I am a very good investigator; I observe, analyse, and conclude. Car dealers and politicians have one thing in common: they don't deliver value for money. They take your money and give you the keys, an easier, lazier job in the world. they don't even read the instruction book of any car they sell. Their trade-in value for any car is deplorable.… Read more
They over stock one year then delay new models year until they sell their older models stock, no wonder people are buying alternative brands. Buy only after August, if in December, then buy a demonstrator or a discount at the end of the year stock.
I bought a second hand car of crick’s. Car was delivered not to my address as organised but to another car yard in tweed heads. When I finally tracked it down the owners of the tweed car yard had zero communication from crick’s about this delivery. Car arrived with the wrong spare key. The follow up with them on this was an absolute joke. Total amateurs. Avoid them like the plague.
I would give ZERO service stars if that was an option. They should stop serving coffee and start focusing on core business. My car was in (a queue) at 7.30am and promised for midday. After receiving no call by 2pm I rang to be told there was a 'miscommunication' and it would not be ready until 3.30pm. I arrived at 4pm having had to call on a… Read more
friend for a lift because it was peak hour for Uber. Still not ready on arrival. Appalling service. Not only over 4 hours late but I now have no confidence in the mechanical aspects. The business is about shoving as many cars through as possible in a day - not quality workmanship and excellent service. Never again. Women beware.
I bought a second hand car of them when they were on Caloundra road. They bodgied the roadworthy certificate and gave it to me with four separate tyres on it. I’m glad someone with a bit of motoring background spotted it and let me know asap. Tread with absolute caution Show details
Typically they can't get your money off you quick enough and then the fun starts...SERVICING your purchase. I recently had my first annual service carried out on the new vehicle. There were 2 problems...an issue with the poorly performing Apple car… Read more
play and poor acceleration off the mark. Both issues were described in written form and my phone was left in the car to assist which was agreed and understood by the service team. The car was dropped in at 9am and we, partner and I, were duly dropped off at Sunshine Plaza. It was clearly explained to the service desk that they were to contact my partner for pick up as my phone was with the car. So no contact...no nothing. We got the last shuttle back at 3.30pm. The SERVICE consultant then explained that nothing had been done with either the head unit or the acceleration issue. They said that they took it for a spin and yes there was hesitation but would should I, or could I, expect from such a small turbocharger? Clearly, all they did was the book SERVICE, oils, filters and checks and thats it!!! Unbelievably a message was left on my phone...which was languishing in the car...aargh! So were screwed around for all that time wandering around the shopping centre and then up for a $440 charge for a less than 1500cc vehicle SERVICE. I made my feelings clear and concise to both the manufacturer and Cricks through their respective survey nonsense process. Not an apology or how do you do from either. APPALLING, APPALLING, APPALLING...be warned, you may be next!!!
Follow-up · And so it goes...after promised follow up by both organisations, Skoda Australia and Cricks, not a peep, not a how do you do...nothing. What is the point of a 7 year warranty, which was a weighty lure, if what you get is determined by lack of action by both the Australian importer/distributor and then followed up with zero action by Cricks the vendor...quite shameful really! The term 'buyer beware' is fully appropriate here...
WOW!! Just too much poor service to report all round with the awful service provided on both attempting to buy and trade with the car being in a poor state on viewing and offering an insanely low trade figure that was extremely low compared with 2 0thers sourced by dealers with our car being picked apart for minor defects! obviously inexperienced car sales rep out to do their dirty work as the young girl had no clue. Never again as attitudes were shocking!! The car we looked at had dints, scratches, chips and scrapes on front alloy wheels and was presented in this state at top dollars! Extremely bad vibes all round! Don't know how they are still in business!
Made a service booking, received written confirmation from Cricks of the booking date and time, turned up at the appointed time and was advised that I didn't have a booking. Zero prior communication. Mistakes can happen, but what was most irritating was the "blame the customer" attitude. I had to prove that I had written confirmation of a booking… Read more
but then got the "someone would have called you" (ie, it's your fault) excuse. As if I would turn up precisely on time for a service booking I knew was cancelled??
So I "Drove Away Angry" at Cricks failing to keep a confirmed booking, failing to compromise, failing to accept any responsibility, and having wasted 2 hours of my day. Cricks service ... zero compromise, zero responsibility, zero communication and a "blame the customer" attitude. Way to grow a business.
