I'd certainly suggest daikin be aware of some installer's qaulity of work I paid a lot of money for a 15.5kw daikin and trusted the installer's only to discover first summer very inadequate didn't go with warranty as didn't trust the installer's too come back went with new company and payed a lot more to re,position all pipping put in missing parts and get air con working efficiently I viewed photos of previous installation terrible perhaps its not the end of the world but certainly disappointing.

Did Daikin sort out the heating problem mentioned by Ian above?
No they weren't interested in helping out. They are happy to take your money though.Don't buy a Daikin. As soon as its out of warranty, they break down and cost a fortune to fix
Hi are FDYAN-160 and FDYAN160A-CV the same Machine? Thanks James
Hi James, we apologise for the delayed response. in answer to your question, yes they are the same machine. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out. Thanks, Daikin
An added comment sorry, I have since found inverter specified. Please can daikin respond promptly about our other concerns as this affects our purchasing decision. We have faith in the installer but want to put our minds at rest product wise.
As long as you have your warranty in place, you shouldnt have too much trouble. Might have occassional delays like we had for parts but has been ok for us since the issue.
Thank you very much for your reply as it means a lot to us at the moment as we have faith in the installer as well.
We have been getting quotes on a replacement ducted system for our 21 year old actron. Actron, LG and Daikin quotes. The quote on the above system was favourable but we are concerned about negative reviews on product and customer service, even though the installer would service under warranty. The brochure and website do not specifically state details about the inverter in specs for this model so daikin update those straight away. These few reviews are not recent enough so we are asking are there any other customers who have installed this model and what their experiences have been? Daikin management, can you please reply to our query ?
Hi Constance, please contact your local Daikin dealer external link . Thanks, Daikin
We have a quote thanks. Our query is about specific product reviews and customer and warranty service reliability and reviews
Hi Constance, The product reviews regarding this model are regarding the noise and customer service. The sound level of this model can be located on our website, Ducted brochure DK37_PCDUAU0522_1-Daikin-Ducted-Brochure_LR.pdf. The unit comes with a 5-year warranty period, which the dealer provides at the installation time. Contact your dealer if repairs to the air conditioner are necessary within the warranty period. Thanks, Daikin
Had my old ducted Temperzone unit replaced with a new Daikin FDYAN140 14 kw ducted system on 26/05/2022 sizing of unit was told is fine for the home. Not impressed as have the temperature set on 32 c and still walking round the house with jumpers on. Called installer to check he advised that the system is working fine, closed one outlet that was near the return as he said was giving a false reading, tried everything I could think of to get it working but still as of today 13/06/2022 walking round with jackets and jumpers . Checked the filters ( washed and clean ) Ducting ok So if this is the best it can do then to me a BIG waste of money..... Any suggestions ????

Hi Ian Roberts, In the same boat, did you get this issue resolved?
Same here! Wasted money on Daikinducted system (16/18 KW). Wearing the outside clothes inside the home. System is absolutely not coping once outside temperature gets under 5 degrees! And struggles under 10 degrees. Only Luke warm air coming from the outlets…..and apparently it is functioning OK..?!? Comparing to my sons old (same size) system and now his Panasonic ducted heating, the outlets shoot air around 10 degrees warmer (similar to wall split system), thus heating the house in the morning within 20 minutes. Ours Daikin system takes whole day and still not warming enough!
Had a different guy come and inspect the system after Daikin said nothing wrong with it. He found the the system was not sealed correctly thus the hot air was just circulating in the roof not coming out of the vents. Well worth having someone come in and check it out. Now although not the same as the old system but better than it was. If I had my time again I would not have gone with Daikin knowing what I know now never again.
I have the same issue. Installer says system is working fine and asking us to wear warm clothes
Hi Pradeep, we are sorry to hear you are having issue with your unit. Can you please complete the attached linked form, and we can look into this for you. Thanks, Daikin external link
Is this model Daikin inverter FDYQN160 adequate for a (21 square) single storey home?
Hi, please contact a Daikin dealer through our online link external link to confirm what is best suited to your home. Thanks, Daikin
I have A Daikin model:
FDYQN100LBV1 RZQ100V1
Have had a UO fault due to a lack of airflow.
