We bought the Dreame L50 Ultra robot vacuum during Black Friday sale for $1,499.00 AUD and have used it less than 2 months. stuck down. Even on the max suction setting. I honestly think it potentially makes our floors dirtier by spreading any messes around, and ingraining dirt deeper into textured tiles instead of lifting it.
The mopping is also really inconsistent (see photos). It’s only washing half the floor and missing sections in between passes. Even on the ‘Deep Clean’ setting, hottest water temperature, and with the Dreame detergent added, the floor is still not clean afterwards. It also leaves circular mopping marks after it dries if you have glossy tiles or polished hardwood.
The main reason we chose this model is also because it was advertised as being able to handle a single step up or down up to 4.2 cm (1.65 inches), and two-step thresholds up to 6 cm (2.36 inches). We have a small step down (~5-6cm) into our kitchen area and didn’t want to have to move it manually in and out every time (which interrupts it and seems to trigger a return to the dock to empty and/or wash mop pads, which means we have to pick it up, wait for it to empty and wash mop pads (~5 minutes) and then lift it down again - which becomes really annoying and surely defeats the purpose of having a robot vacuum cleaner? You could vacuum and mop the floor manually during this waiting time).
However, it won’t even attempt the step. We tried creating an extra ledge at about halfway height with a piece of timber to create a two-step threshold, and marked it as a ‘safe’ height in the app, but no luck. Even after deleting the first map, and having it completely re-map the entire house as suggested by Dreame, and again adding it as a safe threshold. Nope.
Other features in the app also don’t work, like ‘Pet Moments’ - another feature that we were excited about when purchasing to see cute photos of our pets or be able to check in on them via the camera remotely. However, the Pet Moments feature doesn't work at all (it's just a blank grey screen in the app and says 'No File') and the remote viewing feature is SO slow and laggy it is unusable.
We’ve also noticed the robot has odd behaviours like it will drive to the opposite end of the room when it finishes cleaning just to announce that it’s finished, and then drive all the way back to the dock.
We’re so disappointed that we've actually stopped using the Dreame L50 and have gone back to our 4-year-old $199 Eufy ‘dumb’ robot vacuum which doesn’t have any fancy features or an app, but does a much quicker, more thorough job and actually picks everything up.
We would really like to send the Dreame back and get a refund, but so far we’ve been going back-and-forth over emails for the last month trying various troubleshooting steps with no resolution.
Overall I really wouldn’t recommend this brand or model. The mopping technology just isn’t there yet and you’re paying top dollar for all these extra fancy app features which don’t even work.

Amazing this is my 3rd vacuum/mop brand as I have slate floors and the others (even another top brand one) just didn’t do the job. I can see the difference in just how clean my floors are now. The only problem we had was it wouldn’t dock unless perfectly flat which on my floors was challenging but soon found a spot and works perfectly. Show reply
Follow-up · Still extremely happy with the performance of the vacuum/mop certainly can feel the cleanliness of the slate not sure how well it mops grout but vacuums everything up. Dries within minutes and I have it on the deep clean.

We love our new Dreame L50 Ultra Robot vacuum cleaner. It automatically vacuums and mops our floors every day. We have only had to do very minimal cleaning since purchasing the L50 Ultra, and this cleaning is mainly only for hard to reach places, or places where the robot vacuum cleaner can not reach. Purchased mostly as it can "climb" thresholds. We have 40mm steps into our bathroom and laundry. We set the machine going and it will get caught on the thresholds the majority of the time. 42mm without a step. We still often come home to a vacuum that's stuck and hasn't completed the task.
The vacuuming and mopping are pretty solid. Mapping is a bit strange sometimes.
Another issue is it seems to have scanned a foot rug at the entry doors and even when they have been removed it won't mop those areas. It would be nice if it actually scanned for carpet each time but apparently it's using the original mapping data

