stage and she really had an eye for design! After the design was accepted things took as slight negative turn but Dallis was able to make sure this kink was ironed out quickly and we were lucky enough to have our kitchen installed before christmas. Regarding the trades... well being tradies, most of them do not know how to clean up after themselves and as we were still living in the house this meant cleaning up after them daily. we had other issues with trades removing electrical equipment from 1 area then charging us for the installation as well as a surprise bill from the electrician.

In short, Direct Kitchens was great! their affiliated trades could do with a review however.

Don't waste your time – The biggest let down was the appalling customer service from DK staff. The install was supposed to take two days but by the end of the second day was nowhere near complete. The contractor DK used for the install had other commitments and was unable to return until a week later. By the end of the third day the kitchen still wasn't complete and a… Read more

number of defects required rectification; one cabinet was installed in reverse, almost all doors had marks and had to be repainted and several panels had not arrived. Two weeks later the DK customer service manager attended our property and was only able to partially rectify the issues. Several weeks later the final panels were installed and 4 weeks after that we are still waiting for the DK painters to attend and touch up a number of scratches and minor defects. Close to 3 months from day one of the install. When timings were raised the DK customer service manager said "you obviously haven't read the contract", to which he was directed to the areas of the contract DK had broken. When told we would be speaking with the HIA and our lawyer they backed down. Despite being well outside the contract time requirements for the install and a number of still un-rectified defects, DK have no problem insisting on payment. We have renovated a number of houses and never have we come across such poor customer service. There are plenty of other kitchen companies in Melbourne. I would suggest you look at any of the others before considering DK.

Love our laundry – We loved our kitchen so much that we got Direct Kitchens back to do our laundry. Our laundry is quite small but Julia (the designer) utilized the space perfectly. And like with our kitchen the whole process was seamless from beginning to end and their communication is fantastic

people. Tradies turn up without notice, then lied stating they spoke to us. So many faults & incorrect measurements. Terrible communication, waiting months for a response. Plumber broke water mains & also flooded the kitchen. Attempted to blame us for it. We found the entire experience onerous & frustrating. None of our issues are covid related so i dont understand why DK whip out covid as an excuse.

Don't ever ever use this company – I contacted Direct Kitchens to reinstall a new kitchen, removal and laying of new tiles, cornices, sky lights and new downlights and a new window at a cost of approx $45,000. that we were tripping over the joins and when I tried to mop the floor the mop would get stuck in between the tiles. All the grouting will have to be redone. Once they laid the new tiles the sliding door to the backyard wouldn't open properly and they wanted to charge an extra $350 to have it fixed. I refused to pay this additional charge so they sent a tradesman in who fixed the wrong doors so I had to pay someone else to fix the sliding doors. The tilers don't know what they are doing. We refused to use the same tilers for the splashback so had to pay an additional $400 to another company. When the tilers came back to fix the grouting (which they didn't do properly so it all fell out again), they decided to throw out all the dirty left over grout in our front garden where it hardened. When I mentioned this to customer service and sent them all the photos they tried to blame us for not telling them where to throw it when they had already worked on our property and knew where the bins were in the backyard. We paid for a double pull out bin but they didn't install the kitchen sink properly so it wouldn't fit. We had a water filter installed and it was installed in the wrong place and had to be removed and replaced.They left the whitegoods and rubbish on our verandah for 5 weeks and the tradesmen left my house in a filthy state each time they left. The tilers had also removed our French doors between the kitchen and dining room. These doors were left leaning against the dining room wall for 5 weeks. It took almost 3 months for this job to be finished and customer service was rude, disrespectful and condescending. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone for anything. They tried to blame us for everything they did wrong. This more than $50,000 project was the worst experience of my life. Stay away.. go somewhere else.

Wouldn't recommend – Project manager who? I felt that I did all the organising with tradies. As already stated, poor contact, never saw any project manager, no one came out to check progress. tiles dipped as they rushed the concrete sheeting underneath which was not level. Only contact you when they want the cash. I would have been better off organising the project myself. Positive: most tradies great except floor tiler and stone bench tops employees who did not speak English. Go elsewhere, wish I did as saved for years for this kitchen and they did not make it feel like a special experience for me at all and I'm not excited over it as i should be paying 45k which is sad.

tradies were scheduled to come at the correct time and all appointments were managed very efficiently. Our kitchen looks absolutely very beautiful and we are very happy we selected Direct Kitchens for renovating one of the most important rooms of the house. Would not hesitate in recommending them.

great kitchen – Direct kitchens were great..what is interesting is that the work was managed so effectively. All the various tradesmen arrived when they said they would and carried out the work very efficiently. Functional kitchen that does the job – The consultant made useful proposals how to plan the kitchen; the result is good, we are happy users. It whole process was time consuming: installation, tow weeks later benchtop, two weeks later splashback.
