One star because I cannot leave zero. Moved from New Zealand to Australia. This was our second international move, so I KNOW the process, and this was our first time working with Crown Relocations. I canNOT explain how much they are TERRIBLE, EXPENSIVE, IRRESPONSIBLE. They came to our home with very nice words and good manners, AND when I… Read more

transferred the money, EVERYTHING changed. Their fee is higher than that of other companies WITH SAME DISCRIBTION, and you are basically paying extra for packaging with the CROWN name on the box for their marketing purposes. The boxes are the same as standard hardware-store boxes. They told us our belongings would arrive in Sydney in 7 to 8 weeks, but it took 13 weeks, which caused a lot of STRESS and pressure on us. The move manager lady was very IRRESPONSIBLE. She always treated us with “I DON'T KNOW” and “ITS NOT WITH US ANYMORE,” and she was WASTING OUR TIME with DUBLE UP work like SIGNING forms and SENDING DOCUMENTS more than once. Her name was Lindi Goosen. They told we would stay in contact with her until we received our stuff, but when the shipment arrived in Australia, she said she didn’t know anything anymore and that Grace Removals was responsible. After that, she never answered my phone calls or emails. Grace booked delivery of our household goods three times, and they DID NOT deliver. We had to go to their company branch in Sydney to collect our belongings ourselves. NOTHING was properly labelled. They used normal boxes to pack expensive clothes, which is NOT what they showed at the beginning. Boxes labelled “kitchen” contained shoes, books, and random items, so that’s “kitchen”! They obviously keep some expensive items when they “repack” boxes for an international move. In our case, they have NOT returned our PS4 and wireless controllers. I followed up multiple times, and they DID NOT respond. It is DISGUSTING that you trust them, and this is how they treat you. They do NOT care, they only care about the money in their account on time. Customer service is NON EXISTENT in this company. Would NEVER RECOMMEND them to anyone.

Moved from cairns to texas. So much stuff is missing its crazy. And NOTHING labelled. They used expensive clothing as box packing. Boxes that had some label such as 'kitchen' could have anything from garbage to books, with a fork....so thats kitchen! Would NEVER recommend them. They obviously keepa lot of your expensive items for themselves as they 'repack' everything for an international move. For the price they charge its disgusting service.

We recently relocated from Australia to the USA and went with Crown for our relocation. The original contact was amazing. He was very attentive and spent the time with me to make me feel confident that this would be our best choice. The uplift and communication was great. HOWEVER, when our 40ft container was delivered in the USA the problems… Read more

arose. During the consultation and pack was very clear on the items that were expensive and to be handled with care. Lucky for us now our artwork were already in a custom made wooden crate that had been made for a relocation 8 months before and had not been unpacked. However our beautiful handmade solid oak dining table was damaged. This table weighs a couple of hundred kgs and I informed them it needed to be packed well. They placed the table (which was in a single layer of bubble wrap) on its side standing upright. The weight of the table on a metal container damaged all the corners which were curved now have flat spots, the wood was dented and there were rub marks all on the legs. Other fabric items eg bed and stools were packed so tightly that fabrics were rubbed and damaged. Boxes were packed with light glass items on the bottom and heavy items on the top so things ont he bottom broke. Items were shoved into boxes and damaged that should have been packed gently. They even managed to lose a leg of one of our King Living lounges. I would like to say the team here in the USA were great during the delivery and unpacking. I cannot fault them and they were very professional and helpful. We paid for the top level of insurance and so far it has not been a pleasant experience with the insurance. They expect us to have our items repaired, of which it will never be the same having an american oak solid wood table with filler in it, and to be given money to live with products that can never be repaired to look new again, the only option is to buy new products. We will be relocating back to Australia in a few years and I would NEVER use crown again. And I would never recommend anyone relocating to use them. I put a photo of just one are of our dining table that was damaged.

2 moves in 3 years... couldn't have done it without them – Helpful, friendly, professional and their after sales care is amazing. During this Covid time, Crown in Brisbane made our move personal by video calling to see what we had, in order to offer a favourable proposal. It was seamless from the start to finish, from paperwork to using skilled and efficient removal services. Highly recommended.