"we'd prefer you used finance. We're a business, we can't just put $16,000 under the desk." As if I was going to pay in $100 notes! Unless you're using their finance, which they obviously get a big kickback from, they don't want to know you. Show details
I purchased a second-hand car from Cricks Sugar Road, and it has been a frustrating experience from the start. Within weeks of buying the car, I noticed issues and contacted the service centre, only to be told to wait until my scheduled service conveniently pushing me outside the mandatory warranty period for used cars bought from a dealership in… Read more
QLD. Thankfully, I have the Platinum+ warranty, because this Holden Cruze has been an absolute lemon.
The customer service has been a roller coaster. The initial service agent was dismissive, not listening to my concerns or acknowledging that these issues had been present since day one. It wasn’t until the manager got involved that things started getting sorted, he was fantastic and ensured everything was fixed free of charge. However, the experience didn’t improve from there.
I was told to bring my car in for repairs, which would take a maximum of six hours, and that I’d receive a phone call when it was ready. That call never came. I arrived before closing only to be told my car wasn’t ready. The next day, I returned, and the issue still wasn’t fixed. I was then informed that the required parts hadn’t even arrived yet and that there would be a two-week wait. After five separate visits, multiple parts were replaced under warranty only for my check engine light to come on five minutes after leaving the service centre.
I called Cricks back, and they told me I’d need to book it in again for a full day just to scan the fault, a process that takes minutes. When I brought it in, I was then told they “don’t really deal with Holdens” and that I’d need to take it to Holden Caloundra instead. Odd, considering they sold me the car.
Now I’m dealing with Holden Caloundra, and their service has been incredible. They diagnosed that the O2 sensor Cricks had installed wasn’t a genuine part (funny that, since it had supposedly come from Melbourne). They had to wait for Cricks’ approval to get it replaced under warranty. After a two-week delay, purely waiting on that approval the sensor was finally replaced properly.
But the same day I brought the car in, it also blew a water pump along with a few other problems. Holden Caloundra tried to contact Cricks three times to get the repairs approved under my Platinum warranty. I also called Cricks twice myself to try and get in contact with Nick, the servicing manager. After 24 hours and multiple attempts, he still hasn’t returned a single call or responded in any way.
Where’s this “great customer service”? It’s a joke. I do not recommend Cricks Maroochydore at all.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Dishonest, Negligent & Untrustworthy – Avoid Gary Crick's Maroochydore & Subaru Australia – My experience with Gary Crick's Maroochydore has been nothing short of appalling, and Subaru Australia’s failure to take responsibility only makes it worse. I took my Subaru Outback in for service on July 16, 2024, reporting an intermittent clunking noise in the automatic gears—a well-documented issue with these vehicles. Instead of addressing my… Read more
concerns, Nick dismissed them outright, even making condescending remarks like “Oh, intermittent—now that’s a good word!” and “Don’t believe everything you read!”
At the end of the service, I was handed a fraudulent report claiming my car had been test-driven and that no issues were found. However, I had taken photos of the mileage before and immediately after the service—and there was NO change. They never drove the car, yet lied and claimed they had.
To make matters worse, the Manager assured me he would call to have my car properly assessed—yet to this day, I have never heard from him. This level of dishonesty, negligence, and blatant deception is disgraceful.
Despite repeatedly raising the issue, the dealership refuses to take responsibility, and Subaru Australia has been just as unhelpful. My car still has not been reviewed or assessed.
I have lost all confidence in Subaru as a brand and strongly urge others to avoid Gary Crick's Maroochydore. IF you value honesty, professionalism, and real service for your money, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
Problem solved with careful attention to detail – I had the Bluetooth device for the phone updated some weeks ago for my VW Polo. Made my experience a good one! – Jarrod swaine sold me my VW T-CROSS in July 2023 and apart from absolutely loving my new car, jarrod is a lovely genuine person that listens to your needs and was very helpful throughout entire process! Jarrod is a gentleman and made my experience five star! He always remembers our names when we bump into him in the service department and has a lovely friendly manner! Great work Jarrod!
