Good vacuum, useless attachments – Replaced a DC23 This new vacuum is quieter and doesn’t fall over. Hose is shorter and the pneumatic multi floor head is useless on carpet leaving lots of loose fluff items to be picked by hand. You can see the stuff moving with the head when it passes over but it just won’t pick it up. Very frustrating and the supplied head makes the vacuum bad.… Read more

Wooden floors change to the simple head, or just use a microfibre broom for much faster results. Fancy expensive vacuum badly let down by the parts that are supplied.

I just can't Believe that Dyson actually produced this Vacuum!!! – Well I purchased this Vacuum Cleaner (Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor Extra) back in February, 2023. I have to tell you that I can't believe that Dyson actually produced a vacuum cleaner like this one!! It is Terrible!! I have a Dyson Gen5 Detect Stick Vacuum that I use around my home - and it is a pleasure to use. Not the case with this… Read more

Barrell Vacuum!! I purchased it from Dyson on EBay. I bought it mainly for 2 reasons. 1. To use to vacuum my car, and 2. to vacuum the carpets in my 3 bedrooms. 1. Trying to use it to vacuum my car is a nightmare. It never stays upright and always rolling over on it's side. If it hits the power cord it just won't move and you have to tug at it to get it over the cord. The handle design is an absolute pain to use - Dyson put so much into their Development of their products - and they come up with this design?? Trying to clean the dashboard of my car becomes impossible due to this poorly designed handle!! Trying to extend the tube to increase the reach needs help from a weight lifter - another poor design feature. The wrost part about this machine is the excessive cost of all the accessories. They fit in one way only and this is like a jigsaw. Definately not designed for an older Australian User.

2. I have tried many times to use it to vacuum the bedrooms in my home. It's like having a workout everytime that you use it. It requires so much pressure and does not "Glide" over the carpet like it should. My carpet is low pile so it shouldn't be an issue but it surely is!!

Without any exaggeration, this is by far the worst Vaccum Cleaner I have ever owned.

I am so disappointed with Dyson. I honestly can't believe that they produced this poorly designed and very frustrating vaccum cleaner!!

Buyer Beware. Purchase it at your own risk!!

Does Dyson offer Great Customer Service? Well I will wait and see - and then report back to you!!

Hands down the worst vacuum I have ever purchased – This thing flings dust and bird seed behind it, in front of it - EVERYWHERE!! Takes me 4-5 times as long to try and vacuum something. Clunky and awkward head and handle. I have tried the two supplied heads and swapped to a turbo head. Avoid! I will never buy a Dyson brand again Show details

Disappointing – We have had this model's baby brother for a long time until the handle trigger cracked and duct tape was successfully used to repair. We replaced it with this Big Ball model, expecting the same or better performance. Wrong. The main body does not roll, you have to drag it behind you. Fluff and lint on carpet has to be picked up after you have vacuumed the area. Hopeless. I do like the easier chamber emptying feature and the quieter motor. Show details

Waste of Money – Paid $500 for this vacuum it barely sucks anything up from the carpet. Terrible has the quality of a $50 vacuum. Also it’s great to empty when dirt flies all over you. Show details

Shades behind my Dyson Origin which lasted yonks through 4 sons, cat and dog – carpet, wooden, tiles and vinyl. Changing tools for different surfaces is a pain when using at least twice a week. I hate to be one of those but the whole machine does not appear as robust and people friendly as my original. Show details

Worst Dyson I’ve ever owned! – I have used this twice. Can’t return to the shop as I don’t have the box. The pneumatic multi floor head is a complete disaster! It makes vacuuming carpets a nightmare. Instead of gliding over the carpet like every other vacuum I’ve ever used it lowers the blue strips that are supposed to be brushes and drags badly. Pushing the head is impossible.… Read more

You have to lift, place it in position and pull heavily towards you. When it’s vacuuming the hard floors it’s almost the same and leaves trails of sand and dust that you you have to go over again and again. This is NOT a hair issue. After reading reviews (wish I’d read them first I would NOT have bought this one) I even went and bought the Tangle Free Turbine tool but it’s 1. Inflexible & 2. Tiny I can’t possibly vacuum a 2 story house with that! So disappointed as I love Dyson & currently own 2 other stick ones but need a corded one for the longer time to run.

Great suction but – This vacuum would be AWESOME IF it had a turbo powered head attachment!!! This would enable the user to thoroughly clean their carpeted floors, rugs, mats with ease. A self cleaning filter would be ideal as well.

Does not clean carpet or tiles – We bought this vacuum cleaner 6 months ago from Harvey Norman and it is the worst vacuum cleaner that we have ever used. It doesn't vacuum hair from carpet, and doesn't pick up crumbs on tiled floors. The pneumatic head tool is useless and the dusting tool has no suction. We have to constantly empty the vacuum cleaner to maintain any sort of… Read more

consistent suction. The tools provided are horrendous. We preferred our old Dyson, which lasted us for 10 years. We thought we'd be as pleased but are far from impressed. We would not recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone. It doesn't clean and is a waste of money.