Very decent and amazing experience – Very decent and amazing experience. From the uplift to the drop-off, it has been very smooth except the miscommunication among Crown logistics team for the date. We had to wait for extra 2 - 3 weeks to deliver our items to be delivered at the destination. Apart from that, it was a great relocation. Will use it again if required for interstate and international relocation in the future. Show details

⭐ **1 Star – Avoid Crown Relocations & Crown Care Insurance** Our third international move with Crown was a nightmare. This review focuses on Crown Care Insurance. Not a gold star service - think twice before using them – I used Crown for packing / unpacking and removal service between Melbourne and Sydney. Packing service was good (few breakages) but the unpacking was terrible. to unpack boxes and start to dump stuff on the floor. When I asked him not to - he yelled at me (he also yelled at his colleagues). He also refused to assemble the bed (though Crown did resovle that issue later on the day).

My biggest concern was that I paid for unpacking and Crown did minimal unpacking. Really disappointing. Think twice before using them.

I was advised that I would have the opportunity to provide feedback - to date

Crown Relo Cancel International Uplift Due in 12 Days – UPDATE: After emailing the CEO of Crown Worldwide and putting a review on here and Trustpilot, Crown Relocations agreed to ship our belongings home to the UK. I will do a more detailed review of our experience once we have our belongings back with us. ************************************************************ All was going well and the… Read more

uplift was booked in for early February until three days ago when The Surveyor called to say that they were increasing the cost by $835 because of the issues with shipping in the Red Sea. I have some issues, one of the affects of which is that I don't deal with telephone calls very well. I am fine in person but phone calls trigger me. The Surveyor was very flippant in his delivery and there was no real explanation of what the fees were for and so I asked what it was for and why it was being charged bearing in mind the quote is already a considerable amount of money. I was very upset and The Surveyor did not seem to be happy at being questioned in this way and became very defensive with his tone towards me became patronising and overbearing. He said it was a decision by the shipping company and not Crown Relocations. I asked him if that was the case, could he email me the notification from the shipping line advising that this was the amount they were now charging removal companies. He said he would. What he in fact sent me was a note from Crown basically confirming that there would be a charge of $747 and a Crown Admin Fee of $88. I emailed to ask why we were having to pay an admin charge and received no response.

What I did receive was a telephone call from The Surveyor advising me that according to him, his Senior Managment Team had made the decision that they would no longer be prepared to ship our container full of furniture home. I asked why and was told that they did not feel they could fulfill my expectations. I pointed out to him that to leave us in the lurch with only 12 days away from the booked uplift was inhuman and unprofessional, merely because I questioned an increase in an already expensive process.

I asked him why his SMT manager had not even had the decency to speak to me to 'investigate' what had happened. No response. I also asked him for details of their complaints procedure. He told me to send an email to him. I said I wanted it to go to the Management Team or Complaints Team and he insisted I send it to him.

I will not be sending anything to him. For him to do this so close to our move when he is fully aware of my health issues and when we have to be out of the house the day after uplift is inhuman and unforgiveable.

I would never recommend Crown Relocations for any removals but definately not for International Removals. They just do not have any idea despite the following being found on their website:

'Unfortunately moving home can be very stressful and many psychologists consider it to be amongst the top 5 most traumatic life events. This stems from the complex range of fear and emotions associated with change, compounded by the grief and loss many people feel about losing inter-personal connections associated with their local environment. Selecting a reputable removals company like Crown Relocations can certainly assist by taking care of the logistical challenges.'

A really appalling experience that I hope no one else goes through.

Do not trust Crown relocations with your property – Paid for the most expensive relocation quote (with crown relocation) from Australia to NZ. had been literally tipped into a large moving box with no packaging except paper on top and bottom of the boxes. My printers packed in a box on top of each other with my iPads, kindle, Nikon camera, lens kits non of which was individually wrapped. Most of our wooden furniture is covered in dents and scratches, our 65inch tv had been tipped onto its side in a poorly packed box so arrived broken and dislodged from polystyrene packaging in the box, expensive tools thrown into boxes with no packing material. Other large boxes while unpacking I found one contained two pillows, one a blanket (we ended up paying more in cubic meter storage I can only assume). Such a lack of respect shown to our property, it’s so upsetting. To add insult the removal guys dragged items along my wooden floors like boxes, wrapped furniture and mattresses leaving scratches in my wooden floor boards which I had re-polish before settling on our house sale. One month following delivery despite paying over $3000 for additional insurance we have received no compensation for our damages. I would never ever use or recommend Crown relocations.

