Conergy Pty Ltd has gone into liquidation and is unrelated to the current company, Kawa Australia Pty Ltd, who are trading as Conergy.
Shocking Solar – I had a Conenergy ( very appropriate name) Solar Hotwater system fitted in December 2010. It had a stainless steel tank so should last. Has started to leak. Under warranty 10 years yes? NO! Company out of business and no wonder looking at the reviews. Seems we all installed about the same time. At least no one else will be CONned. Show details

Very poor product – Purchased several years ago, have had the heat exchanger replaced once and repaired over and over again. Have been without it now for months, the plumber said he would weld it up and bring it back, now he wont answer our calls or texts. Complete waste of money, very disappointing. Poor effort by Laser plumbing Ballarat as well. Show details
Conergy TS Plus complete waste of money – System lasted 5 years then started leaking. No warranty and then found out the company folded in 2016 anyway. Stripped the head unit down to salvage the stainless steel tank and found that a damaged tank had been fitted in the first place FROM BRAND NEW!!! No wonder they went broke...
Conergy is crap and so is Solar Repairs in Perth who installed it – I bought a conergy solar hot water system in 2010, installed by Solar Repairs. It had a vitrous enamel tank, and i paid 1000 aud. more than comparative systems believing a German quality system would be worth it. After 4.5 years it started leaking and fortunately the tank could be replacing in warranty. However Solar Repair ([name removed])… Read more
convinced me to upgrade to a stainless tank for 400 aud extra.
3 years later it leaked again. There was no repair possible and I had to replace the system. I went with a different company because by now I did not believe anything [name removed] told me. I am convinced he knew all about the Conergy problems but tried to fleece me for a bit more money.
The new installers left the old tank on the ground for me to inspect. What was the problem? Well, there is a copper pipe plumbed straight into the S/S tank on a welded fitting. This fitting snapped off when I took the insulation off. On the front, the lid was fastened with mild steel screws. I am a Mechanical Engineer and I know this is an absolute no-no. The screws rusted because the galvanic corrosion caused by the different materials and a moist environment. Same with the weld neck.
This is a crap design and an even worse build and should never have made it onto a roof!
Do not deal with Solar Repairs!
Conergy 300l thermosyphon roof top thermal solar hot water system – Had the 300l Conergy roof top solar hot water system installed in August 2010. It was subsidised by the Queensland Government at the time. 26 October 2017. Just had the plumber out to service it and replace the sacrificial anode and thermostat. He advised that the outside surrounding insulation and covering is in very poor condition and there… Read more
is a leaking hose between the panels and the tank. He advised not to spend my money on replacing the parts, but to replace the full hot water system. I mentioned that it was only 7 years old. He replied that this is about the life of this Conergy brand. He quoted $3979.20 to replace and install with a top shelf Rheem. He advised that the leaking hose could burst at any time.
So I'm going ahead with the replacement.

