Couldnt even deliver to right address
Order for my first and last time, the didnt deliver to the right address. I didnt even end with it and then want to me to pay for another box. Sorry the offered me 20% off the box. What a scam
Unreliable, you will need a back up plan for meals as they cancel your order with no communication.
My box was due for delivery 12-7am. I called Hello Fresh at 9am to see where my box was as the app said my order was now on hold. I was advised that my box was damaged, my order cancelled and that my next delivery would be in one weeks time. I requested a refund as one was not offered, only a credit. Unable to and with no reason given to get my order for the next day which I know is an available delivery day for my area. Nothing. Just a weeks wait for next delivery.
Do not rely on this company delivering your order that you have paid for in advance and depended on. Always have a back up. Im a shift worker and will now be relying on Uber eats for the next couple of days.
Poor service with no care factor.
Neither fresh, nor helpful
I have been a client with this concern since February and I have repeatedly thought of leaving for something else. I will try my best to make this review as objective as possible.
A) First ever delivery, despite instructions, was left on the tarmac outside the gate and found by the electrician across the street a few hours later. The fish inside had by then rotted. I contacted and complained. Customer service was apologetic and promised to refund half the cost. That did not happen.
B) A three months grace period after which small, annoying thin...
Bad start but very good communication/service afterwards
Gave it a try via invitation from a friend. Delivery person didn't follow simple instructions (press 1 + buzzer) so the box sat outside all day -- miraculously, it didn't get stolen.
Gnocchis were great! Does take alot of time but worth it.
Of course, you need to provide basic pantry, but according to HF, eggs are part of pantry items; I find this strange. Oil, butter, salt, sugar, etc. fine, but eggs? I understand they are fragile, but why not simply avoid them?
I tried to contact HF to let them know about the delivery issue, but the Cont...act Us and the Leave Us Feedback pages on the Website are not working. I installed their app to chat with someone: they were polite, but didn't do anything to try to keep me as a client. Fortunately, someone else from HF messaged me and they do seem to care about their clients, so I guess it depends who you get as delivery person/representative. And hopefully they will fix their Website.
Cant live without it
We have been using hello fresh meal for most of 2019 and could not have survived without them. We are a family with 4-6 kids at various times and find it great value. I do wish you could have a bigger serve for those time we have extra people planned but overall it is our staple
3am delivery !!!
First, the delivery guy didn't ring the bell, it was written out in my conditions, because we don't live in the safe area to leavi it out.
Second, it was delivered 3am in the morning!? Our dog woke us up, and because it was in the middle of night, we freaked out and couldn't fall a sleep after that.
Was lucky enough to get a free trial, was sceptical but pleasantly surprised. There were a few minor issues with freshness of the produce but overall the meals were very enjoyable. If pricing was lower I would definitely consider using Hello Fresh again.
Easy, affordable and always a great variety every week
I have recommended HelloFresh to all my busy friends and family. It is so quick to prepare meals when you have hardly any time to think of what to cook and the perfectly portioned ingredients has resulted in our household saving on our weekly shopping budget! For anyone who is a skeptic, give it a go - you wont regret it!
Really enjoying Hello Fresh, and it has encouraged everyone in my family to cook
As the main cook in the household, (and despite my attempts to involve them in cooking something other than pasta in the past,) I was pleasantly surprised to find both my teenage sons and hubby enjoying cooking the Hello Fresh meals.
Being reasonably environmentally conscious, we were unsure about the amount of packaging in the beginning, but after 3 or 4 months of Hello Fresh meals, our regular bin and recycling bins are noticeably less full on garbage days, and the only thing we have changed is switching to 3-4 meals a week with Hello Fres...h. I find I am doing less big shopping trips, and there is a lot less food wastage / things going off in the fridge, so less rubbish overall. Less shopping trips and less meal planning has given me time and headspace back ( and don't we all need a bit of that!), and the whole family getting together to help with meals instead of me doing it on my own has been a wonderful positive in our household. Love it! PS . Both my boys eat like 2 adults, and there is always enough. We haven't had any major issues, and to prevent carrots going soft we have just started to pull them out and put them in the crisper instead of leaving them in the recipe bag.
Been getting HelloFresh for a few years
I find HelloFresh fantastic. Unlike some of the reviews below, I have never had an issue with items being missing or the freshness of the products. I am a very fussy eater and I have never had an issue with any of the meals I have received over the years. I really enjoy the taste and convenience of HelloFresh!
Could not go any lower or i would have chosen no stars!!
We have had off chicken in our meals a few times now. Last night we opened up chicken thighs to cook and they were off, so grabbed the breasts from another meal until we could get to the supermarket and they were off too. The pack was delivered in the early hours of Monday morning - and we were up and put them straight in the fridge, by Wednesday they were off. Would not recommend at all.
Not the Best Value for Money
I have had a few boxes now from Hello Fresh and I must admit it has been hit and miss. I get 3 meals a week for two and at times the produce on the second and third night are already starting to show the signs of turning.
The upside to this is that my daughter has the option to choose as well so she will now get into the kitchen and cook dinner so it's nice now to come home to a cooked meal.
It is convenient but not always value for money.
Feed two people with one potato from the "seared salmon and crushed dill potatoes" recipe!
We received our first hello fresh box today, one recipe of which was "seared salmon with crushed dill potatoes" . The recipe is supposed to be a main meal for two adult people.
In the bag was everything required for the recipe, except that there was only ONE medium sized potato even though the prep pictures clearly showed four potatoes and a picture of the finished recipe showed the surface of the plate covered with smashed potato(es). I called up the feedback number and was apologetically told that it was not a mistake, we were only supposed to receive one potato for the recipe...
I guess we were lucky there were two pieces of salmon!
Bad value for your buck
In our current economy facing the significant rise in supermarket prices, Hello Fresh is greatly disappointing.
Firstly, I do not normally try these things. It was a Friday morning when i was stopped in my local shopping centre by a Hello Fresh sales representative. He demonstrated very good marketing strategy skills - 101!
I was willing to speak to him but i was still pressed for time for my next bus. Before i knew it, i was handing over my credit card details without realising the strategy already made through clever conversation. Import...ant note was made about a free box for my first month (given the impression i was signing up to 1x free sample when then installments are made there after). I felt obliged after i realised a "that was clever marketing", when i just made a purchase of $86 on the spot. My box arrived on the arranged day and time intended. What i did not expect however, was the limited quantity of produce packed. These boxes are packed with 4x recipe's. Each individual bag carries the bare minimum - basic ingredients for 4x recipes (minus the meat). I was disappointed to find 1x carrot that was already soft, among with a couple of other vegetables that proved to be measured in single quantities. I received 1 cup of bread cups along with a pinch of spices, chilli and other mixed herbs.
Reactivation is very deceptive
I think its very deceiving that when someone reactivates an account & receives a notification to say theres been an issue, that meals are ordered anyway without their knowledge. I didnt order any meals, didnt confirm any orders, plus I couldnt change the total of people to 2 from 4 so I didnt proceed.
I received an email to welcome me back, but there was no mention of meals ordered, invoice, nothing. I wasnt aware an order had been placed for me till I received a text the following week to say it was to be delivered the following day.

