Lovely Unit plus Made in Japan and You cannot go wrong with stuff Made in Japan – a lovely machine and i got mine second hand at a outdoor power equipment dealer who had one of these in Regional Victoria where i live somewhere i,m not sure if i want to name the place of the joint but it was the December Month (Month 12) nearing Christmas and well it was my first time finding one of them and yep in a very dirty condition it was… Read more

and yep a few bits and bobs missing from the carburetor aka carby to the air filter cover and air filter the drive shaft pipe being slightly bent which is not a sign of a good even cutting performance and some parts being a rusty i got her all carefully dis-assembled and began to clean and degrease the parts i knew that were in need of it and the guard/shield/debris deflector was full of grass like the previous owner had not cleaned theirs and used it commercially but yeah don,t blame them at all for sure as some things often don,t get taken the time to get cleaned as it,s always better than using a very dirty unit for sure just like a lawn mower whether it,s the 2 stroke aka 2 cycle or 4 stroke aka 4 cycle and as a bloke who loves his good engines and all well this is one lovely trimmer i got at the time and i replaced some worn or missing or broken parts and the main pipe driveshaft was one of them and i got that one from overseas from the USA (United States of America) known as www.JacksSmallEngines.com and yep once i ordered those ones i waited patiently for them and getting them out of the box i was very happy with the good Genuine parts to be replaced and then simply replacing the other good ones and of course some screws to get the clutch fan off where tight because they had a product called Loctite on them and yep very ideal in some cases and others probably not ideal but yeah it,s out there as we know and the piston and cylinder top end were quite carboned up with burnt 2 stroke mixture from the previous usage and bit of a cleaning on those ends very carefully mainly WD.40 and some engine degreaser and a good bit of light sandpaper for the piston and cylinder block top end to where it meets the spark plug and of course in the process i inspected the cylinder walls and not a sign of damage at all so yeah in very good shape too and once those ones were cleaned up and everything was all put back together it was a simple matter of testing it with a starting fluid source and a spray into the engine and then firing up the engine with the pull cord she puffed and ran on that which is better than nothing for sure and that told me the engine is nice and healthy and in the process i got some lovely Geniune parts and the only thing to slow down the uncontrolled spinning was the clutch spring assembly and once i got the proper part she was idling spot on and the trimmer head on the gear box with the dual nylon cord did also spin with and yep some tweaking with the carburetor aka carby and she,s back working and soon i shall replace the engine cylinder cover with a new one at some point too.

Brilliant machine – Just had it's 1st use and I am very happy with my choice. Did lots of research on cheap and more expensive brands and am so glad I went with this mid range option. It cut through overgrown thick wavy grass over 1foot long (Kikuyu) easily and after 1 hr of use, the only thing that stopped it was the small amount of line that was included (after a… Read more

few 'bump feeds' it was empty). The length and balance of the unit is good (great for slightly shorter users like me). It was easy to start and overall I am very happy with the way it performed in its 1st cut under extreme conditions.

Very reliable. Always starts. Well made – I have had one for a few years now and it is easy to start, light weight, not too noisy. A good quality product. I had a different brand previously which was not a reliable starter but i have never had an issue with this one. Am buying one now for my sone who needs one for his place. Show details

Best Whipper Snipper Ever – I’d reached the end of my tether with cheap Chinese line trimmers; so I bit the bullet and decided to get something decent. I’ve always used Product Review as my first port of call when researching purchases and saw that every single reviewer gave the Echo GT-22GES five stars. That was good enough for me and I’m very happy to report that these… Read more

reviews are spot-on. So easy to start, never stalls, the line feed is faultless; just a brilliant piece of equipment.

