Creswick Woollen Mills, Creswick, Victoria. Do not recommend buying from them online. Placed online order 29 June 2025 for a blanket. Website all very professional and shipping states : ‘How quickly do we ship? Once your order is processed,… Read more

which takes up to 3 – 5 business days, it will be shipped from our warehouse in Creswick, Victoria. The delivery time may vary based on your location.’

Received email confirming my order on 29 June and included in email was ‘please be aware that due to an unexpected surge in demand, your delivery may be delayed by a few days.’

Waited until 5th business day as per their shipping details and order was showing ‘unfulfilled’ on website, so I sent an email on 8 July and received generic email reply. ‘Due to the high demand for this item, there is a slight delay with the blanket. We’re expecting an additional 2-3 weeks wait time before it’s ready for dispatch.’

Waited the allotted time and order still unfulfilled, so on 29 July sent email to formally raise a complaint and requested a full refund to be paid within 7 days, due on 5 August, or will be contacting Consumer and Business Services SA.

Lo and behold on the 7th day received email saying order had been shipped. Received delivery on 8 August.

I could have driven to Victoria, bought a blanket from Creswick and driven back within 2 days.

Often we hear that we should buy Australian made and here is a classic example why not to buy. The blanket label states 100% Australian Merino Wool made in China for Creswick!

Orders from online companies supplied in China arrive within 10 business days.

What does that say about online shopping with Creswick Woollen Mills?

Follow-up  · Follow up questions ... * What would improve their online experience? Be honest with their delivery time listed under shipping information. * What was your first reaction to delays? Website very deceiving regarding shipping. They sent email after 8 business days to say additional wait time 2 to 3 weeks before dispatching. * How did the refund… Read more

Ordered over $600 worth of goods on July 6th. In our 3rd week and the order has still not been processed. Emailed requesting an ETA as part of the order was a birthday gift required for Tuesday 15/7 and advising of the birthday date requirement. I received a generic email saying how busy they are as its peak season. Terrible service. Ive received… Read more

a $75 bonus reminder to use before expiry this evening. As if I'm going to give these people any more money when I haven't even had my initial order processed. Save your time, money and stress and shop elsewhere.

Appalling online customer service. I inquired via email when my order will be sent, as it has been three days, and I got a form letter reply. That was yesterday. Today Fri 11 July 2025, I emailed again asking when my order will be sent, and was sent the same copy and paste reply: "Thank you for shopping with us, and for your order #-------! We… Read more

truly appreciate your support.

I purchased my Lana Luxury King Mattress over two years ago from Creswick Healesville. I must say it is the most comfortable bed I have ever had and sleep so well that I look forward to going to bed. Easy to rotate every couple of months. It still looks like new. Buy one, you will love yours too. Show details

I ordered an Alpaca blanket for the wedding of my brother to bring over to Germany. There was a delay on the delivery as the blanket was a smaller size and had to specially be made. When I called to check on the delivery status, Zanne from Support team was super helpful and asked the production team to speed up the process so I would receive the… Read more

Yesterday we purchased our second al paca throw, @$199 a piece. The previous shop in Elsternwick had closed, so my wife and I purchased it at the he Camberwell store. We were also considering possum jumpers ($545 each) and scarfs. The products are excellent quality, BUT the service from shop manager at Camberwell (‘[Name Removed]’) was atrocious.… Read more

She’s arrogant, spoke down to us, spoke over me, and was utterly obstreperous. Like a scene out of [Name Removed] & [Name Removed]. She’d be better off at a $2 shop. When we got home we saw that [Name Removed] had also overcharged us $20; 4 phone calls later over 2 hours with [Name Removed] berating me and ultimately hanging up on me I got nowhere. I escalated the matter to head office, who were apologetic and unhappy with [Name Removed]’s conduct, though we are yet to see how this disgraceful behaviour will be averted in future. If you’re going to the Camberwell store, avoid [Name Removed], check everything, and if not satisfied walk out and complain to head office. What a sad story, an Aussie company trying to compete with cheap Chinese or Vietnamese imports, dragged down by its inept staff.

Lacklustre – Nice manner on phone. In store, casual approach, incredible lack of availability, variety. Wanted two plain natural/cream wool or alpaca dble/queen blankets. Wd think a major seller, but they had None in stock, and wanted to charge delivery fee. I wanted delivery BEcause they dint have in store. Manager knowledgeable and attentive after long wait… Read more

while she had what sounded like a personal conversation on phone, lengthy. Never heard of Glen cree - felt they wd have wide knowledge of industry. In all, a disappointing experience. Felt i was overcharged compared with prices i had seen online. $1223

I GOT THE PREMIUM FULL ALPACA DOUBLE DOONA IN SUPER KING VERY $$$$$ – I emailed firstly to query. I suffer chronic pain, and can’t have weight on me, nor can I shake feathers around to even them. I had a good quality “Wool” but it didn’t reach over the bed cradles at the end of my bed. I am young but on a Level 4 Aged Care Package, so they were fully aware that I would have to purchase from my Package Funds, as… Read more

I am only on Disability Pension.

