I have a 3 year old inbuilt hermitage. Has temperature control remote and has been absolutely amazing. It has recently stopped working. It will ignite and run for 5-10seconds then shuts off. It’s getting pretty cold now!!

Just had a new coonara lpg gas heater installed by a qualified gas fitter. Problem we/he has is it works perfectly when the glass front cover is off. But when the glass face and cover are installed the flame lasts about 10 secs then flames out. To all intents and purposes it looks like it is being blown out. Anyone else come across this problem before?

Hi Dave, I am having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?

Ultimately we got it solved. It was a 2 part fix. First we ditched the after market logs and used the ones that were supposed to be supplied with the unit (they came 6 months later, due to back order). But what really made a difference for us was removing the exterior cover plate on the exterior wall part of the flu outlet. It was bottling up the exhaust and snuffing the flame. Once we removed the cover plate and just had the flu pipe exit straight out into the open, it all worked fine. I'd say its a design flaw in the unit.

We have a Coonara Hermitage freestanding gas heater. It’s worked perfectly for about 20yrs but now the gas ignites then goes off then comes on etc. the fan is working. I googled and suggestion was to check the heat exchanger?

oh Tom I know exactly what you mean. I had to get a new ignition board which I did two years ago. Worked beautifully again after that but then i had it serviced this year and it has never worked since. I don't know what they did to it but it wont go. Back to your original question yes mine was same wouldn't ignite and stay on new electrical ignition board and it was as new

I have a Grange gas log Coonara. It was running okay, I had it serviced a week ago and carbon tested. It now does not work at all. Two tradies from the same organisation came out two days later and pulled it apart claiming it needs a new sensor and electronics board. The electronics board is only 2 years old. The tradies left it as is not working without giving a clear indication of the problem. It seems both sensor and board need to be replaced at more cost..but do I trust the same company? Anyone else have similar problems

Inbuilt or Freestanding? A qualified service technician will be able to replace it in either model for you.

Yes, you just pull it outwards with a little bit of force.

Hi, can the window of the coonara chateau be removed to get to the logs etc without having to remove the steel facia. My builder has installed a mantle over the top of the fascia as well. Please help!!

Our Coonara Gas Log heater changes itself on the remote. Eg I set at 21 degrees and it will go back to 15. I change it to 17 degrees when I leave the house and find it is on 21 degrees when I return. Drives us mad having to constantly monitor what is supposedly a quality product? Any suggestions/explanations appreciated. Alan S.

Answering to an old question, but in any case, we have a Coonara Grange and if your remote is similar to ours you will have two settings - automatic and manual. If you have it set on manual then it just "goes" - the intensity of the flame and fan increases the higher you set the temperature relative to the actual temperature, and once it reaches that temperature it just ticks over normally but it doesn't turn off.

However, on automatic, this setting is now referring to the 4 stage daily program - which means you can program your heater to ramp up or down according to four different time periods each day - if you haven't done this then it already exists as a default program. A normal program would be such: 6 am - 10 am: 18 degrees, 10 am - 5 pm: 16 degrees, 5 pm - 10 pm: 21 degrees, 10 pm - 6 am: 16 degrees. When in automatic mode you can also manually adjust the temperature during that stage - so if it reaches a pre-defined cutoff of 21 degrees at 8 pm it will turn off, but you can ramp the temp up more to keep the heater going without having to turn off the 4 stage program. I think you have your remote in auto and are temporarily interrupting the setting during that particular cycle (which is what we do). In other words, while you have it in auto, if the programmed setting for 6 am to 10 am is 18 degrees and you come into the lounge to find the heater has heated the room to 18 C (and turned off) but you are finding it still too cold for your liking, you can just push the temp arrow up to, say, 21 C and leave it at that, but just know that when 10 am ticks over it will shift down to 16 C because that is what the next cycle has been predefined at. It is actually easier to leave it in auto and manually adjust the temp in that mode. We were equally confused at the start and thought it was dumb but it actually works better for us because as we both work typical work hours we just let the heater "do it's thing" and if we want a bit more heat in the morning we can push it up a bit knowing that we when walk out the door it will turn off at 10 am and tick over periodically at 16 C until the late afternoon arrives. Hope that helps and sorry for the long winded explanation!!

I have an Inbuilt LPG Coonara Space Heater and would like to make use of it for the first time this year. During the time the space heater was not being used, we had a small mouse invasion in the house. When I turned on the unit there was some unpleasant sounds of fan blades hitting something solid. I turned the unit off straight away and proceeded to work out how I could clear the obstruction. Well, you have me stumped. Is there anyway of getting to fan so I can clear the obstruction (suspected mummified mouse) and clean the fan?

Where can I obtain a picture of the back of the control switches on a Coonara Hermitage please. My son took off the front to check the logs and unplugged all the wires on the switches, by mistake, and we don't know where they go. The wiring diagram isn't colour coded and is very confusing. I would be extremely grateful if someone could post a picture for me. Best regards, Ian
