App won’t connect to phone
Bought this coffee machine. Have had 2 other Delonghi machines before. The only problem with this machine is u need to connect to the app to change the different beans. But when u try and put yr password in for your wifi it doesn’t let u. As soon as u start typing it in it changes to another screen on yr phone and spools. I rang Delonghi and waited almost a hr to b connected to someone only to b told they would have to call me back the next day. Never happened. I emailed them and five days later received a email with a link about connecting. I know how to connect to the app it’s just that it doesn’t allow u to type the password in. Other reviews have said the same thing 9 months ago so clearly there is a problem.

Makes Great Coffee.
I needed to replace my old coffee machine. Being totally blind, and a lot of things going to touch screen operation, finding a fully automatic machine I can use independently is a challenge.
I went to the Good Guys, and was assisted by Fiona. She showed me the PrimaDonna Soul. It is touch screen, but can also be controlled by an app on a phone or tablet. Fiona wasn’t sure if the app would be accessible for me, as I use the voice over screen reader built into Apple products to use my phone, She took the time to contact Delonghi to find out. ...
Read more Suzi Harper one of their reps offered to come in store, and let me connect my phone to a test machine, and see if it would work for me. Suzi spent over an hour with me, letting me test it’s accessibility, and showing me how the machine worked. While the touch screen on the machine itself is inaccessible for anyone who has a visual impairment the app is mostly accessible. There are some bugs, but they can be worked around if you are willing to do a few extra steps. You can’t wake the machine up using the power button if you want the app to connect. You have to use the app itself to wake it up. Getting the app to recognise the machine can take a few attempts at refreshing the search screen before it will find the connection. Once connected, the screen reader on the phone does not read all information clearly but it does read coffee selection and the preparation buttons. Love this coffee machine, my old one was about 8 years old. The coffee is great. I love being able to select the coffee of my choice with out being limited to which ever coffee someone has pre-programmed in for me. I would recommend this product to sighted and visually impaired people. The app does need some work though.Purchased in at The Good Guys Physical store.

Coffee everyday!!
We love our new addition to the kitchen. The machine is so easy to use that the children are making there own hot chocolates of a morning before school. Hubby is now making and taking his coffee to work rather than buying them on the way. The sleek design means it can be out on display in the kitchen and is great to offer plenty of choices to visitors.

Broke after 9 months!
We purchased the machine in June 2021. It broke in March 2022. It has been with the authorised repairer for 2 months now as they cannot obtain spare parts from Delonghi to fix it under warranty. What a terrible outcome - we bought this machine for convenience and it has been incredibly inconvenient not having a coffee machine for more than 2 months (and no idea when the parts might arrive. Delonghi's customer service centre wait time has been more than 45 minutes each time I have tried calling. I would never buy Delonghi again based on this experience.

Great investment
This machine has been amazing. I say its been an investment as the amount we were spending on Coffee vs what we have paid for the machine we have already paid for it after 6 months.
Being able to change the settings based on the beans has been really handy to get the most out of our coffee. The app is ok and can warm the machine up before getting upstairs to make my coffee.
Overall I've made over 600 coffees and have not had any issues at all. Its very intuitive and advises you when particular items need to be cleaned or emptied.

Not happy
Purchased an upgrade model machine this one. It has been working fine,,I have now came to my second time to descale, and it will not go off descaling, turned on ‘off several times, not only that it flooded the kitchen as the drip tray was overflowing at the back with no message on screen. Very poor considering the price it was. Now have to muck around and have it serviced. Really not happy. Hmmm would I recommend probably not.

Almost Excellent... but
✅ Once you go though a period of manual trial and error adjusting the grind and temperature for each bean you use it then becomes a delight to use and the quality of the coffee is good and very consistent.
❓ Despite being "fully Automatic" it requires an appreciable manual input and expertise to set up and get a decent coffee.
❌Milk frother tends to produce milk that is not hot enough - flat whites have to be microwaved.

Great Machine….shame about the app
Bought after a disastrous foray into the world of breville. This machine is fully automatic from turning on, to making the coffee, to cleaning itself.
Turn on and the machine brings up. Simple to navigate menu. Select the drink, make any changes to the amount of coffee or milk, and off you go. Takes a bit of experimenting depending on preference and size of your cups, but once you have worked it out no worries!
Great selection of drinks as well.
However the app is utterly useless. A gimmick I’m afraid and really de longhi should fix it or ditch it.
But I digress….. simple to use machine that makes great coffee. Worth the investment!