Very very bad – My international move started December 20th, 2021. It was promised to be over by beginning of April 2022. little. After pick up (when they come and get your boxes into the container for the move) 5% of my belongings remained outside the container and were left behind. Thingsonly got worse from there. 3 months after pick up, my belongings (and container) were still in Australia and Crown demanded that I paid more to get the move done (according to them, because shipping rates had gone up, regardless of their fault for not getting my container on board in time as had been promised). Fast forward 10 months: I had to vouch and pay 35% excess on the original agreed price, and my container arrived at destination in October, 7 months after the promised date. In the middle, lawyers, Fair Trading NSW (little help), unanswered calls and bad treatment from their operations people (pay or else kind of answering). If you are moving overseas, please please read the fine print and make sure you put everything on paper. And don't trust anything their sales people say. You are caught at a very sensitive moment in your life, stress is through the roof, and your belongings are held ransom to their requirements. My personal opinion from my own experience with these people: I would NOT hire Crown Relocations again if my life depended on it and would not recommend them.

Started well, but what a let down – It started well, the initial quote was positive and the movers who packed our belongings were great. Communication then dropped off the map. been held by customs because an error message was missed “because we [[Name Removed]- who apparently do all the work for Crown, we found out later] are moving offices”. I reached out to our consultant from Crown who at the time of the quote said he’d “be there every step of the way” - he is yet to even return my call.

In short, throughout the experience it feels like no-one except the professional movers in Sydney have understood that they’re taking care of 90% of our belongings. They’ve taken responsibility for our wedding photos, our daughter’s cot, our family memories. I don’t expect a constant stream of communication, but I expected to know where our belongings are at any given time, have phone calls and emails returned, and to feel as though you at least care about what you’ve taken on.

The worst I have ever hired to move my house, expensive but terrible services – Paid for ~ $13K to move my furniture from New Zealand to Melbourne. Everything went really wrong right from the beginning. First, I had a good experience with Crown UK when moving to NZ so I trusted this company. for me, so I went ahead, felt being phished already. But this was not the worst. They promised to deliver by mid Jan 2021, so I would expect to have our stuff by end of Jan 2021 (about 2 months after the packing day). As such, I stayed in the airbnb and rented an unfurnished apartment but they kept delaying and blaming on the ship line with uncertain delivery days, so I had to buy basic furniture while waiting for the delivery. It finally took another 2 months to fix the delivery date, totalling up to 4 months. Not yet the worst to come. As I live in an apartment, I must book the lift in advance, so I would expect from them a flexible set of options as I paid (a lot!) for that. But they only wanted to give the time in their favour. Finally, they decided to book with the worst option to deliver my stuff in the afternoon and said they would not assemble and unwrap all my stuff because it would be late for them. The delivery was also really late, booked from 1pm but they said they would arrive at ~ 2.30pm. Again, I felt being cheated as I paid for this. They could change to other dates in the morning slots but they locked me in their favourite slot already. No choice for me cuz I need my furniture badly for the new born baby. I would never recommend my colleagues and friends to use this service. I will escalate this issue with my employer HR and ask them not to recommend this company in the offer letter to future employees. I wish I could rate this service 0!

made, there service stopped. Their promised arrival date range is looking to be late by over 1 month. We had to chase our mobility advisor for updates constantly. And once our packages left Singapore, the responses dropped even lower. We had to track outlet ship daily on progress as no one would tell us what is happening. When the ship is delayed by more 2 weeks, there was no update and we had to enquiry on the reason. At this point, we are living out of our luggages in Sydney, my kids are asking why they can’t play with their toys, we are racking up a massive bill on hotel fees/food - we have a place but no furniture or furnishings. We asked what is the delay and their answer? Covid loh. Asked them what can they do? Too bad lah. Ask to speak to their manager, no call back. What are we to do while stranded here in a new country? I’m utterly gutted by how our new life has started and Crown has played a major hand in making it so. So while I’m waiting endlessly for my stuff, I’m taking the chance to warn any and everyone that if they are moving anywhere, to choose ANYBODY else.

Be ware the "Rise and Fall" clause – Moved a 3 bedroom house interstate. The actual move was great, no issues at all, however it was carried out by Crown's "sister company" Grace removals. However they entirely restructured their business and… Read more

increased my signed agreement buy 65% (thousands of $ in this case) citing this clause as reason for the increase. This was also less than 2 months before our planned move so changing removalists was not possible as we now had exact dates on which we needed to move and no one else able to guarantee us those dates. After some discussion they gave me 2 options: reduce our volume by 6m3 so it would fit in one container (and still pay more than our initial quote) or pay a revised rate (now a 40% increase on the original quote). Chose to pay the revised rate as we were advised our 36m3 would not fit in one container and didn't think we could reduce it by 6m3. Come moving day, the removalists got all 36m3 into one container and I later find out they were asked to do everything possible to get it in. When I raised this with crown afterwards they refused to refund the difference as the final volume was 36m3. After much back and forth I got a partial refund meaning I still payed >20% more than my initial signed agreement (and with a lot of added stress).

