Potential to be a great machine, but some has significant floors – I've had this machine since 2019 and I realise it has now been superseded by another model. functions always put the milk in first & esspresso second... WRONG! - the machine goes through so much water as it rinses out after every cycle, you're constantly refilling the tank & emptying the drip tray.

Occasionally if the moons align you get a good coffee, but I find it such an annoying machine.

Nothing but issues from day 1! – I had high hopes after purchasing this item for over $1,000 as a replacement for my Nespresso Delonghi Citiz and boy was I disappointed. that they could hear when the milk was frothing that an air pocket was present. Upon closer inspection, there was a 1mm gap between the lid of the milk frother and the container meaning air was getting in. The rep said they would send out a replacement milk frother but that is still three weeks away.

I then inspected the drip tray and noticed that was not sitting level and turned it over to find it was missing the rubber stoppers. Another contact to the service rep and they said they would send out a new drip tray and feet for it. I asked for a replacement unit but as these issues are not classified as serious faults, they won't replace it.

I then got thermometer after speaking to the rep to try and eliminate the warm coffee issue. The coffee coming out was at 75 degrees, what was expected. I was told that the milk should come out at 55 to 65 degrees. Mine is coming out at 40 degrees. The only way I could get this to be close to that temperature was to use temp milk but that defeats the purpose of having the milk frother in the fridge.

In conclusion, I could not be more disappointed in this product and what I spent on it and really should have listened to the reviews.

Buy with caution if you are considering this.

discovered the pre made coffee buttons poured out the warm drinks ! So what I’ve discovered is after many hours and days trying to get my perfect cup , I started to program each drink . I put say half milk and more coffee and bang my coffee is nice and hot . So guys, select the MY MENU button and start programming your drinks and you’ll get that hot coffee ( not burning hot ) but a really nice perfect temp . If you want it super hot , then simply add more coffee and less milk of course . I don’t touch the pre-made buttons anymore and just select my own programmed drinks. Hope this helps !

Overall it’s a great machine , super easy to clean and produces lovely tasting coffee.

Second dead unit in less than a month – Bought first one... Dead on arrival. Leaked water out the bottom of the casing on turning on first time. Checked and confirmed by Retravision Swapped. MILK... Can't suck up milk and froth just dribbles a bit of watery stuff and makes sounds

Returning and NOT replacing with another Delonghi

and found the hot was too hot and burnt my lips.

The medium setting was still too high for me so I ended up setting on the low setting which is still quite hot so I am not sure what people have been complaining about.

Oh, it may have been the Cappuccino setting.

Now, I have drank plenty of coffee all round the world and the temperature of the milk even with the low setting for the coffee was at a drinkable temperature on par with the temperature you get in a cafe. It's not supposed to be so hot it burns your lips and the other thing to remember if it was at a searing temperature, it would scald the milk and ruin the coffee completely.

I just wanted to put that to bed, coffee is best drunk at moderate temperatures, as hot or over hot temperatures make the coffee bitter and that is a fact.

Now, on to the setting.

Set the water at 1 hardness this way you will avoid short turn around in cleaning.Where I live the water is soft and probably in most of Australia it would be in the 2 to 3 setting. I do remember a long time ago trying to shampoo my hair in a hotel in Sydney and the shampoo failed to foam because the water was so hard but that was 40 years ago, and the quality of the water is quite different these days. What else did I do with the settings? I set the aroma at 4. I dialed all the volumes up except for the coffee setting which I dialed down .

My first cup out of the machine was a coffee and it was far too weak. I disabled the ECO mode. I increased the shut off time to 2 hours. I have been using a 5-strength coffee, but I also have some 8 and 9 strength which I expect to give me an even stronger flavored coffee, well, it did but it was bitter.

The coffee itself has a lovely crema and the density of the coffee is quite dark which I like and is to my taste. I could not fault the machine and having owned auto machines for over 15 years I can say this machine was excellent, until it was not.

Of interest, I found a reviewer said that this machine does not actually increase the amount of coffee if you want a double shot, it just increases the water.

Now I have to say I found this incorrect on a number of settings.

I tried my single espresso versus the Doppie + setting. The water quantity was the same as I changed this to match. When I removed the coffee pucks, I weighed them. The espresso came in at 14 grams and the Doppie + came in at 29 grams so in fact the machine does increase the coffee amount.

You can see that in the photo I have provided The Doppie is the one on the left in the plastic bag and the espresso is on the right in the last photo.

If you have a pod machine, I suggest retiring it for two reasons.

1. You are stuck with a fixed amount of coffee in the pod, which is around 7ml, and you are stuck with the quality and trust me there are plenty of junk capsules around.

The second and most important is the cost. I calculated that the cost of the pods was $500.00 more than buying beans for a year. I was using 4 pods a day for two cups that was around $2.00 to $3.00 a day.

I have included a photo that shows the quantity difference per cup, the capsule quantity is on the left and you can see there is a substantial difference between the two.

That alone is a good enough reason to spend $1,000 plus on a fully auto machine. Just my opinion for what it is worth but if you want a true coffee experience this De'Longhi Dinamica will fill your needs without breaking the bank and having to explain to your wife.

Ok it's 2023 and this machine is off warranty and just gone to heaven., as such I have downgraded my review. The reason is it keeps tripping my breakers and after finally getting it to run through a descale cycle which took me 6 goes as it kept tripping, I finally got it to descale, then all it wanted to do was flush the system like it was stuck in a cycle and could not get out. In the end the machine could not even be started, because every time it did, it tripped the breakers. frustrated and not looking forward to sending it off have a repair done I decided to buy a cheaper machine, because in all honesty, I used one setting, so why pay more for all the fancy stuff. I will review the machine another De'Longhi but cheaper, so I should have it in a week and let's hope I don't have to replace it after 3 years, because If I do, then that will be the last De'Longhi I will ever buy.

mixed, especially in regards to the temperature of the coffee, we have found a few reasons behind this and have just simple altered each coffee to suit us in taste and temperature.

Design - This design is absolutely stunning, we have the grey version and just love the look of it. It is a slim machine so it fits any where on your bench comfortably, it isn't bulky like most automated machines. The water catch and coffee areas have both been through the dishwasher several times and there has been no change in appearance or anything, unlike some machines we have had in the past that have faded or even cracked. The casing is super easy to clean and looks amazing every morning

Automated Milk Container - This is the best part of the coffee machine, we use this a lot. We use this for our coffees and for our sons morning hot choc, we absolutely love that it takes the guess work and effort out of getting the milk just right. We chose this automated version so my husband could use it without having to be taught how to make perfect milk and also to not burn the milk. There are three main settings but you are able to turn it to whatever froth you desire. Oh and I cant forget the fact that the milk contained is fully dishwasher safe making our lives so much simpler.

Coffee Bean Grinder - Such a simple easy process that leaves you with fresh tasting coffee every cupful.

Water Tank - The water tank comes with a filter to ensure any water you use is filtered and helps make a great tasting coffee every time. You simple fill and leave, you will be prompted when you are required to refill taking the guess work out of it.

Heating Pad - I am a little disappointed with this as you don;t have a timer on the machine to be able to start the machine 30 / 60 mins before you wake to ensure your cup is warm but in all honesty we don't even use it apart from storing our cups on it. Two suggestions would be to have a timer and a heat settings.

Hot / Warm Coffee - We noticed with a lot of reviews on this machine that people were complaining about how their coffees were luke warm which we have / do still experience but we now program our coffees to ensure they are hotter. I love my Latte's and being able to drink them straight away where my husband likes a hot cappuccino which we have achieved by programming it ourselves.
