Went through two machines in 5 months. The first developed a mechanical fault after only two months — the coffee grinder warning light stayed on permanently no matter how much troubleshooting we did. We returned it and had it replaced, assuming it was just a faulty unit, only for the second machine to develop the exact same issue again after… Read more
another two months.
We ended up returning it and purchasing a Breville instead. The coffee quality was decent and it was definitely convenient when it worked, but reliability was a major disappointment for the price point.
I purchased the Evo 2 weeks ago. I don't have a coffee every day but I'm yet to have a decent coffee produced by this machine. I specifically bought it because I like cappuccinos and lattes. No matter which drink I select, it spurts out a mass of frothy milk and a shot weak coffee, even when I put it at the strongest setting. A latte is NOT a… Read more
cup of frothy milk with a shot on top! A cappuccino is not a shot of watery coffee with 4 inches of froth on top. It's impossible to adjust the frother, despite the cheaper magnifica models and most other machines having this feature. I want to return it. The entire setup is false and misleading. It cannot make a latte despite having a 'my latte' button. It cannot make a cappuccino even though it has a cappuccino button. Even a basic black coffee is just dark dishwater. I adjusted the grinder to be a little finer and selected 3xbean strength (the strongest) but that didn't help either.
I spent time with 2 delonghi reps on the phone and neither of them thought a latte should have frothy milk.
I do not recommend this machine. It's a dud.
Only expresso has doubled shot option, to bad if you like strong cappuccino and unless you or your friends and family have the instructions it full of red warning lights that no one knows what it's for unless previously researched.. get use to anyone trying to use it, having no idea why it's not working properly, especially with pre grounded… Read more

Keep away from this horror – Horrible....had the evo for 1 day and tried to exchange but was told no. Its not automatic no matter what they say..i have to manually stop the flow..cant adjust the milk..i shouldnt have to put the amount of milk i want in my cup.. Putting it mildly..when i press say..latte.it will use the whole jug of milk and then its still too strong..and how… Read more

JIPPED – After spending $900 in this machine from Harvey Norman it broke down after 7months it was still under the year warranty I recieved... got it fixed (apparently needed ALOT fixed?) then 2 weeks later it broke down again. I ended up just chucking it out sadly...brand new not even 1 year old. Gone and bought a Gaggia. Don't buy this machine it does not last. I've had cheaper sunbeam and breville machines last way longer.

All rounder – Absolutely in love with it! I read so many reviews saying how hard it was to set up but that simply isn’t the case. Everything you needed to do was clearly listed in the instructions, we had it up and running in no time. The machine itself makes excellent coffee, it’s super easy to use. Would definitely recommend Show details · 1
Not the best – It's hard to setup! Going to settings is not a breeze at all. You always need a manual beside to work on it. Show details

Good coffee, but ergonomic flaws to sort – Overall we are happy with the coffee machine and once you've set it up it is fairly easy to use. However there's a few design flaws to point out. - It wastes a lot of energy and water rinsing are startup and turndown. If it's rinsed at turndown, no need to do it again. - it warns too late for low water level, often resulting in half cups going… Read more
to waste. If it warns at selection, you can fill up without wasting grind, water and energy. - in a dark corner you can't read the buttons, as the LED next to each button is bright. Just put the LED where it lights the text.
Setting up wasn't easy. Almost divorced my husband over it – So far I'm enjoying the coffee machine. It was a nightmare to set up. Whoever designed the instruction manual needs to loose his job. I ended up looking through videos online which explained things better. I like the idea that the machine cleaned itself (well nearly). It can be noisy to begin with but The coffee comes out nice and creamy, coffee… Read more · 3
is strong. My only issue is the coffee isn't hot enough. Now I've tried using the functions as per videos but it's still warm. Does anyone know how this machine makes hot hot coffee.
Access to Sydney Water is a Must – The coffee machine is a great Unit, the coffee is the nicest I have had to date. It has some cool features for the coffee connisuer. The only fault that irritates me to the core is this constant filling of the fresh water tank and then the emptying of waste tray. It is not as if I have 400 people living in my house it's just me and it's a daily… Read more
chore. If Delongi could fix that it is a winner. Coffee great, ease of use great, but that blasted water tank someone didn't think
Delonghi Magnifica Evo -Money for Jam! – I hope this detailed review helps anyone who is considering purchasing this total dud of a machine! We purchased this machine in Feb 2023 through JB with the expectation of a good reliable coffee for the price of near 1k and all we purchased was headaches!! Originally the latte and chino’s it produced were ok but then the list of problems started.… Read more
1. The descaling method and frequency is a joke but we decided to put up with this design floor at first to achieve a reasonable coffee. 2. After turning the heat to maximum setting the end temperature is still far too low so every coffee needs to be microwaved for 20sec before it’s ready! 3. The last and most significant problem was after a few months and continued phone support in regards to cleaning the carafe the milk froth just stopped producing a thick froth and we were left with just warm milk dribbling in our latte or chino’s! Delonghi suggested we take it to their preferred local service agent which we did but after 6 weeks at the store the repair technician agreed that the milk carafe couldn’t produce a thick froth! After all these problems we decided enough was enough and returned the dud to JB Glen Waverley. After a long winded discussion with the manager apparently the consumer now needs to organise a RA number through Delonghi itself to return their faulty product, which is pathetic in itself! Trying to comply with this ridiculous request was a nightmare through Delonghi as they just deliberately kept us on hold and refused to complete the request. This was after the manager and the repair technician spoke on my phone on speaker in agreement that the item wasn’t repaired OMG!! In the end we gave up and left the faulty machine with JB to organise internally so the the machine is now being sent off again to their preferred repair technician to try again!! You wouldn’t believe this was true but unfortunately this appears to be the current run around both retailers and some manufacturers are prepared to do to deliberately await a GENUINE return as hard as possible! We will now await the retailer’s response (without a machine over Christmas) and update this review accordingly.

