ALDI Dentitex Electric Toothbrushes

Decent replacement heads for the Dentitex SG-507 sonic toothbrush can be obtained from AliExpress, at a fraction of the cost of official ones through "Wisdom Brands". Lots of similar Chinese made toothbrushes. Search for Seago SG-507, Fairywill FW-507, or Atmoko HP126A. All the same. found it some months ago, It works very well. Soon after finding it, I needed to replace the brush head.

Like ALL the folk on this website, I too had problems finding replacement heads. Visiting countless Aldi stores in Sydney and elsewhere since early 2024, I was unable to source replacement heads. It is recommended to change heads every 3 months. At some Aldi stores I was told "it was a Special Buy, so expect it to be on sale any time now". That was 7 months ago.

Scanning the weekly catalogue proved the item was not sold in the last year.

At other Aldi stores I was told "not sure when they'll come in, but they will". Contacting Aldi head office twice, the second time I received a definitive answer: "we're not restocking the item. Not the electric toothbrush and not the replacement heads". So there you have it.

ALDI could not suggest what other brand's brushes would fit. Nor if a generic would fit. And they had no idea if anything from Temu or Aliexpress would fit.

This was BAD news given we have 3 such electric toothbrushes and we were very happy with them. Are we now meant to just throw them out because ALDI chooses not to restock the heads? Here's an idea ALDI: when selling the electric toothbrush and heads, tell the customers to stock up NOW as the item will never resurface for sale. The electric toothbrush will NOT be sold again and NEITHER will the replacement heads.

I told head office "that is a shame given (a) the family has 3 such electric toothbrushes at home and I tried 2 other brands (Oral B being one) and those heads do not fit the Dentitex toothbrush and (b) I am disappointed you can't even suggest a third party whose replacement head fits the Dentitex. What about Temu? Aliexpress"?

No suggestions were made by ALDI.

If the product was not so good, I would not have spent so much time looking for the replacement heads. And I mean SO MUCH TIME.

Long story short, I found replacement heads from another company that fits my Dentitex KHET 012. It also fits the earlier KHET 006.

From memory, depending on how many boxes of replacement heads you buy, there are 4 heads per box, it costs approx $9/box.

It has worked wonders for me, even my regular Dentist which I visit every 6-12 months said my oral hygiene and gums have improved (I had trouble before with gums) and he has not been able to find much to repair e.g. cavities etc.

My mouth has never felt better.

I am very happy and I am sad this is not anywhere on the market anymore -that I know of- as I have been looking unsuccessfully to buy more for my family and as a gift but no way to find it, NOT EVEN ONLINE :(.

I have had this toothbrush since I bought it from ALDI in Dec 2014 in Bedford UK. Of course I though ahead and bought an additional pack of spare replacement toothbrush heads in Dec 2014. We are well into April 2018 now and it still works and I ve only had to replace each head aprox every 4 months before they wear off.

I bought this some two+ years ago. It finally quit with a failed on/off switch. It replaced a big-brand model costing multiple times that of the Aldi and which had ceased to hold a charge after about two years of use.

The Dentitex is about the same size of the big-brand and just as easy to use.

The heads (brushes) of the Dentitex remain fully functional despite heavy use. Those of the predecessor big-brand self-destructed with use, requiring frequent changes at a high replacement cost.

I don’t believe in rechargeables sitting constantly on recharge. The Dentitex requires a recharge about once a month. Its predecessor big-brand barely survived a week between charges.

The head does just rotate (as did they all at the time of purchase) but I find that works sufficiently well for me – the only time I’ve seen the dentist in the last 5 years is when an old (read ancient) filling needed to be replaced.

On quality – the body lasted over two years before a mechanical failure, about the same time as its much more expensive predecessor. The first head failed mechanically at around 6 weeks, which was unacceptable. However the second head stayed functional for the life of the body.

So the advantages of the Dentitex to me are

- the upfront cost of the body plus two heads is a fraction of the cost of a big-brand (although the big-brands have released cheaper models since I bought it).

