The worst – This review is for Decor 3-in-1 Egg Cooker After more than 40 years in Hospitality I have come across some extremely bad/poor cooking items and this would be 1 at the top of the list It was 1/2 price at Woolies on clearance and can see why even 1/2 price it's still a total waste of money Avoid it ,!! Show details

Does not work, waste of money – Cooked one egg as per instructions and the egg white only partially cooked and floats in what is left of the water after draining. Concerned I made a mistake I checked the reviews on Woolworths where I purchased it and 2 out of 3 said what I said. Was not game to try eating any of it. Show details

Waste of money – Complete waste of money, I followed the instructions exactly for poached eggs and both eggs exploded in 40 seconds, blowing the lid off and making a mess of the microwave. Show details

I loved poaching eggs in my egg poacher – I got one of these from a friend with no instructions. First time eggs were hard and they wouldnt come out of the tubs. Thanks to this post hot water underneath. I sprayed the tubs with oil and they slipped out after running a knife around edges. I might have cooked for too long but did it in spurts of 30 seconds and oh I forgot to put the lid… Read more

on but no matter all fixed now lol. Dont know how long it takes but worked out approx 50 seconds for 2 700g eggs. Will use again as am trying not to eat fried foods x

Do NOT add water to the cup with the egg! – The secret to perfect poached eggs is NOT to add water to the cup with the egg, just into the bottom of the poacher! Once I discovered this I’ve had perfectly poached eggs every time. Add spinach and mushrooms to the other cups and its a quick, easy and delicious breakfast Show details

Perfect First Go! – I wonder if people here giving low reviews are following the instructions! Must out boiling water in bottom first, and check what wattage your Micro is. I got great eggs the first time and ongoing. Show details

Too much trouble – Putting boiling water in the tray and then filling up the cups and then trying to get eggs out with a spoon...all too much trouble...you can find a 2 egg poacher on ebay that is much easier to use Show details

Big disappointment – I followed the instructions exactly and ended up with completely runny, watery whites and knobbly yolks. Totally inedible. What was wrong? My eggs were fresh. My microwave is fine. It was such a disgusting result I wouldn't even try again. It all went into the rubbish bin. Show details

I’m not a poached egg fail anymore – Followed YouTube video instructions exactly except took 10 secs off cook time as I have 1200w microwave. Used 2 x 700gm eggs. Cooked perfectly, soft whites and half runny yolks. I’m teaching hubby how to use it tomorrow. Show details

Takes practice! – Got mine on sale for $2 at Aldi, When i first tried this, i had the same issues as everyone else, overcooked yolk and undercooked whites. Took me 3 goes and i figured out what works for my microwave was to pour boiling water up to th fill like and put the lid on, microwave for 1 min (just water, no eggs), then quickly put the eggs in, microwave 2 mins= perfectly cooked runny egg.  Show details

Finally one that works – I've purchased and tried many different microwaves egg poachers over the years only to end up with exploding or rubbery eggs so was quite sceptical when I spotted the Decor bright red microwave egg poacher sitting in a clearance bin at Aldi. It was only 4 bucks and as I'm renovating my kitchen so have limited cooking appliances I thought "why… Read more

not". Well, what an amazing little egg cooker. I followed the easy instructions and within 2 minutes + 1 minute wait time my perfectly poached eggs slide easily from the cups onto my plate. They held together, were perfectly cooked, well set with a soft yoke and were light and fluffy, just as I've had them when at cooked in restaurants. Washing up was also easy. No egg stuck to the cups like previous models I'd tried. If you love your poached eggs but like me but can't make them I highly recommend this awesome little egg poacher. I noticed Decor also make a microwave bacon cooker. I think I'll be getting one of those to try as well.

A handy device – Product works - you must have just boiled the jug before you put the water in as water at a lower temperature means the egg doesn't cook in the time allocated. I also put a drop of vinegar in with the egg to help the white to set. I used one minute 30 secs for eggs that came out of a 700 gram packet.  Show details

Exploding mess – Bought today from IGA after seeing advertising on telli. Because Im on my own I tried 1 egg after carefully reading the instructions and the egg exploded leaving a real mess in my microwave. I will try again with a suggestion from one of the reviews on this page. Dont put water in the cup, put spinach in the other cups. See how I go.  Show details

Very happy with result and product! – Easiest way to poach 4 eggs at once by far. It took 2-3 times to get the perfect result but keep in mind egg size is different every time so adjust time accordingly. If it's the smaller size eggs from 600g box then 1min 20sec is good. If 700g eggs then 1min 30 sec is perfect.  Show details

Good result but takes practice – Thought this would be nifty because you could poach 4 eggs at once, something I struggle to do the traditional way without making a scrambled mess. The first time I tried the decor egg poacher the yolks were slightly overdone so I just altered cooking time. As the instructions say, you do need to be careful when pouring boiling water over the egg… Read more

otherwise the whites get a bit scrambled. The whole process seems overly complicated the first time you try it, and there's quite a few parts to wash up. With practice you can get a good result, but not sure if it's any better than doing it the traditional way with 1 pot, white vinegar and some practice in the end... I wouldn't say I've wasted my money as it does work once you get the hang of it, and the parts can be used for other things if you're not happy with how it cooks your eggs!