Good but Slow – Makes good coffee but some issues. The processor is so slow that it takes forever to make coffee. Coffee bean holder is large but does not seem to feed evenly so still half full when needs coffee button lights up. The diagnostic lights are almost impossible to read. Instructions with machine are not good but customer service responds when questioned.
Awesome Automatic Coffee Machine – Bought this in the Black Friday sales 2023. 100 gift pack via redemption. Check online reviews for set up as I found this was easier than the instructions. Taked maybe 8-10 tried before the coffee comes out right. Easy to keep clean, comes with descailer. Only thing I wish was a little better was the size of the Milk holder. but other than that,… Read more
in the long run this will save me in buying when out. Daughter loves the espresso function to make iced lattes.

Can’t live without it – Amazing coffee machine Would highly recommend this machine. Makes beautiful coffee everytime
Design upgrade on proven functionality – This machine replaced our earlier model that suffered a wear issue. This one is all stylish black apart from the coffee delivery spouts. It looks smaller on the bench. A milk reservoir replaces the frothing tube so a consistent amount of frothed milk is delivered. Selection of coffee options is by visual image instead of text. Larger water reservoir reduces the filling frequency. All up improvement with minimal price increase Show details
Good, and reasonable price as well – It was time to replace my 12 year old DeLonghi and I did so by contacting DeLonghi and talking to them about my alternatives. Glad I did, they were very helpful and offered a couple of alternatives for my needs. This machine does everything I want it too; it grinds the coffee, it froths the milk. I set up a program the exact way I like my… Read more
coffee; the strength, the temperature and the size. The price was a pleasant surprise too, I consider it quite reasonable.
Replacement for 10 year old Magnifica – Lovely looking machine. Lovely coffee and milk froths well. Instructions are hopeless, videos show people pressing buttons really fast, this is not helpful for someone who is not used to this type of tech. Why not give proper written instructions like DeLonghi used to do. Disappointed. Show details · 4
Pretty good – We have had it for almost a year, works pretty well. The milk wand intermittently stops working though. Show details · 1
Really great coffee machine – only one button press to make a cappuccino – I bought the Magnifica Evo Titan in July and I am very pleased with my decision. The coffee taste is great and looking forward to trying a few different beans to enhance the coffee experience. There are really only three things that need to be considered/setup before making your first coffee. Go to the settings menu p22-24 in the instruction for… Read more · 4
use manual and set the water hardness. The default setting is 4, which applies to some European countries due to the hardness of their water. My area has great water and needs to be set to level 1 according to the test strip supplied with the coffee machine which also means less descaling. There is a test strip supplied to test water hardness in your area, so check this before changing the setting or making a decision on the filter. Due to the great water quality in my area, I elected not to use the filter and turned that function off in settings. I like my coffee hot so I also adjusted the water temperature to high. The only things that I have altered since is to add a bit more water volume to the Espresso setting and to increase the shutdown time to 3 hours as the machine was shutting down after 30 minutes. It also does a quick rinse each time it starts up and shuts down, so increasing the shutdown time reduces the amount of water used. It also has a flashing light on the rinse button to remind you to rinse the milk container after you have finished using the milk function. Our household makes about 8 cups a day, so every night I top up the beans, the water tank, empty the drip tray and the grounds container so that is ready to make my cappuccino in the morning. I believe a great practice for anyone buying this machine. The machine must be on while emptying the grounds container to reset container memory to empty, otherwise it is likely to tell you it is full when it is not. If you only have one or two coffees a day it will force you to empty the grounds container after 72 hours and will not make any more coffees until it is emptied and reset. Symbols are displayed to tell you to add water, empty the grounds container and to add beans. I normally only have one cappuccino a day and the rest black coffee, so I fill up the milk container on day one and put it in the dishwasher when it is empty after a couple of days. The milk container is quite compact and very easy to store in the fridge. Note if you make a My Latte it will use all the milk in the container, so only add enough for one Latte. My partner also loves this machine as it only requires one press of a button to make a coffee. There are also very few coffee machines under $1,000 that will make a cappuccino with only one press of a button, this is one of the best features of this machine. A good improvement on the pod machine that we have used for the last 6 years. There are 7 options on this machine and they only light up if available. If you do not connect the milk container, the 3 milk options will not light, if you do not connect the hot water spout the hot water will not be available. Not sure yet how long before I have to do a descale, but great that Delonghi supply product for one descale and one filter if you elect to use it. I found the instructions for the settings menu easy to follow in the "Instructions for use" and the Quick Guide made more sense after I had it for awhile as it only has pictures. I highly recommend this coffee machine.
absolute garbage – It uses so much water BETWEEN coffees, milk frother has died and it already needs descaling after 2 weeks Do yourself a favor and leave it in the shelf at the shops Show details

