Shelving issues – The plastic mounts holding the shelves all broke, therefore I ended up with no shelving. When I tried to find spares on the internet, most were no longer available. This Daewoo Fridge has been a very good & reliable Fridge for many years! – I must have been one of the lucky ones. This Daewoo FR-4501W fridge has worked very well for many years, with no problems. Until recently when we had a power surge, followed by a power outage for about 3 hours. Only since then it has been making loud noises, trying to kick in again to work. So only since then I have had a problem getting it to work and cool. Unfortunately it might be time for a new one now. :-( Show details

DISAPPOINTMENT – After installing fridge lasted for a week had to call a techican as fridge didnt sound right fridge was leaking gas. Motor is fine, temperature is great all year round and i am happy with the door magnet very strong in this category.

I bought the fridge from seconds world and needed one urgently and they delivered to me the day after i ordered it.

They were awesome and set it all up for me in 2 seconds, really good service and a neat fridge for a very cheap price.

Never again! – shelves broke - 3 at almost the same time ! Top shelf kept falling of it's slider . Took photos and sent off to daewoo who said it was my problem. Forget it. It's a lemon – My problem is the shelving. After 5 years the plastic frames around glass crack. Particularly poor when with the upper small goods compartment constantly falls out due to the broken plastic. I have replaced that top shelf but the tray did not fit, despite very carefully selecting the correct part. Also replacement parts are very expensive. Not happy, Jan. Not recommend this name to anybody. The worst one I have ever own! – Mine quick working after a year and a few days. I could not do anything since the warranty was out. The motor is ok, but the switch on and off did not click. It worked when I connected it directly but the fridge would run all the time, never stop.

I would not recomend this fridge to any one – When summer comes around the fridge stops working make a clicking sound and stops cooling just lost another $200 food not happy. I have tried terning of for five min then tern back on runs for ten min then stops again. As I am a single Dad with three kids I cant afford to lose any food. How am I going to feed them now.

it has done us well – We have owned a Daewoo FR4501W for over 4 years and never a problem. Freezer & Fridge both run well. Sometimes make a slight noise. We got good service from Murray Oakley Discounts here in Darwin, We went and deliberately bought a cheap fridge knowing that you do not get a Rolls Royce for a Holden price.

foods stay frozen overnight - even the ice cubes. I will turn it up to a higher temp in summer. Wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought it - just over 12 months ago, I wouldn't have bought it. Good price, and no meat keeper taking up space NOISY, OMG.

FR-4501S - Would not recommend this fridge – Purchased this fridge for the office. coming from the motor was loud and unreasonable. The guy then said it was probably the compressor and he would have someone call and check it. He further added that if it needs repair that would be covered by the warranty, however if the technican decides there is nothing wrong I would then have to pay the service fee. This fridge is 4 days old and after reading the reviews I have cancelled the technician as it sounds like they are generally noisy. I told this guy at the time I would hate to have this fridge in my house with the noise it makes. I cancelled the call in the event the technician would say there is nothing wrong and I would have to pay the service call. I would certainly not recommend this fridge/make and the after purchase service is * house. Looks ok and is big. At this early stage 4 days only - very loud.

Do not buy this fridge – Absolutely disgusted in this fridge . looked good but shelves starting breaking withing 2 months defrosts freezer and we lose all food then 2 days later it freezes again fridge cools when it feels like it. This was recommended as great fridge 18 months later i am so upset about it i have just lost all my food again i would not recommend these to anyone. worst customer service ive ever had as well. Daewoo do not care! – Do not buy this fridge!! They look fantastic but they are poorly made! really load airaplane noise which was unberable we could not watch tv, sit in are lounge room or sleep while this was turned on the service people have fixed this problem 3 times in a peroid of 4 months, just last week when the service guy left we noticed the shelf kept falling down after a closer look we realised the rack which holds the shelf was put in the wrong way in which i believe this was done to hide the crack they had caused while repairing the fridge. Now today for the 4th time we have another problem with the fridge it is freezing in the fridge compatment even when its on the lowest setting. we have argued the point and demanded a new fridge after all the money we have wasted from food wastage and the inconvenience for the 4th time the service department are not wanting to replace the fridge they want to fix it again. All this and the fridge is still less than 12 months old and still under warranty. cheapest fridge for the size been fixed 3 times stuffed up again for the 4th time still under waranty

Poor quality – very disappointed in this fridge, I brought it for my daughter and son-in-law, the seal's are all split, door has dropped , not even 3 year,s old and need new seal's please give me a break. Not happy with this product. Hopfully someone might like to look at this problem and fix this matter as we paid $800.00 for this fridge and I do think it should last more than 3 year's before you need new seal's and a dropped door Seals, door.

no problems – I have Daewoo FR-4501s/FR-4501w it has both these model numbers on it it's been about 4 yrs since It purchased and has never missed a beat.Occasionly it makes a slight noise but not a banging and not for long all the above  Show reply

wish I'd read these reviews first – I liked the look of the Daewoo, good price and good warranty. Retrovision gave it a good recommendation. I was happy, NOT. in the fridge is easily knocked and altered, so I am constantly checking it. I know food is defrosting in the freezer because all the ice cubes that were loose in the ice tray are now one solid lump.

I'm going into Retrovision tomorrow to see what they say about it. Its the perfect size for me as I live on my own, it fits perfectly into my kitchen but I am so disappointed about the noise levels and the freezer part. Inexpensive, simple clean lines. Very Noisy, Freezer Defrosting, Temp Dial in fridge part easily knockedonto lower or higher settings.