- the head (brush) remains mechanically functional for the life of the body. The big-brand heads needed to be replaced every two to three months at a disproportionate unit price that doubled or tripled the cost of the unit over its lifetime.

So cost of ownership is solely the upfront cost of purchase, averaged over its lifetime cheaper than buying manual toothbrushes (which are also designed to fail mechanically).

Great battery life, great initial price - but heads fail mechanically at 6 weeks which makes it expe – The good - at 6 weeks I was still running on the first charge so the Dentitex battery/motor unit is way better than my Braun "Professional Care", which lasts around half that time. Plus the initial price of the Dentitex is a fraction of the initial price of the Braun. The pattern and speed of the Dentitex heads doesn’t “feel” as thorough as that… Read more

The bad - after over a year of using the same head on the Braun, the only sign of wear was a spreading of the bristles. After 3 weeks of using the Dentitex, the plate holding the bristles started to separate from the head. At 6 weeks the gap was sufficient that it started to intermittently lock up the motor until I physically pushed it back into place.

Given the relative cost of the heads to the purchase price of the unit, the Braun actually works out cheaper over the long term despite its much higher initial cost.

Handy travel accessory – Loved this toothbrush. As USB Bluetooth supported they were great for travel & camping. So sad to see they have been discontinued. Best news... I Am Bold Over – This toothbrush is absolutely marvellous. It has brightened my teeth and ,made them so much stronger. This experience has been thoroughly life changing. Im not sure dentitex is an independent brand or part of Aldi. If it’s indeed can someone tell me where to find the replacement and if it’s part of Aldi then I guess we can’t have any hope as they’re the worst when it comes to customer service here in Australia.

Complete dud! – Purchased this and used it maybe 20 x over 3 months in 2023. Dentitix toothbrush – Bought one liked it but when time to recharge it wouldn't switch off and wouldn't charge I bought 2 pkt refills so decided to buy another one same thing happens when you try to recharge it. Disappointed – My toothbrush lastest for over 12 months but put in recommended replacement brushes and they were not sealed properly and water must have gotten in and now my toothbrush had died

Very disappointed only last 1 mth until motor died. They not properly waterproofed & I believe water got in – Disappointed at best, the toothbrush isn't properly water proofed & motor jambs up. Its head brush is rare to buy – It's been a long time I need to change the head brush but I could not find it anywhere even from the website. Even I have bought some heads from pharmacy in this brand to replace it but it did not work. Show details

Low cost electric tooth brush – This tooth brush is very basic, it leaves your mouth feeling clean however the head is rather uncomfortable, and if not used carefully can cause injuries. It is very hard to clean your back teeth with this. The battery life is very good and will last a few days without a charge. Will rip your mouth – It worked great for a while. Then I load up the toothpaste, put in mouth and doesn’t work. Have to take the head off and put back on a few times (which is hard with toothpaste on) and pray to the tooth gods for it to work. Now it has definitely stopped. It has been pinching my mouth and tearing it up for a while and I thought I was the only one. It really does rip it up- blood everywhere. Lost my receipt. So strange that it does this. Show details

recently it stopped working so with nothing to lose I pulled apart, cleaned & lubricated the small electric motor. Now running fine but believe may fail again so have bought the latest model on sale last week as a replacement for when it does finally die. Good value for money but if purchased I recommend to think ahead and purchase spare brush heads whenever available.

Dentitex tooth brush heads – Dentitex toothbrush heads, can't find them anywhere. Will report it to the ACCC. Boycott aldi for the 3rd world junk shop that it is. A total disgrace. The sooner aldi is gone from this country the better

I find it a good brush & the customer service was very helpful – I bought this brush after my Oral-B brush went faulty in a couple of months. I must be cursed as the battery died within a couple of months but... I am very please to say that the customer service from Dentitex was excellent and they sent me a replacement. The replacement brush is working very well. So, all-in-all I am happy. Will never go back to Oral-B