A really great brushcutter – I ask for 2 things in a brushcutter- Easy start and easy line replacement. 10 months ago I bought an Echo brushcutter for $279 and it's perfect. Starts 2nd pull as in the brochure, line replacement couldn't be any easier, and the line lasts a long long time. Nice and light. Made in Japan. I did a bit of research because the previous brushcutter… Read more

was so difficult to start, even from new, that I had to spray Ether into the intake every time I tried to start it. This short video made me decide to buy one and I couldn't be happier with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiUQ9AKciwU

Excellent quality and value – Very impressed with this line trimmer, easy starting and very ergonomic to use. For the money it is the best product in that price range of smaller line trimmers. Made in Japan and the build quality reflects this compared with the other big brand units that have gone the cheaper too manufacture option and lower quality standards.  Show details

Great bent shaft line trimmer I ever have – This is our third line trimmer and we finally got the right one. Purchased at the end of January 2018 from Western Mowers & Chainsaws at Toongabbie as recommended by the guy there. He was professional and helpful, doing the right thing for customer. The trimmer is easy to use, starts everytime without issue. It is perfect for small to medium… Read more

size yard. One thing I should highlight is that the line replacement is soooo easy, unlike other trimmers.

This is a highly recommended line trimmer.

5 Year warranty? Can't go wrong! – Only owned for a month now but more than happy with its performance thus far. The reviews on this site attracted me to this model of Echo and once I saw the 5 year warranty and for sale for under $250 it was a no brainer! Not as loud or heavy on vibration as other 2 stokes I've used so very happy.  Show details

OMG Awesome – I am more than happy with my new Echo weedeater. It cuts like a dream, is light enough to carry around and do the work. It is the Easiest I have ever started every time. I have acreage and have used many different sorts over the years and this is the best by far. I had never heard of Echo before but shopped around and bought it with the 5yr warranty and excellent customer service from the Graden Shed Rockhampton and LOVE IT :)  Show details

echo brand trimmers and blowers – have tried a lot of other brands and none of them even come close to this brand of trimmers and blowers . bought mine from Reynella Mowers and More .A full 5year warranty as well as high quality workmanship makes these products a worthwhile purchase ,have worked my trimmer hard and have had no problems at all, have not had to replace any parts… Read more

as yet do not expect to in the near future , they are easy to start and reasonably lightweight to use, would not say they are quiet but are within the limits of tolerance ,

Good Trimmer - Easy To Start – I've had this trimmer for a bit over a year and it's had generally light use. It's very easy to start and fairly quiet. I've got a big Husqvarna brush cutter I use for heavier work and that might bias my view of the Echo a little. One of the issues I have with it that it's very light - whilst this is certainly an advantage when using it for… Read more

extended periods it doesn't have the momentum and if the line catches it drags the cutting head in; if the line hits the ground you'll scalp a section of grass as the head is pulled in.

The biggest issue I have with it is the placement of the muffler and exhaust. The muffler always ends up near your forearm when in use. This is particularly noticeable when using the trimmer in the vertical position (as one does when edging). This is only tolerable for a few minutes at a time as otherwise your forearm gets very hot.

All in all a great little trimmer if you want something very easy to start, light to carry around and you don't have too much to do at one time.

Pleased with this machine – I purchased this machine approximately 18 months ago. The salesperson at the time said it was one of the easiest line trimmers on the market to start. I have found it very easy to start and it does a good job trimming the lawn on the banks around our home and the weeds in selected areas on our property. As a result of being impressed with this… Read more ·  2

Great little machine – I've had no trouble starting or using this machine. However the bump feed does wear out, and mine needs replacing as it has worn right through. Whether or not this is a common problem with all bump fed line trimmers I don't know, as none of the others I've owned have lasted long enough for me to find out! Four years, still going strong engine wise.

So far it's brilliant! – I decided i wanted to stear clear of brands such as ryobi victa etc (thrown out ryobis in the past) and go for something a bit higher quality like a stihl or husqvarna. Neither brand reviewed that well on here which put me off so i began looking at echo and shindaiwa. The local store had a special on this model $199 so after going down there 'just… Read more

to have a look' i came back with one and they threw in free oil and measuring jug. Has more power and bigger fuel tank than the opposition, its very light, quiet for a whipper snipper and starts so easily. It is perfect for my needs, and i expect many trouble free years from it.
