professionalism with how they go about their business, they don't respect appointment times, delays followed by excuses. unqualified unlicensed work left with defects that I've had to pay someone else to fix. The owner Br**d justified the defective dodgy work with more lies and excuses because once they get their money they don't give a sh**. Warranty is non existent with zero after sales support. The blind doesn't go all the way up and gradually lowers itself.
Issue 3 Our wall bricks were broken and replaced during construction, and now cement is messily smeared on the bricks.
Issue 4 The small company installed two outside blinds on April 24th, and on May 14th, I noticed a strange noise coming from one of the blinds and asked the owner Bra* to fix it. Instead, he told me to clean it myself.
Issue 5 There were three types of blinds, but I was led to buy the most expensive one. I wasn't told that there were two other options. When I found out later, I was very disappointed.
Issue 6 Before receiving the payment, the owner was responsive to calls and messages. However, after receiving the money, when I contacted them to resolve the issues that arose, they stopped answering calls and ignoring messages. Eventually, I reported them to Fair Trade.

#Delayed Measurements and Refund Request After paying the deposit, the company's staff assured us that an employee would visit to measure the exact dimensions before making the blinds. However, despite this promise on a Wednesday, the company did not contact us until the following Monday.
Frustrated by the delay, I reached out to the company. Lis* informed me that it would take 1-2 months for the installation to be completed, starting from the time the measurements were taken, as only then would they begin making the blinds.
Feeling misled, I requested a refund and sought a quote from Franklyn. The owner, Bra*, responded, claiming that "the blinds had already been cut," hence a refund was not possible and thanked us for our deposit.
I suspected deceit, as no measurements had been taken, making it impossible for the blinds to have been cut. I asked for proof and mentioned contacting Fair Trade.

During my dispute with the owner, I received a quote from Franklyn, revealing a significant price difference of $2,061.50.
Earlier, I realized that the salesman had only introduced me to the most expensive blinds, Ezip, despite there being three options. This omission made me feel betrayed.
Franklyn informed me that they do not supply Ziptrack due to numerous issues and only provide Zipscreen.
#Broken Brick During Installation On 21/02/24, I made a deposit to the company, and the construction began on 05/04/24. Our house, being less than a year old, sustained damage when a brick was broken during the blinds installation and the installation was halted.
#Wrong Brick and Messy Repairs On 21/04/24, they brought the wrong brick due to the owner's oversight. A few days later, they returned on 24/04/24 to install the correct brick, but now there was messy cement smeared on the bricks.
I waited to see how they would handle the situation. The owner came to clean it on 14/05/24, three weeks later. When he arrived, he asked if I had an air gun. What would he have done if I didn't have one?
He brought some chemicals, applied them, and used my air gun to clean it, but it didn't work. It turned out he had brought the wrong chemicals. Then he said something that left me speechless: "The method to clean it is on YouTube. I'll give you $50; can you go to Bunnings, buy the right chemicals, and clean it yourself? It should be easy. It would take me about 2 hours to come back."
The biggest problem is that the owner intentionally does not answer phone calls and ignores text messages. The blinds make a loud noise and won't go up all the way. I really want to cry.

Poor product quality & horrible customer service – Poor quality goods & service. They have my mum waiting around all day for them to come fix it, and they cancel last minute. poor product.Their product is not fit for the purpose described as advised by sales person and does not meet consumer guarantee as per the department of fair trading guidelines.
We gave this company many attempts to repair blinds however have failed at each attempt. Brad also advised to give them another chance, if not satisfied he would refund. Again this did not happen. (see image of text confirming this)
Complaint has been made towards them through fair trading and accc and will be taken seriously.
This company only interested in taking your money. Very disappointing.
Also wish to note upon installation of product they also requested my husband to help them with install and to supply ladder. All this is available on cctv camera to view and prove unorganised company. Do not trust this company will not recommend to anyone.

cannot entirely sit on the floor which will invite cockroaches etc in which was the whole idea of securing it from insects etc. You might still need some door draughts etc.. There is also a gap near where it locks.. Again mosquitos can quite easily come through..

