as you can from this provider.
They don't care about you at all
When we buy insurance, our least expectation is the insurance company supports us and our family, not leaving us alone with our problems. We pay insurance sometimes for several decades without claiming any request. But if once in a blue moon, we have an issue, we need to have a feeling that the insurance company will support us.

Horrible service,Do not waste your time and money
Been with them for 32 years made 1 claim of shower leak and it’s took 11 months for them to hand the bathroom back.
The whole experience was just horrible.
rang comminsure several times regarding all the issues and why it was taking so long but they were no helpful at all.
Builder and cba were not taking ownership for and thing.It was like a big joke to them and they did not care at all. If it takes them nearly 11 months just for a small claim god help people with bigger claims.
It takes 24hrs for a reply after any phone call taken. And then no one knows what they are doing.
Please before you purchase do your research they are the most expensive insurance provider and absolutely rubbish.

Terrible Customer Service- do not even go near this company to get an insurance
I have been with Commonwealth for some time and now just requested multiple times to change details of policy and promised me to provide the certificate of currency multiple times yet no response. This is even after 4 separate calls
An agent even apparently blaming their system that it was not working and promised he will call back within the same day yet again no call back.
I have to call back again and the same story and told me me someone will be calling me. I declined and told me them I don't trust them that they will call me because of...what happened and after more than 40 minutes on the phone, I have asked for the manager and the agent this time was really annoyed at me when I asked until what what time he wants to me to wait . She gave me such an attitude saying, you just need wait longer . I asked politely why she was doing that and seemed arguing with me and she told i was the one arguing with her. What a crappy customer service.. If that is even exist. I can;t believe CBA have gone this low in their customer service. I was previously proud that i was associated with CBA and now I will start distancing myself from these crappy company! Todate, I have not got any resolution, In the meantime I am cancelling my insurance with CBA.
Any small claim and up goes the premium
Switched to Comminsure a couple of years ago for home and contents insurance, and renewal arrived the other day. Went online to compare premium they quoted me (an existing customer) with premium quoted for a new customer (with exactly the same details), and new customer would get exactly same policy nearly $200 cheaper per annum. Phoned them to discuss. Because we made a small claim ($750 paid, half what we claimed) for food loss during the bushfires, our policy goes up $200 per year - apparently forever!!!! Serious??? Yes, that is how it works with CommInsure, and I am now looking for another insurer. Suggest you do also.
That's is a terrible home content insurance
I have been with this insurance for several years without any claim. I recently got my TV accidentally damaged by my boy (2.5 years old). I made a claiming form and then received a letter to increase my monthly fee. I think that is the way they get my money monthly and pay back to me when I have an accident. However, I just received a phone call from them that they don't pay for accidentally damaged claiming. Why do the insurance not pay for for accident damage and why do they just want to get more and more money from clients, but don't want to...pay any back to help clients when they are in need. Buying insurance is for safe when accidents occur. But not with Commonwealth Bank Insurance. I will not trust them and will stop from soon. Terrible service.
I've been with cba all my life, I. M 66,now after reading this review, I think I. M taking my money and going elsewhere. As for the insurance quote, I don't think I. Ll take their offer. Never heard such bad reviews

One star is too generous
I made the mistake of switching to this insurance co a few years ago. Their portable contents cover in the Home & Contents is very deceptive and incredibly confusing so even though I had read the PDS and thought my expensive multifocals were covered they weren't after I lost them out hiking.
I feel very ripped off and urge you not to even consider these charlatans if you are shopping around for home & contents insurance.
I've cancelled and moved to Bank of Melbourne insurance, their policies are clearer and cheaper.
Deceiving incompetent and beyond amateur
Absolutely rubbish service. One phone call in Six weeks and denied claim for water damage to bathroom area and en-suite. Use incompetent so called expert tradies who are useless and liars telling comminsure they have done work and haven’t. One claim in 17 years and they treat you like criminals. They are the worst company to deal with in anything and they have the gall to send emails and Facebook messages asking how you have enjoyed you’re experience.
Avoid these incompetent and deceptive fools at all costs.
Home and contents insured continuously for over 40 years. Owner is 84 years old, frail and a vulnerable individual.
3 claims ever made:
Claim 1: successful due to major storm damage due to 1998 Hail storms in Sydney. Comminsure replaces roof in 1999.
Claim 2: 2019 roof leaks rejected after internal inspection only. Assessor didn’t have a ladder. Rejected due to wear and tear and lack of maintenance.
Claim 3: March 2020 same roof leaks with worse internal damage. Assessed internally and from roof this time. Claim rejected due to faulty wor...kmanship on roof and flashings on roof being too short. I said roof was installed by comminsure in 1999, they said they no longer deal with that company and that they didn’t archive claim or file. They say they’ve since miraculously found the 1998 Claim and insist that we engaged the faulty builder. I asked them two weeks ago to email this claim and file from 1998/1999. I’m still waiting! They asked if we kept our own paperwork from 1998/1999. I said no. The rain continues to fall and the claim remains rejected.
Never in my life will I recommend this insurance company or bank again - the integration my husband and myself were put under - over our home been burnt down - lost everything- it has completing caused us stress near broke our marriage up - and to get a phone call saying there is a person of interest - we deferred our home loan during this process etc - and were rejected another home loan from them - the stress that it put us under and his children was surreal
If you like nightmares then go get comminsure insurance

Bad phone service
Rang to enquire about a claim at 1.45 pm Message said very busy 45 min wait with the option to call me back . Waited 90 mins to receive the call back then told to press 1 to accept the call . Nothing happen .Rang a further 3 times same thing a recording which did not connect. Rang the number again Been in a queue for another hour with no response. Wasted a whole afternoon trying to speak to a human . Bet if I wanted a quote I will get to speak to someone within minutes!
Appalling phone service
Very poor comm and denied unreasonably
Found them to be totally unresponsive and difficult to contact. Telephone contact is non existent for a claim. Claim was denied eventhough it was an accidental damage. Cancelling all my insurance with them.
They were really great exactly when I need them
I was with com bank mortgage and was too busy with arranging other stuff so mortgage broker did actually sorted out com insurance for me.
You never value insurance until you really need in help. On Saturday night bunch of kids(I hope) smashed my front windows. Com bank emergency claim service has sent me emergency glazier within 40 minutes. That's faster and the guy made it safe and secure at 1 am during this winter. On Monday they replaced my glasses and that's it. All is sorted in smooth transition. They cared my safety above all. Thank you!
Questions & Answers
Noticed wet beside our bathroom. Thought was just the shower basin leaking so thought no point claiming and time to rip out en suite. Husband just taking off tiles and copper pipe has a drip com ing from it and the wood structure of the wall is saturated and rotten! Cam we claim on buildings insurance?