Go elsewhere – Just dreadful I waited weeks for an appointment to have my damaged (in an accident) Captur looked at and after they had it for 10 days , still no quote was forthcoming and the insurance company ended up towing it to another mechanic Seriously if you are thinking of buying a car from these people.. reconsider , or at least have a plan to have it… Read more

Excellent problem solving skills – A big shout out to Tony at Cricks service department for persevering to get my left window washer to work correctly. Tony even came and got my car so I did not have to go to the dealership again as there had been multiple attempts to try to fix the issue! Thank you one very happy customer :-) Show details
Charged to replace Rotors - not required – We were recently charged in excess of $1,800 from Cricks Sunshine Coast for a Service and replacement of Rotors. Their explanation was that the brake pads were so low that they damaged the Rotors. When questioned (due to their being no symptoms of rotor damage with the car) they were rude and arrogant. I requested they provide me with the old… Read more
Rotors and they only gave us one. After a look from a third party, we were told to obtain a second opinion as the Rotor was not damaged and able to be shaved. We will never service our car at Cricks again. After a tough Christmas then to be taken advantage of by these mechanics has left a sour taste.
Happy with their service – We purchased a new car this year from Cricks, and I was happy with their service. Firstly they did not pressure us, even though 4 months passed between first enquiry and purchase. They also tried to sell us upgrades but backed off immediately when we declined. Lastly, the sales representative made himself available for a test drive, and again a few weeks later to demonstrate the self-park functionality. Show details
Disappointing – My experience is with the service department on Wises Road. The team at the front desk are doing their best. Mechanics in the workshop are deeply incompetent. Took them three attempts to meet some simple service requests. I drove away with the wrong size tyres and still don’t know if they checked the battery. Never going back. Show details
Good professional & personable service – I would normally use a car broker to buy my cars for me but this time I went all out and decided to go to Garry Cricks Used Car Dealership in Sugar Rd Maroochydore and to my surprise when I arrived I was greeted by a very energetic guy called Matt in the used car section . Thankyou Matt for making the experience of buying a used car feel really positive and enjoyable ! I will definitely be back for my next car in the future .
Worst dealership on earth – They bluster fib change their minds and do anything they can to make things out to be your fault and sell you things you dont need. Find a dealer where you get to speak to the mechanic not a customer service person who is their to simply upsell you. I will never ever set foot in any of their dealerships. Stress-inducing customer service – Have been meaning for some time to leave this review. I don't like to post negative reviews, but this experience really needs to be shared in the hope that Cricks does better with their customer service. I have an older Honda CRV (2006 model). As such I hesitated to book it into Cricks for a radiator flush and fill last December. My initial… Read more
thought was to buy the Honda coolant and get another mechanic to do the job, but being only 2 weeks from Christmas everyone was busy.
I booked in and was very happy with my initial experience with their customer service team. However as I was driving home I noticed there was only incredibly hot air coming out of my air vents (air con on or off). I thought it was perhaps just something momentary, but when the problem persisted throughout the day I rang Cricks...and that's when 2 days of what ultimately became a traumatic experience for me started.
As a woman in her early 50s I have 30 years of experience dealing with mechanics. In that time I have always had a positive experience. If there was a problem after a job there was never any argument, but rather a "sure, I'll have a look at that". (Although I would add I've very rarely if ever had a problem after mechanical work).
I rang Cricks suggesting that perhaps something had been knocked while the flush was taking place, and asked if someone could have a quick look at my vehicle (it was after all a very hot summer and the car was almost unbearable to drive).
I was initially told the vehicle couldn't be looked at for 10 days. Due to the heat I politely persisted. It was then that the push back and innuendo started. I was basically told outright that I must have knowingly brought them a vehicle with a problem. It was heavily insinuated (pretty much said) that I was trying to put one over them to get a problem with my vehicle fixed. It became VERY VERY stressful to ring them, but due to the heat in my vehicle I had no choice. If local mechanics hadn't been busy for Christmas I would gladly have paid to get it locked at to avoid the trauma dealing with this company was starting to cause.
I asked to talk to the manager of their service team, assuming they would be much more diplomatic in their response. I was wrong. Instead the rhetoric continued - it was an older vehicle and I must have knowingly brought in a problem I was trying to get them to fix under the guise of this complaint. I was begrudgingly told they could look at it ASAP, but I would be paying for anything found to be attributed to the fact I had an older vehicle.