A lemon from day one – We installed a Conergy closed loop glycol system, due to its anti freeze nature and cold Tassie winters. From day one we had problems...factory joints not part of the installation process leaking and then the heat exchanger sprung a leak within weeks. I want to say from the outset, the company that sold and installed the product has been… Read more
fantastic (and embarrassed). They have come to the party and repaired, at no charge, the factory joint leaks, two failed pumps and three failed heat exchangers, in some cases well past the warranty expiration. They have finally given up in exasperation (Conergy is in liquidation) and have offered to convert the system away from the Conergy brand, to something hopefully more durable, at cost. To date (touch wood) the collectors on the roof and hot water cylinder have remained trouble free.
Would not want to advise anyone to purchase this product – We had our Conergy water heater model number 400OC124 serial number 121109200954 installed 3 years ago in Feb 2014 when we built our new home BUT sadly we had to call the plumber to look at the heater problem pump problem 3 times until now it starts giving this rattling noise when you turn on the hot water and hardly any hot water flows… Read more
through... this is one item that I will never recommend this product to anyone...
Now that cooler days are approaching and one would want to use hot showers there you go
When you call the builder, he says that is not his problem and to contact the company .. the company now we have been told is closed.
So where do we go from here ..Is this what the company likes to hear about the review of their product.
February 5th 2018 Update: Not advising anyone to get it
I have this solar conergy hot water system.
Since them it has had issues. With temp above 25 deg the system darts with rattling noise when hot water is turned on
Water pressure reduces. Plumbers can do only do much. There’s no warranty after 12 months.
Now the company stopped supplying or closed down.
Pls do not purchase this product.
Do not use this company – My parents pensioners $15,000 down the drain people that work there not helpful at all from the beginning.. only sales person did backflips to sell us the product after that nothing.
Conergy home solar systems – Just don't go there. I now need to replace my entire roof solar system after 7 years due to complete breakdown of the panels which has left me in a dangerous position. Company filed for liquidation and so no warranty. How that company can still be out there canvassing for business is beyond me. There should be another star that says "Dangerous"
Rubbish and regret purchasing – 2nd electrical booster failure for a 4.5 year old on roof system. Tank too rusty and had tonbe replaced. Now fighting warranty claim with installer as Conergy out of business
DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT – Purchased 2 years ago. Complete failure of system. Called electrician. Inspection showed completely rusted out. Star rating should be just black. Previous experience with solar hws lasting 15 years. Because company has closed no warranty from new entity. I guess they will regret taking on this product. Attempting a claim through Consumer… Read more
Protection but dont hold out much hope. How can these units be imported without meeting Australian Standards. Three thousand dollars out of pocket. Cold showers whilst trying to get replacement delivered and installed to country area.
Worse then terrible – There is no point in giving any star rating as the equipment is a complete failure after 7 years the unit has died and has to be replaced . Now this is suppose to be good German technology what put this together well the Chinese could do a much better job then that. Plus not charge as much either , anyone reading this review is WELL warned not to… Read more
purchase one of these units as they will regret it and not only the replacement COST BUT THE INCONVENIENCE of the whole set up.
Another government failure! – A Conergy split system solar hot water system was installed December 2009 to replace an 25 year old electric system that never gave any problem and was still going strong when i replaced it with the Queensland Labor government sponsored Conergy system. At no point could you talk directly to Conergy during the installion process or when seeking… Read more
service. A management group were in control of the installation process with a sole contracted service technician for service and repairs. I understood that service agent was a "one man band" operation. As a result he was very busy and slow to respond to service calls. He was however quite pleasant and helpful once he could actually find time to attend to my problems.
The electric booster element failed and needed to be replaced about 4 months after installation.
Then there was reoccurring problem over a couple of years with the water failing to circulate from the tank to the panels on the roof. In the process of trying find the problem he replaced the solar pump and controller and a non return valve but the problem persisted. I found that tapping the side of the impeller housing would get it going for a while. Finally it got to the stage where even that would not fix it. Eventually the repair man discovered that the impeller bearing was a poor quality metal bearing and he replaced it with an impeller with a ceramic bearing.
All seemed well for a while.
Recently I arranged for a another company to carry out the "5 year" service which involved replacement of the sacrificial anode etc. A service agent connected to Conergy had written to me offering the service for $350 which was $75 dearer than the company I engaged.
At the service it as found that the anode was an odd size which they could not source. They also would need to find a wrench socket to fit the nut so they could remove the old anode.
Some weeks passed before they could sort the anode out, however in the meantime the solar pump stopped working entirely. I have now just replaced the solar pump and controller with a Solargain pump and controller at the cost of $880 which included the original service. Here's hoping that its more reliable than the Conergy junk.
This experience has been an annoying disaster which has turned me off solar energy systems.
Governments should never be involved in deals that involve the sourcing of hardware as it appears that they did not have the capacity to make a judgement about the quality of the equipment and made cost the sole factor. As a result the public have been "taken for a ride".
I will never get involved with government sponsored schemes like this again.

Bad System And Expensive To Boot – Wish I'd never gotten this system to begin with. Wrong installation by the plumber in rural area. They installed the wrong panels so every winter we had a cracked panel of which did get replaced free of charge, then after a few years we kept running out of hot water only to have plumbers travel an hour to come to fix it, they told me the box had… Read more
been installed upside down. A few years after that kept running out of hot water so rang the Conergy to find out they had changed hands. The plumber they send out charged me $80 to tell me they didn't know how to fix it and didn't want to touch it. So rang Conergy again to try and find someone else to fix the unit, and rang again, and again and again. Got some dude in head office and rang every day for about a week. Finally I got a call from [name removed] and feel free to give [name removed] a call with your problems on [contact number removed]. [name removed] told me he was on to it and was trying to find someone to fix my unit. Well after about 10 calls to and from [name removed] to ask what's going on the laid back response, felt like he couldn't care less. [name removed] finally pulled out his finger after I told him I wasn't happy and what was he doing about this got the plumbers that initially came and didn't want to touch the unit to call me and then they were asking me all these weird questions. I am so sick of dealing with it that I am about to replace the unit with a reputable company that operates in my town and has installed thousands of systems with a good rating. Hope this has been useful for you to decide that you don't want a Conergy unit.
Rubbish – Have a Conergy split system, the QLD Labor gov approved unit, should have known better.........Warranty no good, company gone, some parts available but no one knows how to fix them. Fixed pump myself, and had to flush the system out as sealant was blocking the coolant flow, now heat exchanger has spit and may have to make a new one as a… Read more
replacement seems impossible to find.......have taught myself how to fix it, Conergy, as said before CON is right.
Waste of money! – If I could give no stars I would! My unit is barely 2 years old, and after getting it serviced because the electric booster switch wouldn't work, the technician told me it the unit would be lucky to last another 12 months! What a piece of rubbish
Too good to be true – I have installed hot water heaters for over 25 years and have never installed a solar system. Simple maths 300L tank on your roof who fixes it when it goes in ten years time. How much raw materials go into making these crap items that the government is fooled into thinking that it's good for the environment. Australia is full of gas yet it's sold… Read more

