So I purchased a car last week (with less than a quarter of a tank of fuel which i thought was a bit stingy) For my daughter to learn to drive in. This almost ended in disaster.
The brakes failed the day after I bought it. My kids were in the car with me when it happened. I was reversing out of my driveway and onto the road when i put my foot down on the brake pedal. Nothing happened and the vehicle carried on moving. The brakes had simply failed to work!! I had only had the car for a day! I am glad it didn't happen on the ...freeway otherwise we could easily have been involved in a serious accident. My kids were not happy and I was furious. When brought up the matter with Westside I did not get an apology. To be fair they did let me use a replacement vehicle but I also expected one. I am waiting to get my newly purchased car back. I have mentioned this to friends who expressed shock and outrage and advised that I should get a full refund and go elsewhere. I am considering a full refund. Clearly the mechanic that inspected the car failed to identify the problem and therefore has been negligent in his duties. Second issue. The sales rep told me that because we had purchased 2 cars from westside before then we would get the paint and interior protection for, 'basically free' with a little modification of the finance. Turns out that they added $1500 to the price with no reduction in cost. I trusted the rep because we had purchased 2 cars from him a couple of years back. That was a mistake.
What a place! We could easily view and test drive a gigantic range of cars in our own time to help us make up our mind what type of car we wanted and Pierre Franzese gave us all the time and advice we needed to decide. We will definitely recommend to friends.
First class experience
We have just purchased out second car from Westside and received fantastic service once again from Gordon and Matt. The trade in process and purchase of both our cars was very easy. Would highly recommend them!
Amazing service and no fuss payment
Fantastic service -I would highly recommend using this service. Zach was amazing and process seemless. Sold my car within two days
Poor customer service
Takes forever to find a staff member and when you do find one they aren't helpful.
Also look at the car in person first because online pictures don't tell the truth. The car I looked at appeared great online but in person I saw heaps of scratches and scuff marks.
Bought a car from these guys 6 months ago with a faulty cruise control, which I wasn’t told about. 2 days after purchasing the car I informed them about the issue and they said they were going to fix it through KaCare but KaCare came back and said this issue wasn’t covered by warranty. After going back and forwards with Westside refusing to fix it but then later coming back saying they were going to fix it only to have to wait, now 6 months down the track they are still dragging their feet. Minimal communication and lazy customer service.
The easy part was buying the 2015 Mitsubishi Triton. Adam was a smooth salesman. “Buy the KaCare Warranty Care Plan and you’ll have no problems. Any issues we’ll sort them out. Westside service all the vehicles before we sell them”. Beware KaCare Plan isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on!! Funny how in just over 3 months front and rear oil leaks occur and oil leaks are classified as service items so Westwide’s Warranty department knocked the claim back. The company that carries out Westside’s warranty can’t believe they won’t cover this clai...m since we’ve had the vehicle just over 3 months. Also read your paperwork as the 3 month statutory warranty is only valid for 5000km. Adam knew the vehicle was being purchased for our son to go travelling. The only positive from this whole experience is it reinforces why we buy new cars with manufacturers warranties. Unfortunately people like our son that can’t afford to buy brand new vehicles will be at the mercy of second hand dealers. Lesson learned. Move on.
We had the best experience with Barry from start to handover.
A knowledgeable sales rep- he guided us into what we feel is just a perfect car for us.
if you want AAA grade service - Look for Barry Wood.
I bought an imported Nissan Leaf and it's a fine car. The financing process was easy and the finance guy was helpful.
However, the salesman came across quite manipulative and he didn't know anything about the car despite saying he had driven them heaps when he worked for Nissan. He had to google the answers to many of my questions and I now know his answers were wrong. For example, he told me a higher range than the car actually has. He also said the battery was still in peak condition because the mileage is low, which isn't true... It's slig...htly degraded which is fine, however I wish he had just pointed out the extremely easy to see indicator on the dashboard instead of making up a wrong answer to my question. Lastly they told me the car had GPS and a working radio, but this was completely wrong as it's an import and still set to Japanese settings so none of it works. They also didn't tell me upfront about the $950 fee I would get charged for them arranging finance for me. I obviously signed off on it at the point of pick up but I hate when stuff like that is not explained up front so you can make a more informed choice about how you want to finance the car. By the time you go to pick it up it's a bit late. They aren't legally obligated to tell you about this fee so you have to ask them outright. If you go through here do your research thoroughly first, don't let them smooth talk you or rush you. They will tell you that cars get sold really fast to pressure you to buy but please don't worry about that, there will always be another opportunity.
Wonderful service from Barry Wood , thank you, all done ✅ quickly and efficiently. Picked up the next day , super little car.
Great customer service and believability
Jacob is a star at customer service. He made us feel comfortable with our buying experience. Westside provides believability. I’m a repeat buyer
Happy to leave customers with a faulty transmission.
Purchasing the car was a breeze & we dealt with a great salesman however the manager got very rude, irritable and nasty very quickly when we discovered shortly after picking up the car that the transmission in the car was faulty. The manager tried to fob us off and tell us that for the year of the car that the gears slipping into neutral was normal... after numerous calls and texts and extremely stressful situation for a young couple with a baby we were finally put to the warranty team who sent the car to Holden and yes the whole transmission r...equired replacement. We were treated terribly by the staff at westside auto and made to feel like it was our fault that the car had issues. If we didn't fight this then we would be left with a car that required a new transmission. The manager does not give a toss about his customers or gives them the time of day at all. Disappointing & stressful experience to say the least. Buyer beware - do your homework before purchasing a used car through this dealership as we would hate anyone to have to go through a similar experience.
Terrible experience - no customer service skills!
Westside Auto has a reputation in Perth for being a non-trust worthy car yard.
This place must of taken a page out of a book about how to be a stereotypical used car dealership. Kind of reminds me of Mr Woodwood in the movie Matilda.
Salesmen extremely pushy and then get aggressive when you don't want to purchase. They constantly say that they are the largest used car dealership in WA but there is at least another 2 if not 3 places that say the same thing.
Their finance and warranty products are part of the same company so be aware of that.
Slimy and rude staff. Not a good car buying experience. Explore alternative dealerships.
What a joke
The service received when buying the car was excellent but everything after has been appalling. It’s incredible when I want a refund on something it takes over 30 days to get the refund and even more ridiculous is the lack of return calls from accounts departments.
Appalling after service
Easy purchasing from Interstate
Oriana made the purchase of a car interstate a clear and easy process. Many thanks again Oriana for all your hard work.
Questions & Answers
Anyone sell a car interstate to WSAG through one of their buyers? Seems a tad suss? I haven’t even met this guy, now I’m being asked to fill out a form with all my pers details and banking details?
I personally wouldn’t trust a single thing they do. Go with your gut feeling
What Warranty do you receive for a vehicle over 40K
The standard 3 months or 5000 km warranty.
This is for cars less than 10 years and less than 150000 km
You can google this question!
