Huge disappointment of excess charge – We purchased timber flooring to install so as to match a patch (kitchen renovation) to the existing flooring, which was also purchased from Connollys some 10 years ago. We were charged $330, this being labour costs to move and access the pack and to move the packs back in. Doesn’t seem to be a good operating model where customers are charged… Read more

labour just so a business can sell their own stock/products.

Unfortunately we had no choice but to pay this so as to match the existing flooring.

I’ve never experienced this before, whereby a customer pays labour to the business for them to access their own stock to sell. Not a great customer experience by any means

Very underwhelmed – We purchased two timber floating shelves from Connellys. They arrived today…two lovely planks of wood and some bolts. No instructions as to how to install the shelves or any other equipment (brackets etc). The ‘shelves’ don’t even have holes in which to fit the bolts! EDIT: Connollys just phoned me offering their assistance. The man I spoke with was lovely and helpful. He alerted me to a video on their website that is a step-by-step tutorial of how to install the shelves. He also explained that the reason why the holes are not pre-drilled is because they need to be drilled to fit directly into the studs on the wall.

I would not recommend – All talk but once they have your money they don't care about how your finished floor looks. I have a hole in my floor they won't fix. The finish on my flooring has flaws on it that they say they can't see. The floors never look clean. I wish I had used someone else. Engineered flooring for my hallway and dinning room – I ripped up my old carpet in my hall way and found Baltic pine boards underneath. they had spaced apart by a few mill and where causing dust and stail smell to come through. after I fixed that and put down underfloor insulation and yellow tongue mdf I looked around for flooring places. I was not sure if I would use solid timber or engineered flooring. I looked at Tile importers and Tate Timber that seemed to be the most popular. Even though they where helpful they didn't have installers to do the Job. I asked a friend that was an architect and he said go to Connollys Timber. I went to see their show room and it was very impressive. I said it looked like you could have a reception place and hire it out on the weekends for wedding events non the less they had heard this from clients many times. I purchased BlackButt Engineered floor because it looked nice it was hard wareing and it had been coated at the factory 25 times which made it look very impressive. I rang around many installer to come and install the flooring but they where more expensive and some didn't ring back. One installer didn't know what underflooring insulation was and another was not sure how to install it right. When I rang them to come and install the flooring they had no problem booking in a day and keeping me informed. they came on the day and used secret nails and glued it down. I looks great.

Eight Years On – We had a Queensland Spotted Gum Timber Floor installed by Connolly's Timber in 2010. Eight years on it still looks beautiful and still has the Wow factor I wouldn't go anywhere else.

disappointing – Used unknown contractors to do the work. Promised to achieve a darker colour through tinting and floors somehow seemed lighter Hand prints and marks left all over finished painted walls scratches and fonts on skirting and walls. Absolutely Brilliant - Tassie Oak and Black Butt with a matt finish - Classy – Brilliant. No way would I risk floor boards to anyone else. waste you time and money on some "fly by nighter". Laying floorboards is not as easy as you think, it needs to be done by professionals with ALL the tools to do the job

Complete satisfaction – We chose Connollys to replace a floor that had been installed incorrectly. Found that Craig & Shaun were very helpful and the showroom excellent. We are extremely happy with the floor that was installed. A quality installation.

could do anything. Mechanical fixings at this point are critical. Was going to Ramset but Graig said NOOO! Need something like a Powers Spike bolt that had to be hand drilled and hand driven. 1200 of them in total. turn out to be easier and less painful than imagined. Ply is now fixed to the concrete forever. BTW use 15mm ply don't skimp on 12mm! if you do, you'll soon know why I have given this insight. Craig sold us the Bostick hardwood glue. Had a fit at the price at first, but after doing my homework, I can see that this was the best investment we could have made. This was a difficult job to do as DIY, and not for someone without skills. I am not from a trades background, so I am not typically the sort of person to do this sort of project. But the result is brilliant and my son and I feel we have achieve something substantial with our floor. BTW., took a week to lay given the extra time we took to carefully select our timber shades and lengths. We went for 10% wastage and had 12 boards left. Connellys were great and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them. Thanks guys.

Great Value – I used Connollys and I'm very happy of the purchase. I was fascinated by the amount of species of timber, and the guys were amazing. We just fell in love with, and opted for the Spotted Gum. I was amazed by Craig's honesty and customer service.

Still confused, we asked for their advice about which wood was best for us and they steered us to spotted gum with matt finish. They laid it on the day I needed them to, even though I know it took some juggling on their part. The floor layers did a great job mixing up the colours of the boards. They took off the skirting boards and the doors which needed a bit taken off the bottom.They got it all done in one long day.

10 days later we got it polished (we had to move out for a few days) and it really does look beautiful. An unexpected bonus is that it is very solid feeling and quiet to walk on, unlike floating floors.

The rest of the kitchen reno has been difficult but not the floor part!

The floors are Spotted Gum and look spectacular; they are a feature of our home. We had initially considered going with laminate or floating floors but are so pleased that we went with the real deal. are very hard to find, but the guys from Connollys met every timeline and did a fantastic job. Our floors are gorgeous, we absolutely love everything about them and we get constant comment from friends who visit. Since having our floors done we have been back and bought matching decking and after more great advice I was able to install it myself.
