Dilmah Premium

Loose Leaf Premium? Quite dusty like tea bag tea leaf or is it? Sadly its seems as though the quality has dropped over the years Show details
Tasteless crappy tea – Worst Tea ever!!! I doubt if this thing deserves to be called as tea! Other tea products half the price of Dilmah tastes lot better. Will never recommend!!! Show details
Cynical decline with the sons at helm – This brand *used to* have one tea. Good quality Sri Lankan tea, either in bags or looseleaf. The man who started Dilmah has had to hand control to the sons. Since then, the regular tea has dropped in quality, and you get that fine black dust in it. *Even in the loose leaf tea*. Never used to be like that. We used to get that in the poorest… Read more
supermarket brands (when I lived in England for a bit). Is it tea or floor sweepings?
Now you have to pay a premium to get the same quality as the original. The 'Ceylon Golden Pekoe Leaf Tea' is very like the original tea.. and has no unpleasant dust.
Even with these "Premium" products there is fakery… For example, their so-called Cardamom and Rose tea doesn't have Rosewater or rose petals in it… It has Bergamot! Yuck! How disrespectful is that?!
And, the teabags have microplastics in them... you can tell this because the edges are heat-crimped shut, which cannot be done with pure paper. (There are other brands on the market where the teabags are folded and stapled… That is how no-plastic bags are made.) It was already a very profitable company when the old boy was in charge, so these changes above reflect subsequent capitalistic cynicism… "We can get more out of this, and the dumb consumers won't notice."
Best tea – I've had the pleasure of trying many teas, but this one is undoubtedly the best I've ever had. It's truly exceptional. Show details
Dilmah Spring time Oolong with Ginger – I've started using Dilmah for over 2 years now and it had become my favorite tea brand ever since. I've always purchased the extra stong version and stick to it as I am bit hesitant to try new versions. This is mainly due the tasteless tea varieties in the market. l recently bought the spring time oolong with ginger and fell in love with the aroma… Read more
and flavor it gives from the very first sip. If you are a strong Dilmah Tea fan like me but hesitant to try new things, I am highly recommending this. It is truly a masterpiece.
Dusty, flavourless – If i wanted tea dust that tastes as if it had been collected from the bottoms of silos, I'd have bought tea bags. This stuff floats effortlessly through and out of the wire infuser and into the general beverage to bug me at the end, because I'm a 2-pint quaffer and don't leave decorous quarter-inches undrunk in cup bottoms. It doesn't taste like… Read more
much, either. Testing Nerada next. PS I admit I like tea with oomph over delicacy. Dusty and weak is for me a fatal dyad. Edit- not only does the tea escape from the infuser, but through a tea strainer as well. I've taken video, for which I'll supply a link once I find suitable hosting. Really bad!
Best tea brand I have tried – I have been using Dilmah for more than 10 years now. It has become my favorite tea brand. Love the aroma and flavor it gives. If you are a Tea fan like me, you should give it a try. Show details
Breaking bags :( – Been using these bags for years ,no matter how carefully you undo, they break or tear leaving an i undrinkable mess, sadly will be changing to another better quality brand ,that the bags don’t break :(
Average bland taste, inconvenient tea bags – The tea bags breaks when the glued-on tag is removed. The taste is rather bland compared with other competitors, I guess aligns perfectly for Woolworth's or Cole's bland fresh produces. Show details
Tasteless rubbish – Brought a packet of Dilmah Green Tea with Ginger, followed the instructions and was rewarded with tasteless crap. Where was the lightly piquant ( spicy taste ) warmth of ginger and herbal note. I could the taste our fresh rain water, no chlorine. What a waste of money, another company selling low quality food with no care of their products other than revenue gathering. Show details
Pertect tea – Love the Dilmah brand. Been drinking it for 25 years or more. I buy the extra strong tea bags. The flavour is amazing. I also like the leaflet inside the box, has really good info, and I also really like the packaging, the 3D embossing on the box, with the Royal purple colors. Very smart marketing to use attractive packaging but its the quality of the product that won me. Show details
Torn tea bags – I have been buying Dilma tea bags (extra strength) for a long time. The quality of the tea has dropped and the bags are torn. I buy the tea bags for a reason and if I wanted tea dust in my tea I would buy leaf tea. They are not tea leaves and I think they use tea dust - poor quality. If this is how it's going to continue I will stop buying it and tell my family and friends also not to buy it. I plan to buy it one more time. Show details
great t bags – but everytime i pour hot water in cup the tea bag label ALWAYS falls in..if string was 12 mm.longer no problem [you try it] it is frustrating.. Show details

Dilmah new look tea bags keep tearing – Been buying Dilmah tea bags for years. The new look tea bags break as soon as I remove the tag- no matter how carefully I do so. Going to return to Coles tomorrow. Will be the last time I buy Dilmah, if they don’t fix up the tea bag tags (that are glued at one edge to the tea bag) Show details
Why do I need to strain a teabag – I love Dilmar T and have been using it for many years however lately I have been experiencing the same thing with the teabags tearing no matter how careful I am please fix this problem ,there must be a better way Dilmar need to look after their loyal customers by producing a better bag. Maybe we should all use looseleaf tea and just strain it as I’m straining the teabags anyway. Show details
Tea bags totally unacceptable – Tea bags forever breaking and leaves floating when making. Not good enough!! Complained before still no contact!!you really need to sort out this major problem NOW. Top $$$ is charged??... regards Cath Jones Show details
Fix the bag issues – The bags are terrible and keeps tearing, despite how carefully you remove the tag it keeps tearing in the pot or mug. I’m terribly disappointed that after so many years of been a loyal sri lankan consumer I’m definitely going to change my preferences to another brand. Your so called new bags are useless and horrible Not happy Instead of… Read more

