Melbourne drop off: Very poor treatment from Menzies at airport drop off. Unfortunately it was more than 40 degrés that day and coming out of Airbnb I had no choice than arriving earlier than the set time. Unclear where to go. The lady at the control gate was rude and unfriendly. I had to ask many questions to understand the process and where to go - she told me to go for a walk and come back only at the correct time! It was more than 40 degrés and nowhere to go. I had to sit on the ground with my dog in a car park . She did not offer to wait in her office despite the extreme hot weather). She said bad luck your taxi has gone… Dogs wait in an area without air conditioning In Townsville you can wait inside in aircon.

We moved 4 bulldogs and 3 cats from the Sunshine Coast to Christchurch NZ last week. We have just used Shaun and his team to transport our bulldog home. His service was brilliant, great clear communication, professional and everything went exactly as detailed. made a stressful activity stress-free and so smooth, from start to end. Each time I called or email, Leanne and her team have been prompt and responsive to all of my enquiries and questions. The night before the scheduled flight, Leanne went above and beyond, after hours, to ensure she addressed my urgent requests.

Once my puppy got to NT, a representative from Departure Pet met me at the pickup location. Overall, Departure Pets have exceeded my expectations, from their customer communication and liaison to logistical services. It had been a genuine pleasure to deal with such a professional and passionate, reliable and friendly team.

reunited. Transporting a pet was super nerve racking for me, but the team at Departure Pets made me feel like getting him from NZ to Perth safely and quickly was personal for them as well. I can’t remember her name! But the woman the picked up my boy and cared for him overnight was really lovely too. She let my family say goodbye to him, showed them the crate he’d be using for his flight, told us what he would be having for dinner! And even sent us update pictures and texts to reassure us. You can’t ask for anything more when it comes to someone else handling your dog (my world).

Thankyou for looking after my dog so wonderfully. She is a rescue dog and it was a big trip for her from the rescue centre outside of Bundaberg down to Hobart. You organised all her travel and liaised with the rescue centre, making it very easy for me. She arrived in good spirits and has settled in well.

caused a terrible experience for both ourselves and more importantly our animals. We flown 5 animals from Sydney to Portugal, with supposedly just a stop at Doha. I am saying supposedly, as the paperwork that was attached to the creates stated the end destination was Paris, not Lisbon. At the time of writing this review, we haven't heard back from the company whether they actually had an additional stop in Paris or whether they made a very, very amateurish mistake by putting down the incorrect destination on the paperwork. There were some heavy delays when the animals finally arrived through customs. So it is hard for us to know whether they actually were delayed because of a stuff up in the paperwork or whether they lied about it being a direct flight from Doha to Lisbon, but I mean, who does not check the final destination on the paperwork?!

Among one of the things their friendly staff told us was to put some items in the creates with smells they are familiar with to make their trip a tiny bit more comfortable and the company would provide comfortable bedding. Well the bedding was never provided and the animals spent a good 40 hours in a hard uncomfortable crate with out the promised bedding, soaked in their urine. Yeah, not for an hour, but 40 hours or so. On top of that they lied and stated they did provide bedding and customs must have removed the bedding. Well funny enough, we were provided a demo mattress and put it in one of the carriers, and hey, that one was still there. What are the odds that for the other ones which were "provided" by departure pets were removed and the demo mattress we put in happened to be left?! Perhaps that lie would have worked when there was just one animal, but because one out of the 5 still had the demo mattress it clearly wasn't true.

Another line they used was, they are the "last to board and the first of the plane". Again this maybe true, but they provided us with photos. These photos were sent 6.04pm. Their flight 21.40pm. Judging by the photos they were just dumped on the tarmac, I was expecting a sheltered place, away from noise and trucks roaring past. I am guessing Departure Pet does not pay overtime and their staff took off as soon as possible. They refer to your animals as your babies, but they don't get treated as such. Have a look at the pictures, one of our cats with a terrified look on his face and the other hidden under a blanket. I expected this scenario for 30 minutes max, not for nearly 4 hours.

Anyway, this is our story, don't make it yours.

I posted the above on Departure Pets Facebook page first, to see their responses. Apparently it is filled with inaccuracies. I am sure we'll see a similar spiel below soon, but it is disappointing, I did not expect they would continue to lie or maybe it is just incompetence. I simply don't know which option is worse. One of my "inaccuracies" was that my comment on the paperwork was unfounded, so I have attached a copy of their paperwork as well. But I am sure this is an additional inaccuracy on our end, right? Anyway, for anyone reading this review, choose wisely unfortunately we didn't.

Professional, kind, understanding and affordable pet transport – I feel the need to leave some feedback re the transportation of our pup Maggie Taberer (Maggie T) from Rockhampton to Adelaide. WERE AMAZING!!!! They made the whole journey so easy for both parties involved. Communication was key! And they communicated often. Everything from enquiring, quoting, phone conversations, how to get Maggie-T ready for flying! Making payment was so professional & smooth. Nothing was left to us to organise. I had one hundred questions circling my brain and their communication covered everything! And I mean everything! So many answers to any problems that may arise. overnight facility and transported to their flight the next day. We were on the same plane so I was able to observe their boarding which was reassuring. Upon arrival in Perth they were delivered to my address and arrived about ten minutes after us. Throughout the journey we were kept updated about their movements with photos of them at the overnight facility. I would definitely recommend choosing Pet Departures.