Missing ingredients, poor service
I have just received my fourth box from Hello Fresh and it is the fourth time I've had missing ingredients from every single meal bag. I have reported this each time to customer service and received refunds when requested, up until today. Apparently the last refund was put against today's delivery in their system for some reason, and they therefore are unable to refund me for missing ingredients today. They're now "investigating" all of my delivery mishaps, and won't be helping me out in the meantime. I've been missing tofu twice when it's the ...main ingredient of the dish! I can't understand how I've been missing ingredients from 16 separate meals over a six week period. Appalling. I also had a very late delivery the first week and the box sat outside for eight hours whilst I was asleep, and have received soft carrots and split zucchini. Once customer service realise that they've been stuffing me around and actually refund my money, I'll be cancelling my deliveries.
I am impressed so far
I had my first hello box delivered over the weekend and after reading poor reviews about the quality of the produce I can safely say that the food that was delivered was of utmost good quality. The veg was more fresh then at the grocerey store, no blemishes or mould and would last a good week in my fridge.
First recipe was absolutely fantastic. Jam packed full of flavour and the produce was so fresh it just enhanced to the flavour. Ordered three dinners and was packed in separate brown bags so easy to store in fridge and easy to get out and per...

My box got delivered at 12:30pm but we were out until 9:30pm will the the meat and veggies still be ok after being left out that long?

We've worked hard to design our specialist packaging to keep your food cool and fresh for 8-10 hours outside of the fridge. Your box remains refridgerated throughout production and delivery - so only leaves the fridge once it's been delivered.
The brown paper bags should be safe to consume - you may want to use your best judgement with any of the cooler items, especially the meat, depending on how melted the ice packs are and how the items look/smell.
