Hello. I'm wanting to bake a sponge for the first time in this Damani oven. What temperature and setting is best please? There is no reference to sponges in the manual. This sponge has eggs; and no butter. Many thanks

I had to wing it here as no replies before baking. I baked my sponge on the 2nd option (oven options) on the left; mid shelf for 25mins on 180 degrees. It turned out really well. Hopefully helpful to someone else....

Follow the instructions :)

First turn on timer, right hand side then red dot buttons, degrees, then icon with black line top & bottom which is the top element & bottom element also there is a double line with a fan in the middle hope this helps

My husband disconnected the timer completely (bypass) and now the oven works

We've had the same issue recently, after 5 years of use. It turned out to be the switch block which sits behind the oven element/fan selector. Appears to have melted/shorted. I've just ordered a replacement switch block ($115 +postage) - which apparently is a redesigned one and not identical to the original, thus it will be shipped with a wiring diagram that suits the new switch block.

I suspect that a lot of the oven heat gets into the cavity behind the knobs on the front, when the oven is in use, and cooks the wiring. This is evident by the slight to significant browning of a number of the electrical wire covers (normally white). Potentially a serious design fault me thinks!

I am repairing ours for the moment, but given it has been relatively trouble free for the past 5 years, I'll keep a close eye on it - if it plays up, it's off to the tip.

my problem was the selection switch- best to get out a professional technician- if you are in Victoria, i would highly recommend the techs we used and our oven is perfect: the very courteous Michael Rodriguez at master-tech.com.au 1300 366 705- this is a genuine comment- i have no financial interest with the company- i was just sick of all the unprofessional other technicians i had hired and called- Michael is very respectful!

Worst oven ever and dangerous! It came standard in our home 10nys ago. It was alway average but over the last 12 months fell apart. Both elements, fan and base cracked. The smoke smell was the elements warping and melting into insulation! If id known i would never have used it. Total fire hazard. It was treated well and not faulty to begin with. Looked after and well kept.

Timer stopped a while back and gas was coming out so fast that when ignited it nearly burnt me!

We just bought a westinghouse...my goodness what a difference. Dont waste your time or money repairing this....as tempting as it is to try to save money i strongly advise you to buy a new one instead!
