Down Under camping is my favourite camping Shop – As it's a Sunday today I had a quick Google see opening times and couldn't believe product reviews were as low as they are. I've been buying stuff from the shop for about 18 years. They've always had the best service and if I've had any warranty claims they have sorted it out for me. The best thing about them is their price is always competitive.

Great service, Good Comms, Fast Postage – One of the BZR-X Series 9" driving spotlights on my 4WD detached, and was damaged beyond repair due to poor fitting by a supplier. Under Camping on Ebay. They are LEGENDS for making a single light available. Saved me purchasing an entirely new set of spotlights! Ordered Sunday off their Ebay store and it was delivered Tuesday morning. Well packaged, fast delivery. Fitted and tested on my 4WD perfectly. I have no hesitation ordering from them again. Great service, thanks guys!
Good experience – Just wanted to write this review, as after I ordered my recent purchase I looked up the reviews and was then quite worried that there would be a problem. Happy to say that my order was dispatched the same day with tracking number, and arrived on schedule. A seamless process and the price was the best I could find.
Absolutely Useless... dont order any thing from them – Staff recommended to get refund after item was ordered and lost, charged me for 20% cost of the item .. tired multiple times with staff to sort it out .. Owner of company doesn't care about customer service or ownership of staff instructions. Don't waste your time or money. Minus 5 star.. business should close its doors..
Lousy/lazy service – Lousy service , took them four days after I paid for an item they they said was in stock for my order to show as being shipped . They don't answer emails either . 100% won't be doing with them again unless they have something I can't find somewhere else

Great customer service at the Slack Creek branch – I bought an Okuma Azores 5500 fishing spinning reel from the guys at the Slacks Creek branch. They offered good service and suggestions and were a friendly bunch. As the reel wasn't in store/stock, they had it delivered from Capalaba's branch and I came in the next day to pick it up. A smooth and hassle free transaction and I'd recommend them!
0 stars. Do not buy from here – I bought a leatherman sheath for my girlfriends birthday. When it arrived the cardboard box was empty. I called up straight away and was advised that "I doubt that happened" Terrible service. I should have read these reviews before ordering.

the others on this review site have stated. I have put in a dispute directly to paypal. However I can little afford to have my $630 tied up. Down under are making profit on my $ and I am paying interest on my credit card for an Item I will not receive. I had planned a week away in mid march and needed the solar set up by then, Really unhappy with this company. It has left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I had of checked the reviews before laying so much $ with a disreputable company.

I thought this was odd but replied "yes" knowing under the Consumer Goods Act I would still be entitled to a refund if the actual goods turned out to be faulty.
A month later, no reply, no torch, I sent an email requesting a refund. A week later after not hearing back I sent another email again asking for a refund. This time they replied and simply said they had processed the refund when I asked a week prior.
Zero offerings as to why it was never sent, or what happened after I replied that I was happy with a 'faded box' .
It seems pretty obvious, there's a very clear trend here, they list products which they do not have in stock. The particular torch I ordered had been discontinued but a model I was after, they were one of the very limited shops who claimed to have it in stock. I doubt they did, the faded box was a tactic hoping I would ask for a refund but be more understanding in the process.
Highly unprofessional way of doing business all round. I did receive my refund in the end but you don't get a star for rightfully giving someone their money back after you provided zero service and caused inconvenience.

Ordered camp cupboard - status changed to backorder after ordering – I ordered a camp cupboard from these guys at the beginning of August. processing" status, but nothing had changed and I didn't get a response to my email, sent from the contact form on the website.
Yesterday, still having heard nothing and more than a week since I'd placed the order, I checked the status on the website again and was shocked to see that it now had a "backorder" status. I suspect (but cannot prove) that the camp cupboard was never in stock and that they just take people's money and order the items in. Reading reviews below, this seems to be a common occurrence. That's fine, if you disclose at time of sale that the item isn't in stock and it's a special order. Taking someone's money for goods you don't possess, as though you do have them, is illegal.
Anyway, after searching the site again I found an out of hours email address, which I sent a quick email to, asked for my order to be cancelled and a refund given. I'd by then had an email from Snowys, letting me know that the cupboard I wanted was now in stock with them again. (They disclose when they have items out of stock, you see.) So I've ordered the cupboard from them and expect to receive it in a few days. Meanwhile, I've had a refund notification email from downunder and I'll keep an eye out to see when it's received. I still haven't had any email of explanation or apology, but I don't really expect one.
After my experience, I won't be in a hurry to order anything from them again. I only ordered from them because I wanted the canp cupboard and they were the only retailer that seemed to have it in stock at the time. I should have known better and stuck with Snowys and just been patient and waited for it to come into stock with them. I will stick with them in future.
Be weary of back orders – I ordered multiple products, all were stating that they were in stock at the time of ordering. 3 of the 4 products were dispatched, but the forth never came and had a status of 'New Backorder' where it remained for 4 weeks with no update. Refund was given (no hassles), but dont rely on the company chasing up and managing your order if the product is on back order.
Update: While promising to give me a refund, the refund has still not appeared after 1 week. I am reducing my product review to 1 star as this is terrible customer service

weight distribution and thought I was dumb keeping most of my weight down low, then when I tried to call the head office to complain I got the same rude attitude as the other loser hung up on me after trying to make a complaint, well anyways I went to Snowys at Brendale and got better service, cheaper items and no crap so u lot can basically go broke and suk it

Down Under Camping – great communication, item was posted 1 day after ordering , fast postage , great quality well packaged item, top business A+++would recommend to anyone
Poor communication – Ordered and paid for three self inflating mattresses and after two weeks with no correspondence, rang the company. No attempt made by the company to contact me that these were backordered and ultimately not available. Have now received a refund and will be shopping elsewhere.
Fast Shipping – Ordered a snorkel and goggle set from these guys on the 1st of Jan and package arrived safe and sound on the 3rd! Colour correct, packaged up beautifully. Fantastic effort. Many companies on the internet should take note, ordering and postage CAN be quick!
