Reliable and quiet – This unit has been running fine for 8 years. It is very quiet. Easy to use and I have not had any problems. Cleaning is easy too. I have bought different air cons and this brand has impressed me. Don't forget that air cons use a lot of electricity, even when in standby, so you may want to turn it off at the circuit breaker if you go away.  Show details

Perfect for Cooling and heating – Excellent cooling and heating capbilies. Build quality is also good and has good many features such Auto Swing, Timer, and different modes such as economical and powerful to tune it to the requirements. Have been using it for about couple of months and not dissapointed at all. The outdoor unit is also quiet though it is kept just next to our bedroom's wall.  Show details

No problems in 8 years – No complaints at all. I was originally only using it for cooling , but had it relocated to another part of the house 2 years ago. I use it overnight for heating as off peak electricity rates are cheaper than what it costs my 3.5 star gas ducted heater. So it is in use 12 months of the year. I had a coolant leak when first installed, but that… Read more

was installer error which was rectified at no cost. I also had a Daikin in my last house for 7 years before we moved and would have no problems by another one in the future.

FTXD71JVEA – Installed 10 years. Repairs and maintenance have cost in excess off $1000. Recent repairs by Daikin recommended repairers for "gas leaks " at $496.74. which failed again within 3 months Very good for the first 5 years. Following that unsatisfactory. I would not recommend. I will be replacing this unit but not with with another Daikin.

Worth the money, great item – We had this unit installed in 2008 and it has never let us down. It does the job effectively and efficiently, cools our house in summer and warms it in winter with no complaints. Thoroughly recommend Daikin inverter r/c airconditionders. Have not one regret or complaint with the purchase of this product. Very efficient and does the job whether heating or cooling. Nothing so far in 5 years of operation, without a service so far mind you.

Terrible – 7 weeks later and I'm still trying to get it fixed. Customer service is terrible. They dont care! Buy a Mitsibishi. I know 3 people who have had a Mitsibishi for nearly 10 years and they have not had a problem with it at all. I'm trying to get a refund and purchase a Mitsibishi myself. Google Daikin complaints before you purchase a Daikin.… Read more

Others have had similar problems. I purchased a Daikin because it was the leading brand & I heard all good reviews. It died after 2 weeks having only used it 3 times.

Excellent – I purchased Daikin as I had a multi system in my last home and not an ounce of problems with it, I think if I have the same performance with this one then great, It works really well I have it in a room with a very high ceilings and I find that setting it at 26 degrees does the job very nicely if you put it on in the morning when it starts to warm… Read more

it it just does its job all day long, lovely. Both the indoor and outdoor units are fairly unobtrusive and therefore do not really draw attention to themselves, both units are very quiet in their operation, I really like the economy button I dont think when used that it affects the strength of the cooling effect very much as I dont really notice any difference, I also like the power button for a quick cool down, I love the way the fan blade can go in many directions and the remote is groovy. Nothing so far.

Terrible – It appears that Daikin is taking the cheap route and is well on its way to losing its reputation. That a blown motor should blow the circuit board shows that there is no overload protection on the board. I.e. a very cheap jack set up. Service department only seems good at sitting on their hands and stonewalling. I'm not looking forward to… Read more

footing the bill when it next fails, probably just out of warranty, in the middle of Summer. Quiet outdoor operation. Horizontal/verticle swing louvres. Remote has very limited range. Blew a fan motor which blew the circuit board after only five uses over two weeks from installation. Service technician arrived after over a weeks wait without a replacement circuit board.

Good – I looked at many units and installers before choosing to go with a Professional Air conditioner specialist company and I know that is what made all the difference they don't sell fridges so why would you buy an air conditioner from someone who does. Always go to an expert in Air conditioning forget the discount stores. We are extremely pleased… Read more

OK – The Daikin did not live up to my expectations regarding build quality and has some annoying noises but it is a flawless workhorse when it comes to heating and cooling my home. I purchased this model over a similar sized Fujitsu 12 months ago. My decision in the end was based mostly on the reputation of Dakin. The indoor and outdoor units are very… Read more

very quiet, you certainly won't annoy the neighbours with this one (aside from some annoyinh indoor sounds lised in the cons section) and the remote is also good quality. It performs brilliantly in all condtions. I use ours for heating, cooling and dehumidification all year round. The indoor unit is not the quality I expected from Daikin. I find it's construction in the cheap side. The unit is made in Thailand, the older Daikin unit I own that's installed in another part of my house, is made in Japan and of much better quality. The indoor unit maks annoying creaking noises when the fins move from side to side it also make annoying tink tink noises when in heating mode.

Good – When this unit was first installed, a 'board' inside blew after 2 days. Because we are in a remote location and used a local contractor, he basically had to prove to Daikin that he was fit to install the unit before they would do anything (he is a licensed and competent installer). Once that was out of the way (lucky the installer was friendly… Read more

and helpful) then they promptly repaired the unit and it hasnt missed a beat since. On very hot days (40+) it has trouble keeping up, but it a very large room with raked ceilings and lots of glass facing North, so not unexpected really. Power consumption is really, really good (I kinda think maybe my new meter is not reading right thats how good it is) Both the inside and outside units are exceptionally quiet. Good service once the installer was 'cleared by the jury'. Heating, quiet, good on power Cooling not so great, had an issue with it when first installed
