AT20s came with 2019 triton and have done 106,000k with no issues. 2 needed replacing but I replaced all 4 with AT31s because the price was good. New tyres were off a brand new hilux that owner specified to dealer they wanted tyres more suitable for mostly off road use so we're close to half price for me. Show details

Unfortunately the worst tire I’ve had on a car in the wet/damp road. They are so slick it’s dangerous. Can’t get out of an intersection before the lights change especially if there’s an incline. I was complaining to ford that their electronics are crap but it’s just been these tires from the very fist drive in wet conditions in a brand new car. … Read more

Like slick tires on a wet circuit. Lucky I know how to drive. Most embarrassing when a nanna smokes you at the lights in their lil breadbox on wheels and these go nowhere. ‍wife refuses to drive the car til I change them. Not sure if it’s a bad batch but seems others share my plight. I’m a Dunlop fan of slick tires on my bikes but this is super disappointing

Will never buy these tyres – These dunlop tyres came factory on our new triton, we have just hit 15,000km mostly highway driving, dry weather no rough conditions, and have blown 2 tyres in 3 weeks. Will now be replacing all 5 tyres with a more reliable brand. Show details

Dunlop AT5 Exceeds expectations in all aspects and safety – Another great tyre from Dunlop on my Mitsubishi Challenger. I travelled around Australia 3 times and did over100,000 km plus and still roadworthy but My AT3 tyres were due to be replaced. AT3 but then the problems began as my Tyres were AT3 265/70 R15 112 and no longer around but after much research and seeing my local Goodyear Store found the… Read more

AT5 which had the same specifications as my AT3. Jumped on the AT5 and the tread was the only difference. Grandtrek AT5 offers a 50% improvement in mileage, 25% more effective braking performance, and a quieter ride (an eight percent noise reduction against its AT3 predecessor. Ok they cost a lot more than other brands but Dunlop do a lot of research on their product and are ahead other brands that I reviewed. I suggest you do reviews before buying any tyre. The cheapies had in some cases shocking reviews. Premium brands invest time and effort into creating the latest tyres. They hire the best chemists, technicians, engineers, and designers to produce tyres that are then tested to destruction by drivers in every type of condition. I highly recommend these tyres even though they are not the cheapest. You get what you pay for. If looking at tyres as I said read the reviews before purchase. This is one site I used but also reviewed them on other sites. https://www.tyrereview.com.au/dunlop-grandtrek-at5-reviews

Great for what they are – Have been running these since 2018, and have clocked upwards of 65,000ks. This includes on road, towing caravan, off road trails around N.S.W. (a couple of which were done on highway pressures to see how they went), muddy/slippery country Victorian back roads and a couple of paved driveways to wineries in South Aust. (that’s an off road story for… Read more

another day). With all this we had no issues. Like everything about driving be it on or off road, drive to the conditions and regulate tyre pressure to suit. Damp roads can cause minimal slip (like most tyres in the wet) but nothing that could not be controlled by the right boot / traction control and a little clenching of the “oh crap” handle on the A pillar. Understand your vehicles limits. Tread wear is still reasonable though I am looking at replacing in the next few months, more for peace of mind not because they are too worn. Have done regular checks of the tyres, no major/reportable damage found, mainly fair wear and tear. I won’t give a 5 out of 5 for any of the below categories as I don’t believe anything is 100% perfect, but these tyres great for what they are intended for.

Good Choice for Full Time 4x4 Vehicles Doing Mainly Highway – First off, you need to understand that there are two versions of the AT22. For the size I use (275/65R17), one has an "H" speed rating and is made in Thailand, while the other has a "T" speed rating and is made in Japan. As an LC100 owner, I went with the Japanese option which is the factory fitment tyre for this vehicle. My vehicle is 99%… Read more

bitumen based and for this purpose, the AT22 handles superbly in wet or dry. They are very quiet and predictable, even at higher highway speeds. Towing and light offroading on sand is also no problem for these tyres. I just replaced a set which lasted 90,000km with another set of the same.

However, if you drive a Ranger/BT50/DMAX/Hilux or any other Thai built part time 4x4 vehicle, you are likely getting the Thai manufactured tyre which may not be identical to the one I am reviewing. Considering how these utes are set up - little weight on the rear and short 1st gear, I can imagine it is easy to get wheelspin with any kind of touring tyre in the wet. I would suggest trying BFG KO2 (for offroaders) or Michelin Primacy SUV (for highway users) if you need a bit more grip while in RWD only mode.

Dunlop, the name behind value & safety – Many tell me that these tyres, being cheaper than many other big brands, are not so great. But they have not driven on them for years and years as I have. To be blunt - they are awesome value and feel great on the road. I'm happy. Show details

No trust in the product – I have just received my LC300 with Dunlop At 30 s fitted and got a puncture after barely completing my first trip on road with them. As i was waiting on the repair another tyre has gone down with a puncture . I have no way of picking up my first repair with three wheels left intact. I have had a Hilux for 22 years and have never had a tyre puncture on wheels that were new.

