1 Ian  · My experience has, like many others, been terrible. I am beginning to think the whole thing is a scam.
2 John toohey  · So far most books have arrived but when they haven't the process for finding out where they might be is totally unsatisfactory.
1 David C.  · Worst service ever! Never received a book ordered two months ago, impossible to chase it up with the most stupid AI chat boxl. Never use this service.
1 Mick  · Frauds, deceptive false advertising. Despite admitting they sent me the wrong product and refused to pay for the postage to ship it back.
1 Tsuki S.  · wow, they refused to amend a incorrect address even BEFORE an item is shipped. what the crap?
1 Pete  · Waited til 9 July, ordered on 12 June no less.

who writes these positive reviews? I've just spent 40 minutes going round in circles trying to get tracking for my order WOB1568553828131 and ... nothing! Can't find it. Go here - it's a dead link. Go there and i do and i'm back to the start again. I won't do this again with World of Books, no way.

I recently placed two orders, first of which arrived on time. Unfortunately, there was an error with the second order: however, this was rectified immediately I contacted WOB and a replacement book dispatched within 24 hours - which arrived on time. Both were in very good condition for used books. Mistakes can easily be made in this busy world,… Read more

but prompt and excellent customer service to rectify more than makes up for this. I would have no hesitation in purchasing further used books from WOB - which saves me money and reduces paper waste.

Bought a book for the 4th ed but received the older edition (2nd ed). On their website it clearly said they sell 2 different editions next to each other. I paid extra for the latest one. Contacted the CS, they said couldnt guarantee the editions, as these are only guidance. Why bother to list 2 different lists with different price if they can't… Read more

source/guarantee them? They offered refund but postage fee is non refundable. I had no choice than keeping the older ed, as no point of returning due to the postage. Not returning for the second time. Thanks for the experience.

Partly my own fault as I didn't read books were 2nd hand but, book arrived, first page written in and pages stuck together through water damage. Contacted WOB and they are sending a replacement. Missed grandsons birthday but hopefully replacement arrives soon.

An excellent of fiction and textbooks. Although some of the books are second hand their condition is good and the price is very reasonable as postage is free . Postage is often a very large deterrent to buying any second hand books from the U S which are not available in Australia. Wob makes reading economical!

I have just received a book I bought from them that stated it was in very good condition. It is not. If it was I should be able to give it as a gift, but the watermarks and damaged edges make that impossible. I'd hate to see how bad "good condition" is.

It is a disgrace. We bought what supposed to be a full set of The One and Only series for AUD$69.98, only to receive 1 book (originally priced at AU$10). Customer serice is non existing. We could not speak to the real person. Also another book was sold for $14.49, with scribble inside. Original price was $7.99.

This is such a great way to buy books. The photos attached have more significant damage that I made. The book was delivered in great condition and only came with a small imperfection on the corner. It’s so sustainable, but also has a great price point and service. The shipping was really fast. I purchased a used book and thought that for the… Read more

price it would likely be pretty damaged, but it was in great condition like it had been read once with only a small imperfection that didn’t affect the integrity of the book. The price point is great, the service is wonderful, and I’ll only be buying books from here from now on.

First book (condition advertised as very good) arrived -torn pages, missing pages, awful condition. Replacement book (condition supposed to also be very good) absolutely filthy - food smeared on pages, pages turned over - absolutely disgusting.

Will never use again! Orders a set of books, received in incorrect books for the series. Took forever to get any sort of solution from them as they kept asking me the same questions over and over again. Then when they sent out the “replacement” they still sent me a series of books that was nothing like what I had ordered!

Follow-up  · They have now given me a complete credit for the books and asked I donate the incorrect ones sent to a charity store. I am happy with that outcome

I ordered 3 books but going back and forth with this company was exhausting and frustrating via email and even tried to contact them by telephone but… Read more

were unreachable. They offered so much but provided absolutely nothing, one email said we can offer an exchange but then they charged their mind’s and went back on their word which is annoying and the books are second hand and damaged and in such bad condition no wonder they process the order quickly and ship them out asap cause they sold me garbage!

They even suggested to donate them but even a charity wouldn’t accept them and they sold it to a customer for a shocking price!

Avoid the and do your homework before ordering on line with these imposters!

Follow-up  · Still very unhappy ! As I have 2 of the same books ! Don’t recommend this seller !

Follow-up  · They finally gave me a complete refund after all that trouble!

Have bought books from WOB and had no problems so thought I would sell them some. Big mistake. They claim that four of the books I sent were never received, nonsense!! One was so badly soiled they would not pay me for it! Also the quoted prices had… Read more

gone down for all the books. OMG! do they really think I will either buy from, or sell books to them ever again. This is an appalling way to do business. This is why the books they sell are so cheap as they don't actual pay for them!!