When you pay so much for the product you expect a good customer service post installation.

done, the sizeable deposit had been paid, and it came time to schedule the actual installation of our large awning, the cracks in their customer service started to show and the disorganization within their business became very evident i.e. the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. It took a number of rescheduled installation attempts to get the awning installed. We were given all kinds of excuses and told numerous untruths by Ben. In addition, we were informed that the additional Wind Sensor that had been requested as part of the original order would be installed at the same time as the awning. When the installer eventually arrived to perform the installation, there was no Wind Sensor in his possession. After multiple more calls to Ben to get the Wind Sensor installed, it became evident that we were being given the run-around i.e. the Wind Sensor had been ordered but hadn't arrived yet; it was with the electrician and would be installed the next day; it hadn't been ordered yet etc etc.. At this point we were extremely frustrated and we escalated the situation to Brad (the owner of the business). Initially, he was friendly, apologetic and appeared to want to help, but on reflection he was more interested in getting the outstanding balance paid before getting the Wind Sensor installed. We agreed to pay the majority of the outstanding monies owing (which we did on the same day), except for the money for the Wind Sensor. The agreement to pay this money was 100% based on Brad's commitment, promise and assurance that the installation of the Wind Sensor would take place in two days time. A week passed with no calls or updates from Brad, or anyone at Designer Blinds. We then called Brad again but, at this point, he started to avoid our phone calls and/or return messages. When eventually getting hold of Brad, his true colours and character come to the surface. He tried to pass us back to his staff as 'he did not know what was happening with the Wind Sensor'. This was after his personal promises and commitment to get the installation done almost a week prior. He became quite rude and defensive when I pushed him to give me commitment regarding the installation of the Wind Sensor. From this point he just started ignoring my calls and did not respond to my voicemails or requests to call me back. It took a few more days (and numerous phone calls to their offices), and more missed commitments from Ben to get the installation of the Wind Sensor completed.
Overall, my dealings with Designer Blinds was an extremely unpleasant one and I will definitely not deal with them again in future. They have absolutely no clue when it comes to customer service. This lack of customer service clearly comes from the top i.e. Brad, as their 'no care attitude' is reflected in his staff. They should honestly not be in business.
I hope all prospective customers read this review and decide to take their hard earned money to a business that deserves it.
Total Rip Off!! – Paid close to $5000, for a single blind (4.5m x 2.7m), that tilted to a side. guy has wiped his hands of the issue says contact [Name Removed] who is never available. The job needs to be fixed but all they say is someone will call or get back but never happens. Job done is pathetic, got another installer to look at the job, they were surprised at the quality of the job. Be very aware [Name Removed] will come and try to win the job with least cost approach. Not fully disclosing there are ways to get the job with a perfect outcome as this will cost more so they will loose the job. Job will be done then you tell them this is not what was expected they will say sorry this is it. Very poor service, job quality rubbish and customer service 0 rating. Going to Today Tonight plus Current Affair to expose this kind of traders who are in the business just for money. Super scammers. Not sure how this business is still operational the ACCC, Fair Trading, Consumer Council Ombudsman, NCAT all need to be made aware of this business. Waiting for a response after this post to see if they come and rectify the issue. If not then this will make it clear they don't care about the customers and should never be given business and should be put out of business. The consumer rights are: Right to information, Right to representation, Right to redress, Right to consumer education have all been breached under the consumer protection laws in NSW. This traders behaviour needs to be checked by the authorities.

Very bad service ! – My blind need repair from August and I’m still waiting , it has been stuck in one position since then ! The new one they installed are getting stuck as well so it’s the service and quality of the blinds . Do not recommend.

Great product - Highly recommend – We got 6 electric blinds installed last year. Happy to say we’ve had no problems! They still look good and no issues in wind, storms, etc. It originally took a few appointments to measure up and make sure we were on the same page. Recommend – Recently switched from traditional blinds to plantation shutters for our sunroom and it’s really made a difference. The space seems much bigger and no longer has that tacky 80s look - very sleek and modern! A much safer option for the kids as well, no more tangled cords and it’s one less worry on my mind. In love! – Getting a retractable awning has been the best decision we’ve made for years. No longer having to avoid using our little pool during the middle of the day has been fantastic. The fabric really works to block out the UV rays (my biggest worry beforehand) and we’ve had no issues with sunburns since we had it installed.
