have placed the order. Because of this failure, we were forced to buy another gift at the last minute so that my 90-year-old father would have something to open on Christmas Day. Battling heat and crowds on Christmas Eve is not something anyone should be pushed into due to misleading delivery promises. We have been unable to reach anyone on the customer service number. Discrimination at St Leonards branch. Upon my purchase, I requested to use, recycled plastic to cover my sheet but was not allowed, hence another customer (not a person of colour) was given better service as she requested her crayons to be wrapped and received boxes to put them in at no extra charge. Very disappointing as later a sprinkler splashed my paper on the way home, staining it. Show details

Hello, I just bought 2 visual art diaries. The paper is ABSOLUTELY crap! It doesn’t take any water or wet media AT ALL. It just absorbs immediately. I’ve used cartridge before for watercolor & of course it’s not designed for watercolor, but in most cases it works. Of course it’s not as good as Arches but I wouldn’t expect that. Had a pretty poor shopping experience in your store today. The assistant was not really interested in helping me solve my problem and was quite dismissive in their attitude, blaming me for allowing the paints to dry out. He offered no solutions other than go back to the company of original purchase If I want to spend good money at your store let me. Second time customer - last visit I am afraid. Show details

Shop lifting must be high this week as the staff went out of their way to watch me. Pretending to tidy up the fixtures close to me, only to return to the front counter once I left the store. Southport. I won’t be returning after that experience. Note to young staff on duty : Sometimes customers do not need help finding products as they are knowledgeable about range. Or perhaps I looked too “normal” to be an artist. Whatever the reason you really put me off shopping here. Thank you.

I have found them to be reliable – Reading other reviews here, I have to say I have always recieved my orders quickly, and in full. The products are wonderful. Eckersleys Cnr Nicklin Way and, Kensington Dr, Minyama – I went to their shop at Nicklin Way today, there was a young lady named Lava, she welcome me with a beautiful big smile as I enter the store, and offer to assist me with what I needed to purchase. It was a wonderful and very pleasant experience. And on top of that the price was good, I purchased 6 in 37ml oil paint, I also received a large 200ml Winsor & Newton Oil colour in white for free. Show details

Overpriced everything – Misleading pricing practices. Arches paper is the best example. Not only is a single sheet $3 more than anywhere else, but the half price promotions are, in fact, half off the price they make up for the week. I checked across numerous sites - the RRP of an Arches WC block is $129, Eckersleys will claim it as $180. I and other artists, art teachers, etc, won’t go near them. Problem is they are everywhere now

Excellent customer service, before shopping and on store pick up! – I sent off an email to Customer Service and received one back same day from Ronan who was very helpful. He provided the list of needed items to the Hawthorn Victoria store, he let me know that they had all the items, price and pick up details. Rediculous customer 'service' – I received a gift that needed returning as I have a set of the pencils already. The customer service phone number was answered by a staff member who wanted to email me instead, and seemed to resent having to speak to a customer. I had the packing slip with my name and address. they "didn't know if I was the actual owner". How else would I have a packing slip with my name on?

I wouldn't expect an understanding of property law but I would expect some simple common sense and some vague semblance of a consumer orientation. I'll be avoiding this company like the plague in future - and this should serve as a warning of anyone who thinks about buying presents through their site.

other companies things I needed and I got them in my house after one week. I would not recommend this art shop. I do deal with online orders and I know it Is difficult time now and we do always look after our clients. It’s No from me.

Do not shop online store – Placed a online order (8 x watercolour brushes) and they sent me 1 x random brush from a different brand. Sent multiple emails and tried to call customer service for a refund with no reply. The absolute worst customer service do not shop here!

Absolutely amazing – Excellent customer service at the Penrith store! The ladies that served me were very helpful and made me feel very comfortable considering i did not know much about the differences between some things. Will definitely be going back and would recommend Eckersleys to anyone. Made my day.

Read the fine print: NO REFUNDS – Bought a book from the Belconnen, ACT store only to find a more suitable item for our needs at another store, so went to return the item approximately 10 minutes later, however was advised that no refunds are given for change of mind purchases. counter and surrounds, it definitely did not stand out. Was pretty frustrating, considering we had only bought the item 10 minutes prior and hadn't even left the shopping mall with it. Surely they could have made an exception...

Ended up finding some pens to exchange (ps - how does one ordinary gel pen cost almost $5?).

Service wasn't great.

Returns policy needs to change.

Items very very overpriced.

Definitely won't recommend or shop there again.

Rude service, horrible managers – Not once, but twice I've shopped here and have been treated like absolute rubbish. The first time i bought several products for school with a student discount, but after paying for the items i saw they calculated the wrong amount for the discount. When i went back the shop keeper was extremely rude and said it was my fault for not pointing it out.… Read more

she ended up giving me a refund but didn't apologise at all, and when i then asked for a receipt she said she didn't know how to do it and told me if i had spotted the error in the first place this would not have happened.

The second time i shopped here, i used my new student discount card. However i was told it could not be used because i hadn't activated it. But the last time i came one of the staff members gave me this new card and never told me i had to do anything. He said i didn't need my old card anymore because it was expired and then gave me a new card. When i explained this to the store manager, he said he was very sure that the staff would have mentioned i needed to activate my card. I told him that was not the case, he then proceeded to tell me that he was absolutely sure as that is the store policy and that he thinks i made a mistake in not activating my card. All the while he had a look on his face that seemed to not care at all and was probably thinking i was wasting his time. How absolutely rude! I don't think any customer deserves to be treated this way and they should really do some training on their staff to provide a better customer service.

those who can't afford the 'posh' stuff. This time I ordered a book, the delivery was extremely fast, I received my package in just 3 days and I love my new book... It's been a pleasure doing business with these guys...

Eckersley's loses one star from me, only because their products are a little out of my price range (being a student) but I know that if I do get something from them... it's going to be worth every cent!

Everything an artist needs – Definitely my choice when it comes to my art and graphic design needs. Athough not the cheapest, they definitely have the largest range of art supplies from markers, paints to specialty papers. Staff are very friendly and are only to happy to help you find what you are looking for, or order it in if they don't stock it. If you are a student in a course they often will also give you a discount. excellent range, helpful staff not the cheapest