Absolute rubbish, stopped working after 3 weeks – Spent all this money on a machine that worked for 3 weeks!!! The frothing mechanism stopped working after 3 weeks. The coffee taste was lovely in fact all good when it all worked which was 3 weeks! To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. The delonghi help is also a joke. You cannot get through and only a small window/set times to contact them. I will NOT be buying another delonghi product!!! Show details

Machine breaks within 2 months – We bought this machine and were so excited to use it. Unfortunately, within a couple of months the machine stopped detecting the milk frother. Customer support was helpless and rather condescending. We took the machine back and got another one. This time, the milk frother blows hot air instead of pouring milk. For such an expensive machine, you would expect it to last a bit longer. Really disappointed Show details
Worst coffee I’ve had – Not capable of making a strong coffee even when adjusted as far as it goes Uses 3 times as many beans as a manual machine Steam doesn’t last so pits water into cup Awful, watery coffee that ruins your day Show details
Best value auto coffee machine on the market – Coming out of the pandemic, I sold my premium dual-boiler espresso machine and grinder and took the punt on the Delonghi Magnifica Evo following some research and a positive past experience with Delonghi. I came into this experience with much more wisdom and understanding of how I could further improve the coffee I get from a superautomatic coffee… Read more
machine.
So long as you:
- Use the water filter - Use fresh beans - not supermarket brands, but those roasted within the past 3-4 weeks by a local roaster - Rinse the infuser once a week as instructed in the manual - Dial the grinder in so the coffee pour is not to slow, and not too fast
You'll mostly get an espresso that is comparable with the $3-$4k setup I left. The grinder in particular seems really good - very happy with body and clarity which punches above its weight in cup for a superauto. The Jura S8 i demoed - at nearly triple the price - had better clarity but terrible body and mouthfeel. Very watery by comparison. Delonghi is definitely the machine for the Italian espresso lover.
Although the texture and body is greater on those set-ups, the Magnifica Evo - more so than the previous Delonghi I had - is much closer to cafe quality than any superauto I've tried. I'd say it's about 90-95 percent.
The only downside is the milk frother - we have the new and much smaller LatteCrema but it isn't as good as the old one. Milk not as creamy, sometimes tastes burnt (far too hot in cup - loses its sweetness). Delonghi needs to add milk temp settings in addition to the coffee/espresso temp setting to cater for all tastes. Fortunately, I am not a big milk drinker and my wife is happy enough with it.
Could you stick with the tried and tested Magnifica and Magnifica S? Yes - the Magnifica line is designed to be simple and this is a refresh on a great line. But what I like about it is the design and simplicity of drink selection - easier for partners and visitors to operate even if they're not the usual driver. Milk carafe (Despite temp issues) is much easier to keep clean and overall I like the new design. The TB model looks good in modern kitchens.
Good machine, ok coffee, hopeless manuals – I've had more than a few different automatic coffee machines over the years, so have a good understanding of what these machines can and can't do. This is my second Delonghi coffee machine and I must say it's fairly typical of their range. It's well built, looks nice, is easy to use and makes good (but not outstanding) coffee. reasonably quiet.
The grinder setting on this model allows for a finer grind than on previous machines, which is a nice improvement and helps to dial in the machine for a better tasting (and stronger) shot.
Milk frothing is okay, but I don't usually bother frothing my milk (I just pre heat in the microwave), so I'm not too fussed how good it is at frothing milk.
On the owner's manuals: as other reviewers have said, they really are pretty awful and virtually useless. Delonghi REALLY need to lift their game here. A poor owner's manual leaves a poor product impression and can lead to a poor review!
NEW MODEL AUTO COFFEE MACHINE - LOVE IT - BUT NOT DELONGHI CUSTOMER SUPPORT – I have had this Auto Coffee Machine now for several weeks. I purchased it from David Jones Online. Firstly lets talk about the unpacking!! Difficult for one person to remove the machine from the box that it came in. As it turned out cardboard corners are sharp, and resulted in 2 scratches, one to my leg and one to my foot (I was wearing thongs) -… Read more
which drew blood. Not a great start, but still I was excited!! Setting it up became an issue. This is an issue that other previous Reviewers have also mentioned. There is a multitude of booklets and a quick start guide - but all I really wanted was one set of directions, written in English, that shows you Step by Step how to set it up correctly. I found myself looking online and reading the many booklets supplied, which took forever. The Quick Start Guide shows Pictures only, and is VERY difficult to understand. Why don't Delonghi listed to their Customers - I don't know!!
Once I had finally set it up - it worked like a charm. They certainly have made much progress with these machines. My favourite Coffee is a Cappuccino, and once I worked out how to fill my cup to the top and add this to the machine, I was very pleased with the creaminess and rich taste of the coffee.
I decided to send a couple of questions to Delonghi Aus via their online email. I suspected that this would take a day or two to get an answer - Well I was wrong!! It took 10 days to finally receive my answers and was bitterly disappointed with this low level of Customer Support. Yes, everyone is busy these days but your level of customer support is sadly lacking bigtime!!
Today I went looking for an additional milk frother, so that when one is in the dishwasher. I can use the other. Well I did receive a timely reply from Delonghi this time. I was shown where to purchase this item on their website (Item Number 7313268961) - and then I was told that it is Out of Stock and will not be available until November, 2022!! I really couldn't believe this!! The only other place that I could find One for Sale had the price listed as $79.90 and $9.90 Shipping. On the Delonghi Website, it was listed for $34 with Free Shipping but as I stated, it was clearly out of stock!! Again, not what I expected for a Brand New Aus Model.
Don't get me wrong - I love my new machine - and use it every single day - but the Customer Support Level worries me should anything ever go wrong. Fingers Crossed!!

