Bought a David Reid built home from the original owner down at Hyams Beach. Every place in the house there was waterproofing required has leaked and cause severe damage to the rest of the house. Their care factor is zero. Had to gut 2 bathrooms 3rd on its way... They take no accountability or responsibility and they tell you that they are no longer in operation but they are still building and their signs are up everywhere. Seriously AVOID !! There are many houses in the Jervis bay area that are in the same predicament.

The original owner and myself have contacted your offices several times and you have advised both of us that you are no longer in operation, and that you have retired, but we see that you are working down the street on a very large house. Several houses in the area built at the same time have had exactly the same issue with waterproofing and you are very aware of it. I will contact your offices again and i will report what the outcome is. My builder will look forward to chatting with you as well.
We would NOT recommend – Our build was not managed in a professional way The build workmanship was very poor. Due to the lack of supervision.The matrix board was NOT to James Hardie specIfications. We have a main bedroom door that will not shut We have a rubbish pile not removed after 4 months. Plaster on windows , paint on concrete , concrete on fence. Rust on tiles. Our builder thinks that filling up a gap near the roof with silicone (that happened after the Matrix board Sprung out ) is acceptable on a $800,000 home. These are just some examples of many more problems we had.

Forget it / don't do it/ dodgy work ethics, do not trust – I take writing a bad review very seriously, our lives have been a nightmare. Work was performed without our knowledge or consent, contract was not followed, we did not sign variation forms for the work that we did not know about. Locked out by [name removed]. Waiting for a hearing.

David Reid Homes - Fraser Coast – We live in Melbourne while our house in Hervey Bay QLD was being built, all communications with our builder Tony were by phone and email. Tony promptly responded to all communications and provided regular updates with photos. His professionalism coupled with openness, honesty and friendly manner gave us confidence that the build was in safe hands. He was forthcoming with discussing any issues along the way and was eager to resolve them in the most cost effective way. We are very happy with the quality of the finished product. Tony is a first-rate builder and we would highly recommend him to anyone.
