Super slow postage, too much packaging, expensive, no communication.
I ordered 2 books online through Dymocks. I didn't realise but the price of the books was double what I could have paid on another site, so it pays to shop around. I also had no idea when the order would arrive. It took 2 weeks before the order was dispatched, so for 2 weeks, I heard nothing. Finally, after 2 1/2 weeks, I got a notice from Australia Post telling me that the order was on the way. The order arrived, 3 weeks after I ordered them, in a lot of unnecessary cardboard. Dymocks need to speed up their deliveries, have competitive pricing and communicate with the customer about delivery times.

Book burning by dymocks
dymocks is now playing the same game as "big tech" and the media by censoring books by authors whose views they disagree with - it is shocking to realize they are trying to influence public opinion and stop people purchasing any books written by authors who speak their truth or who hold alternate views. This is "book burning" in the modern day age. I now question how many other important books are no longer on dymocks' shelves because of this bias. It's a sad directive from the company to force this on much loved local stores and store owners too, whose businesses will suffer because of the narrow corporate attitude.

Absolutely beautiful and very functional!
Absolutely beautiful and very functional. The yellow coverband is easy to remove. I would strongly recommend this Internet password book.

Inaccurate stock availabilities
Inaccurate stock availabilities showing on items. Did not even tell after 1 week that the book is not available. Would NOT definitely use these again. Really bad experience

Great experience
Rash, from castle towers, helped me buy a book for my niece last week. I briefly explained her interests and he helped me buy a book which he thought she would like. My niece was so happy with his choice and it was even written by her favourite author!
Quick response and action from customer service
Made an order on boxing day, sent in multiple batches, I recieved first two parcels pretty quickly- on the third parcel however, someone made a mistake and sent the wrong book. Customer service responded within hours and immediately dispatched a replacement, which arrived shortly after.

Do not order online - you will be disappointed
I placed an order 27 Dec 2020. I followed Dymocks up a week later as there had been no movement. They advise the book was "not in stock" (although the website said it was in stock - that's why I placed my order). They advised it was coming from overseas and it should arrive at their warehouse 05/01/2021. I again contacted Dymocks around 6 Jan 2021 to be advised I should wait as the international order had not arrived. I waited 10 days, contacted Dymocks again and was told I should wait another week - justifying their delay with "excuses".

Customer service mega-fail
1. I ordered a book on 21 October 2020 and assumed it would be delivered in a timely manner (the book was a gift).
2. 6 weeks later I was thanked for my patience and understanding as Dymocks had trouble sourcing stock
3. Dymocks sent a book on 24 December 2020 which arrived in the new year. This was not the hard cover item I ordered (even though they had hard cover in stock).
4. Dymocks then requested i send back the soft cover book for a credit (which i did)
5. Dymocks would not send the hard cover and said i had to re-order it online. The rea...

Very helpful!
I ordered some textbooks from the online store. Although all delivered, a couple of them went missing. It was perhaps stolen by the postman. When I contacted Dymocks, they offered to re-send the books that I didn't receive. Extremely grateful!!

Far too long to wait
There are many other online sites that would be far quicker than Dymocks. I would not recommend Dymocks unless you are prepared for a long wait.

Disgrace
Have been waiting for my order for over a month now decided to contact them regarding it. Was told the order number was unrecognisable . So I forwarded them my order page & am now waiting on what excuse I will get next. I have asked them for a refund see what happens there but whatever happens I won't be going near this store EVER again.
NOT HAPPY!!!
Wish I'd read all the reviews first
I ordered a book to be delivered to an address in Sydney. I am based in the UK. They sent the book to the UK but as soon as I was notified about this, I contacted them to explain their mistake (it was their mistake, the order was correct)
After a week of trying to contact them with no response, I was finally told it was too late to do anything and that I would also have to pay an import charge for the book coming into the UK!!!
Do not use
Cancelled my order, was sent regardless...
I cancelled an order I made within 24hrs of making it; I'd heard some bad things about the online store and didn't want to chance it, so I cancelled. A simple process. Wrong. Ten days later, I get an email telling me they've sent 1 of the 5 books I bought, by which time I'd sent a second email about the cancellation as I'd never got a response to the first.
I ended up sending 50 messages in all before I finally got a response cancelling my order, by which time they had sent another one of the items, so that's 2 of 5 now. *sighs deeply*. They r...
Read moreefunded me for the 3 items that hadn't been sent but I still believe I should be refunded for the 2 that were. Let's not forget that I cancelled within under 24hrs of making the order but they sent it regardless 10+ days later. In all, I won't be buying from them again, I don't recommend anyone buy from their online store either. If you do, do so at your own risks. You'll get your order to be sure, but the waiting time is long, and if you're like me and want to cancel, you're screwed. Furthermore, customer service and response time are appalling.Worst online book store
Do not buy any books from dymocks. We ordered our 2 weeks ago but the status says it hasn’t even dispatched yet. Hate this website

Withdrawing Pete Evans books
I will not be buying off Dymocks bookstore both online and in store because they took Pete Evens off the book shelves for posting a tweet yet they have an ex president who wanted war. You promote books coming from Australia yet it 4-6 weeks
Dymocks Joins SJW by Cancelling Chef Pete Evans
Dymocks removing chef Pete Evans books because of a tweet. Your cancel culture has cost you not only my business, but all my family who are book lovers, and anyone else I ever speak to. Your cancel culture policy will bite you back

Shop elsewhere
I should have read reviews before ordering. The online store gives the impression that books are in-stock and will be shipped from within Australia. Only after ordering so they send an email to say it will take 4-6weeks. It has now been two months with no sign of the books.

Terrible service, expensive and arrogant.
So you want to support your local bookstore, you don't want the hassle of ordering online and receiving a damaged book due to insufficient packing[yes that's you Amazon] and you just want good service at a competitive price. Just don't expect that from Dymocks Rundle Mall. Check out the arrogance of the Special Orders staff, the overpriced stock on their empty shelves and last but not least having faulty merchandise on their shelves [we're talking $135 coffee table book with creased pages and misprint on the spine] and yes we know they're fault...
Read morey but we still have them for sale on the shelf in case we sell it to an unsuspecting buyer !!! Stop complaining about online sellers taking over your core business and proving good old fashioned service, competitive prices and how about actually having stock on your shelves instead of the same old limited range from 12 - 24 months ago. Remember when you were Standard Books and actually had a great range and staff that actually enjoyed serving their customers ? WOW how times have changed. Booktopia, Book Depository and even Amazon [US] not AU can deliver and supply any book you want but hey it's just a reminder that Dymocks Rundle Mall have simply stopped caring and are simply counting the end of days.Mazda 2

Misrepresentation- Dymocks stores have no connection to online store.
Be aware - The online store is not affiliated with the actual Dymocks stores.
If you want to exchange a faulty item and that item is in an actual store , you cannot exchange it as the online store is separate from the actual store. You have to post the item back and wait for the replacement to be posted out if there is even one available.
I got a faulty item and even though the item was in a store I was not able to just exchange it. Staff in store were apologetic but said they are not part of the online store so could not exchange it. They a...

How do you get back to the last page you were reading on the ereader app?

When you click on READ it should take you to the page you were reading last. If this doesn't happen for you complain to Dymocks. After my initial complaint, twelve emails from Dymocks and more than twelve replies from me; two days of instructions to cut and paste, download, install and un-install, the book suddenly appeared in the Dymocks e-reader.
Just had another look at the e-reader. If your's does not automatically save the page, there is a tab in the top right hand corner below the magnifying glass symbol which creates a bookmark. You will find the list of bookmarks in the settings menu.