Dilmah teabags improved – Dilmah seem to have fixed the problems with their teabags at long last! I will buy again now and update if the quality goes downhill again. Chris
Losing quality? – We are very heavy tea drinkers and have used only Dilmah loose leaf for many years. I have noticed lately though we get quite a residue of tea dust left in the cup. I initially ignored it thinking it can't be the tea or it was temporary but now I have noticed it is in every cup of tea. I might have to do some taste testing with other brands.
Tea bags are a FLOP!!! – We had been drinking Dilmah Extra Strength for many years, but recently we found that the twin tea bags open up and a residue of a fine tea dust is left in the cup. We have now changed to another brand of tea.
Tealeaves in cup – Bought a box of 300. Usually drink lipton but decided to give Dilmah a go. There were tealeaves falling out of the bags into the cups even before I poured water on it. This has happened consistently with these bags - bought at either Coles or Woolworths (I no longer have the receipt). If this is an indication of the quality of the teabag, I won't be buying them anymore. Disappointing as I have 300 of them now!!!
Quality definitely changed for the worse! – I have been drinking the Dilmah loose leaf tea for years and so I'm very dissapointed in this last batch. No longer do I look forward to that first cuppa tea in the morning to start my day off. It's weak and has no depth of flavour as it has in the past. I'm pretty sure the foil packaging has changed and so has the quality. What's happened Dilmah?! I will have to look at other brands. :(

Gone down – We had been using Dilmah for 5 yrs and have noticed the quality of this brand go down. We no longer buy it.
Weak, dull and lifeless – On opening the sealed bag there was none of the envigorating leafy aroma that fresh premium tea usually has. The flavour was bland and insipid and easily overwhelmed by any milk or sugar as a previous reviewer mentioned. I was so disappointed I've thrown these leaves out. Madura Premium or Australian Daintree tea leaves this stuff for dead if you can find it.
Lovely aroma – I love this tea, it's so rich and smells just amazing. It tastes wonderful, it's a stronger blend than some other teas out there but as an avid tea-lover, I think it's great. I always keep a box in the pantry.
Average and Plain Tea – I find this particular tea fairly average in terms of strength, taste and freshness. As it is slightly more expensive compared to other teas I do not think it is really worth purchasing, as it is such an average product. The strength, even when brewed for a long time doesn't come through and a small amount of milk overpowers any distinct flavour,… Read more
therefore the taste is quite bland. I also didn't find the product to be extremely fresh in smell or taste, something you want in a premium product. I really felt it was just a dull cup of tea and wouldn't use this again as I find it dull compared to other teas. It will suffice if you have no other option.
Slighty overpriced for quality of product, very bland blend of tea.
Good – This is a fine tea to have when you want to indulge in some strong tea with full flavour. It is a strong tea, and thats exactly what I like, so its perfect for me. This tea is so full of flavour, so its very strong and smells so good. It is very dark in colour and I usually only put just a little bit of milk, and its just perfect! This is a great… Read more
full flavoured tea from Dilmah. I can just imagine sitting back with a nice hot cup of this tea and just feeling so relaxed and calm. Its very expensive, so much that I dont buy it regularly.
Excellent – When it comes to leaf tea 'Dilmah Premium' certainly rates with the highest in quality, freshness and flavour. It's a strong blend, so one uses less of it and is priced similarly to other brands, so there is truly no question which to choose. I never start my day without a cup of Dilmah Premium; it has a refreshing sweetness that other plain… Read more
leaf tea doesn't have. Maintain it's freshness by storing it in a sealed tin - it works wonderfully well! Sealed fresh. Sweet flavour requiring no additions. Strong, so use less and therefore lasts longer. Nothing; this tea is lovely.
Good – Dilmah's Premium Leaf Tea is wonderful, full flavoured tea with a lovely aroma. As a leaf tea, I find its flavours are stronger compared to tea bags. It is great to use in a tea infuser and makes it easy to brew a beautiful cup of tea. Although leaf tea is a bit more tricky to use, the lovely flavour you get from them is worth the effort.… Read more
Beautiful tasting tea. Richer flavour than what you would get from tea bags. It is a single origin tea which gives it a fresher and more balanced taste. Not as convenient as tea bags when you are in a hurry.
Good – There's nothing better than a nice hot cup of tea to take you away from all the stresses and pressures of the day. I love the smell of the tea bags when you open up the box. The tea is fantastic to drink without milk or with milk. I generally don't like my tea too strong but even if I get distracted and leave the tea bag in for too long, I still… Read more
find the tea isn't too overpowering. It still has a beautiful, smooth taste. Great quality tea and value for money. I can't think of anything I dislike about this product.