Vacuum doesn't have Matter support as advertised. I've had one response from Dreame about this since contacting them 3 weeks ago - after sales care is lacking. 3 weeks into ownership, vacuum stopped mopping. Initially I was very happy with the quietness of the vacuum and how effectively it vacuumed and mopped. The app/vacuum is a little bit tricky to set up - I needed to refer to Google.

on all attempts of cleaning, the following notifications are triggered: “mop pad removed” and “mop pad removed please reinstall before cleaning”. These notifications come after the clean button is selected for both vacuum only and vacuum and mop. Fantastic to set and forget to get the floors swept and cleaned. Easy to set up and maintain so far. We have the same concrete floor throughout - it won’t revisit a spot that needs a once over again so little kitchen spills etc are not going to come off with the mop cycle. Show details · 1

negligible mopping capability. And hair tangling - terrible, had to be cleared after every use. And got stuck over small obstacles like the fireplace hearth. But the L50? Brilliant in so many ways. It reaches everywhere. Amazingly tangle-free of hair. (We have a border collie. Say no more!) It climbs onto the fireplace hearth. The mopping is very good and we have programmed it to only mop the kitchen and dining room. Saves time for the rest of house vacuuming. Only weakness is relatively low battery capacity. It has to recharge on each clean so takes 4 hours to do our home. But no rush, so OK with that, but dropped one star. Just buy it is my recommendation. BTW, we got Harvey Norman gift card of 10%, bringing price down to $1213. But have to redeem the card only at HN within 30 days, being so-so discount value.

I brought it for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. She is a single mum with two teenage boy. It makes her life that little bit more easier. She can set it off while she is at work and doesn’t have to worry about coming home to vacuum and mop. Show reply
Very happy with this robot. I purchased it on a recommendation from another Dreame owner and selected this model based on its ability to go up small steps. We have an older house that has been extended so essentially have a back step that requires the robot to go down a 40mm steps. It’s done exactly what the description said and the step causes it no issues. House has never been cleaner!! I would highly recommend this robot. Show reply

The robot cleaner is good, but could be improved. It gets stuck in some places and gets lost in the house sometimes. I have to supervise what it is doing and don't trust leaving it to work while I'm not home as it requires reposition quite often. The self cleaning and step climbing is very good though. Show reply
Gave it to my daughter for Xmas and she loves it. She says her house is now always clean and she has several pets that shed lots of fur. Definitely works on high carpet and pet fur so highly recommend. Show reply
Had to use You Tube to set up. Tackles dog hair well, Have highly polished tiles with an inside border collie. Mopping is average at cleaning dog drool but otherwise ok. Probably need a machine that heats the water to a high temperature Show reply

The robot could do the basic cleaning tasks including vacuuming and mopping for the house and it does reduce the pressure on household cleaning tasks. feedbacks - 1. There is a lack of detailed instructions on how to use the robot, apart from some simple steps on initial set up. You have to guess quite a lot when using the Dreame Apps to get the robot going along the ways that best suit one’s need. I think Dreame should provide more instructions, information and even videos to show how to make best use of the robot, as they know the products the best. Nowadays people tend to rely on different “KOL” on U-tube to get these information but sadly they do so mostly on their own financial interest and I do think most of them are just wasting your time. 2. There are times the robot would get confused on where the boundary of a room is, and would skip vacuuming or mopping along the boundaries. Though at other times it is ok. Looks a bit inconsistent to me so far and not sure if it would improve with time.

Easy to access water and bags. Our house is predominantly vinyl and it does quite a good job but I have a mat and pets inside and I don't think it does a very good job of that, so I am glad I don't have carpet. Show reply
The L50 is amazing. Excellent cleaning, efficient mapping, strong suction, hot water and the video camera monitoring make it the best value for money. Impressive results.

The Dreame does a fantastic job of mapping, vacuuming and mopping my dark wood floors. It is saving me heaps of time and my cleaning routine is more effective and better organised due to the self-cleaning and custom cycles