Be careful out there as they all try ripping you off and it can be expensive – What a great day, or it would have been, I found out at midday that my roof mounted Conergy 300 Ltr solar tank has exploded or ruptured somehow. All has been great for 5 3/4 years but now that the warranty has expired and Conergy have run back to Germany to escape the mayhem they knew was coming, the system just up and spits the dummy. pleased to be the first in my street to get Solar Hot Water and a back to grid system but now its going to cost me another 4.5 to 5.5 grand to replace it. I had the impression that these tanks were good for 25 years so the retailer/installer tell you. Its a funny thing but everybody I had to deal with (when purchasing my two solar systems together) seller, Government federal and local, as well as the ACT main utility company all tried to rip me off or scam some sting along the way. I had to fight them all and win, but it seems not much point when inferior product are being passed off as great product. Stay away and buy ???

Wayne conenergy split system – Purchase the system 2010, work well for two years. We have had numerous repairs thermostat pump. Now running on off peak, because the señor is not working. I have had solar hot water systems on other dwellings, I am seriously considering getting rid of the ground tank and putting on a roof tank to solve the problem. No pumps to worry about.
Like many of these reviews my tank is reared 3 mths past the warrantee – Forget objective I have read these reviews regarding this product and having come home after three weeks away to find a split tank that has been leaking contiously I am now also expecting a huge water bill. Converge was supposed to be the best of German engineering however I believe they have misrepresented this product and supplied faulty… Read more
materials. The fact conergy has made no replies to all these post is a sad example of their complete lack of after sale service
I certainly plan to bad mouth them to anyone and everyone
Worst company I have ever dealt with – Had Conergy system installed by one of there installers, then when system failed I was told that it wasn't installed properly so warranty was void. Replaced with new panel, glass breaks 4 months later to find out glass is not part of warranty, went to have glass replace to find out panel in a complete system and can not be replaced. At no stage during both of my issues with conergy did they return any of my phone calls.
Needs repair every winter – Installed Conergy solar hot water 3 years ago... worst mistake ever! Within 3 months, the electric booster wasn't working - thermostat had to be changed out. 9 months later, the thermostat was broken again. 12 months later the element was replaced. Now 11 months later and the thermostat and element are stuffed again... free hot water??? Rubbish..… Read more
costing me hundreds of dollars every year for repairs as these parts are not covered by the warranty. Works well in summer but between April and November we only ever have lukewarm water and only 2 showers in any 1 day. The electric booster dies every year and solar repairs... if you can get any help from them... last time took 2 weeks and several calls to get someone out to fix it.... then they are just full of excuses of bad quality parts!... get a different supplier if your parts are rubbish!!!! Seriously considering a new system so I don't have to think every time i get in the shower if the water will be hot or not! SolarHart worked every day without an issue for 14 years prior to this.

Rubish product – Con is a very apt name for this product. Australian Hot water the installers made their money and are now non existent. Bad leak from a "non heat proof washer". Installation was shonky as well. Plumber has patched it up for now. It want last much longer, it is only 5 years 6 months old. In future stick with well known brands like solarhart. At least they should be around in the future.
THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY CRAP I had 300 ltr tank with sola panels put on the roof 26 november 2009 – This unit was replaced shortly after due to leaking tank this was replaced, under warranty. The 5 yr service was never done, this would have located the faulty tank, at 5yrs 4 months the water was running down the street. Small amounts of water had been running out for some months which I thought was normal. Photos taken by Hall @ Baum where sent… Read more
to you by the plumber YOUR reply was It was out of warranty. The hole was quite large would have taken quite some time to happen, I had to have it replaced with a RHEEM unit with a stainless steel tank, I feel there should be some compensation as these tanks should LAST LONGER. Reading reviews on GOOGLE & from plumbers I would NOT have used your product as the TANKS KEEP LEAKING on the reviews.
Junk. Run away and slap yourself for even considering this solar water heater – System was 2 years young (almost to the day) when the tank split, giving the roof tiles and guttering a very nice warm bath. The panels had 'lost' their solar absorbing coating as well according to the repairer. Plastic trim blew off in a storm months ago. A big CON-ergy for sure! The almost bankrupt parent company sold the Australian hot water… Read more