Crown team could work on using out of office bounce emails. The move was contracted out by Crown to another service provider (without me being informed) so I was very confused when another moving company turned up. I had also specifically requested crates for my wine collection which were not provided and instead was packed poorly into normal cardboard boxes. My relocation consultant was on leave the day of my move which had also not been communicated. I was told later that the wine would be repacked however no photos were provided of proof - I await to see this when my goods arrive hopefully in one piece. Packers weren't very efficient in packing as the volume went up from quoted 15m3 to 20m3. Packers came on 25/09. After no updates following the invoice for the increased volume 08/10 (they also first sent me an invoice for an entirely different client) I contacted my relocation consultant on 17/10 to ask for vessel details. Estimated arrival in NZ was 17/11 with 15 business days for customs clearance. I tracked the ship which arrived 13/11. It has now been well over 15 business days with no update and no reply to emails at 09/12.

anything went wrong we would be looked after, unfortunately this was far from the truth.

We had issues with multiple Crown staff leaving their employment, then other Crown staff not knowing how long before our shipment would arrive. No replies to emails or phone calls, no updates and no dates for delivery which kept changing. Communication was extremely poor. The uncertainty of delivery created additional cost to our family for accommodation and car hire.

Our Crown sales consultant was no where to be seen. Quite remarkable, considering he was emailing and calling me constantly prior to signing the contract.

The whole relocation became extremely frustrating, we wrote to the Managing Director several times and he never replied. Throughout our ordeal, this became common behaviour with staff when things went wrong - no communication.

Our personal effects were damaged both in transit and onsite with one of the un-packers running a box-cutter knife through a painting. He told us to contact the office and they would assist us with repairing it. Our claim was declined. Our beautiful baby grand piano was also damaged in transit. This was the only item approved in our insurance claim.

After 14 weeks our vehicle arrived, damaged. We took it to Volkswagen who told us the vehicle was not properly prepared for shipment and as such the battery was cooked and the climate control system was damaged. Again we contacted Crown who asked us to file a claim and they would assist. Crown refused to cover the cost of any repairs. They never offered any assistance for car rental whilst we waited 14 weeks for delivery. Our previous international carrier only took three weeks for delivery.

We put in an insurance claim and waited four weeks before anyone responded only to find that the piano would be covered. Everything else on our claim was declined despite paying insurance on the vehicle. We were also told that if we wanted to escalate we would have to go back via the New Zealand branch as Australia was not responsible. Interesting when the damages occurred in Australia and the Australian team were handling the initial insurance claim. No one wants to deal with our matter and now we wait for New Zealand to come back to us - three weeks and counting!

The cost, wasted time, inconvenience and disruption and undue stress that Crown Relocations caused to our family is so far beyond a joke, it's ridiculous.

The bottom line here, in our experience, is that Crown Relocations Australia and New Zealand do not take accountability for their lack of care to clients property and as far as we are concerned couldn't care less about the customer once they have your money.

Crown Relocations has a glossy sales pitch, but the reality is, it's not worth the paper it's written on.

An apology and review to improve your service delivery means nothing to us - the customer, especially when we have had so much incompetent service, incurred additional cost and our items are damaged.

I do not recommend Crown Relocations based on our experience.

I appreciate your reply. These are my concerns:

Firstly, the payment was a hassle and we had to rush and take time out to get the papers just because [name removed] and [name removed] did not communicate. We were told by [name removed] that we could make payments upon settlement (house sale). [name removed] then gave us the notice to pay ASAP, before the house sale. That was very inconvenient, and we had to take a lot of time out and make appointments with the lawyer to get the necessary paperwork. This was a big hassle.

I have had 2 good offers from other relocators. The reason I went with Crown was that I received an email from [name removed](see below). On the telephone, [name removed] said that there was a container available and that if we packed soon, the container will leave by mid-July (I heard 6th of July). I did tell [name removed] who liaised with [name removed] and [name removed] denied this and so it's your words against mine. I had received a latter date by [name removed] , hence my inquiry. I have no need to make this up. You have messed up big time with hardly any apologies. I would have received my stuff with other providers on the 1st or 2nd week of August. This mess up is costing me a lot of money (upwards of 3000AUD more, total 7000 AUD). The total cost of shipping now is approx. 19000 NZD. I would have bought new items with that much money. I have not even included the lawyer fees.

