Worst ever customer service
They are really not responsive when you need them most ! I needed a currency certificate but it took long time in a queue to get the answer ( not successful after waiting 2 hours) .I'm so frustrated and desperate ! :(
God knows how would it be if I wanted to claim as I found no one responsive !
Please stay away from Comminsure
It has been a month since my wife had a car accident. The truck hit her from the back and the other driver admit that he is the at-fault driver. Third party policy with Comminsure, lodged the claim and nobody contact to help or finalise my claim. Need to contact the other party to ask for the claim numbers from their insurance. Contact the other insurance and got advise that they request Comminsure to send off the support documents, however Comminsure didn’t reply. Contact Comminsure and waited hopelessly on the phone over an hour several days ...still not reach them. Call to the sell department and they pick up the phone straight away then I made a formal complaint about their service. I got a call the next day and the officer promise to sort out within 48 hours. Now I am sitting and wait hopelessly again.
No response, no contact, no idea what's happening with my claim
Have been with Commonwealth insurance for 13 years. Placed my first 'ever' claim on 10 June, for my back fence which blew down in a storm. Someone came out to assess a few days later and I haven't heard anything since. I've tried to call, on hold for hours, no answer. Sent 5 emails, no response. Chatted with the online system - can't help, not my area. My neighbour is with RAC, who came out the same day to assess, and provided a temporary fence, then the funds were in their account within 3 days. I've even forwarded the quote received and the i...nvoice to Commonwealth (which I had to pay on the day of repair) and still, nothing. I've submitted a complaint, but can't imagine that will do any good. As soon as this claim is sorted, I'll be cancelling my cover and moving to RAC. Will also be considering moving my home loan and banking to another bank, which is sad given I've been with Commonwealth my entire banking life. Thanks for absolutely nothing Commonwealth!
Terrible Claim Experience. Stay Away!
I have been with CommInsure Home for three years and made my first claim. I made a claim for a leaking roof on Feb 2021. They had dragged it for about 5 months saying they have been waiting for some policy documents. The worst part is they have never called me to advise the progress. I had to make several phone calls to follow up - with no clear update on the progress. At the end, they said (I also called this time), they don't cover the claim because it is a building defect. It has taken them 5 months to reach decision; this should have taken only few days. They wasted my time and energy when I could have it repaired before it caused further damage. I am switching to another insurance.
Dont go with them, I repeat, DONT.
They dont mind taken Money of you but when it comes to a Claim, they are very quick to refuse it. I had nothing but bad experience with them, not only once what was a Life Insurance and I paid for years only to be told when I turned 65 the Policy no longer is in place now. What a waste of money.
Rediculous claim process
Apartment was flooded late March, and I called Comminsure to see what to do to claim, and they told me to fix everything and then claim. When I finally got someone to fix in late May and made the claim. This time the staff said they need to send a third company to investigate the damage first. Seriously??? It's been fixed already as they suggested and now they want to investigate the damage?
After arguing with the staff (who is very unfriendly), I provided all the support docs on 01/06. Clearly they mentioned in the auto-response email someon...e will get back to me with in 10 working days. Now is 1 month later , still haven't heard anything. During this time, I tried to call them a couple of times. First time, the auto-voice said I could leave a message and get callback in 45 mins, and no callback at all. Then I called another 3 times, each was told it's over 45 mins wait, and actually each time I waited over 3 hours and still couldn't get through. Are they serious about this? Who's got over 3 hours waiting on the line?? Finally this morning when I called again, it said the wait time is 4 -7 mins. It's been another 1 hour I'm on the phone waiting as of now. This is my first claim for the past 2 years with them, and definitely will be the last claim with them. I'll definitely stop buying insurance from them. Such a terrible service
Stay away from CBA insurance, seriously CBA should close the insurance department it totally destroy your reputation !!!
Been paying top dollars for 3 years on the investment building insurance, this month trying to make the first claim and you know what, sent 10 emails with no response, every time we call have to wait for 1-2 hours is this for real !? 9 out of 10 we have to hand up the call after 2 hours waiting.
Finally spoke to someone after 10x hours waiting on the line and all they do is trying to find whatever reasons to reject your claim. I had storm damage on the roof hence water leaking and they say I may not be able to claim due to some piping/box gut...ter not meeting the requirement, are you serious? Am I supposed to check all the piping and gutter box around the house and make sure they meet your requirements before buying the insurance? All I know I bought the house 3 years ago and been paying top money for your insurance and never had any issue or claim anything, I don’t think this is fair and I will take this case to fair trading for sure. Seriously CBA insurance, you should be ashamed of yourself. You make people less likely to do banking with CBA.

I made a claim in March as we had storm damage. June 23rd and 3 phone calls later. Finally got told the claim was denied due to flashing! Since when does rain run up the valley to leak in the pitch of the roof? I have to pay for another assessor as the previous one has no idea and pointed out a totally different area to the leak. After 30 years CommInsure I am going elsewhere never to return. You have lost my business and ultimately 1000’s of others. Save your money and go somewhere else and the heartache. Their only goal is to deny your claim.

Comminsure has been horrible to deal with. A week on from a major flood with houses unliveable and still no word.. they have lost everything and we have had no assistance from this company.
Would not recommend them at all!!!
Flooding vs hydrostatic pressure
March 2021 major storm event on the GC. Flooded the rear patio and uplifted the in-ground spa. What comes first Flooding or hydrostatic pressure? My argument is that the flooding that caused the uplift first not the other way around.
My initial claim was rejected. I took it to the next level which they now conceded there was a flooding issue and proposed 50/50 payout for the rectification work.
I am declining this offer based on my principles and will take this further up the chain for an amount less than $5k to fix.
I have waisted over $150k with Cominsure over so many years and this is absolutely appalling.
I am deeply disappointed with the assessors in an endeavour to appease the share holders for any loses.
Don't do it to yourself - Avoid
After the recent unprecedented storms, I have water damage to my house. Nearly 2 months have passed since my claim was lodged. My claim was handled bey a third party. After a parade of people including those who "patched" the roof with silicone, assessors which found the repair work etc. communication ground to a halt. I had the privilege of waiting in line for nearly an hour only to be fed an excuse to deny my claim. This is not an insurance policy - is it a sponsorship to a bank. I am taking by business elsewhere. It is a shame I can't give lower than one star
Still waiting on the phone
So after the storms in NSW in 2021 I made my one and only insurance claim as there was water damage to the house. Seems that a 1 in 100 year storm can bring a lot of rain and overcome the drainage and gutter system of this house which was built and approved in 2007.
Since the claim they have sent in an building assessor twice and a clean up crew once but I have not heard from comminsure on what the status is of my claim.
I have tried to call them on a number of occasions but they will keep me on hold for over an hour every time which is start...ing to wear thin hence I am doing this review while waiting on the phone again. They did send me an text but other than that I have not heard back at all. Someone from comminsure please call me back!
Very poor - Avoid
Very long wait times on the phone, never claimed before - they will ring and ask you if you have claimed before ! In time of need - when my house was leaking, came and put a tarp over the top - then took about 2 months to make a decision - only to reject your claim. Defintely one to steer clear of in my opinion.

After reading these reviews, I.m thinking of taking all my affairs out of cba....are they all true? I hope not,as I've been a bank customer since 1967 or 66....waiting for goodcreview

You should check the pds of the insurance policy that you have. Generally solar panels will be covered by your home insurance policy. If you have just installed solar panels, you may need to contact your insurer and increase the sum insured
Are plumbing leaks, steerage leaks covered?
if i am making a claim am i entitled to see the scope of works and the money value