So after a procession of 3rd party sub-contractor buck passing, our HWS will be replaced under warranty.
If you like urban camping; heating your water via the stove, kettle or similar means and a cascading water feature on your roof, then this is the HWS for you!
Known in the trade as the 'grenade' of water heaters, barge poles have refused to make contact with, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
I would rate this system at half a star due to the aerodynamic design of the flying plastic trim.
Split Tank – Called the guys when the solar tank was leaking into the roof because the bolts had rusted through. This new system is less than 4 years old so it must have gone bad really quickly and I didn't notice. Service didn't even call me back and a rang our plumber who said these systems are a piece of junk and get it replaced before It costs me more money. Don't Bother. Would rate 0 if I could.
Australian sun too HOT – Constant hot water relief valve problems from day 1. Outer casing plastic joints are completely disintegrated after 5 years and service is non-existent. Being European is no recommendation for Australian environement.
Terrible product with terrible back up – This is a 300 litre 2 panel solar hot water system. The covering / insulation around the tank is made of poor quality plastic. Ours is three years old and falling apart, even though it comes with a full replacement 5 year warranty i had to hound conergy for weeks before they came good with a new tank ,but i had to pay the freight from brisbane to… Read more

Don't buy Conergy – Another split tank and no one wants to know. angry. Same time, solar power not working, inverter removed on warranty for cost of $300 + and removalists said running too hot because of cabinet installed in ! All Split Solar Hot water systems – Please note All split sola systems have pumps and a eclectic system to pump water from the roof panels to the tank !! tanks!! Problem is ALLWAYS the pump and /or electrical system not pumping hot water into the tank, on the ground below, Hot water Only rises! the pump forces the hot water into the tank , For all the sales rhetoric and research , the only fail safe hot water sola is a roof mounted tank and panel system ! because EVERY split sola system will fail at one point of time, its just a matter of time, electrics , pumps, temp senses and water !! Dont its just a matter of time, electrics , pumps, temp senses and water !!
I will never trust a Conergy product again – I purchased my Conergy solar hot water system back in 2009 when the government was giving away initiatives for homeowners to convert to more energy efficient water heating systems. I ordered my Conergy system through Solargain. To start with, the system was great. Always plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. After about a year I noticed I… Read more
had no hot water, I climbed onto the roof and found that my hot water tank was swollen and had almost split the outer casing in half. The plastic end caps were also split all the way around the tank and there was water leaking out of the tank. I called Solargain and they sent out their plumber. He removed the heating element. It had corroded so much that half of it was missing. He reinstalled a new one under warranty and the system then worked fine for another year and a half. Then it failed again. The element was replaced under warranty and the system worked fine for another couple of years before it failed again.
So far my hot water system is working, I just don't know how long for.
Another concern I have with my Conergy is the relief valve. From day one it has leaked drops of water constantly. I put an empty 2 littler ice-creme container underneath the valve and I am collecting about 1.8 litters of water a day.
I am disappointed with this product. It cost me thousands of dollars to purchase and it is not reliable. Works well when it is working Unreliable, failed three times, tank swollen, relief valve leaks

If I could give it zero stars I would. Poor quality, pass the buck blame game and warrantee dodgers, – A Conergy system unfortunately came with the house, panels rusted through with leaks, ends cracked had to have it serviced 3 times. the booster at the start of winter. The installers and Conergy are refusing to honour the warrantee on a unit 1 yr old. Issue is with consumer affairs and ACCC now. Need I say more, stay away.
Bad quality, bad warrantee service from Conergy, rude, condescending manager at Conergy.
Conergy Is Garbage – Our Conergy solar system has been repaired 3 times and now is not working. The systems seem to be rubbish. We have been told it is installed incorrectly/ our water quality is poor/ we have had a tank that was probably damaged before installation. Whatever, it is rubbish! They have not been helpful at all in rectifying these problems. We would never recommend them.
CONergy TS300 solar hot water – To put a very long story short i'm currently in the process of having the local guy come to inspect the third system that has failed. That's right, i did say third, so this will be the forth system in only 4.5 years from first install. I'm very unhappy to say the least, booster has failed in every tank (including this one) black plastic stripes… Read more
that run along the split case have completely fallen off, plastic ends of tank have cracked and allowed rain in every time and conergy have been anything but helpful every time i contact them about another failure. When i contacted conergy about the first tank that failed after only 18 months they told me that i would have to pay $300 odd just to have a new one sent up from brisbane (170km's from here). Not understanding my rights as a consumer at the time i negotiated that if they sent a replacement free of charge i would have my licenced plumber mate install at my own cost and had to hire a crane at$120p/h being a 2 story house. The third (current) system was replaced and installed by conergy contractors at no cost to me after i threatened to go to the accc. The contractor was very professional and did a great job at installing as well as keeping me in the loop. But like he told me at the time (10 months ago), if you start with a new piece of sh't it probably won't turn out to be gold!
Conergy TS 300 with Stainless Tank – Keeps overflowing and uses about 200 litres of water every time. What can one do. This occurs about every 2 to 3 weeks