2nd set of AT20's - No issues at all – Have these tyres fitted on a 2020 Toyota Prado, 2nd set. Have not had any issues with them at all. They're quiet on the bitumen, good in wet and dry conditions. Car spends 95% of the time on sealed roads, but it does go on soft sand beaches occasionally and drop the pressure to 20-25PSI, I haven't had any problems. I have read a number of negative… Read more

reviews with people calling them rubbish & slippery in the wet. Most of those seem to be fitted to dual cab utes and with little to no weight in the back, rear wheel drive and a heavy foot, I can see how ANY tyre would lose traction. Perhaps they are better suited to constant 4WD vehicles?

Pathetic tyre life – I put on 4 brand new Dunlop Grandtrek AT3G for our 3 month caravan trip around Australia. They are a comfortable ride and not noisy and handle both bitumen and dirt well. However after 10,800kms they are almost worn to the canvas and are totally unroadworthy. My previous Wrangler tyres lasted 45,000kms with tread left. These tyres are pathetic. Show details

Great all rounder! – These tyres are great on road, low noise at highway speeds, excellent grip in the wet. Light and responsive steering. Have some off road capability when needed and can tow a van on both surfaces without trouble (as long as you don't expect them to do the impossible..they aren't aggressive grip full off road tyres after all). I would highly recommend if you do majority of driving on road with occasional off-road say 80/20.

great allrounder tyres – A perfect tyre for my Landcruiser 100 .. Excellent milage and quiet tyres . Have done Simpson Desert and Birdsville Track ..... Tyre handling usually relates to pressure and over inflation should not be ignored ! had four sets and averaged 70 to 80 thousand per set ! very happy with Dunlop ! Show details

Tyres have past my expectations – The Dunlop Grandtrek AT20 came on my 2012 Prado, the first set did 95,000kms and now I'm just looking at replacing my second set not because they have run out of tread but more to replace before Winter. This second set has done 94,000kms. I have been very happy with their performance. Show details

3 sets now with average of 60,000 per set. No problems experienced. Very happy with AT20 – Have travelled Birdsville track, Oodnadatta Trk, Flinders ranges, Hammersley ranges, Kimberley and Pilbara regions towing a van with 120 Prado. Tyres have coped with all changing conditions without any punctures or failures and returned good tread wear. No problems or concerns in wet and dry, bitumen or off road.Don't understand why other drivers don't like these tyres. Maybe they over inflate them. Show details

a great choice – 1.the tyres have performed very well to the different weather conditions, maintaining good grip on wet and dry hot roads. traction on dirt roads was excellent. 2, the performance of the vehicle was to vehicle manufacture's spec. 3. the tyres are durable and i envisage good wear life on the tread

OEM fitted tyres – I have over the past seven years purchased two Ford Rangers fitted with these tyres and have only had 30,000 to 35,000km out of each set with mostly highway driving. I was happy enough with the safety aspect of the tyres in wet and dry conditions but not entirely satisfied with the longevity of them. Overall I would rate these tyres as average. Show details

Horrendous in the wet – I got these tyres on my PX3 Ranger. The good points: -They are very quiet on the road. -Comfort is fine at 30psi. -They are hard wearing - done 60,000km and they still have a few mm of tread left. -I get good economy with them. -I've never had a flat. The bad: -Pretty hopeless offroad (to be expected I guess, they are a highway bias) The worst:… Read more

-They are widowmakers in the wet. It's always been subpar but it has progressively got worse to the point where you have to very carefully feather the throttle with any acceleration in the wet; and if you have to take a corner while accelerating you just hold on and hope for the best. It's a shame because they would be pretty decent tyres otherwise. I have a set of Nitto Trailgrapplers for offroad trips and they are far better in the wet (they shouldn't be, they're mudders.)

Ok but be cautious in wet – Had it since new on a Ranger, was slipping allot when went mostly when accelerating and turning from start, thought I may need to run them in. Or worse thought the Ranger may be crap, but with all the other feed back I agree it is the tyres. At 25000km it seems the tyres have not improved. I have changed my driving style in the wet. But I do not… Read more

trust these tires when it rains as you can feel some loss of grip periodically when driving straight on one off the tyres, It is infrequent but I suspect it won’t get better with age. I had this mostly during the drought but now with the rain it has become and annoyance.

I would recommend that you look at a different tyre for peace of mind.

Happy with these tyres – We have had two full sets of these Grandtrek AT22 tyres on our Mazda BT50, often carrying a weighty slide on camper. Surprisingly good – These were on the Pajero when i bought it new in 2017 and .... they have been brilliant, quiet, handle well and great in the wet, good braking no punctures. Grandtrek AT20 tyre – Ive got a 2015 shogun,i had the original tyres (AT20) until half way through 2020 then i noticed small cracks on the walls. It was then i decided it was time for new tyres. To be fair they have done about 50000 miles from new and still not worn out. They have been great tyres.... grip,no Puncture Repair and pretty quiet. They have done exactly what I expected out of a tyre. Cheers Dunlop  Show details

Early Days with the AT20 – These came as standard OEM tyres on my new Triton GSR. I live in the country and the 6km of the road I travel before a smoother road is akin to driving on the Canning stock route or other outback roads- blacktop with jarring and corrugations and bends like a race track. I do a 130km round trip to work on a freeway and suburbs to the city in pouring rain, wind, heat and have not had a problem with the tyres.
