I didn't want to take any chances after detecting a gas odor near our outside space. Before leaving, Chris double-checked everything and safely repaired the gas fitting. The fact that they are insured and licensed provided me peace of mind.

We are to 80+ disabled pensioner couple. My wife has 80% paralysis on her right hand side & poor comprehension from a stroke she had over 30 years ago. I'm 84 & her carer that needs a walker to get around. (High risk of falls) Our toilet seat is a raised type to make it easier for her to get on & off from her wheel chair, & she uses it regularly… Read more

because of her condition. The Dr Leak "plumber" said it was broken & quoted me $400 to replace. Knowing the cost of disabled equipment is always at least double the normal price, & Desperate to get it fixed, I agreed. He then said they were out of stock, & could replace it with an ordinary one & if that didn't work he would order the high one. That had to do, & he changed it. So relieved & eager to get back to my wife & the toilet, I never asked about the adjustment. When I check my account, he charged me $515 for $40-50 seat. This smarmy creep was a cold blooded crook & I'll contacting to ombudsman on Monday. I just wish I had seen the site first.

Reasonably priced, good communication and professional company – Remember the old days when tradesmen were gentlemen, honest , upfront and principled in their pricing and services? Well in that case you’ll find Dr Leak to be the company you should be putting first on your phone contact list! Having used these guys, I don’t need to search hipages anymore coz they’ll be my first contact! Has an unexplained water… Read more

leak identified in our water bill… called Dr Leak to do the water leak test and pricing was very reasonable and job was professionally done by Ali… the repair bill was painful but we had to fix it, and I’m sure other plumbers would have been similarly priced. Unfortunately even after doing the repairs it was still a big leak so Dr Leak suggested to install new plumbing. VERY expensive but they offered to credit what I’d already paid and then a small discount on that too… job was professionally done, concrete restored which I hadn’t expected, and even cleaned up after themselves!! Nothing is cheap but these guys went above and beyond, service and communication was outstanding and I felt they were being ethical and fair. I have no hesitation in recommending this team.

Incompetent , way overpriced, and very late – I had a leak at the watermeter , the plumber from Dr Leak arrived 2 hours late and advised that he could not diagnose the problem without first digging to which he quoted $1300 . I found this to be incompetent from a professional so I called another plumber who fixed the problem for $250 without the need to dig.

We had pur shower regrputed and sealed by this company 2 years ago. It was not cheap, and the work was horrendous. We engaged in a new company that said the work cannot have been done by someone qualified and they feared it was potentially someone off marketplace or airtasker hired by the company.

Follow-up  · Original issue was a small leak in the shower screen which resulted in the hallway getting wet. I ended up having it replaced again for $3000. It leaked multiple times after dr leak and everything went mouldy

On 4/2/26 plumbers and electricians came to my property to install a Haier heat pump water heater at a cost of over $5500. These tradies came from Dr Leak Plumbing and Electrical (I will refer to them as Dr Leak) in Strathfield NSW. The plumbers… Read more

and electricians (also 2 females arrived with them and these 2 females took photos/videos of these tradies working throughout that day) were told when they arrived to alert us to any damage to any of our property, which they agreed to do. 2 of the staff members remained on our property after the system was installed. I asked one of the tradies if they damaged anything and he said "no". These 2 fellows remained on our property and requested that we show them proof that we had paid the balance of the Dr Leak invoice. Whilst we were trying to pay the invoice we were having trouble with our computer. We didn't realise that because these fellows had turned off the power to our home that it would affect our foxtel. When we realised what the problem was we had to wait until everything had rebooted (I think that is the terminology) before we could log in to our bank to process the payment. My husband told them of why the payment was delayed but they were obviously impatient because they were banging on our door every few minutes hassling us. We are in our 70's and are not totally tech savvy and they knew that we were old and having issues with the technology, but they did not offer to help us at all. We checked the hotwater system after all tradies left and did not notice any issues, however when I went out a few days later to get the model number and serial number off the water heater I happened to look down and noticed a dent in the water heater which had 3 Dr Leak labels put over the top of it, I guess to hide the dent. Not only that, the system was sitting in a pool of water. I rang Dr Leak and advised the client service officer of the issue and he said that he would pass my problem onto the someone higher up the chain. I also contacted Haier and was requested to send photos of the dent and the water leak. I was told by the client service officer that the system was not installed correctly. This same person I spoke to at Haier organised for one of their technicians to come and look at the hot water system. When the Haier technician came to our property, he confirmed this. The Haier technician also realised that when the tradies had drilled into the brick wall above the hot water system that they did not patch it up so mice and other nasties could gain access to the wall cavity. This technician contacted Dr Leak and sent through photos that he took of the damaged hot water system and, as a consequence to this, Dr Leak agreed to replace the damaged hot water system and install it correctly. The replacement hot water system was installed on 10/3/26. Whilst the 2 tradies were here I was sent a form to fill out, it was an energy conservation nomination form #35182. I did not sign it because I had signed the same form on 4/2/26 and at the bottom of the form it says "Have you or at the best of your knowledge, has any other person previously nominated an energy saver for this activity or activities at this site?". One of the tradies that were there on 10/3/26 told me that I was supposed to sign it before they began installing the new hot water system. I explained that I had already signed the same document on 4/2/26 but he said the office had told him I had to sign it again because it was another system. There was no message/phone call from the "office" to say that I had to sign the form again or directions on once I had signed the form what happened after I clicked "save". It says to click save to ensure my signature is captured - what the hell did this mean? No explanation. To cut a long story short, I was about to ask one of the tradies how to send the form to whoever asked for it, and on my way outside to ask him this question he had his phone on speaker and I heard a woman he was talking to say "she is slow". After this conversation he had with this woman, the tradie (I believe his name was [Name Removed]) came to my door asking me if I had problems sending the forms and offered to help. Anyway both forms went through ok. So from my experience dealing with Dr Leak, I would not use them again EVER. Most of their staff are rude, disrespectful, arrogant and have no consideration for elderly people. Also, we did not get a receipt from the company to say that we had paid the full amount that was owed to them.