Love this machine - almost perfect – I have had this for a couple of weeks now and it is amazing. I would have given it 5 stars except it is not perfect. Almost perfect but a couple of changes (Mr or Ms DeLonghi - if you are listening) would make it perfect. First the good stuff. It is a very handsome machine that looks great on the bench. Not that looks are everything, but hey, I… Read more · 1
am a little bit shallow. It is incredibly easy to use once set up (see not so good points). It consistently makes great coffee once it has settled. From what I can tell all automatic coffee machines need to make several coffees to "season" the machine. The first coffee puck was almost non-existent, the second sloppy. It takes a few to get the coffee working but they tell you this. I actually threw out the first 4 coffees without even tasting. After it is seasoned the coffee is delicious (of course type of beans play a part too). I have the machine with the automatic milk frother and the froth is good and creamy. You can customise the coffee for different things. Strength, heat and also levels of liquid in the cup. The milk frother has a cleaning function so that it runs hot water through the spout so that when you put the milk carafe back in the fridge there is no milk in the spout to go off. Consistently quick and good coffee.
Now the not so good. Small things that added up to one point. First the set up. Not hard at all if the instructions were better!! Unfortunately they are all pictures with some of them making no sense to me at all. Mr or Ms DeLonghi.... just a couple of words would have helped enormously. Second the size of the milk carafe. Now I like a large coffee so it only hold enough milk for 2 coffees for me. I would have liked a bigger milk carafe. There are bigger ones on more expensive machines but I had to go with how many flybuy points I had to get it. 3rd having an easy way to get the beans out of the machine would be good. I tried some that I didn't like and it was very difficult to get them out and replace them with better beans. I don't know if other machines are the same and it is a small thing but changing them would make the EVO perfect.
If you are thinking of buying this machine - I would highly recommend it.
I have put a couple of videos on Youtube if you want to do more research before taking the plunge There is one for setting the machine up if you are struggling