Have been advised that we need to run all zones open on high all the time until duct work is looked at/re-designed.
Anyone have the same issue with these models? Are you able to run on low fan? Have you been able to resolve the issue and if so, what was the solution?
Hi, please contact Customer Support by filling out this online form external link or by calling 1300 368 300. Thanks, Daikin
Hi, can I ask how much total price for supply and install was and is the AC still running without problems? many thanks
I currently have a Daikin FDYQ180M (RZQ7PY1 large top discharging outdoor unit) and the buzzing from the outdoor unit is annoying - and it seems like it just always is buzzing regardless of how hard its working. I am looking to replace with the slimmer (dual side fan dischage) FDYQN180LC (outdoor unit RZQ180M) hoping it buzzes less - I can handle the noise on hot days when its working hard but not always. Does anybody have experience with the outdoor noise of these newer units? Looking at Karl's comments above seems to note its still very loud.
We have just had a Daikin ducted system installed with 4 zones. I was told that free air flow was important - I was also told that closing all doors in a zone could blow the ducting off because of back-pressure. I have accidentally closed the doors and found the pressure quite strong. So, we slept with the doors slightly open to allow the air to circulate. Is this necessary?
I don't know. I m not a technician. Just an owner of one of these units. Sorry I can't help.
Im not a Teck but if there is a pressure when you close the door worst case is it pops the ducting off , fairly unlikely but it does happen...Just have to leave the door a little ajar...
Not really a question but a statement on reviews. The accuracy of ratings of a particular device is not helped by people complaining about installers or not receiving the device in time. That is not a fault of unit, t's a problem with your installer. The device may be very good. Rate the installer on google or somewhere else, not the device. Thank you.
Is there a way to reduce the outdoor unit sound?
No they have Noisy compressors cheers...
Looking for a WiFi controller and app for Daikin FDYQN160. Thank you
It’s called iZone
Hi Julie, we paid for the FDYAN160AV1, house till under construction. Is this the same system you rate highly? We would be keen to know more about your experience. Thx.
advise the total cooling capacity at the following setpoints : Indoor unit Air on coil = 30°C DB / 22°C WB
Outdoor unit Air on coil = 40°C
Is this model Daikin inverter FDYQN160 adequate for a 270sq.m. (29 square) 2 storey home?
Too small
What are the noise levels of the outdoor unit like? I'm thinking of getting the FDYQN160 but don't want it to be loud enough to bother the neighbours.
Our outdoor unit is situated directly outside our kitchen window and the sound from it has never really been a problem. It is certainly not loud. As we live in the country the unit faces out onto shrubbery and small trees so there are no hard surfaces to reflect sound (if you live in the city, for example, and neighbours are close and there are plenty of concrete walls, hard fences, etc). Even still, the two fans don't seem to make much sound. I should also point out that the unit did break down in the first year and the problem was a faulty printed circuit board but it was replaced quickly and efficiently. The whole system cools the house very well in out hot summers but is not so good at heating in the winter. However, we are generally very happy with it and sound has never been a real problem.
Thanks for the thorough answer, Leigh!
Please advise the dimensions of this ceiling-mounted unit together with the external unit? Also the unit component weights.
Thanks.
Hey I am a consumer like you so I don't know those technical answers. Sorry .Should direct tho se to a Daikin sales person. Try perhaps AGL show room staff?
For a 197sq meter house will these specs be sufficient?
Heat 15.0kW
Cooling 12.5kW
Ken, I think it's best to ring the Daikin people or some other company and ask those sort of questions as there are guidelines as to size and capacity. Furthermore if its gas heating, for safety reasons as well, professional recommendation is important. I was told years ago that there is always some portion of unburnt gas which needs to escape from the room for health reasons.Hence over sized heater is contra indicated.
Ken I’m sorry I’m unable to answer your question as I think the best way to go about it is to get two installers to give a quote and see hat they both suggest this is the way I went about it and they both suggested 10kw and to play it safe I said I want to go to the next size which was 12.5kw and went with the guy I thought most confident with and as it turned out he was fantastic and I couldn’t be happier. In the first place I tried getting information from Daikin but they don’t give any recommendations as they said every situation is different. Hope this information is helpful Ken, good luck