In a Super King Size, which I then also need to pay someone to custom fit it for my bed, and the top item so very $$$$$.

So disappointed that not long afterwards my Doona is on sale about $400 less. It’s awful, companies think “Oh the Govt are paying “ ... but it’s not like that. Sometimes one has to cut down on hours for a Carer to come and help, to get enough money for a necessary purchase.

So, to someone who can afford to pay for such an expensive item it wouldn’t matter. But to me... that is 10 hours of Personal Care from a professional Carer.

Every company I deal with, always let me know if something is coming up on sale in the next month....... The Doonas arrived but I didn’t have a quilt cover made yet, so I only tested it for a couple of nights and had night sweats. So, I will know for certain soon.

It’s sad that they didn’t let me know to hold out.... or offer a blanket as a gift because I got charged the full on rate.... I need a blanket, so that would help me a lot.........

Poor quality – Purchased Alpaca blanket found it had oil stain and was not over locked correctly, was told it was a second and was put in wrong location. After 3 weeks a replacement came by mail, it also was not over locked in places and corner was not stitched correctly. Manager continued to tell me the girls had been doing the job for 30yrs and took great… Read more

pride in there work. We returned the item to the Mill (1.5 hr drive) and the blanket was over locked and re-stitched. The employee who stitched blanket continued to tell us how they took great pride in there work and had being doing the job for 27 years, no apologies for our inconvenience obviously how dare we complain.

Well Creswick Woolen Mills if it was stitched correctly then the whole blanket wouldn't need to be re-done. Very Poor for a $649 blanket. Wont be back!

Disappointed – Ordered an alpaca plush toy online. I was hopeful to get what was asked for because I had been into the store and there were dozens of alpaca plush toys to choose from where I purchased one in white. Unfortunately although I said my daughter already had a white one and to please send a brown (or any other) a white one was sent. Any other colour… Read more

would have been nice when I saw so many other varieties when I visited. I would also mention the one I purchased instore is alot softer. I don't know why? They aren't cheap to buy so I wouldn't take this gamble online again. I was planning on purchasing one of every colour I could for my daughter and starting up a collection for my younger daughter also, but I'll give it a miss now.

Poor product & customer service – I purchased one of their products, alpaca booties, and after 3 months of wear the soles tore and came away from the boot. After contacting their customer relations they did everything but accuse me of misuse of the product, blaming me for the product failing. Citing narrow design, indoor use and time passed as possible reasons for the product… Read more

failing. Their solution was to offer a discount on buying another pair.

I’m sorry but this is not good enough. You can’t honestly say that the life expectancy of these footwear is 3 months? A pair of socks last longer. Under Australian consumer affairs law I am entitled to a full refund for a faulty product. This company has such poor customer service that they think they are above this law.

I would not recommend buying anything else from this company.

Made in China posing as Aussie – another company living off a good reputation. The reasons it was made a household name in the first place have left i.e the items are made overseas now. The items still cost a fortune though.

Feeling Ripped Off – We visited Creswick Woollen Mills yesterday and purchased two scarves. Underneath the Creswick Pure Wool Labels was another label stating 100% wool, Made in China! The scarves were pretty pricey and had we known they were made in China we'd never have purchased them. Not good enough Creswick Woollen Mills!!

Products good but exchange policy disappointing – We ordered an alpaca/wool blanket and cotton blanket from Creswick. They are both great quality but we were a bit unhappy with the colour of the cotton blanket compared to that shown on the website - it had more blue in it than silver. However the exchange policy is that you have to pay for all postage associated with the exchange, which makes it hardly worth doing so. A shame, as it left a bad taste in our mouths.

Truly horrendous experience – I bought a rug as a gift and was offered a shipping service. They didn't mention the huge customs charges at the other end even though aware of them. They messed up the details on the order then didn't ship the item so it didn't arrive in time. I had to call them to find out where my item was. Refused to answer my emails or apologise and only… Read more

Amazing Australian Made Alpaca – I can't believe how soft and cuddly my new Alpaca throw is. After sleeping at my friends place under an Alpaca Blanket I started to research Alpaca products. The light & warm fabric was so lovely to cuddle. I found a Creme Herringbone throw rug online. Great to find Australian Made online! Soft, light, warm & cuddly. Not the cheapest throw rug I ever bought. But high quality & Australian Made!!!!