Poor value for money
I previously had the earlier model prima Donna, it had a more robust chassis than the newer, cheaper versions. The new machine demands continual descaling, and whilst supposedly offering dozens of choices...well, if you count hot water, iced water etc as choices....sure. customer service is unresponsive. We've just installed a jura at work, and it's definitely a more elegant looking machine that produces a much better cup of coffee.

So Far We Are Very Impressed
My wife and I have owned this machine for about 6 weeks, and so far we have made about 150 cups of coffee. Although it is still early days there are things we can confidently say. We are very impressed because it is simple to use, offers a wide variety of choices in coffee styles, heats up very quickly, and delivers excellent coffee. It does work well, but as you need to be near the machine for various functions we now don't see any point in using it. This machine replaces a fully automatic Gaggia we had for a decade which was a very good machine. However the DeLonghi is a marked improvement in every respect - the quality and variety of coffee is much better, it's easier to clean, the water, bean, and dreg drawer capacities are larger, and overall this machine is easy to use because the digital display screen guides the user. We like that we can lock in an individual Profile per user (limit of 5 Profiles). The machine then remembers the preferences of that Profile. It is simple to set/adjust the settings for an individual Profile to customise preferred coffee type and size. Also the machines settings can be adjusted to suit the beans being used. So far we have made capaccino, flat white, expresso, long black, and cafe latte coffees, but there are more choices available. We selected the machine after considerable research, and after questioning the retailer at length. We were concerned about the price as it was higher than we had expected. As we also bought an extended Warranty (as we did with the Gaggia) the price we paid was high for us. In the case of the Gaggia the extended warranty proved to be worthwhile. However the price for the DeLonghi seemed to be on par with competing models/brands. NB: It is very important to thoroughly read the Directions before plugging the machine into power. My wife is very happy with this machine and in this household that's the ultimate test. At this early stage we recommend this machine unconditionally.Purchased in .

Worked great for a couple of months, then it started playing up
We bought this late last year and have been using it 2 or 3 times per day since. It does make a good cup of coffee, it has to be said.
About a month ago, it started playing up - after making one cup successfully, it would stop part way through making the second cup. For example if you wanted to make two cafe lattes, the first one would be fine but the milk would stop about half way through on making the second cup.
The machine makes a sound of steam escaping and then just returns to the home screen leaving you with half a cup of hot milk. As...

You have to select the beverage you want again, then wait until the milk gets to the level needed, then press stop and it will then grind and deliver the coffee. If you are making a coffee-first beverage, then it dispenses the coffee and then stops part way through the milk. You then have to use the hot milk function to finish it off. So far from being fully automatic, it is now a hands-on manual machine, you can't just push a button and walk away. I contacted DeLonghi last week but have so far had no reply. I read all the reviews before purchasing, and noticed a few bad ones for this machine to do with leaks, however this is supposed to be a new model, so we decided to go ahead. I also noticed the bad reviews about poor customer service, which we are experiencing now. For such an expensive purchase, it's disappointing to have it break down so soon. If just getting our money back and buying a different brand was an option, we would be doing that. So I had to ring them again, waited on hold for 45 minutes and finally spoke to the lady who called, who was actually very helpful. She arranged a courier to pick the machine up to take it to the repairer (2.5 hours drive away). Three weeks before they can even look at it and then an indeterminate amount of time to fix (depending on parts etc). A week or so after that I finally got a response to my original 'contact us' enquiry. Bland tasteless coffee
We purchased the soul for Xmas.
After one month of research and fine tuning I think our household all agree that the soul primadonna was a regretful purchase. The coffee comes out bland and tasteless no matter what we try. We went to our boutique cafe and purchased some of their premium beans which taste and smell amazing at their coffee store. But trying that in the primadonna soul just comes out bland and tasteless too. We have given up.

Made 2 coffees followed all instructions it was a happy little machine. Few hours later I go to show my H and it has an error about the infuser assembly not in. I didn't even know it had this. Hadn't touched it at all. So we followed all troubleshooting and the error won't clear. It thinks the infuser isn't in the machine when it's definitely in the machine.
Both H and I are so disappointed. It's just a large ornament now. 2 coffees and it won't right itself.
There should have been a 1800 number on the side of the machine you can call. And if you don't have that go on line to DeLonghi.
We are considering buying a DeLonghi Prima Donna Soul, however, many of the reviews site water leaks and a very poor app. What efforts have been done to rectify this problem