Follow-up  · They paid for the postage, and I put the box of books in my local In-post locker for collection. That all went without a hitch. It took them around two weeks to process them at their warehouse. This is when they said four books had never been received and one was too soiled to sell. I would never ever give substandard books or soiled books. In… Read more

I received the books I ordered this morning. I placed my order on the 1st February and have been kept informed of the progress of my order throughout, today being the 9th February I consider this prompt delivery. The books I received are in first class order, wouldn't know they're not new. Very happy with my order and first time experience with… Read more

World of Books. Will definitely order from them again and would recommend to others. Love that we are saving books from landfill and helping the environment.

I’m very happy with the quick turnaround and only waited 7 days in total. The condition of the ordered book was good and I paid $22 instead of $34 for a new one.

I ordered my book last Thursday 11/12/26 and here it is, on Thursday 18/12/26. The book in condition as expected (2nd Hand). Now this may seem rather trivial but I don't live in a major city, I live in country NSW. I have used other book suppliers so I accept the odd late or slightly delayed delivery -but I cannot complain about WOB. Will most certainly use them again.

Find your books somewhere else! Even for used books, I've never seen anything so disgustingly nasty, and filthy! Ugh! Must be people who NEVER wash their hands! Just nasty!

I ordered a book described by World of Books as very good condition. Received a book that must have been in a flood: pages, cover boards, dust cover were stained and warped. Boom was in poor condition.

Ordered a product listed on their website as Very Good Condition. The product that turned up was not in Very Good Condition, and so when I told them I wanted to return it and get my money back they want me to pay for return postage cost, even though they lied about the items condition. I believe that by making me pay return postage they hope that… Read more

I decide to keep the item, thus they make money through deception. They are nothing but scammers making money through lies and deception and so I recommend you buy from a more honest and reputable business. They do not deserve you as a customer.

Didn’t send books out, had to chase them up after two weeks when they told me they did, another two weeks and they still hadn’t sent them out AND one of the books were also unavailable. Asked if I wanted a refund which I said yes, however they ended up sending out the remaining books and told me if I wanted a refund I would then need to send books back at my own cost, I WILL NEVER BUY WITH THIS COMPANY….

I ordered five fairly expensive books and one of them smelled like engine oil/ gasoline to the point it could not be read. I asked for a refund or a return label and they refused. They simply answered that they don’t check them for smells. I asked again for a return label or a refund and they refused again. They wanted me to pay the postage to send back their stinky book. You could get any cr#p from them, beware.

I ordered a children's book with a CD, it was advertised as being in very good condition . The product was incomplete and damaged. The CD was missing from the product and the packaging to go with CD has been removed leaving a large hole in the front cover. I would not use them again and misleading information on the website.

Absolutely disgusted with the product I received. Ordered the Taboo on Blu Ray, it is meant to be a 3 disc series, yet only received 2 discs, missing disc 2 and the box is damaged on arrival. It was listed as a complete set and yet only 2 discs in the collection arrived. Not happy at all. Will never recommend World of Books ever again.

I ordered 2 books from World of Books almost 4 weeks ago. 1 has arrived and 1 has not. The book that has arrived is a 2nd hand book! It arrived after 3 weeks. The other book is still on its way. I did not agree to buy used books. The quality of the book was poor. I can buy good quality used books from my local “Op Shop” for about 1/3 of… Read more

the price of the books from WOB. WOB continually tell me that the book(s) is or are on their way. I get emails from a “Customer Service Officer” which are apologetic and untrue. DO NOT BUY BOOKS FROM THESE PEOPLE. Unreliable and untruthful.

The book I purchased had been bound with chapters in the wrong order and pages missing. Page 18 went to 54, with nothing in between. Pages 86 to 94 appear twice! It seems impossible to get in touch with WOB about this as their AI chatbot only has limited options. I'm really not happy with this and won't but anything from them again

Took 8 weeks for my CDs to arrive, with no padding or protection, just a thin plastic wrap so 2/3 were smashed and not playable, and the third has a crack across the front. Very very poor

Terrible experience, never buying again! ⭐ I waited months for a book I was really excited to receive. After all that time, they told me they couldn’t find my address, the book was sent back to them, and then they said it was no longer available!… Read more

I’m extremely frustrated, left without the book and with no proper solution. Slow and disorganized customer service. A complete lack of respect for the customer. Never buying from this site again.

Follow-up  · The book was new. They contacted me by email. They offered a refund, but I didn’t have access to that account anymore. I sent them another one, but they said they couldn’t do it. I just let it go — the price didn’t matter much, but the book was essential to me. It was The Prophet’s Letters by Kahlil Gibran.
