Door dash refused a refund of my delivery. After escalating twice and having a real person look at the photo as 'evidence' of delivery taken from a within a car that shows a portion of the wrong address, they still declined. I'd rate zero stars if the platform allowed

contact centre didn't seem to care, all I got is it's been escalated and you've been denied. I asked if they rang the driver which they said they hadn't. They obviously don't have reputable people, working for them with police checks done on them. What a utter disgrace doordash. I don't know how you get away with ripping people off.

the time I got the order, the fresh and perishable items were hot/warm, the frozen items were compromised, and the bread was wet from heat and condensation. This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a food safety and quality issue across a large part of the order.
I reported it to the company and requested that the affected fresh, frozen, refrigerated, and bread items be refunded. They refused to provide a proper refund, despite the order being left in direct sun and the affected goods arriving hot, warm, wet, or compromised.
To make it worse, when I tried to report the issue properly through the app, the claim process kept blocking at the final submission stage and resetting.
This whole experience feels dodgy. I do not trust a company that handles food deliveries this way. Leaving groceries in the sun, ignoring the customer, then refusing a proper refund for heat-affected food is not acceptable. I will not be using this service again.

28/4, Bakers delight order missing 12.50 worth of pizza's. Ordered 2 x 2 = 4 pizzas, received 2 only. Rightfully took photos, provided in app. Both rejected for replacement/refund by their so-called "specialist" team. They're special alright. Over $25 out of pocket - won't be using their services if they don't improve their game. Always thought they were better than UberEats, always replaced/refunded a loss. been taken out by DoorDash anyway. I called the customer service and was told they would process the refund within 24hours. A couple of hours later, I reordered the groceries with another card and the order went through fine. I called my bank, and they told me they could see the $299.85 had gone to DoorDash but their was a refund from Doordash pending back into my account.
48hours later there was no refund in my bank account. I called Doordash and was told to speak to my bank, that the payment had failed and there was to be no refund. The customer service woman was borderline aggressive. I asked for a transaction history to be sent to my email and she said she couldn't do it. When I asked more questions about processes, she shut me down and yelled over the top of me continually "will there be anything else?".
I called my bank, and they said they could no longer see a refund pending into my account, and that Doordash had taken the $299.85 on that initial day. They advised me to speak with Doordash again.
I called Doordash the next day, and the customer service man told me he could see no record of an order at the time I was saying it occurred. He could only see a transaction of the order that went through a couple of hours later that day with the different card. I told him that I have now lost $299.85 because Doordash has taken my money out but left no trace of the transaction. My app account also showed no history of the failed order. At this point, I had been told 3 different things from Doordash customer services and I was getting very concerned.
I wrote an extensive email with screenshots of the error message to the only support email I could find on their website, which was probably to a whole different department in their company. I used the chat bot option on the app for support, which let me to a customer support person who told me the refund should be in my account within 7 business days.
I called my bank back and filed a dispute claim. Because it was going to take up to 8 weeks, I decided to call Doordash and ask for a manager/someone who could explain their processes and why I've received different answers from every person I've spoken too.
The supervisor I spoke to was very unhelpful. She said they have paid a refund and I should have it in my bank, she said I was due to have a refund of $287.95, which is not the right amount that was taken out. She repeatedly told me to talk to my bank. I asked why I was told their has been no transaction, and no trace of a transaction or refund and she couldn't give me a reason. She did apologise, but was very unhelpful. By this point I had completely lost faith in the company. Either their app glitched, my bank swallowed the payment and it's in the ethos of digital currency, or Doordash received the payment with no trace and there's no avenues for their staff to trace it back to know to refund me. However, there was no interest in helping me. How many others has this happened to? Surely I'm not the first person who's had the app glitch on them like that.
I am frustrated with the lack of effective customer service, that the customer service people outright lied to me just to get me off the phone and one person became aggressive just while I was asking questions about their processes in a normal tone.
I will say, when the order went through normally with the other card, I received my groceries within 2 hours, and the dasher was a lovely man who packed everything really well. My issue here is purely with Doordash customer support.
I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, and that they improve their customer support processes.

I've only started using DD regularly recently, because I was fed up with ubereats's customer service, but at least they had SOME available points of contact, even if they were terrible AI ones!! It feels like both services have completely stopped caring about customer service standards since menulog left taking all the competition out of the market.

This whole experience was very confusing and frustrating. It seems like the DoorDash customer service team needs better training, especially in communication and handling customer issues properly.
I had 16 people waiting for food, and this situation caused a 30-minute delay. On top of that, the pricing was misleading. It was supposed to be a “buy one get one free” deal — I initially paid around $200, but after everything, the total went up to $380.
Very disappointing experience. I will not be ordering again. I do not trust DoorDash, and I would not recommend it to others. It feels like a waste of money.

Fortunately, I came across information from Brisbane Aldi announcing home deliveries via DoorDash. In my pain and stress, I did not check reviews of the quality of this company's services. However, I did learn about its American origins by visiting its website. Forced by necessity, despite my current negative associations with “Americanism,” I decided to give this company a chance. I have already completed my first order. I am pleased to report that all 13 products ordered, including two 15 kg plastic 24-bottle staples, were delivered as ordered and carried up the stairs to the first floor in approximately half an hour. The only reservation is the half-melted frozen vegetables, suggesting a lack of “eski”on board the courier. So far – so good!
