consider a lower-grade or “rustic/CD-grade” product. The discrepancy between the showroom representation and the installed flooring is significant. The sample boards shown at the time of purchase did not accurately reflect the level of variation, defects or filler present in the supplied product. Based on my experience, what you see in the showroom may not reflect what you ultimately receive.

flooring-this was after reviewing several suppliers.Lifewood came out on tops: 1.Installation was punctual and flooring completed on time by an installer that really took pride in what he did -he started on time at 0700 so be prepared for some early days.The care he took and the net result was very pleasing. 2. preparation for laying the floor(removing the carpet or jack hammering up tiles) preceded the installation by agreement on dates which were kept to the letter.

Would not hesitate in recommending to others -they are a little more expensive but the Marri floor looks superb and absolutely no complaints at all .

had [Name Removed] came to our house to look at the issues after numerous contacts in February and March. He is very busy man and always involves in meeting. He made it clear that his assigned contractor will put us in priority to get it fixed by April the latest as we waited and no scheduled date in March. Again by end of April, I sent a message to ask to be in contact as I have not heard from his contractor. I was disappointed that we spent $43000 on beautiful flooring and given lifetime product warranty and only have them installed in less than 6 months that we are not getting look after but lots of chasing and no one has updated us what is going on.

From the very start of initially registering online the communications was between lifewood to us was excellent. As things were heating it was becoming very apparent lifewood was going to be probably our preferred installer.

So the wife was sent to visit the showroom to get some samples. She arrived home, bragging that she had recieved a good cuppa from the team at lifewood, but best of all she had a bag full of flooring samples. It wasnt hard to choose the colour after seeing these but one that did stand out from the rest of was the structure of how the board is made. The board is manufactured like a piece of ply except that the laminations are about 6mm thick and is totally made of bamboo and is very stable (resists cupping).

After some more communication the installation date was arranged and the countdown started. The day before installation was due to occur the goodies arrived on site. I offered to help but the delivery guy was quite insistent that I didnt need to give him a hand. Watching him unload was like watching oil pouring from an oil can. He just got in there and unloaded a butt load of 20kg boxes. If your into crossfit I reckon this guy would give you a good go for your money.

After a anxious sleep, the big day arrived. The team arrived right on time and got straight into it. They were easy to talk to and were happy to share their knowledge about the process of laying the floor. Day one was applying the dampcourse which is rolled on and then left to cure overnight.

Day two the boards started going down. And did they go down. The installers were like rats on steriods as they applied the glue to the concrete floor and then laid the bamboo on top. Its pretty remarkable to see how good the machining tolerances allow a flush fit without having to clamp the board together to obtain a tight fit.

The other important aspect is that the installers were meticulous in obtaining a good finish. It was evident that they were true professionals and took pride in their craftsmanship.

The total install took five days for a total of 186m2.

Would of liked to have had it in the bedrooms as well but this was due to loosing the rock paper scissors off to the rest of the family who wanted carpet in these areas. I did manage to get it installed in the walkin robes so maybe one day my lobbying will come to fruition!!

The finished product is a masterpiece, and for those that like the warmth of wood it definitely ticks all the boxes. For me I look at it every day and are still extremely satisfied that I chose lifewood to be our flooring of choice.

For those that are thinking of installing bamboo, I have no hesitation in highly recommending Lifewood. You wont be disappointed.

Not suitable for family with young kids – If you have young children, your beautiful floorboards will not last. Any item dropped by your kids WILL leave a dent. It's like this marri floorboards are made of low quality wood or plastic! The old section of our house with its 100 year old jarrah floorboards are so much more durable than lifewood! Very unhappy customer – Buyer beware!! I have never been more disappointed than with the installation and product of flooring by Lifewood. They have communication issues, the flooring was installed very poorly that it damaged the house, but importantly the actual product scratches and marks incredibly easily with some areas lifting and having splinters around the board… Read more

Glue everywhere and didn't finish the job – We had a large Marri job done by Lifewood. The quality of the lay was excellent but glue was left all over the floor. I spent hours trying to get it off myself and then asked Lifewood for advice on how to get it off which did not come and finally to come and remove it themselves. Slate up, timber down, in five days – The slate floor in our kitchen and family room was dark, bumpy, and decaying. When an accident marred the surface in the kitchen, we decided it was time for replacement. Lifewood were generous with their information and samples (we went for limewashed oak). We thought the slate removal would be noisy and dusty. Noisy, yes, but turning the aircon on forced the dust outside, and we had covered the blinds, so the dust only got on the protecting plastic. And none of the kitchen cabinetwork was damaged. Grinding the slab was quick, just a few high points to flatten out. And the laying of the floorboards was brisk.

All up, the refurbishment process took five days. And now our floor is light, smooth, and elegant. Most satisfactory.

Unhappy with the longevity of the product – We installed Spotted Gum floors in our new build. The product is beautiful and the installation was seamless, however after care following handover has been non existent. It has transformed my apartment – I renovated my old apartment, which was dated with old carpet on different levels. Lifewood installed a bamboo floor and acoustic insulation that totally transformed it to an up-market apartment of status.