Due to the stress of dealing with these people I had barely slept the night before, so it was another 24 hours before I took the vehicle in. The vehicle was looked at and I was out the door within 30 minutes. I was NOT given an apology for the way I was treated. I was not even given the paperwork the manager had in his hand that no doubt detailed what work had been done (and I didn't ask for it as I was just keen to collect my vehicle and go). Instead he mutted something about a clamp needed tightening- some clamp to do with the heater. Quite clearly the problem was at their end otherwise I have no doubt based on my experience of the previous 2 days that I would have been subject to a verbal dressing down and a bill. Instead my keys were handed to me and I drove home with a now cold air-conditioner.
I am a confident, strong, intelligent woman who knows more about cars than the average woman. I should NOT have had to go through almost PTSD inducing levels of stress to have a mechanic take a quick look at a problem. I previously owned a new Mazda and no problem was too small when I dealt with the Maxda dealership service centre. Needless to say I know one company I would never dream of purchasing from or getting any vehicle serviced at.
It's taken some time to post this review because at the time I was just happy to be done with the experience. But seriously...how hard is it for a well-established and no doubt profitable business to treat people with respect, courtesy and care? Please learn to do better Cricks. I seriously suggest some customer service training.
Excellent opportunity and service – Cameron was superb service was excellent no pressure very helpful and understanding will seek him out on my next trade Show details
Do not trust them – Salesman and finance guys will look friendly and amicable. However do not trust them for a second. Finance will try to drag you into a loan that will charge you even for the air you breathe, even if you don’t need it. I went there recommended by a “friend” and ended up screwed. You will end up paying a lot more for a car that is not worth that much. Show details

Terrible service. Platinum warranty is a joke – Bought a reused VW Tiguan from Cricks Maroochydore in 2018 with 6 years platinum warranty. I have no complaints about the car itself but every time I drop it off for regular servicing, it seems to pick up some problem or the other as soon as it is out of the service centre. Have noted this to be a repetitive issue and the service advisors don't… Read more
seem to acknowledge it and try to pass it on as unrelated. Twice now, I've had the engine light turn on within a day of service and the advisor keeps getting defensive trying to make a sale out of it without even diagnosing the issue which absolutely turns me off. By their logic, if the car was alright, it doesn't matter if the warning light came off soon after it went out of their service center and the standard line is the problem could be unrelated.
Last time, a perfectly fine car battery went dead in the service centre (that I got replaced elsewhere) and the engine light turned on. I got a new air pump, oil seals replaced and the 6 year warranty didnt cover a thing ! This time it is the engine light again less that 30 mins after being serviced.
I simply wonder if they do diagnostics at all or forget to update what servicing was done on the car computer that it gives prompts soon after. Talk about being prejudiced, I would love to see what Volkswagen group have to say about their dealers and service 'ádvisors' here on the Sunshine Coast. Frankly, I've been putting up with this awful lot just because there isn't another option but there is no denying the fact that there is unfair advantage being taken from this monopoly that they are enjoying. So much so, that it made me shudder when I was planning to buy a second car and went for a Hyundai instead.
Planning to get rid of a wonderful car not because of its quality but the after sales service and the hawkish lot that I have to deal with.

Continuous Variable Transmission fluid unserviced throughout warranty – In 2014 it was with much excitement that I purchased my first Subaru and my first brand new car. However, recently all the… Read more
alarm lights on the dash came on, stating the continuous variable transmission required attention. I immediately took it to my mechanic as well as an automatic transmission specialist, who both diagnosed it as the continuous variable transmission requiring repair and parts. They both told me this is a problem with the Subaru XV.
This problem and quote came as a great shock, considering the car is not long out of warranty, has only done 126,000 klms and has been well maintained and serviced.
I contacted Subaru who checked and said this is not covered outside of warranty and to email this feedback. On the 15th December I rang Cricks Maroochydore, where I purchased my car and spoke with the service department, asking them to check their records to find when the continuous variable transmission fluid was changed or topped up on my car because I have been through all my service invoices and nothing is showing that it was ever done. The customer service on that call was poor, the woman even seemed annoyed. Later in the day I received a message from Cricks to call and was told that it is a lifetime fluid which is unserviceable. If that is the case, why does it state in my Subaru owner's manual that it is required to be inspected and then adjust, corrected or replace if necessary at 30,000 klms or 24 months, then 60,000 klms or 48 months, then at 90,000 klms or 72 months, then at 120,000 klms or 96 months and why does Subaru sell the continuous variable transmission fluid if it is a lifetime fluid and unserviceable? The automatic transmission specialist has recommended every 48,000 klms.
