Great at first, now overflowing with grounds – We bought this machine years ago and loved it at first. Then it broke and we had to have it repaired. Was going great for awhile but has started dropping grounds into the machine (not the grounds tray). The tray is not overflowing, it's dropping grounds to the side of it which creates a massive cleanup and it's impossible to get them all out… Read more
without pulling the machine apart completely which I would only let a professional do. I've tried adjusting the removable parts to no avail. I've given up on it and am now drinking instant coffee. It's a shame because I loved it before this issue! But it has always been a bit of a nuisance to clean..always multiple parts to empty and clean after use.
Gives trouble with ground beans dropping everywhere – Our machine is now 5 years old, it was a wedding present. We loved it at first but over the past two years it has given us endless trouble and been twice to the appliance fixer at vast expense. It drops grinds into the part of the drip tray which is below the infuser. The result is weak coffee. We have tried adjusting the bean grind size, have… Read more
carefully cleaned everything, soaked the infuser and checked our bean quality. But nothing seems to have fixed the problem .
Very happy – We have had this DeLonghi coffee machine for many years and it is still going strong. Gets used a few times each week and lots when we have guests. Has worked faultlessly all that time. I bought it as a birthday gift for my wife. Expensive, but worth it. (both the machine and the wife!) Show details
Excellent machine – We have had this machine for several years and it has lasted a household of heavy coffee drinkers well. It makes an excellent coffee and is easy to use and clean. It is much more reliable than previous coffee machines we have had. It is a bit noisy and the steam frother is quite fiddly, but otherwise it is a fantastic machine.
Love it – Had mine for over 5 years and still works perfectly. I make around 4-5 cups a day, it's a little loud, but hardly an issue. Great coffee and as someone else said, you can use any beans you like. Cant speak highly enough about what a great machine it is.
Very good machine – Is a good machine, little noisy, makes great coffee, saves me a fortune. Little temperamental, needs de-scaling far too often. Also frothier and steam nobs are dodgy and broke after 18 months.
Great for coffee lovers! – This automatic coffee machine is one of the more expensive ones but it is worth it. We wanted to get a fully automatic coffee machine and with this one all we have to do is push 1 cup or 2 cup button and then froth the milk and you have a perfect cappuccino. We found a certain brand of 'light' milk to froth the best, the instructions say use skim… Read more
for the best results. Great customer service with DeLonghi too! Good quality, makes great product, easy to use.
Bang for your buck – Good machine, good quality coffee. Freedom to use any bean which is the key. I buy beans from my favourite coffee shop for about $30/kg and I get almost the same quality coffee. Since the pressure is low (unlike cafe machines) the coffee ground is not used to its full potential, I think. But all home machines are the same pressure (must be a… Read more
safety thing) so it must be the same with all.
Works well, and saves me money in the long run. Have had no problems at all and we have about 4 coffees a day. Automatic, nice crema Noisy
Parts for Delonghi – We have ordered a part a piece that is on the end of the frother a plastic bit that has actually broken or split on the end. We have taken it to a Delonghi supplier in Boronia Victoria to be replaced .....that was in April....still waiting ...its on a ship somewhere...go figure..a tiny piece of equipment ...renders the product useless!! It was… Read more
good while it worked... bad parts replacement service...is there nowhere else in Australia that has the part...thats what we have been told!!
Look at other brands – Makes a good cup of coffee BUT Too noisy Coffee grinds make a hell of a mess inside particulalrly when used with pre-ground coffee and has got progressively worse with age. Neeeds to be descaled too regularly. My suggestion look elsewhere perhaps Saeco Looks OK, affordable Too noisy, too messy, requires descale to regulalrly
Good – This machine makes a great cup of coffee, and is very easy to use. You can adjust it, but it works great straight out of the box! We were previously quite happy with our upmarket Gaggia, but could not find parts to fix it (after 7 years of good use), and found out Saeco had bought them. However, now Phillips has bought Saeco, who knows where… Read more
the parts for Gaggia or Saeco are stored! (I'm not sure anyone knows!) Don't know which coffee machines are still going to be made in the future . . . so we decided to steer clear of Gaggia and Saeco. Would buy this machine again, after intially being a little worried about going for the cheaper option. Easy to use, easy to use, easy to use!!! You just can't make a bad cup of coffee with it! Easy to use. Cheapest bean to cup on the market (all DeLonghi's have the same "insides"). No mess with the dregs, simply empty when it tells you to after multiple cups. You can do 2 cups at once, or 1 at a time. For us coffee lovers, you can change the strength of the coffee; the size; and also adjust how it is ground (coffee mill). It's energy saving - it switches off after a certain time, which you can change (from 15 mins to 3 hours). A little noiser than our previous machine, and a little bigger, however this is nothing major! I also think you get a better crema on the coffee when you use it single shot vs doing 2 at once. Have heard that some people think it's not quite hot enough, but if you do a rinse first it makes it hotter. Bigger water reservoir would be great, but at least you get fresh water! :o)
OK – Not impressed. Got the machine through Westpac Rewards system. After two weeks of use am having to send it back to Sunshine Coast authorized repairer as it quit working. For the two weeks that it did work, good cups of coffee were enjoyed after a bit of fiddling. Have to wait and see if machine can be fixed or they send my a replacement coffee maker.
Not a great cappuccino maker! – When you froth your milk first, before making the coffee, you will have to wait at least 10 minutes for the machine to cool down, before the machine will be ready to make the coffee. The machine makes a good coffee, but it doesn't froth the milk enough, before you've finished your cappuccino, the froth is gone! Takes too long to make a… Read more
cappuccino, it's whole process!!!! Rather buy the model with the milk container, which can make an instant cappuccino. good espresso takes too long to make a cappuccino
don't froth the milk first...
Great Machine – Love the machine, takes a little bit of practice to make the coffee the way i like it, as so many options to change, recommended Lovely cup of coffee Noisy coffee grinder