Big disappointment – Just want to share my thoughts about my new vacuum. I have to replace my retired vacuum as unable to find new brush for my old one. My old Dyson (10yo) is absolute legend. It usually take me to vacuum all house (2 storey approx 250sqm) in approx 40 min brilliant work one brush for everything, hard floor, rugs, narrow spots, stairs etc. nice and… Read more

easy to navigate. I was very disappointed I have to use one brush for rugs, another for straits, one more for tiles and hard floor and 4th to vacuum dining chairs. All process takes up to 2.5 hrs as I have to chance the brushes all the time. Suction is better for new one for sure, stairs brush is great absolutely love it BUT I have to spend soooo much longer to clean. Carpets first, next stairs, next narrow spots. Hard floor brush absolutely useless for carpets. Carpet brush is very very heavy and hard to navigate. Have to ask my husband to vacuum carpets so all family have to be involved in easy task. Not happy at all. Also vacuum looks small but heavy especially if you have to go up & down stairs. Much heavier than my bigger old Dyson. Also round shape should make navigating easier but it is not. All the wheels were scratched after it bumped after one use. It is not easy to move after all. Much harder than much less ergonomic looking old machine. Dyson you suppose to make things easier and not over complicate.

I was vacuuming for few time and was i will get use to it but not, it is not improving at all.

Very disappointed so much money paid and so much disappointed.

Pneumatic head useless on carpet – After years of a conventional cleaner we decided to go for a Dyson. So far that seems a mistake. We were advised by the salesperson in JB Hi Fi to go for this multi floor pneumatic after describing our floors. It was more expensive dive but we thought this would be good. We can’t even push the head over our medium pile carpet and the finer carpet… Read more

Picks up so much unseen dirt! – Just purchased this today from Harvey Norman Everton Park. It blows out a large amount of heat. However the amount of dirt it sucked up was outstanding! Actually I was horrified at how much dirt there was in my bedroom! I emptied the barre twice for one bedroom!! And I vacuum regularly - obviously my old vac was not so good after all!!!! The tools… Read more

are light weight to counteract the heavy barrel. The tools are very useful and there’s plenty of choice and an extra head in the box. I was pleasantly surprised at all the extra tools. The one for cleaning skirting boards worked a charm!! I’d recommend it.

Good to very good, lives up to advertised specifications – So I called up Dyson as I wanted to be sure to choose the right model for me. Initially I was just going to buy the cheapest but then I learned the colour of the machines and names etc mean nothing, they are basically all the same machine with the same suction just different colours, what varies are the vacuum heads/attachments included. I have… Read more

100% hard laminate floors so I was advised to get the step up from the lowest as it comes with attachments for hard wood floors as standard whereas the one lower doesn't and I would have had to have purchased it which would have cost me about the same anyway.

Use, I have test driven this vac with the standard multifloor extra head it comes with on my laminate floors, it has a slider that controls the amount of suction:

Plus: - Great suction on hard surfaces, as that's all I have and am therefore only reviewing that here. It has gates on the front allowing larger objects like a roach or a rice bubble to get sucked in and not just pushed in front. The suction is in fact so substantial that it almost suction caps to the floor lifting dirt from between boards.

- The machine looks great, all the attachments I need come in this grade's pack and by simply snapping I can switch tools as I go making vacuuming very easy. I was surprised at the amount of dirt it lifted from a so called "clean laminate floor", and I could see it spinning in the hopper.

- It's not so noisy as others, but the dog still doesn't like it. I have a Schnauzer so he doesn't drop hair so he wasn't an issue when considering, if you have a hair dropping dog/cat and carpets then this vac is likely the wrong one for you you'd need to go with one with a rotating head.

- Extremely easy to empty, once it builds up, I take it outside and press the button and release all the dust and pollutants into the outside bins. It has no filters to change and no bags, big plus.

- It's smaller than most other vacuums but more powerful taking up less space.

- The side clip has extra attachments attached to it, so you can vac everything as you go and switch tools easily and clip them on the side, no need to change attachments and go back and do the whole thing again you can do one side of the house to the other in one go without having to go back and all attachments do click in and out with ease.

Minus: - The cord is a tad too short. Even for an apartment you'd have to move it to replug it in someplace else, so in a house I can see this happening several times. I guess you'd plan that into your vacuuming and soon develop a pattern however.

- I read a lot of negs about Dyson here and largely they seem to be that it's not doing the job it's supposed to. The information on the Dyson website about which model to buy for which use isn't terribly clear when you look at models, so people are just buying the base model and wondering why it's not doing a wonderful job on carpets etc, when it seems that unlike other vacs with Dyson you really need to buy the right head attachment for the right job, so choose carefully, or best yet call them as I did for advice, rather than just buy the one the sale assistant wants to push onto you at a store someplace to move stock and make a sale leading to you being unhappy in the long run. If you're going to buy from a retailer, go armed first with the knowledge of which machine you need. Do your research!

- I think Dyson used to give a 5 year warranty. Why now only 2? Still double other corporations but still, if your product is good, stand behind it. Their customer service is very good however.

- I am kicking myself because the day after I ordered it, a sale went on and knocked $100 of the price of it on the Dyson website, I mean serious guys, couldn't you have told me to wait a day in the interests of good customer service and that Aussie spirit? Meh.

I will post another review in a few months time and list some more pros/cons of the machine. So far so good. I would buy it again and feel as though I've made the right choice, even if Dyson didn't apply the sale for me.