Absolutely useless item – Just used Decor 4 egg microwave poacher as per instructions and it doesn't work. Takes 5 minutes not 1 minute 20 and solidifies yoke and barely cooked egg white. Absolute piece of garbage would recommend no one buy this. Will never use this again. Just like most of Decor's current range not so cheap but crappy.  Show details

Do not follow their instructions – Disaster if you follow their instructions... I agree with all the bad reviews and you lose most of the white. Follow the initial instructions, but Instead ADD THE BOILING WATER AFTER they come out of microwave for minute plus 10/20 secs. rest for about minute, perfect. Ps I did not need fifty words for this!  Show details

Do NOT buy these products – The poached eggs are terrible and the bacon cooker melted in the microwave. They are not "microwave safe". The egg cooker requires water to be added to the top of the eggs with the result that the finished product is eggs with runny whites and hard yolks. The bacon cooker was unusable after the first time as it had a big melted hole in it.  Show details

If you don't know what a poached egg is this is awesome!!! – After many attempts it is clear all this item does is turn perfectly good eggs into inconsistently cooked ice hockey pucks! I have tried many ways of cooking eggs and even time they have been done in a microwave the result is the same. They turn into rubber!!! If you have any clue about cooking do not buy this.  Show details

Better than expected! – I love poached eggs and, as someone who owns chickens, not being able to master the poaching process was messy and frustrating. Woolworths were selling these half price so I gave it a shot, despite my initial skepticism. Just follow the instructions and you're set! If you have an ancient microwave like we do (my parents purchased it back in… Read more

the 1980s) you might need to add 10-20 seconds. Make sure you use boiling water, not tap-hot or recently boiled. After cooking, let them sit for a minute as instructed but not longer (they will continue to cook for a time).

It really couldn't be any easier.

Perfect eggs – I misread the instructions so I don't put the boiling water on top. I cook for 1.5 mins give or take for 1 or 2 eggs and baby spinach in the other cups. I check and add a 10 sec burst if needed for bigger or more eggs until the egg whited are not clear. Easy to pop out of the cup. No mess. Easy, quick, perfectly cooked breakfast every time.  Show details

Awesome, now I can cook eggs – Not the best eggs I've ever had, but definitely the best eggs I've ever cooked myself. Follow the instructions perfectly and it works great. One min for two eggs or one min twenty seconds for four eggs. This final line is because the review is a fifty work minimum.  Show details

Useless poacher but all is not lost! – I followed the instructions and after an initial failure (yolks overcooked and whites underdone), I tried adjusting times but no matter which way the result was poor. I contemplated returning the item but have since made the most of a bad situation and intend to use the egg 'cups' as icecream/jelly cups for my grandchildren, the insert to… Read more

Waste of money – Bought the egg poacher and bacon cooker a while ago. The process of cooking the eggs seems unnecessarily complicated with boiling water under and in the egg cups, risky keeping it level getting it in and out of microwave. Eggs had solid yolks and broken down uncooked watery whites. And I am quite used to my microwave power and adjusting power/time… Read more

as needed. I will return to microwaving eggs in my little pyrex ramekins. As for the bacon cooker, tried it a few times. Basically you get steamed bacon. Get better results putting bacon on a plate and putting a paper kitchen towel over it in the microwave. Dumped both of these 'cookers'.

Waste of eggs and time – Complete waste of money, time and eggs! Tried numerous times based on the instructions, adjusted water levels & cooking time. Yolks always come out hard and whites uncooked! Would be great to know what size eggs the instructions are based on. Very frustrating and definitely does not look like the photos supplied or on the instruction videos.  Show details

Exploding egg trick – Tried first time one egg, exploded micro a mess, as an egg poacher its a peace of junk, i might be able to use it for something else maybe shot glasses, or perhaps i can cook bacon in it and cook eggs in the bacon cooker. Don't waste your money spend it on a counter meal.  Show details

Worked for Me – Being a poached egg lover for my breakfast, I was a little skeptical before buying this product after reading mixed reviews. I am glad i bought i, cause it worked for me. As most people said, follow the instructions and also it depends what eggs you buy. I usually the buy cheapest coles egg, and it worked for me perfectly. Poached eggs at my first attempt! But, microwaving plastic items is a debate for another day!  Show details

Not great – I’ve tried this for four eggs only so perhaps it’s more useful when cooking less however I follow the instructions exactly and it still doesn’t cook well. In order to get the whites cooked I have to extend the time to the point the yolks are solid. If you like hard poached eggs it would be handy but it’s not great for soft poached eggs.  Show details

Awful and frustrating! – I purchased both the egg poacher and bacon cooker. Both don't work. Egg poacher - I tried using it many occasions trying to get it right, now given up! Too frustrating and inconsistent results with the poached eggs. Bacon - was cooked to varying degrees - but not crispy, more like wet bacon. I tried patiently to get this right too, have now given up. Terrible products - shame decor!!!  Show details

Awesome – I love it. You definitely need to read the instructions, and the fill line could be a bit clearer but once you've got the gist of it, very simple and beautiful poached eggs. Clean up is easy. You may need to adjust to your microwave but for me 1 min 20 sec was perfect.  Show details