[name removed] told us that we would get our things on the 2nd week of August at the latest. We were told that we would be taken care of and be informed. None of these has happened. We planned accordingly.

Because I am also liaising with my lawyer, could you please include the full email evidence with dates and logo (if any) of shipment change. (I had an email snapshot with no dates and simple signature - hardly credible as per my lawyer).

Incompetent movers – We moved a 3 br home from Melbourne to the Gold Coast. The time of the first container arriving was spot on- we thought this is great. Then we realised how incompetent the Melbourne packers had been. They managed to leave pieces from each room for the 2nd container. We couldn't cook, use the bathroom, or setup our bed. When the 2nd container… Read more

arrived there was still stuff missing. We had damages, broken goods and missing pieces. In the third week we finally received some of the missing pieces. They don't care about the damage and losses but leave it for the insurance company to sort out. This is a dodgy setup and the only saving grace is that they have some nice staff who cop the blame for the incompetent parts of the organisation.

Exceptional Service! – My parents moved house after 28 years in the same property which was extremely emotional for them. We engaged CROWN to pack their wordily possessions into containers as the furniture had to be in storage for a few months. From the minute I contacted CROWN via phone, on-going communication via email and when Jason and Leon arrived to pack the two x… Read more ·  1

20 foot containers their service, attention to detail and emotional support was outstanding. Again with the second move Leon and Ben also amazing and very patient with the parents needs. Thank you!!!!!

Super easy move from NZ to Australia – I was relocating from NZ to Austrslia and needed to have my furniture and personal gears moved over. I got several Quotes and went with Crown because they seemed to be able to do the job within the timeframe I needed. Crown ensured i was involved and kept good communication about the status of my gears. I had someone in Australia to liaise with.… Read more ·  2

My gears were delivered by the nicest team very professional and they made sure i was happy before leaving. The move took 6 weeks also i was able to put my gears into storage for a small charge. Would highly recommend Crown.

Unreliable and untrustworthy – We moved interstate (3 hours away) with 2/3rds of a 5 bedroom home. We chose Crown Relocation despite their much higher quote, due to assurances they were reliable. We were told multiple trucks were always available in case of problems. We have been in our new home for over 3 weeks and are still awaiting the last of our belongings. They damaged… Read more

items and continue to change dates for delivery. They are more expensive than many relocation companies, yet offer much less. A poorly loaded truck meant leaving part of our furniture and possessions behind, as well as breakages on the other end. I wish I had gone with Balfran. We will not use Crown for our return home. Beware of false promises by Canberra and Sydney staff! Also be very careful of trusting the 5 star reviews on here - many are brand new reviewers who are all located in Banyo, QLD where a Crown Relocations office is located!

Recent cross Tasman move – Recently we moved from Nelson, New Zealand to Brisbane, Queensland. The young man who did a lot of the packing was professional, easy to work with and nothing was a problem to him. The whole Nelson Team that we had contact with impressed us with genuine service. The coordinating lady at the Brisbane Depot/Office, listened carefully to our needs… Read more ·  1

regarding the delivery and impressed us with genuine care for us and our circumstances and delivered on time. The Driver of the delivery truck was very helpful and also helped us with knowledge of setting up house here in Brisbane. Real genuine extra mile service. A big "thank you" to all involved. Well done CROWN.

Stress Free International Relocation – I have moved twice with Crown and cannot be happier! On both occasions I have received friendly, professional and timely service. We moved a 3 bedroom household with antiques and many breakables from NZ to Sydney on our most recent move (Oct 2018). Our things arrived well protected, earlier than expected and the staff were extremely accommodating… Read more ·  1

Amazing from start to end!! – We moved from Ireland to Australia from a 4 bed large house. It was such an easy process with Crown from the beginning to the end. Our move managers were in constant contact with us to ensure it was a smooth process, the packing team arrived on time and packed everything with extreme care and precision. Our move took 12 weeks door to door which is… Read more ·  1

what one would expect so we were happy with the turnaround time. Our unpacking team arrived and were very courteous and worked to a very high standard ensuring every box was accounted for and placed where we wanted them. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