Follow-up  · Yes they replaced the damaged heat pump hot water system, but only after I had contacted haier (the company in Australia that supplied the heat pump hot water system). A technician from haier came to my house to see for himself the damage and installation issues then he reported back to Dr leak plumbing and electrical in strathfield. If it hadn't… Read more

Arrived on time, provided a quote and repaired 2 x leaky pipes that we had identified. Did a good job. Very expensive. $1018 for approximately 2 hours work. Cannot say what the parts cost as they do not separate labour from parts in the quote. A guestimate would be no more than $100 for parts. Could have skipped the sit down preamble discussing what needed to be done. A bit OTT. It was a relatively straight forward job for the price Show details

Make sure you shop around. Charged my elderly parent an excessive amount for a minor repair, got independent quotes which came in significantly cheaper. Contacted them twice to try and sort the situation out and nothing!

I used them today, not good, not recommended. They charge 39$ call-out fees, basically doing nothing , but saying they need a full check which is 1000$. I mean they should tell me a bit earlier about this, it will save their and my time and not coming for this quote.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS LOT!! required a new hotwater system, they provided me quotes ranging from $3700 up to $4800 to supply and install, DONT let them pull the wool over your eyes and do your own research for pricing - I ended up getting a new unit supplied and installed for $1700 - looking at the previous reviews on this website there is a pattern of behaviour evident with Dr Leak - avoid at all cost!!!!

Can’t help but feel like they were trying to take advantage of me because I am female. I had no hot water and so booked a plumber to come out. I have a continuous gas hot water system. First of all when I booked the appointment I was told that there would be a call out fee of $39 - the call out fee on the day was $77. I also booked for between… Read more

12pm-4pm and they came over at 8am (which in the scheme of things isn’t the worst but it was just lucky I was home). They checked out my unit and told me it had to be replaced and that unfortunately due to it being recessed in the wall outside I was exceptionally limited to the replacements I could have. I got quoted $4,150.00 (inc GST)(20Ltr) for the replacement and installation. I let them know that that was well outside what I thought it would be and told them I’d have to think about it - that I would have thought it would be $3k tops. They dropped the price by $200 on the spot but I still said I’d have to think about it. After I left I looked up the model they suggested and found it at Bunnings for $970. You’re telling me it was $2.8k in labour costs? They ended up calling me back later that day saying that Reece’s was having a sale and that they could do it for $3k. A figure I thought was interesting considering the cap I had mentioned to them earlier. My dad ended up finding another company for me and it was $1555 for the unit (26ltr) and installation. I obtained numerous quotes and although the mob I went with was the cheapest - no other quote even came close to what Dr Leaks quoted me. The other mob came, installed and took my old unit in less than an hour. They were super impressive.

I was charged $700 for a leaky garden tap and they didn't even replace it. As soon as they left, the tap started running full ball, so they had to come back. I got a different guy from the same company and he was a bit shocked I had been charged $700 for the initial visit and threw in the tap for “free”

Worst Encounter ever – terrible service, coming to the house when I said please wait outside for 5 mins. Come here for an inspection and told me it will take 500$ to examine (not even fixing anything) and say the whole task will take 10 k to complete without even pointing out what is exactly the problem. a complete rip off, never come to this service again and the website say there is no call out fee but they charge you when they arrive. What a scam

Disgraceful 'business' – Do not go near Dr Leak! They operate by inducing an urgent need to pay a huge deposit that you later find out is non-refundable if you need to not proceed (rang within an hour) with the exorbitant expensive fix. Failing to coerce me to continue the repair with a discount they offered I was further verbally abused and accused by the manager (my… Read more

sons could hear him on the phone). I could not/would not safely have these people on my property. A written promise to refund half of the deposit as goodwill, was as expected of them and the way they operate, they outright reneged, and lied- but asked me to ‘check in a few days’! [Content Removed] at work. Not an ethical way to run a business and provide great service, they’d rather make money by force, abuse, coercion and pocketing other people’s money they did not work for. I met some genuine and honest plumbers afterwards; but Dr Leak should be ashamed and rethink their business model to be genuinely of service. I remain extremely disgusted by what they did to me.

Overpriced. Dishonest quote – The Mother in-law needed a bathroom & kitchen tap checked. She said she needed it looked at soon so I helped her out. Against my better judgement I went & sought a local plumber over my regular plumber. Dr Leak promised a free quote. They came and inspected the suspect bathroom & I asked them to check the M in-laws bathroom. The plumbers said all… Read more

fixtures needed replacing. They inspected the kitchen tap (goose-neck) and said the rubber cartridge was about 300-350$ to replace. 900$ for x4 taps, + 300$ or more for the kitchen tap. I rang the M' in-law & she said book it in. I was'nt sure but put a 10% deposit down. Later I kept thinking about the quote & thought it was a raw deal. I rang my plumber to have a look - The kitchen cartridge was nowhere near 300$ - He could replace it for 40$. He said the ceramic ring fittings were not leaking in the M in-laws shower. A bit worn, not leaking. He replaced the x2 leaking fittings in the main bathroom and we bought a new kitchen gooseneck, he replaced the old one & it was easily <50% of what Dr Leak quoted for us. My 10% deposit was down the drain.. Moral of the story is SHOP until you get a professional who won't over quote you!
